can you people now see that i've been vindicated. I've said it several times that the minister of aviation is the most clueless individual i've ever seen in my life. in 2012, march to be precise, she mooted the idea of having a national flag carrier and that the carrier would be operational by June last year. When we got to June, she changed it till december and that's the more reason she constructed that GAT TERMINAL so that the carrier could start from there. September last year, she changed gear again that the project might not be feasible for now, and that Nigeria want to make Arik air the flag carrier. We waited from September last year till march this year again. Then the goal post was changed once more, another idea was mooted by this same clueless minister that the whole airline in Nigeria would be crashed together and they would start the national carrier. Then unfortunately, we heard her saying that a national carrier would start by september this year again. i questioned the rationale behind her assertions and how it wouldn't be feasible to have a carrier at that short period. some asslickers here on nairaland started condemning us that whatever the minister says, will definitely be the truth. Now, another round of lies has been told. The carrier wouldn't start by september again, but by end of next year. All this strategy is called DELAY TACTICS in which you buy yourself time and space so that by next year ending, they would use the national carrier project as electioneering campaign. |
Excuse me bro, what you just imply, there are two things involved, its either you dnt understand simple english or you are the one licking jonathan's balls. For crying out loud, performance doesn't mean there wouldn't be corruption. How can the UN said we have eradicated hunger? So everybody in this country is satisfied and contented? If the economy is growing and the people are leaving the country enmasse, what does dat suppose to tell you? Go to the airport and see the number of people leaving this country everyday. For your information, quote me anywhere Yakubu Gowon administration experience massive investment, followed by OBJ's tenure. Check the time and contrast the achievements. Do you want to deny the fact that Nigeria is much more corrupt than even the ranking? From youths to adult, to the elderly ones, they are all corrupt, but dat doesn't mean your disillusioned president aint working to ur taste. If by luck you have a dstv in your house, switch to CNN, BBC, Al-jazeera and any other foreign news channels, you will see how they are mocking and laughing at our stupidity. Our mockery has grown in the comity of nations to the extent that an assistant minister of foreign affairs was sent to receive our president at d airport in china instead of the prime minister. akpanoka: Its funny how people celebrate negative reports. When other non profit organisations said nigeria's econoy was growing geometrically, no body celebrated; when a UN agency said we have eradicated hunger no body clapped. When they said our economy is set to overtake that of south africa, no body danced. When they said Gej has attracted more foreign investment, no thread trended. Now that we are having cassava boom, no voice is being heard. Naija I hail oo |
I was watching channels programme this morning with Chamberlain and the rest co-host. Salient points were mentioned and which are? Why is it that whenever the public, and indeed, amaechi govt raised a cogent point against the commissioner of police, Mba, the state PDP faction is always quick to defend him? Is dat not a master plan from Abuja? Assumming that the state assembly members loyal to amaechi have been suspended, does that also implies that they are no longer a full fledged state legislature? Why would 5 lawmakers, in connivance with the mace bearer, impeached the speaker, and pass a vote of no confidence on the other members. A video was shown where BIPI was addressing thugs. Who cleared the thugs to enter the state assembly complex? Before that day, the speaker of rivers state, petitioned commissioner of police that they needed security for their sittings. After the fracas, the commissioner of police admitted that he got a letter to that effect, but he just felt it wasn't necessary to send police for security....and he admitted it was a 'non challant attitude on his side'.......who's the commissioner obeying? Is the commissioner of police of any state have the right to stop protesters unless they take permit from him? Is it constitutionally lawful to have thugs and cultists elected as public officers? Immediately amaechi arrived the assembly complex, one lawmaker loyal to wike shouted at his aides to shoot Amaechi. Is this not condemnable? In essence, all these questions are very vital. Hon. Loyld no doubt reacted dispropportionaly and in any sane country, that is tantamount to jail sentence. The lawmaker that shouted that amaechi should be shot, he himself should be hanged with immediate effect. From my findings, it seems every elected public servant starting frm local government in rivers states are cultist. They should either be impeached or fired. That's my submission |
