I still wonder why AIT and NTA avoid stories like these
if they repeat this sort of news every week for 3 good months i think
It will sink in!

Its also about time they start parading drug smugglers caught at the airport on NTA!!!

why is Mikel shunning the Olympics?
well, I'll like to know why we are desperate for him to play there

check the players that have played at the Olympics and tell us what you think
I rarely hear or read about them talking glowingly about the Olympics.

If anything Olympics should be left for amateurs just coming up!!

Mikel didn't show up for the qualifiers, so the coached dropped him
vowed never to use him, he apologised and happily moved on with the super eagles
instead of moving on, everyone is still going on about it like Siasia can't win anything without him
fair enough Siasia 'discovered' him but that doesn't mean he should now control him forever!

Hey guys, i know this may be out of the way,

i would like to go for one of the energy/petroleum courses at uni of aberdeen. Someone tells me i would really find it difficult to get a job there since i have no previous working experience. How true is this?

I'm confused because I thought it should be easy since its aberdeen (oil and gas capital of europe).

Please i need advice.
if I study accounting and finance at unilag, will it be easy to get a job in the banking sector since Lagos is the commercial nerve center of nigeria?

please note, you will be competing with about 5000 national and international students from universities in Scotland churning out graduates interested in the lucrative sector. It is very competitive- not easy and not difficult

well When you remove the CEO you don't put yourself there! you get a qualified experience with track record as long as your arm, so. . . .?

its not about loyalty, you have to vote for someone abi

Kobojunkie:
The only reason those recycled old goons are still there is because people are still willing to find excuses to comfort themselves in their lack of will for change. That is why I say Nigerians deserve for the most part these goons and may continue to get them until they learn to let go of these excuses and stand up for what is right and their right.

Ever Notice how every new idea (that has never even been tried) is shot down with a thousand excuses for why it will never work and why the status quo is the better alternative?? ROFLMAO!!
or because you and I can't really vouch for any individual that can make this change!

can you name anyone is willing and able to make changes?
Politics › Re: President Yar'adua Should Resign! by DisGuy: 3:47am On Jul 08, 2008
nobody is willing to wait
you cant blame us, ever since I was born we've been shouting up NEPA!
im sick of it!

madamkoko:
I think Kobojunkie's argument is that even as governor, Yar'adua didn't do much, NOW, what makes us think that he'll do anything as president.

As president however, its an entire set of responsibilities don't you think ?

My thing is this: He's only president: what about the corrupt governors, senators, army officers, leaders, etc under him, I mean what can he do to curb those people.
well most of us dont live in the north, only those people will be able to say the little impact he made.
and with OBJ dipping his hands into state money anyhow anytime, forcing them to sign up for loans
and development they didnt need in their region, holding back money from lagos even after the high court judgement you
really have to wonder what exactly they are doing themselves.

I think we still need a semi-military govt! those obese senators and house of reps are really pushing thier lucky too much in fighting , everyone wants to be popular by probing this and that even though they dont understand what the contractors are saying!

Kobojunkie:
lol, I am serious. I have been of this mindset for a while now. We can not afford to spend 8 more years playing games anymore. We sat with great optimism back when Obasanjo was on sit, hoping and waiting for the miracle to happen, as we have with past presidents and look were we are today. Decades of my own life, and of yours wasted hoping for a miracle from these human beings. Dem say once bitten, twice shy. At this point, don't you think we have been proven morons??

I would rather we have a situation where people understand they have 6 months to show they are worthy or they get the frell out and let someone else try. That to me increases the chances of us getting someone good soon; opens the door to more people; curbs recycling of old fools, and will help better put corruption in check at the same time. We can set up a special committee to work on probing each failed leader and making sure to retrieve all stolen funds, while the leaders can focus on doing their job and impressing the people from day one in office.
hmmm that will increase the number of people wanting to be called ex-president, even though they know they can't achieve anything tangible within that short period; afterall it takes about 8 month to release mobilisation fee for a project and you know ex-presidos get the same salary as the current president for life.

corruption takes place mostly just before handing over, so one month probe for the 6-7 critical areas, transport, education, health etc grin

this plan has been tried with the Nigerian football association we are still no where near the final of a world cup and we are still not short of candidates cool
Politics › Re: President Yar'adua Should Resign! by DisGuy: 3:27am On Jul 08, 2008
He had the job of fixing Katsina for 8 years. He could not accomplish that and now he will fix Nigeria??
30 governor or thereabouts had 8 years to fix their state under OBJ, who amongst them did?

Kobojunkie:
So if WE KNOW that he is not qualified and is not doing a good job now, how about we get him to step down and allow whomever will try to try and if that person does not do much in, say 6 months, we do exactly the same until people realise that Nigerians are no longer willing to sit and accept Nonsense. What is bad in that? I would think that would be a better choice than to sit and waste another 4 to 8 years of our own lives waiting for a miracle that may never come.

Sigh!! I really think Nigeria deserves what it gets at this point and as much as people talk about wanting change, I believe it is all still lipservice on the most part.
is that a joke or you are getting reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally fed up too

The Nigerian government said it would pay the new salary to teachers in federally-run schools, but it could not compel state and local government authorities to pay the enhanced rate in schools set up by them.
so whose fault is it really?
is it the state or the government, shouldn't the teachers be holding the state governors to ransom
after all some states pay about the same as the federal government

It's not that he doesn't pick the calls. Even though he denies it, most of his calls are from ladies, but these two particular ladies call him very frequently. Maybe i'm just being jealous. I must confess, he has really pampered me ever since we started dating, and since then(it's about a year and a half now, we met on camp) he has been calling me everyday. Maybe that idea of him talking to another lady on phone is making me unreasonably envious.

Education › Re: Best School For Masters Degree In The UK? by DisGuy: 4:33pm On Jul 07, 2008
I know that some multinational oil companies go to some universities to recruit Nigerians and bring them back home to work, schools like Robert Gordon, Heriot Watt, Imperial etc, that's exactly what I am looking, I just want to know if the same applies for London south bank and also Surrey,
companies tend to go to universities that have departments or links with the industry they are in, and in some cases go to universities that have programmes that relate to their industry when they are invited for open days and seminars, some lecturers have links with these companies or might be getting funding from them so they might just visit schools in south.

Another thing is, there are open days almost every quarter for all university students where hundreds of companies participate, so you are always free to go there.

you might want to ask people working in the oil industry in nigeria how they got their job or start a thread about ex-students of these schools- RGU, HW, Imperial and so on so they might discuss the recruitment activities

Speaking to Daily Trust, proprietor of Bennie International School , Mrs Bennie I. Ihena said that some people suspected to be members of the NLC besieged her school and forcefully sent all the children they found in the school back home.

She said the people numbering about 200 climbed into the school premises before finally breaking the main gate of the school after which they chased away all the children.
isn't this illegal?
