Okija_juju: Erm....Are you for real or just a joker? |
No wonder okorocha is the only south east governor to have joined APC. I feel sorry for the remaining SE states for siding with Jonathan. When JonaThan is kicked out of office these SE PDP states will have only themselves to blame for their isolation. |
ewet: Where you not the one tht posted the topic? It is obvious you are trying to misinform the public.I for one do not like the 1st ladies attitude and i am obviously not a fan of her husband. But i will rater apply objectivity in driving home my point into making people see why thy shuld not vote GEJ rather than cheap blackmail and whipping up sentiments has you are doing.Did you just accuse me of misinforming the public? That means i lied about something the first lady said. Kindly point out my 'misinformation' please. Am waiting. |
kaeto: you are free to do your bitter bigotry but be very proud of your yoruba ancestry and identity, we are not fooled. You yoruba's are just unbearable, you think the emergence of buhari will create employment for you and solve all your problems? I just feel for lazy lots who solely depend on government for succur.Dim witted arguments like yours just make me sick. So we shouldn't depend on gov't for succour right? What's the govt there for if we can't or shouldn't depend on them. If your talking about being self reliant won't you need good roads, security, social amenities, electricity et al? Rubbish. |
kaeto: the north doesn't even have a choice because the pdp primaries will be a very smoot run for GEJ. With the support of the entire ss/se/sw and 90% support of the north central and the other states like adamawa, nasarawa, sokoto, katsina and bauchi where GEJ holds sway the pdp, i don't see why losers from the north chose to be deliberately blind. Opposing GEJ in the primaries will mean destroying your future political dreams just like atiku now is suffering from political leprosy and isolation. The north should be patient untill 2027 because no body trusts or is comfortable with her anymore, that's all.If this is GEJ's thinking then he's in for a rude shock come PDP primaries next year. |
ewet: So where did you hear the first lady categorically insult the north. Please cut this woman some slack. she has suffered enuf already.Hear her(PEJ):, "Iam here to thank and appreciate the role you and my people of Rivers state played in defeating the NORTHERN PEOPLE in 2011 election. Rivers people voted massively for my husband. I am your daughter and my husband is your son. I want you to support him again in 2015, I know you will not disappoint us. We, on our part we will never forget you" Need i say more? |
mooregan: Please fellow Nigerians, do no allow ur emotions to cloud ur judgment, or better still, read well b4 commenting. Madam Patience NEVER said anything about de north, its de Traditional Ruler that did. So u pple should stop accusing her wrongly. And she has every right to canvass support for her husband from her people, every responsible woman does. I'm an Akwa Ibomite and our 1st lady is an Ibo woman, but yet still, she canvassed support for her husband's 2nd term bid from her fellow ibos, so its normal. Are you aware that INEC has banned all forms of politicking for 2015? Shouldn't madam umbrella lead by example as the mother of the nation? |
omongbatic: You half-educated ogbomosho man.2015 will determine who is half-educated. Let's wait and see. |
The Republic of SS/SE has been having sleepless nights ever since the formation of APC. That's why agents have been sent to insult the SW for daring to align with the North. Continue your insults. We shall see if the SS/SE votes will be enough to return GEJ to power. |
This OP must either be from the SS/SE. Only they can open such foolish threads. |
MOD why do you keep sending these type of threads to front page. Threads like these do nothing but promote rabid materialism in our youths. Little wonder even the youths of today are aiming for public offices to steal billions. |
What the hell does that mean? Stray bullet? This officer should simply be shot as well. Period. This impunity by uniformed officers has simply got to stop. |