Its very pathetic and disgusting seeing your president being ridiculed publicly. But its also more pathetic seeing some idiots and lunatics displaying their stupidity publicly by defending undefensible. They would never see anything negative about our president. May God have mercy |
Edwin clark is arrogating to himself the alpha and the omega of GEJ and Nigeria at large and every well meaning Nigerian should stand up against this elderly man. He's becoming too arrogant |
In as much i wouldn't condemn Goodluck Jonathan's policies over the years, the man has come to surround himself with elements who are head-bent in misleading him. The number one person is CHIEF EDWIN CLARK. Prior to 2011 election, this same Edwin Clark was no where to be found. Rather, OBJ was the key factor that aided the emergence of GEJ. OBJ helped convince the entire country to shun rotational presidency and adopt JONATHAN as the president. The rest is history. immediately GEJ won the election, EDWIN CLARK resurrected from nowhere and started dancing alingo into the eardrum of the president. The man has blindfolded GEJ to the extent that president Jonathan cannot live, eat, drink, think or sleep without him. Likewise, Edwin Clark unilaterally took it upon himself to fight every perceived enemies of Jonathan whether genuine or not and he single-handedly super-impose himself on the Niger Deltans as their elder stateman. Edwin clack took on OBJ, BUHARI, AMAECHI, TINUBU, WAMMAKO, KWAKWANSO, EZEGWEZILI, NASIR-EL-RUFAI, and some other elements that he taught wanted to take GEJ's position. At his recent usual manner, he took on Professor Ben Nwabueze for advising the president on how to go in 2015. Edwin clark referred to Professor Nwabueze as a person camouflaging his political ideas and ambition with intellectualism and also labelling him as unpatriotic saboteur of the democratic process. Yet, Edwin clark was a former student of Professor Nwabueze. Nwabueze taught him in Law at the London university in 1960/1961. If a former student cannot respect his former teacher, i wonder how he started calling himself an elder stateman. For those people supporting GEJ ahead of 2015, you people should caution this loud-mouth calling himself the Godfather of the president. He never contributed a dime to the success of president Goodluck in the 2011 elections. The man is creating more enemies for Jonathan than friends and i want all well meaning people to caution this ethnic bigot. THE IGBOS ARE WATCHING |
Truckpusher: Yes, you're right individuals in SS has acquired a lot of money as well as arms to give a final blow to this mockery called one Nigeria ,come 2015 whichever way the owners of Nigeria wants it they'll get it from the SS and their sympathizers in their struggle for self emancipation and clean up all the mess in the Niger Delta due to oil exploration and exploitation.excuse me boss, you are too daft for mi liking.....damn you |
sorry to digress a little, i did apply to one big airline in Nigeria as a cabin crew, i scaled the first stage till the fourth stage which is the final stage. on the fifth stage which is just the day for the shortlisted people to go and get their appointment letter, the Human resources manager called me aside that my services would not be needed. when i interrogated further to know why despite putting all my bets, it was revealed to me that the person i use as my referee and thee owner of the company are sworn enemies. Infact, i was told that they dare not meet eyeball to eyeball. The perception they had was that the referee wanted to use me as an informant in the airline. That was how i lost the job. That is naija for you where anything can happpen |
