austine4real:I have learnt something very important in life, very important : All you have to do is the good and right thing, what the receiver of your action does or how they treat you back is not relevant. Spread goodness and compassion, that's what counts. Your deeds are more important than what is done to you, because whether you believe it or not, good or bad, you would get your reward in multiple folds according to your deeds and intentions. |
Nigerians are very good at under-pricing labor and effort , trust me, dem full here for Nairaland One said he wanted an e-commerce website job done , to be built from scratch , this would take me like 2 months at least, baba said his budget was 20k, I asked him if he meant 200k (even though this is still small for the detail he wanted), he typed it in full "Lol, I mean twenty thousand Naira oo " I have plenty stories like this, one wanted an android app and wanted to pay 3k, I kid you not, job of at least 2-3 months and he was serious !!!I charged another one for an app of 4 months or so, he asked me if we wanted to buy land , insinuating that "is it not ordinary app" . This is why almost everything around us is mediocre, most Nigerians don't understand the value of things, the annoying thing is, some so called wealthy people also do this. An average developer in other countries, earns nothing less than $15k-$50k per month. Those are people who understand value. I heard of a Nigerian tech company, the man collected millions for a project and paid the developer that did the job, if I remember well, 30k !!!! ... Some people will not make heaven in this life, no be curse. This is why I chose to go freelance, I can choose who I work with. No matter how broke I may be, if the amount you want to pay isn't worth the stress, I politely turn you down...I learnt the hard way that the cheap people are always the most problematic...And its like that every where, cheap people have a very nauseating sense of entitlement. One client was even threatening me after I did much more than the client paid for even after I did other free extra work on top of the work and stress that wasn't even worth the price paid, just so I can keep a good name . SIDE NOTE: If you work freelance, or provide any service, ALWAYS have a signed agreement of the list of features and price to be paid, if you think only service providers are dishonest, think again, some customers are scammers too, they would lay claims to something that was never agreed upon, for the same cheap price. We can do better. All this acts stem from selfishness and self-centeredness . We need to become more selfless and put ourselves in other peoples shoes, "If it was me, would I like to be treated this way " ? |

No you don't need to buy software....It depends on the software you need . Nowadays a lot of software are free. As a programmer you would hardly buy any, I may be wrong though. But in most cases, there is always a free alternative . Jerchance: |
otokx:That one na privatization for paper. The government still controls most of the power sector from generation to distribution, directly or indirectly . I can't wait to have 24/7 power. Its really sad. |
passendi:Still available ? |
please do We almost had a "fight" with IBEDC officials today. Every month they keep increasing the bill, yet power keeps getting worse. Its very annoying. The entire power sector should be privatized. Look at what happened in the telecom sector, competition has forced them to render better and cheaper services over time. Fix power in Nigeria and see the economy pick up. The Nigerian government likes being penny wise, pound foolish, just to extort the average Nigerian . As a work-from-home programmer , I can just imagine how much I would have spent on fuel if I didn't wake up on time to get an inverter . How can I be paying for something that is almost non-existent

If you can afford it, please buy a macbook ..Especially if you would want to go into IOS development |
LearnITsmash:How long did it take for your order to be delivered ? |
Monlo:Where can I get it to buy please ? Thanks for your response, the only places I have seen it for sale, it needs to be shipped from abroad. Not sure if I can wait, neither am I sure if its safe to ship from abroad at the moment with all the restriction of movement all over the world. |
Whatever you do, if you would be running a serious business or site, I would encourage you to go for an international hosting company. Not trying to bash Nigerian hosting companies, but they give you less features for almost the same amount of money international companies charge. I would recommend namecheap |
The way people stress themselves over things they shouldn't, na wa . |
O japa !! ![]() |
money121:Awesome ! |
Congrats !!!. DO you have a website for your business ? Other social platforms ? It would give your business a more professional look I can build a good one for you ! |
Monlo:Where can I get it to buy without buying from an international website, or shipping from abroad. By Hybrid you mean its an android tv box and can be used as free to air right ? How many channels to do you get on it . I appreciate your response . |
sauceEEP:Ok thanks, I appreciate your response ...What about other streaming platforms ? |
Does anyone have KII Pro , Mecool ?? |
Hi guys , is the strong SRT 2022 sold in Nigeria ? I have searched for it, but can't find it |
sauceEEP:Can it play movies from a flash drive ? I can see that it can connect to the internet, can it be used to stream from Youtube for example ? Is there any good FTA decoder with android box capabilities ? I want to be able to play games if possible or stream from netflix.....There are some options I have seen, but they have to be imported, I wanted something I can buy from a shop or delivered locally. Sorry for bugging you, I just need some insights |
Bade007:You can do without frameworks, they aren't compulsory Frameworks help you build faster |
Ayinke93:Battery life ? Clearer pictures too please |
stanliwise:You are being unnecessarily analytical, in the real world nobody cares about the internal structure of things, your result is what matters. Why re-inventing the "internal structure", when it has already been done for you. If you look under the hood, everything has an internal structure, so should we start re-inventing all of them ? A good programmer keeps things as simple as possible, as long as the result is the same and it doesn't affect performance. Besides, I never said loops are bad, I use them practically everyday. My point is in some cases there are faster ways to do things than using loops directly. |
stanliwise:I know loops are great but as one goes on in programming, you would have to find quicker ways to solve problems . Something as simple as sum() would sum up the scores, depending on the data type or origin. |
manuel4real:Imagine you are trying to fill a bucket with a bowl, taking water from a big drum . You would keep scooping from the drum with the bowl until the bucket is full. So a loop is a repetitive action until the aim is achieved, once the aim is achieved, the action (in this case, filling the bucket) is terminated. This is a layman simplified real-world explanation . In coding, an example where it can be used is : For example you have a system where you want to sum up all the scores of all the courses a student does : You can loop through all the scores and keep adding it up until its done . Although there are better ways of adding this up instead of using a loop, but that's one way you can use it. |
salinson:it depends on what you want to use it for . What do you need the laptop for, what's the purpose ? |
gentlekay2017:You lost your peace because you are a human being and you have feelings. Its normal. But there comes a time in ones life when you put feelings aside and do what is right, what is necessary, what is paramount . |
Your are not wrong in anyway for the way you handled things A wife is supposed to be a partner, she doesn't seem like one . As you have said, give her time to also re-access if she is willing to be a partner and support you. Sometimes support isn't about giving cash. Emotional support, limited/reduced financial demands, encouragement would go a long way in supporting ones partner, especially one who is trying to build a business. Don't feel guilty or bad, as long as you were not rude to her. Because if you spend all your money funding her needs, without adequately investing in your business, if it crashes, the relationship would crash with it too, since you would no longer be able to grant her requests. Wisdom is needed here. Don't place the cart before the horse . Don't pour water in a basket . Don't waste limited water, watering a stone, it won't grow. Don't put your full weight on a match stick, it would break. If she realizes her mistakes and actually starts contributing to your growth, even if its as little as "I believe in you" and reducing her demands, then you should reconsider and take her back. If she doesn't, share the grace. ![]()

Plot twist, she knows both of you are friends, but she just wants to destroy your destinies and infect you with all manner of STDs, spiritual and physical . ![]() I don't know how people comfortably live this kind of lifestyle without fear for their lives or future . Don't take unnecessary risks , just because of few minutes of pleasure .