OP don't waste your breath. These christians have already been brainwashed by pastor ayo oritsejafor and his fellow pentecostal crooks to hate buhari. It's a shame we can't depend on christians to transform this country as they keep giving us one bad leader after another. I have asked my christian friends since they hate buhari for being a muslim, why can't they give nigeria a christian who can turn this country like buhari can. The answer is deafening silence. The christian flock is lost. Shame. |
Jonathan promised to end Boko Haram urgency since June last year. OP why the deliberate distortion of facts? And who told you Boko Haram has been crushed? Perhaps you are living on another planet. Besides is that the only mandate of GEJ? To fight Boko Haram? What about corruption? What about social infrastructure? What about jobs? Come on OP. Don't sugar coat things. Gej is a colossal failure. |
taharqa2: PROPAGANDA ALERT: This is d latest in d recent desparent move by Power Mongers and Haters, rep here on NL by their Resident Goons ie Gbawe and Co, to push articles that are either Complete Lies Or clear distortion of what was been said, in order to attack GEJ since are not currently going according to plan. Yterday, these same people penned an article in which they said Former Ghanian President, Rawlings, said d GEJ Admin was d Most corrupt in Africa. Many of us caught them in that shameless lie which was a complete distortion of d lecture Rawlings gave (in fact, they shamelessly CHANGED Rawlings own words to serve their purpose). It was so bad that Rawlings himself had to angrily write a Complete Denial of d words in d said speech, openly calling PT and co 'shameless LIARS'. I dont hv to tell any one that these people had since ran away from that their own thread.... For emphasis, No where in d Article linkd did d First Lady say any thing remotely related or even suggesting 'declaration of war on d North'. REPEAT: no where in d article. Whateva d OP wrote is only a figment of his imagination that he deliberately penned to deceive WEAK/GULLIBLE. And judging by sm of d responses here so far, there are plenty of such on NL...How much are you paid to defend the indefensible? Because the First Lady didn't say that but she was there when the statement was made wasn't she? Or are you not aware that silence means tacit approval? Rubbish. |
Lordave: are the northerners any better than she is in grammar?Another regional bigot. SMH. ![]() |
Lordave: How is Patience campaigning for GEJ a war declaration on the north. You people should take time to choose a title before opening a thread.Mumu. What did they mean by anyone who doesnt support GEJ is a sell out to the north? Park well jare |
Let us see now if your precious GEJ can win even the PDP primaries without northern support. Let the battle begin. |
First Lady Kicks off Re-election Campaign for Jonathan https://serving.thisdaylive.com/0bef99d6-acf5-4e2c-9779-8fa02ba3fcd4/assets/Dame-Patience-Jonathan-1710.jpg?maxwidth=400&maxheight=540 • Amaechi, others absent from Mrs. Jonathan's programmehttp://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/first-lady-kicks-off-re-election-campaign-for-jonathan/150960/ What nerve! Patience Jonathan declares war on the North. Patience Jonathan was in Rivers State yesterday where she campaigned for her husband's reelection even though GEJ is yet to declare his intention to run. During her meeting with a traditional ruler in the state they agreed that anyone who did not support GEJ has sold himself to the north. When did the north stoop so low that a South South citizen dares insult us? 2015. |
Please Uruguay make una no embarass us too much. Make una score only 3 goals issokay. |
Such shame. This happens routinely in the north. Unfortunately this can never happen in the south. I just wonder why you southerners hate us so much. |
Last week, on June 8, 2013, marked the death of Nigeria’s military ruler, General Sani Abacha. Some of the tributes I have read about the General, however, appeared to have ignored his role in the promotionof peace and stability in Africa, especially in Sierra Leone and Liberia, which were enmeshed in fratricidal wars and struggle for power by individual warlords. The political crises in Sierra Leone and Liberia were Abacha’s first major test in international affairs. In fact, he wowed even the Western nations that had originally written him off merely as a power-hungry General. However, the manner Abacha gave a good account of himself by restoring peace and stability in Sierra Leone and Liberia had forced