Oh Boy, even if Jonathan is your father, i dnt expect you defend him to this extent....shuuuuuuuuu ![]() ? Even if Jonathan is the one feeding your family from the first generation till the fifth generation, it doesn't mean you should you stick your neck to support someone that doesn't even give a damn about you.lemme ask you a question, assuming you are a governor of a particular state, and the wife of the president of that country comes from the same state with you. Just because you wanted to carry out some demolition in some shanties, the wife of the president attacked you publicly and started tongue-lashing you in the presence of everybody, yet the position of the wife of the president is not recognised under the law....how will you feel?......even up till date, the wife never gave personal apology to you......is that right to you? secondly bro, assuming you are working and collecting salary, and your parents mandated you to be keeping your salary with them. infact, they told you that they would be the one to direct you on how to spend the money you saved with them, how will you react? thirdly bro, i saw somewhere where u said it was too early for Amaechi to be campaigning for vice president. You also said his posters flooded everywhere including Abuja. permit me to ask if the same scenario never happened with jonathan. didn't we saw the posters of jonathan for second term? it from the state commissioner of police? who gave this commissioner of police to arrogate this power to himself? am waiting for your answer bro lastly bro, was it written in the constitution that before a group of people could protest, they have to carry a perm thelastPope: You see when you people post these crap, it just shows you are a student or a graduate who passed with cheating and blocking. No ounce of intelligence in these posts. Too petty and mundane. No foundation. Just throwing of insults and baseless character assasination like touts in a motor park. |
pls shut that your mouth and never say something you are not sure of. By profession, am an aeronautical engineer. We've had thousands of aircraft that exploded mid-air without being attacked by rocket or bomb. several times, an aeroplane will pass through volcano ash unknowingly and it would explode and crash, u telling me it was bombed? Severally, mechanical faults has resulted in aeroplanes exploding. infact, some passengers unknowingly, through their careless attitudes, tampered with the mechanical designs of the aeroplane and smoke would start coming out.......dnt just even spit rubbish pls aduboy: Who killed General Azazi and why? Some will say he died of plane crash but I want to let nairalanders know that most aircrafts explode after going down and any that explodes mid air is under rocket or bomb attack. That was General Azazi's case. |
You are so daft to know that receiving your guest at the point of entry is different from giving him a cold reception. In International diplomacy, diplomatic etiquettes bestow it on any president to personally receive his counterpart at the airport. You people are just too illiterate for my liking tayuu: You better shut up,if you don't know tins..didn't you watch the opening ceremony?mr president was duely honoured |
For God sake, can you mention one incidence where such a thing happened? Its like you people dnt even knw whom you are chatting with........ mclaaro: this is a lie, there r many times presidents of other countries come to nigeria and have neva seen a time goodluck came to d airport to receive them, they are always received by d protocol officers of foreign affairs n couple with any available minister,be sure of post bfr you do. |
I could recall the gory incident that happened in february 2007 between the student union and the school management headed by Faborode. Faborode had decided not to give the students lecture free week, but the student union persisted that the lecture free week must be observed. Faborode insisted that no students whatsoever can dictate how to run the school to him. The school management fixed the exam without recognising the lecture free week. On the day of the exams, the student union, led by Saburi, mobilise themselves into the exam venues, moreso, the management has stationed Mobile Policemen in the strategic exam venues. Meanwhile, there's no way the MOPOL could recognise a genuine student frm a fake student. As the exam was going on, the student union boys, me inclusive, we stood up and started breaking bottles on everything we saw. That was how the exam venues throughout the school was cancelled and everybody were chased out of the school, but Awolowo hall students refused to vacate the hall. The management sent in battalion of MOPOL to chase us out from Awolowo hall. That day was orgy and bloody as the students face the MOPOL head-long. Infact, in the bid to send the students away fmr the school premises, countless of professors were beaten and slapped thoroughly. Eventually we gave in, and that was how we spent over 4 months at home. Since then, the stuent union and the school management under faborode were playing cat and mouse games. It got to an extent where the students protested that Faborode be removed as VC and we remembered carrying a casket to Floor O, we chase out the workers and hold faborode to ransom. It was the help of MOPOl that saved him. Countless of these protests and agitations characterised the tenure of faborode. Nevertheless, the most performing VC in the history of OAU up till date is Faborode and I stand to be corrected. OAU has metamorphose into a Dubai of sort with transformations here and there with the networking of Faborode and the alumni. OAU is still the best |
