Family › Re: Why Do Most Nigerian Men Treat Their Wives Like Maids? by DisGuy: 10:34am On May 23, 2009
we just like living in denial shaaaaaaa!!

okay not all of them but .  .   .  .

4) Another reason, most common among the interviewed ladies.
its like this: all they are after is to have "a degree", no matter what. Next is they want to get married, since they know their husbands might not allow them to pursue their profession, so why the waste of time, a lot of "the husband is the crown of the wife" mentality, so therefore, once they have that crown they feel they have achieved everything in life.
kimba

^^^ I think it stems from this, so many nigerian girls are like this- they have no personal goal apart from getting married!!!^^^

Politics › Re: Yar’adua Tips Lamido Sanusi For CBN Governor by DisGuy: 9:58am On May 23, 2009
mikeansy:
I personally think the greatest dis-service to the market is the fact that the President won't confirm once and for all who his choice is for CBN Governor and leaving it to dangerous speculation

and surely market behaviour reacts to government activities. At least we saw Jacob Zuma announce who will be managing treasury in South Africa in a bid to sustain confidence in the market . . . . Barrack Obama also did the same with Timothy Geithner
yes but before they appointed those people they weere speculations!
If anything the newspapers in nigeria are teh ones causing all these unnecessary
'panic'

naijaking1:
Sorry, if you don't know how government can affect market and currency; I really don't have all the time to teach you at this time. However, watch out for naira value in the coming weeks if this news turns out to be true.
I'll revisit this issue again only if proven wrong, meanwhile peace cool
it's already devalued!

Wont be surprising if your comments were simply because the guy is not your preferred choice

When will Northern Nigeria (especially core north) start valuing education?
I can say without any hesitation that this slowpoke does not speak for Northern Nigeria. What a waste unto humanity. I believe that he should be expelled from office. In a tribally intense Naija he has the gull to utter such inexcusable nonsense he is a waste man indeed.
totally agree with you, but seeing how useless the niger-deltan reps can be he'll probably stay to call for a total wipe-out in the future!
Politics › Re: House Of Reps: 20 Million Niger Delta Citizens Should Be Allowed To Die by DisGuy: 7:48pm On May 22, 2009
and what did the niger-deltan/igbo reps say? they just made some bellyful noise and got on with it as usual?

everyone blames the government as if there are no reps from other tribes there  undecided
from 1999-today these regions are being represented by niger-deltans, what exactly do they do
seeing as there is no improvement, i bet some of them dont even live in tehse regions they claim to represent!

what the poster is suggesting is what is already in encomium and all those funny magazines in nigeria
no one pay attention to them any more, they and many people just see it as a marketing ploy
you get headlines saying 'chairman impregnates friends daughter!
the politicians dont even blink talk less of feeling ashamed!
in fact the citizen dont even buy the paper- not like they've not heard it before!
all the millions, billions we read in the papers day in day out is part ofd it
the bottomline everyone's grown a thick skin to all these sort of news
the politicians are either accusing their rivals of cooking up stories or pro/anti third term
there's no shame in our culture anymore that is just it!!

We need to put the fear of GUN into these mothafukas!

if we can pay people to get documents we can surely pay people to fire bomb
their family homes

Just because you studied chemical engineering don't mean you will work in an oil company!
Use your head! There are many places you can start from don't restrict your job search to 'oil companies'
You have many skills that can get you a job/experience in other sectors but it seems you have been
programmed like many to think the title of their degree is directly related to their job title!!

start from somewhere get experience you can even use later on to get into the oil sector!

Good luck with the I.T training

Dolphin Gains Promotion
http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=8447

Two-time champions Dolphins have made a return to the Nigerian Premier League after two seasons in the National First Division wilderness.
Dolphins lost 2-1 to 3SC on Saturday in Ibadan, but with third-placed First Bank losing 1-0 to Delta Force, the Port Harcourt side kept their eight-point advantage over the Bankers with two games to go, meaning they cannot finish lower than second.

Dolphins went into the Ibadan cauldron knowing that a draw would all but ensure their top-flight qualification, especially if First Bank failed to win. But they were quickly on the ropes and went behind when Lateef Adigun took advantage of a panicked Dolphins defence to head a 15th-minute corner-kick home.
3SC Almost there

At fulltime, Dolphins’ 55 points proved enough to give them a place in the elite. Shooting Stars move up to 51 points and have their promotion fate in their own hands.

First Bank will need to beat Dolphins in Port Harcourt – where the Garden City side are yet to lose a game all season – and hope that 3SC drop points.

To be honest, I lost my interest in Fashola. His visions seem more of an elite society.
was wondering same thing too sometimes, I mean most of these development seems to be lekki, epe bound
most part of teh state is crying out for transformers like in ther otehr thread, roads and whats with agberos
there are no public announcement concerning their activities or are they untouchable?

No big plans for education and health issues as well they hospitals are filthy!!!

Fashola is doing good but he needs to do more!
the commisioners should pull their socks up!

before any praise singer rush here- FASHOLA is one of the best governors we've had in nigeria! grin
Politics › Re: South Korea's Abandoned Airports: A Warning To Nigerian State Governors by DisGuy: 2:02pm On May 19, 2009
Gombe INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT that was completed last year is ONLY used during the HAJJ pilgrims and when the president is coming to inspect or
visit the families of dead emirs or statesmen!

Nothing wrong in building airports but MOST Airports in Nigeria are built using government money instead of private funds,
its very obvious not private investor will build in some of these states with very little demand, the governors should build school
and hospitals instead or invest in agriculture!!!

Some states can actually collaborate one build roads linking the neighbouring states so the other can forfeit its plans for airports
for a certain number of years

why is every airport in nigeria using the word 'international' even

Warming Up? or Dozing Off!

What has he or his party ADC done since he lost the 2007 Presidential elections?

How many ward Councils or LGA charman seats does ADC have?

ADC is yet to win any significant election even @ L.G Council/Ward level not to talk about State Assemby or Federal Assembly.

Let Pat Utomi contest & win election as L.G Chairman and bulid his moribund party platform before he can be taken seriously as a politician.
Thank You!!!

Even with the PDP majority we have since 2000, the national assemblies are struggling to pass executive bills
let the ADC win at least something anything and lets go from there

it's just a typo

but i understand what you are saying about the CV, I was thinking the same too, it's a bit too watery
sounds like an MC introducing you to the 'high table' with a list of this and that,

On the other hand nigerian software developers should not limit themselves to nigeria alone and should
watch out for partnership, at the end of the day the consumer wont care too much about the nationality of the software

Welcome to Nairaland

Although the thread I recommended was mainly for students, I reckon there are many experienced people
on it that can give you advice on your particular question if you also post your questions there. members are likely to reply to a thread they've written on before than replying a new thread with a similar topic

If you still want your thread open, I will do that

dominique:
this should be no biggie for the bayelsa utd boys
wondering why you said that, hopefully the second leg is like their game against cottonsport

Brian Omwony scored twice to help Uganda's KCC hand down a 3-1 defeat to Nigerian high fliers Bayelsa United in the CAF Confederation Cup third round, first leg match on Friday.
Having arrived in Kampala on Thursday, the Nigerian champions-to-be were given little time to settle as Umony stunned them in the first minute.

Moses Muhindo added a second on 56 minutes before Omwony completed his brace on 64 minutes.

Bayelsa got reward for their pressure when goalkeeper Benjamin Ochiang fumbled a cross into his own net to give Bayelsa a crucial away goal.