his critics, at least privately, to re-examine their attitude towards a military rulerthey dismissed as a man “who had nothing to offer.” The late General Abacha disappointed them by the effective way he asserted himself and forced his critics to open their eyes to re-think. Until Abacha’s intervention, Liberia was at the mercy of warlords. Worse still, Nigerians were facing hostility from Liberians because of the perception that Nigeria’s intervention in 1990 was designed to keep the late Liberian leader, General Samuel Doe in power. Many rebel leaders and their supporters believed that Nigeria’s interest was to protect Doe and frustraterebel advances to oust him from power. Such perception had created a credibility problem for Nigeria. When General Abacha came to power, however, he took measures to convince the warning factions that his government had no candidate inLiberia. Abacha laid the foundation for restoring Nigeria’s credibility in Liberia, which ultimately persuade the rebel groups to lay down their arms and seek power through the democratic process. General Abacha’s role in Sierra Leone was just as impressive. The United Revolutionary Front (RUF), led by late Captain Kuroma, overthrew a democratically elected government in Sierra Leone, headed by Alhaji Ahmed Tijjan Kabbah. Nigeria rejected the disruption of the democratic process and intervened decisively to force the rebels outof power. Ahmed Kabbah was restored to power, which led to stability that paved the way for future democratic elections. Even Abacha’s incurable critics must admit that the late military Head of State was extraordinarily courageous. General Abacha defied the 10-year-long international air embargo imposed on Libya and flew into Tripoli to demonstrate solidarity with the late Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Ghaddafi. Many African leaders found their voices after the solidarity visit to Libya by Abacha. Although many African leaders believed that the air embargo was unjustly too long and oppressive, none of them had the spunk to take the initiative to defy the sanctions. It took General Abacha to make them summon the courage to call for an end to the air embargo. Commitment to the embargo or compliance with it collapsed naturally after Abacha’s defiant official visit to Libya by air. The Western nations had perceived Abacha as “stubborn” and “arrogant,” but such was the only posture necessary in dealing with powerful countries that expect smaller nations to grovel at their feet to beg for mercy or life. Gen Abacha would have none of that. It was not surprising, therefore, why the Western nations were not comfortable with his leadership style. According to a Latin American political scholar, “Smaller nations if adequately organized and led can defend their independence.” Subservience was not in Gen. Abacha’s politicaldictionary. When the Western nations imposed limited sanctions on Nigeria to punish the Abacha administration, the General turned to China to do business. In fact, because of their economic interests, they were not united on the issue. France chose to do business withNigeria, despite the so-called sanctions. Prejudice stands in the way of objectivity and fairness in the assessment of others. In the eyes of Abacha’s enemies, nothing good can be attributed to his administration. Fair-minded Nigerians, therefore, have a duty to bring out the good things he did for Nigeria. Prejudice cannot stand in the face of solid facts, even if Abacha’s critics pretend not to see those achievements. Abacha’s critics are hypocrites who cannot see the chinks in their own moral armour.

I just got a message in my email address purportedly from KPMG group inviting me to their aptitude test on the 8th of june. Has anyone received same? I just hope it's not a scam. |
An innocent man freed this week after serving 23 years in prison for a murder he did not commit has suffered a serious heartattack just hours after his release. David Ranta was sentenced to 37 years behind bars after being convicted in 1991 of killing an Orthodox Jewish rabbi during a botched robbery. He always maintained hisinnocence, and was released on Thursday. On Friday night, the 58-year-old was rushedto a New York hospital after suffering a heart attack. He has undergone one surgicalprocedure and is set to undergo another, according to US reports.