you are just so dumb and retarded. I hope you never show the picture where the chinese prime minister went to the airport to receive jonathan. HammedSodiqq: https://www.nairaland.com/1354229/welcoming-ceremony-president-jonathan-china |
Mr. Man, its like you don't understand what is called INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY. For instance, Obama wnt to visit Nigeria, and Goodluck Jonathan sent Minister of foreign affairs to meet him at the airport, what would you think? This issues is not a matter of being a spoilt brat or not, its the norm of diplomatic etiquettes and it has to be followed strictly. Are you teling us that you are happy that our president, and Nigerians by extension are happy begging for loans and grants here and there when we have so much potentials which are waiting to be harnessed? chidindufrank: Whether monkeys were sent to receive him doesn't change the fact that he is the president of your country. Is a political plus for him to humble himself and shook hands with the low key chinese officials that were sent to welcome him. This event shows that he is not a spoilt brat. The moment you imps put it into your vermin infested skulls that GEJ must complete his God given two tenure, the better for your miserable souls. Ara sachaupu una anya. |
The constitution clearly state it that a former parliamentarian have the right to enter the state house of the assembly complex even when they are in session. Amaechi was a former speaker of Rivers state, and by extension, he have the right to go to the state assembly complex. secondly, the person vested by the constitution to restore law and order in a state is the state governor and not the commissioner of police. The governor is the chief security officer of the state. In as much i wouldn't support hooliganism and gangsterism, the video i watched on channels news never state that amaechi went to the complex to beat or arrest the 5 lawmakers, rather, he went there to arrest the situation as the chief security officer of the state. That's my opinion though......but these functions are stated in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria noblezone: In other words, you will support Jonathan going to the National assembly to fight for his "loyalists in the assembly are about to be suspended"? |
i was given Angola hall in part 1, i sold it to buy a space in block 6, room 172, awo hall. I stayed in that single room from 100 level till my graduation day making me the longest serving student in a room... ![]() i was both the de-facto and de-jure ruler of that block 6 and i remember forming a committee called the COUNCIL OF ELDERS FOR BLOCK 6 ALONE. I really enjoy my life to the extent that i dnt cook nor wash my clothes again. For the benefit of hindsight, Awolowo hall is the only student hall where a student can sustain himself even without a penny in his pocket. I have seen so many Awoites who had no financial strength to feed themselves, yet, they live to enjoy themselves because awo hall is known for sharing things with room mates. dayokanu: I lived in Awo too Block 3 room 76 and we faced lock 2 everyday |
I can say it with every form of modesty that OAU is the onyl university in Nigeria, apparently government owned university that is CULT-FREE. OAU is the only university in Nigeria up to this present moment that every students is a stakeholder in maintaining peace and order in the campus. Countless times without numbers that the SECURITY COMMITTEE OF THE STUDENT UNION went to arrest cultists even outside the campus and i was a member then. OAU is the only university in Nigeria that gives you the liberty to express yourself without anybody intimidating you or forcing you to coercion. Throughout my 4 years studies in OAU, i have never heard that a cultist killed or kidnap any students. That's the kind of fresh breeze we have up til date in OAU.
Afam with STUPIDI.TY! What is losing steam? When did OAU lose steam? Well, how can you far away in your remote village know more than us who actually schooled in Ife and still had Congress @ Amphi? Your low-lifeness is so DISGUSTING!
