Buhari's relative who he made NIRSAL boss mismanaged #205 billion of agricultural loans. https://tribuneonlineng.com/reps-probe-nirsals-n205bn-agricultural-loan-n105bn-scam/ He was later reported to have stolen close to #90 billion of the money. Wired to ghost accounts and the likes. He stole another #5.6 billion meant for wheat farmers. https://dailypost.ng/2022/12/05/alleged-n5-6bn-fraud-huriwa-demands-arrest-of-former-nirsal-md/ He's untouched after the media frenzy. But, hey, continue the whitewashing of Buhari. |
ShaqFu:Joe, I just saw your mention about the $618 million for startups in Nigeria by the afDB partnering with the FGN. I read it on AfDB website too. The plan began in 2018 around the time Osinbajo began networking with tech industry players for the Nigerian Startup Act. See why Osinbajo would have made a good President if given the chance? The I-DICE $618 million would have even begun implementation (money-wise and networking-wise) since September 2022 but Buhari foolishly removed Osinbajo from heading the NEC. The AfDB is ready but Nigeria isn't. https://projectsportal.afdb.org/dataportal/VProject/show/P-NG-K00-009 I' don't see anyone else who's really as passionate about aiding and growing tech startups like Osinbajo. And that's our best chance of increasing GDP as a country while cutting down on oil theft. |
OasisX:Oh. Akan Udofia, the Akwa Ibom APC Governorship candidate. -Self-made billionaire businessman. -Very intelligent. -The third youngest of all of the candidates. -One of the key brains behind Ibom Air. -Has the top 3 best manifestoes. -Seen as a clean slate so loved. -Was in the PDP until after the primaries. -On a personal level, my top 2 of the candidates. But his campaign has been derailed by: -Buhari's SSA who until last week has been battling him in court; -Not having Akpabio's cult following to counter the animosity against the APC, and; -The money Udom has set aside for the election is scary. Plus Akan Udofia has been turning down appointments since Akpabio's time as governor so I don't know if he'd take up at the federal level in the future. |
TrebleChamp:Thank you, 'Champ. Emaprince:Thank you. Oddly, no hard feelings on my end. Until you folks mentioned it, I didn't even know what gender the moderator was. The last time I made any inquiry about being banned from any moderator was to Ishîlove in 2015 or so. And that was me still figuring out Nairaland. And if they come for my alternates like this one did, that's on them. But Disstróy would never give anyone the satisfaction of knowing my online activities can be curtailed. I mean, what stops me from creating a moniker like DissRepect, DissRegard or DissFigure? Or even DissObedient? Same same. |
BlueRayDick:There are exceptions. In the 2000's , there was a sudden Oro rite in Ado-Odo/Otta in the afternoon. Unannounced even. It was in the Lafenwa - Oju-Ore axis. The whole town/LGA went crazy. Those of us day students who had to return to Lagos daily and would usually take the Lafenwa shortcut to Tollgate and into Lagos had to braze the Oju-Ore traffic then to Joju and on to the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway back to Lagos. School buses and the likes. I don't think anybody was brought to justice. And there were rumours of missing school-aged kids after that day. |
Just so it is straightened out: The people who pleaded on Gbola's behalf to get a reprieve did no wrong per se. Interceding to get a soft landing when no serious crime was committed has always been the norm world over. And they owe me no allegiance to ask that I be unbanned, even though I was at the periphery of what occurred that day. I'm more concerned about how a moderator can activate a deactivated account. That's a serious security breach because it proves they can get intrusive account access of Nairaland users. Still, it's the place of the moderator to undo the ban altogether. But I suppose she was waiting for me to come cap-in-hand to plead my case like the others did. Fûck no! I'd rather fancy my chances against a hungry bear. Drugged. And caged. Thanks to those who called her out for days here. Many of you did. But there's no way on this green Earth I was going to pander to a power-drunk heifer; worse even, a random one on the internet who's never been in my interactive space in this corner of the cyberspace. So I served out my ban like a man. And if it was longer, I'd have switched cloaks. After all, we make the monikers but the monikers don't make us, right? Right. |
CrystalTiger:I know. He has a history of tribal hatred. But hateful people would always be hateful people - you mostly can't change them. What you can actually do is take what they think is a sour point or touchy issue to trigger you and turn it around to your advantage. Take the power from them. Sometimes go on the offensive or accept it then press on with your line of argument. Weakness is never rewarded anywhere. If you won't ignore, become the bigger bully. |
The YouTuber isn't even in Labour Party. There's so much hatred and bad blood in the sociopolitical space between the Igbos and Yorubas, I'm blessed not to belong to either of the two so I can afford to be somewhat detached from all the animosity. I can only imagine what the mental toll has been on both tribes politicking online. |
CrystalTiger:It's because you are emotional and easily get triggered. Someone calls you Shinedus and Shukwudis? Own that ish! Own it and be proud. Why should you consider your own people's name an insult? Even if it's meant as a slur, own it. Beat your chest and say "I am Shukwudi". What's wrong with Shinedus being synonymous with Igbo people? As long as it's nothing criminal, illegal or untrue, why be triggered by a name? Own it proudly and whatever demeaning intention was behind it becomes ineffectual. |