confusion247: Fools, murderers, undertakers are sounding so pathetic. After they were unable to achieve their aim with boko haram, now they thought that they can unify northerners against Jonathan. What will be the fate of Christians in their hypocritical unification? Will this hypocritical unification stop fulani herdsmen to take it easy with Gowon and his people? What gives northerners the hope to think that Nigeria will last beyond 2014 going by the rate they are killing the Igbos? So the Igbos will just sit back and watch them continue with this killing spray of their brothers in the so called one Nigeria? So there are fools who still believe the current BH is a creation of the north? Why would northerners create a monster that will destroy their region thus making it possible for the retardeen to rig the 2015 elections in the north? Do you people really think we're that dumb? GEJ is boko haram. And he'll be headed straight to jail in 2015. |
I have always loved twins and today i found a story about a set of twins that were born 2 months apart. The first baby was delivered because of an infection in the womb. The second baby was kept inside by a process called delayed interval delivery. Adam, the first baby to be delivered arrived at 25 weeks gestation weighing 1lb 9 ozs. When Jayson, the second baby, was delivered 9 weeks later he weighed 4 1/2 lbs. At that point only ounces separated the two brothers. Jayson remained in the hospital for a couple weeks and now Adam has joined him at home. When I first saw the story I though it was amazing and unique. While searching the net to get more info I realized that it was more common that I thought. Last year a Romanian mother, who has a rare congenital condition that gave her two uteruses, gave birth to twins separated by 2 months as well. These are the record holders for the longestinterval between twins. Mrs. Peggy Lynn gave birth to Hanna on November 11 1995 and twin Eric on Feb 2 1996, 84 days later. The previous record was held by Mrs. DannyBerg Italy, who had Diana on December 23 1987 and her twin Monica on January 30 1988, 38 days later. There is apparently a"Keys" family of Louisiana had their twins 95 days apart, in 1994 and 1995. The good part is that you don't have to share a birthday with someone else. These babies will all get to have their own special day to celebrate their exciting entrance into the world. Source: http://growingyourbaby..com/2006/08/twins-born-2-months-apart.html |
The Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF) has sounded a warning to President Goodluck Jonathan, telling him that he would have to contend with a unified north should he insist on seeking another term in 2015. NEF spokesman, Prof Ango Abdullahi, gave this warning yesterday in Kaduna during an exclusive interview with our correspondent. Commenting on why the north is putting its act together in order to present a formidable team, Abdullahi said, “We are trying now to unify our people (northerners) that have been divided along ethnic and religious lines in the last two years. And very soon you will hear the north talking from one platform. “President Jonathan should just be ready to either park out or jump out of Aso Rock.He should be ready to fight a unified northin 2015.” He further expressed the group’s belief that the insurgency in the north was being fuelled as a strategy to stigmatise the region. “From all indications, the president has already stigmatised some parts of the country as being Boko Haram, and that everything about the violence in the north must be Boko Haram, but we know that the original Boko Haram by Mohammed Yusuf is not solely responsiblefor all the bombings that have been taking place. “The Boko Haram syndrome may be a strategic plan to portray the north as morally unfit to rule; it is also a strategic plan to divide the country along north andsouth, or along religious and ethnic lines,” he said, adding that those behind such evil act would regret their actions in due time. Abdullahi, a former vice chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zarai, further claimed that President Jonathan was always known as somebody who likes to take sides. According to him, “Jonathan is only a theoretical president of Nigeria; but, practically, he has demonstrated that he is a president of a section of the country. He has always spoken in defence of his Niger Delta people. He is always fond of exonerating his people. “You can see a president exonerating a criminal such as the October 1 bombings in 2010. He has also come out to say that Boko Haram has infiltrated his government, and that Boko Haram members are in his government, the Army, the Police and even in the Villa. Thiswe know is a strategy to stigmatise any candidate from the north come 2015.” On whether Jonathan should contest the 2015 presidential election, Abdullahi said, “Whether Jonathan is free to contest the 2015 election or not is the business of Bamagan Tukur; all we are hoping is that he is not speaking on behalf of the people of the north. “If Bamagan Tukur is familiar with the history of zoning by his party since 1999, one would be surprised that Bamagan Tukur, who