|
sanniemoe: Abeg, broses I was quite young then. What happened? From my own knowledge of cultism,I know cult group fight rival groups only,so what could have led to the shooting spree? Why were these guys killed? For someone to be shot and axed, that means the person was a rival.. Can someone please shed more light hereBROS, lemme explain the little i knw about the incidence to you for your understanding. Before 1999 incidence, OAU is the headquarters of cult groups. The cult groups were very oppressive and aggressive. The students studied under fear and threat to peace and safety. It got to a stage that nobody could stand up to face these cultists. Then, Iwilade came to the fore. He was a law student and immediately he got admitted, he joined the student union and was very proactive. As a law student, the students were suppose to be in black and white dress code, but he refuse this dress code and opted for native dress which single him out from the masses. The lecturers frustrated him because of this dress code and thereafter, he sue the school management and faculty of law to court stressing that he has the right to wear anything he felt he loved. He unilaterally won this case through the instrumentality of Gani Fawehinmi. From this time onward, he was seen as a thorn in the flesh of the school management. Immediately he became the secretary of the student union, he rallied the students against the cultists. i was tod that because his father was an herbalist, he(iwilade) was able to confront these cultists head-long. Before you know it, the cultists from other institutions felt threatened by this single boy and decided to deal with him. So a plan was deviced to strike on the day of WORLD KEGGITE DAY because they knew that iwilade was a prominent member of the group. On the day of this keggite day, Iwilade was so drunk that he has to be taken to his room to sleep being late in the night. immediately afterwards, the cultists struck and made way to iwilade's room and killed him. On the day of his burial, he's father said had it been that his son was not drunk, nobody can ever kill him. contrary to this story, there was no love lost between the VC and Iwilade and we were told that the VC was head-bent to take iwilade out of his way, and the plan was executed with mastery. AJE KE LANA, OMO KU LONI......TA NI KO MO PE AJE ANA LO PA OMO JEE THAT'S MY SUBMISSION |
This tends to show the level of ridicule Nigeria have been subjected to in recent years. You can never see Jacob Zuman travelling to any country, and the host country would send someone to receive zuma, it has never happen before. The minister of foreign affairs should tell us why Nigeria's ego was insulted, and our president turned to a mere local government chairman with an assistant foreign affairs sent to welcome him. Lest I forget, I was told that Jonathan went to China with his wife, 13 ministers and 5 governors just to seek for 3billion dollars loan. Is this not barbaric and incorrigible? Who foot the bills of the travelling? Nigeria is as hopeless as anything. I guess our president is not assertive and affirmative. During OBJ era, he was never received by any minister at the airport other than the host president or prime minister. Obasanjo was soinfluential and powerful that any country he's going to, the host country always give their maximum allegiance and support to him right frm the airport. Jonathan need to imbibe this mentality and stop being ridiculed by these CHINKOS |
While am not here condemning the motives of President Goodluck Jonathan going to China to seek for loan, am very disappointed and ashamed to be called an African man, a Nigerian, and by extension, a Yoruba man for that matter, for the inferior reception being given to the President. Reading all the newspapers today, i saw that President Jonathan was received at the airport by the Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister, and our dear President was seen smiling towards the guest. Its a global phenomenon that whenever a president of any country is going to another country for a visit or business, the host president would as a matter of reception, go to the airport to receive the president irrespective of the country the president is heading. I am very worried and disturbed that our president can be subjected to this charade of shame called reception. Nevertheless, had it mean Nigeria has live up to its name, our president wouldn't have been subjected to this humiliation. I heard our president is in China to seek for 3billion dollars when in the first place, we have so many things we can use in this country to generate such amount. The amount being realised by the oil bunkerers every month is more than 3billion dollars. If our president can be given this kind of reception, i wonder what manner of reception they would give to an ordinary man. My candid advice for everybody is that we should look inward and solve our problems instead of travelling far and wide to seek for loans. It is high time we harness our natural resources so that we can generate more financial strength to cater for our financial needs. THANK YOU ALL |
ezeagu: Name a well-known inter-Igbo conflict. When enugu state governor, sullivan chime sent packing civil servants from the state ministries who are frm abia state. The following week, theordore orji of abia state follow suit. That's an intra-ethnic conflict. Moreso, I learnt imo govt sent some people packing frm the state. This can never happen with the yorubas cos we see ourselves as Omoluwabi |