ShaqFu:Key term: Substance abuse. Most people don't know when to draw the line. Even more people don't even know the line. If you get inebriated - even a little, it's already abuse. Your body's telling you you've crossed the line. And you're focusing only on alcohol. What about those who'd mix anything in the name of aphrodisiacs to go the whole mile between the sheets? Or the ones who'd take Paracetamol at the slightest feeling of being uneasy? Or those who'd experiment with anything which gives off smoke? Or even add anything to their alcohol to seemingly suppress even though it makes it worse? It's an uncomfortable topic which makes many people (men especially) uneasy, I know. But uncomfortable topics have to be discussed sometimes. And the worst abusers of substances are very religious so that further negates your argument of me stating it from a religious standpoint. |
ShaqFu:It's being responsible healthwise. Why deliberately take substances which would damage your physically and mentally? Asides physical health, we all know the psychological toll such addictions take on the abusers. Like the guy who can't sleep at night unless he inhales xyz, or the girl who thinks the only way to drown out her moodiness is consuming 20CL of spirits. Yes, I know you're not religious but still, your stand toe the line of religious thinking.Ironically, alcohol features a lot in religion. Wine is a constant theme. And my lungs, liver and kidneys and heart are all doing very fine, thank you.Glad they are. But don't gaslight. The issue is about saying no to substance abuse, not about religiosity. Substance abuse knows no atheist or theist. Let's stay on the issue. |
ShaqFu:Joe, not doing drugs, alcohol, or smoking doesn't make one a saint or anything pious. It's just being responsible. You already know I'm barely religious, and that I've kicked against substance abuse over the years. I'm a proud teetotaler and 'straightedger'. How are your liver, kidneys, heart, and lungs today? Mine are great. ![]() |
seankafor:As you stay away from drugs, stay away from alcohol and smoking too. Stay away from taking synthetic medication or any as much as you can. A cold bath is sometimes just as effective as swallowing that Aspirin or Paracetamol. And stay away from circles where drugs and alcohol are consumed uninhibited. That includes wild parties and clubbing if you can. Substance abuse isn't something to be proud of though it's seemingly glamourized, even on this thread. It's not sanctimony - it's being responsible for your mental and physical health. |
kiako:Cybrary and Microsoft have free professional IT support and cybersecurity certificate courses. Then you pay to take the certificate qualifying exams. During the lockdown, it was free and subsidized. Harvard, Oxford, and MIT had many subsidized professional certificate courses and programmes during the Lockdown and I took many, earning myself many verified certificate courses. Take courses from the Project Management Institute too. I took a Project Management courses there Many of you missed chances during the Lockdown while some of us spent that year taking as many certificate courses as possible and even becoming popular on Twitter for a while for publicizing subsidized certificate courses. Good luck! |
January 21, 2023. Less than 10 weeks ago. Like I stated, most of these people would jump on any ship they see they can more likely curry favours from, now or in the future. The ones who took a stand (regardless of what stand it is) and have stood by it have more integrity than these happy-go-lucky folks who'd latch on to the Devil's schlong if it seems favourable at that instant. monerozi5590:Yeah... It took one comment by one person on Nairaland for you to make up your mind recently, but the thousands of articles and comments all over social media didn't for years. |
January 10, 2023. Less than 2 months ago. Since INEC declared what it did on Wednesday, our guy's stance has changed. Obi is suddenly a liar, a crook, and everything wrong with the Nigerian polity. Take any of these fairweather political analysts seriously at your own peril. monerozi5590: |
Donjazet2:Nairaland, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter... There were and are no neutrals. Some whose very existence (socioeconomically, especially) depends on the entrenchment of the status quo and currying favours from those who walk the crime-painted halls of power were playing it safe. For many, their support of either of the two main political parties' presidential candidates meant they could fall back on something at the state or national level if their projections don't go right. Even safer if they could do it without being seen to go against the tide (Obi). There were no neutrals, really. The wave of trolling instigated mostly by the supposed neutrals on this thread (and on social media generally) in the aftermath of the irregularities by INEC in announcing the result is a pointer to it. There are still many who don't want to comment openly so as not to contradict the stance(s) of their 'egbons' from whom they might curry favours of whatever type at some point in the future. It's their right to do so, but that pretence of disinterest or aloofness is a façade. |
Itsrm:Just as we stated, Obi won Rivers State. The results INEC declared and what's on the IReV are as contradictory as night and day. Obio Akpor LGA is just one of the many altered examples. We told them you can't be a man born of a woman to mention Tinubu even at Oil Mill Junction, Obio Akpor LGA in 2022 and beyond, but they argued. INEC declared doctored reports and shameless crass nitwits with the moral compasses of drugged piranhas were celebrating, even on this thread. Now that the true picture has been revealed, what are we met with? Silence. Ominous silence. |
akwesenana:Ayeneka, don't get involved, please. We know ourselves here and give and take the heat. Let me deal with the old fat Kwara herdsman myself. |
Donjazet2:I told you I have done some confirmation. Even my own PU was falsely recorded by INEC whereas Obi won it and INEC uploaded cropped result. It wasn't from PU. It was between the Akwa Ibom state REC and the Governor. Atiku came second and Obi first. That I know and court proceedings should start. |
