echo247 is definitely not an atheist. Check her post history. She converted to atheism 30 minutes ago.
Are you not derailing this thread? How many people have you banned for disobeying the rules which include derailing threads?

And why is this thread not on the frontpage? Are the people who read those "pastor to atheist" threads not fit to be part of these "investigations"?

Don't you think that the title of this thread right now grossly misrepresents what the OP had in mind when he created this thread?

Seun:
The latest title is perfect.
Why did you change the title of this thread? WHY?

WHY?

Moreover, HardGuy's claim has been investigated in another thread opened by his hopefulfellow.

Why are you trying to shield liars?

I have just changed the title of the thread. So this thread is for discussing the specific claim that was disputed by damogul in this thread.
No. Why did you change the title of the thread? Why are you trying to make obscure the fact that the whole information in those "pastor to atheist" threads could be false?

Please:

1. Change the title of this thread to what it was.

2. Move it to the frontpage.

Let the same people who swallowed the trash he cooked decide whether the HardGuy is worth taking serious any more.

Stop being too biased. It's nauseating.

Wrong.

I saw his crap on frontpage. I never thought it was click-worthy. If one has encountered the supernatural, there's nothing any fool bouyed by the finite momentum of human wisdom can say that has a distant relationship to conviction.

Lots of christian or religious folks who clicked on that crap are still wavering in their faith.
Seun, is this not the reason why this thread has to be moved to the frontpage?

It is becoming increasingly clear that the religion section of Nairaland has an anti-Christian theme.

Not as if I'm worried: nothing can shake me away from Christ by GOD's grace. However, I believe the owner of a forum like this should show 0% bias in administering his forum.

Eyes are watching you.

"...Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit." Matt. 7:16-17

I've said it over and over again, and I will say it again: the most learned and intelligent people are never atheists. Virtually everything in the universe points to GOD.

Somebody on this thread asked why it can't be that the universe just exist uncaused and without a Creator(making it eternal). A simple research will reveal that the energy in the universe is decreasing, and so the universe must have started some time ago, and must necessarily not be eternal.

Knowledge cures atheism.

How are these ones different from Satan? Are these not the same words Satan spoke about 2000 years ago?

"And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God..." Matt. 4:3

"If thou be the Son of God..." Matt. 4:6

Does it make any difference if "command that these stones be made bread" or "cast thyself down" is replaced "regrow an amputated limb"?

But how can it be that GOD will heed the voice of Satan? Will He perform a sign at the request of Satan just to prove Himself?

No.

if u open any bible of that time u will find d 7th day sabbath, d church didnt change a single word of d scripture. Even my bible has d sabbath on it, but it also has 'the lords day' and also tells me that d ordinances and commandments of d old law has been set aside.

The church didnt stop people from reading d bible, actually d church had no reason to do so, only less 5% of d population could read, there was no printing press so every bible was meticulously hand copied by monks. There were actually different edition then, abt 15 german edition which anyone who could afford can buy.

Nobody was killed for reading d bible, but unsanction incorrect translations were offense in many countries.
Continue lying. Read Isa. 58:13 to find out which day is the LORD's.

If the commandments were set aside, then it was not by GOD, because even your hypocritical catholic scholars admit that the Bible enjoins the observance of the Sabbath.

Continue lying.

Just look at this fellow above me. sad

I have always said it: atheists who pose as sole arbiters of knowledge and rationality become incoherent and confused(or start acting ignorant) when you present real logic to them. Is it a surprise that some of the greatest and most logical minds ever to exist believe in and acknowledge the supremacy of GOD?

No. GOD is the source of all knowledge, and the fear of Him is the beginning of Wisdom.

Jesus did not promise us that life on earth will be a bed of roses.

"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." 2 Tim. 3:16

"...In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" Jn. 16:33

But we know that we will live in mansions of gold, whose Builder and Maker is GOD, in that golden city devoid of anything that defiles, in the sweet by and by.

Shame on u.... If u like go and wait for the word shame to fall on ur head and break it... U are asking me to show shame, rubbish.

Don't make the low comprehending capacity of your brain too obvious. Trace this discussion to the first time I quoted you and see that I was only trying to show you that there are things that exist even if we can't see them.

Why should I strive to get a knowledge of the universe? What is the use thereof?

Why should I strive to get a knowledge of the truth? What has the truth to offer? What difference does it make whether I know the truth or not? What is the use of truth?

If the truth is that nobody created the universe and that we are not obliged to any Creator: why should I know? Why are you telling me? Of what benefit is it? Even if it has any benefit, why should I choose that benefit? To better my life? But life is meaningless: why should I even live or try to improve my life? Am I not a random aggregation of matter with no reason for existence?

*******************************

Life is meaningless without GOD.

"For in him we live, and move, and have our being..." Acts 17:28

Outside GOD, life and existence has no reason to be. If we were not created for any purpose, why should we be procreating? Is it good to perpetuate that which has no use?

What is the use of being alive? You say helping others? What is the use of helping others? You say it makes them feel good and gives meaning to my existence? Why should I make anybody feel good? Of what use is it? You say I'll be accepted? Why should I be accepted? Is there any reward for being accepted as good? You say I'm bad for looking for a reward to my good deeds? What difference does it make if I'm bad or good? There's no reward for being good and there's no reward for being bad, right? Nobody cares right? Afterall we're products of blind chance right? What is the yardstick for measuring right or wrong?