Pride goes before a fall. If achebe could attest to the fact that an average IGBO man is very arrogant, then we can conclude from the comments coming from the mouths of our dear friends dat the tag is justifiable. There is no other tribe in Nigeria that is as hardworking as Yorubas. Wherever you find the Yorubas, you see them doing their business without malice and hindrance to any competitors. There is no sector in this country that Yorubas are not well represented. Mention telecommunication, banking, oil and gas, insurance, real estate, transportation, politics, education, maritime, aviation, etc. Therefore, it would be preposterous, incorrigible and incongruous for some set of people to be ridiculing other tribes, especially the yorubas. The last time I check, the Yorubas have the biggest investment outside this country spread across the globe, but you can never see them flaunt it. Let it be clear to you all that the most disunited ethnic group in this country is definitely the IGBOS. Between 1999 and 2007 when they were given the senate presidency slot, they almost killed themselves cos of the post and change the senate president like changing menstrual pads. When the PDP national chairman was alloted to them too, they even go to the extent of dragging themselves to court. Are these the same set of people that want to develop their eastern area? May God Have Mercy |
reading all the comments here, may God have mercy on you people. You people are busy ranting and panting of dividing this country, your leaders are busy in abuja sharing and cutting the millions and billions. FYI, from my research, you can never see a rich man to be discussing about Nigeria breaking....hell no. Its this poverty-minded poor individuals on Nairaland that are shouting and panting. I know the moment these imbeciles are called to abuja for contracts, they will never dream of Nigeria dividing again. Am saying it and i will continue saying it, thousands of weddings and marriages are being carried out in Nigeria everyday. Nigerians are doing inter-tribal marriages and it would be very difficult for you to break this country. Our leaders have nationalistic mindset and they will never fall for this charade. The moment that bastard called Lord Lugard joined us together, this country has gone into into inseperable marriage and no bastard dare seperate us.......you imbeciles footing and shooting nonsense from your mouths aparently cos you are poor or poverty-stricken should go to hell while your brothers continue to make money in Lagos and every other places in the world |

Growing up in the 80s and 90s, Christmass holiday period is the time when every or most xtians travel to their towns and villages in order to connect with their families. This period also coincide with a season when every member of the family from far and wide come together to share the feelings and joy of the moment. Growing up, we do slaughter a cow on the 24th of december in d presence of every member of the family. In this scenario, the wives would cook, the guys would be in charge of the meat, the men or d fathers would make sure that beer and wine flows in the right proportion...lol..... Every body would eat and make merry to his or her satisfaction. On the 25th of december which is xmas day, everybody would be in his best dresses. The children would visit their peers frm another family members. Money and food would be given to us and its always fun and fun..... Whenever I remember those periods, I use to wonder if such a period can be revitalised again......kindly share ur xmas childhood experience |
Sincere 9gerian: There's nothing as sweet as being on the side of the WINNING TEAM. I have NEVER supported any Nigeria politician (at the federal level) all my life. GEJ is the first and maybe the last.Point of observation sire, have you ever been told that under GEJ, air crash/mishap experienced upward progression? Between 2009 when GEJ became d acting presido and May,2013, the air crashes between that period dwarf the crashes experienced under sanni abacha and OBJ administrations. If not for the population of Nigeria that is sustaining our airports, our airports would have packed down and collapse. Under GEJ, airlines continue to die one after the other despite the astronomical intervention money released to the airlines, yet no culprit has been brought to book. FYI sire, in case you dnt knw, no local airports in Nigeria would you see any aeroplane landing by 9.00pm because of poor visibility and deficient facilities to aid navigation of aeroplanes by night. FYI sir, all the airports in Nigeria, minus Lagos and Abuja, the rest combined does not measure up to Kotoka airport in Ghana despite billions of Naira spent on them for re-modelling. For your information sir, have you ever been told that the expatriates pilots will never fly to any local airports in Nigeria except Lagos, abuja, uyo, kano and PHC, reason being that dey've lost confidence at d level of poor infrastructures at d airports. In case you dnt knw sir, up till dis minute, there is no single functioning AC or ceiling fan at d international airport of Lagos(MMA), PHC and Kano? In case you dnt knw sir, jimoh ibrahim collapse air nigeria despite collecting over 30billion naira for re-fleeting of air nigeria aeroplanes frm AMCON, yet, he's still walking the street of Lagos and d money still with him, apparently, he's one of those guys dat sponsored Jonathan financially to aso rock...... Sir, d least goes on and on. These facts might be wrong. Or fallacy to you, but that is the fact I can tell you cos I work with NCAA |
looking at the map clearly, it depicts arrogance and deceit. These Igbo bigots will go at any length to claim Niger-delta as part of IGBO...FYI, IGBO is different frm NIGER DELTA and so shall it be.....any attempt to bring NIGER-DELTA under the useless influnce of IGBOS shall be met with perpendicular and alternate force....a word is enough for the wise.....everybody should answer the name of his father |