comes from this part of the country, is talking about Jonathan contesting election in 2015. But then, that is the business of the PDP. The people of north would certainly take adecision to bring a consensus candidate come 2015.” He further argued that the region should be allowed to conclude its eight years andanything short of that would not be acceptable. “The north gave former President Olusegun Obasanjo his full eight years; it is only normal that the north should be allowed to conclude our eight years, started by the late President Umaru Yar’Adua,” he said. On Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu’s insistence that President Jonathan had signed a one-term agreement, Abdullahi said that the governor’s revelation may be have emanated from the pressure being mounted on the governors by the northerners. “Thank God, Babangida has revealed that there was a pact between the governors and Jonathan that they would support him in 2011 election on condition that he will only do one term. It is now time for other northern governors to follow suit because there will be more pressure from northerners. They have to come together and listen to the voice of the people,” he added. Billyonaire: When will they stop ? When they destroy their North ? Well, I think we should be calm and let them destroy their North and all that the ND oil money was used to build. Afterwards, we end the marriage and let them re-build the North from the sales of groundnut and Cattle. Best way to win this war, should be the silence of the media. Terrorists love to hear their havoc on the media, without publicity, they lose their egotism. This is how most southerners on NL think. Shame. |
Is anyone in doubt as to the contempt with which the PDP treats Nigerians? As for the fools who still defend this useless gov't. Know this, the PDP operational motto is: they don't give a damn about Nigerians. |
In what many are calling a political mathematical blunder, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, has said that recently pardoned ex-convict DSP Alamieyeseigha would have still been qualified to partake ofthe 2015 elections if a pardon had not been granted.
“Whether President Jonathan grants him pardon or not, by 2015, he will be fully qualify and eligible to run for election in 2016. I mean, if it is done now, what difference does it make? People are talking to me about timing. This is something that in the next two or three years will really expire and he will be a free man,” Okupe said. Okupe, stated this during a press conference in Abuja, where he also said rights and privileges of Alamieyeseigha hadbeen restored with the pardon, adding that he could now pursue any calling of his choice. “If a man is granted presidential pardon, all his rights and privileges are returned to him. He can sell groundnut, he can do business, he can go into politics, he can go abroad, he can do whatever he likes,” he said. The problem is 2006 – 2015 is only nine years, so in fact the ex-convict Governor didneed the pardon to be incontroversially eligible to contest in 2015. The Paris Saint-Germain star is the world's wealthiest footballer with a staggering networth of £175m, ahead of Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo Paris Saint-Germain's David Beckham has topped the inaugural Goal Rich List 2013 with a staggering net worth of £175 million. Beckham finished some £59.5m ahead of his nearest rival, Barcelona phenomenon Lionel Messi (£115.5m), who in turn pipped Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (£112m) for the runner-up spot. GOAL RICH LIST TOP FIVE 1 David Beckham Paris Saint-Germain £175m 2 Lionel Messi Barcelona £115.5m 3 Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid £112m 4 Kaka Real Madrid £66.5m 5 Ronaldinho Atletico Mineiro £63m Meanwhile, despite finding first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Santiago Bernabeu in recent times, Kaka still finds himself in fourth spot (£66.5m), with Ronaldinho (£63m) just behind in fifth. Each player's net worth was calculated based on salary, endorsements and assets,as well as taking outside business interests into consideration. Beckham emerged comfortably on top in spite of the fact he will not earn a penny atPSG in terms of salary - which is being donated to a local children's charity - image rights or merchandising. Commenting on the results Amar Singh, Managing Editor of Goal said: "The world's top footballers can no longer be regarded as just athletes - they are major international brands and David Beckham isthe biggest brand of them all. "Our findings show just how much wealth footballers are able to accumulate by leveraging this. Far from the bling-loving, sports car-collecting stereotypes, the vast majority of footballers on the Goal Rich Listare putting their money to positive use by setting up charitable foundations or funding community initiatives.” Alex Miller, editor of the Goal Rich List, added: "The wealth David Beckham has accumulated and continues to earn is testament to his continued appeal, because while Beckham’s retirement from the game edges ever closer, his phenomenal earning power shows no sign of slowing down." |