If we were just one of those things that happened in the universe, what is the essence of our being? What does our presence add to the universe

Further, do u think I can comfortably place God, the supposed creator of the world , in the same category as shame?

Yea, I know that anybody who doesn't subscribe to your views is daft. That's a very valid logical argument. It is not ad hominem at all.

"Anyone who attempts to construe a personal view of God which conflicts with Church dogma must be burned without pity." - Pope Innocent III

The above are the words of somebody who claimed to be the Vicar of Christ. Please, how many threatening statements like these did Christ make on when He was on earth? How many people did Christ kill when He was on earth? And how many people did He command His disciples to kill?

But the Catholic church killed untold millions through her most abominable inquisition. Can such an organization be led by Christ, who bids us pray for our enemies and do good to them that hate us?
Christianity Etc › Re: The Solemnity Of Christ The King Sunday by DoctorAlien(m): 10:41pm On Nov 21, 2016
It was so terrible then that you were sure of passing through the most barbaric of tortures and death at the hands of catholic inquisitors if you were just accused of being a witch or a heretic, as this articles exposes.

What is more fearful is that those protestants which the Roman Catholic Church mercilessly slaughtered for being protestants during the dark ages, are now playing into the hands of that most evil institution again. They have forgotten that the light of protestantism, as opposed to the grim darkness of papal rule, was bought with the ultimate price of the blood of the reformers.

The Bible which they now join hands with the roman catholic church to relegate was the same Great Light which was brought to them at the cost of much blood.

My people, please, open your eyes. The catholic church is at the head of the current wave of ecumenism sweeping throughout the earth. She wants to restore papal supremacy. Do not be deceived!
Christianity Etc › Re: The Solemnity Of Christ The King Sunday by DoctorAlien(m): 9:20pm On Nov 21, 2016
The Roman catholic church has a well-documented history of barbaric bloodletting. She killed untold millions for refusing to bow to her adulterous practices. Indeed, Dan. 7:5 states that she would wear out the saints of the Most High. You can find a verifiable timeline of the bloody history of the Roman Catholic church here.

The questions you asked are funny, are we playing a linguistic game or what.

1. Are you seriously asking the effects of shame. I won't bother to answer that cause even tour 5 year old nephew knows that

2. This is so funny. I won't even go down this path. Asking how you know its shame that causes something is like me asking you how I know its love that makes you act in a certain way to your siblings.
You are not the only one that doesn't have answers to those questions. Don't worry.

one reason i laugh at atheists is this mentality

i found contradictions in the bible
i did a lot of research
i found out through biased research of the bible and some other articles that the Christian God is false
therefore since the Christian God is false, then no god exists.
now i will look for research information stating that all we see today came from soup.. I'll reject all evidence whatsoever of a creator.. a creator can't exist because i found the Christian god(only) to be a lie.
no matter whatever rational points you bring forth, i won't still accept
i will now stay awake till 3 am in the morning attacking a god i don't believe exists

the above is very typical of most(not all) nairaland atheists

Christianity Etc › Re: Could The Universe Exist Without A Creator? by DoctorAlien(m): 4:37pm On Nov 21, 2016
LiberaDeus,

I'm not a man of much words. Please, when trying to quote me:

1. Go straight to the point. If all that you have to tell me can be squeezed into one sentence, please do so. It doesn't have to be two sentences when one is enough.

2. Don't bring in unnecessary, topic-derailing, additions e.g. telling me how I'm looking for a hole in your argument.

3. If you have nothing meaningful to tell me, don't bother mentioning me.

Thank you.

I think I've succeeded in proving you wrong because you agreed that we cannot see shame but that we can see its effect. It exists then, even though we don't see it, because we see its effects.

1. What are the effects of shame?

2. How are you sure that those combinations of effects are not caused by something other than shame? In essence, prove that shame is the cause of those effects.

Edited.

Bro, the whole God thing is beginning to tiring and useless. THe more I think about it, the more I wonder if these people actually have brain. God is an assumption as the creator for the universe, all of a sudden they claim they know this assumption and talk with it and say different meaningless things about this assumption.
the craziest thing is when a mature man who could be educated makes this statement, "The fact that u dont see anything does not me it is not there." Yet when i tell him I have a blue talking dog, he will definitley not believe me. If i am supposed to believe in God by fate, why should i believe in superman by faith.
Yes, the fact that you don't see anything does not mean it's not there.

Can you show me "shame"?

Is shame not there?

Papist:
That is exactly what Ellen G White, a woman who was mentally unstable, has brainwashed you to believe. Perhaps you need to investigate the genesis of your cult much more instead of basing all your theology on hatred of the Catholic church as espoused by the founder of your cult. Does the Great Disappointment ring a bell?
It is indelibly etched in the sands of time that the Roman Catholic church murdered over 150 million people during the dark ages for refusing to bow to her idolatrous practices. Even people who don't know E. G. White have this knowledge. Any competent historian knows the amount of evil the Catholic church has committed. GOD will pull down that abominable institution in the fullness of time.

The Great Disappointment means nothing bad to us: it in fact served to open our minds towards the greater truths of the Bible, which you don't know(or maybe know but are hell-bent on defending the evil RCC).

GOD will judge all things.
