Lost soul, try harder, maybe you could get a few souls to join you on your journey to hell.

You have no idea what amount of wealth we control by the name of Jesus. All you can do is rattle ur little tongue while we continue with our business of touching lives for Jesus.

Preach it brother!

Abraham paid tithes not in obedience to the law, for he came before the law came. He paid tithes as a heir of the promises of God and so do we.

Gwaine:
Okay, I hear you. Question: so what happens when someone who does not
cover head goes to church with their mind filled with evil - does that matter?

I'm amused with the view that some things "don't matter" when they are as
clearly stated in God's Word in black and white. If they never mattered, can
someone please explain why the inspired apostle dealt with the issue in his
epistle to the Corinthians? So, he probably must have been joking to ask in
verse 13 of that chapter -

"Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?"

Or, what was he all about when earlier he said -

"For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame
for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered."
[verse 6].

If one doesn't matter (covering or not covering the head), then other should
not matter (a mind filled with evil). If the latter matters, then the former does
as well. QED.
What Paul was dealing with in those verses wasnt as much hair covering as it was Submission to authority.

He said the woman must cover her head because of the angels. Because angels respond to us as we respond to authority. If you are not submitted to authority, you cannot have angels function on your behalf. You cannot command them. You cannot cast out devils cause you do not understand authority yourself. You have broken spirituals laws.

So its about submission in the house of God without which The Spirit cannot freely move among us.

The husband submitted to God and the wife submitted to her husband even as she is submitted to God.

Tell me. what if you were a lady in a vehicle and the car was about to fall off a bridge. Will ou go to you bag and begin to searc for something to put on Your head before you call the name of Jesus of before you prophesy.

What about some of us who wake up from sleep speaking in tongues, what if we had to get up sluggishly from bed to get a cloth to put on our heads before we prophesy blessings into our day? What a weight! The Holy Ghost dwells within us and not on top of our heads.

Bigjoe,

It is in Africa that the catholics insist on hair cpovering and that is not in every parish.

In Europe and America, there are no such laws binding worshipers in the catholic church.

Somebody said the apostle was refering to only cloth and not hair.

If the woman has long hair, it is given to her for a covering. What about long hair? Ask yourself.

I believe it is bc it is long enough to cover her entire head, not just the top of it.

In a way you can understand their plight cos many of them have fallen and are still falling into the hands of theives and greedy men in pastor's clothing.

Some are in churches where their pastors have to beg to have their salaries paid.

I have been in Christ embassy for over 6 yrs and have not had cause to doubt the i am in a ministry endorsed by Jesus Himself. I know Pastor Chris does not recieve a dime from the sale or sponsorship of books and tapes around the world. By choice he had ceased recieving salary from church several years ago. That is why God keeps channeling money to his faithful servant.

The fearful truth is that it will take the grace of God for them to understand their error and repent.

Left to the devil, he will rather have them continue and  later say oh no, had i known at the end.
Christianity Etc › Re: Ladies' Hair In Church by donnie(m): 1:00pm On Jun 09, 2006
Why dont you preach the Word and stop preaching what you think or what tradition thinks.

ldollier:
well just like every other strong pentecoastal, i cover my hair when am in church. not just when am in church but whenever i am about to pray. its also stated in the bible( don't rmbr the passage)

but in the bible "it says that if you can't cover your hair while you pray why not shave it off and be bald and then show it off in the church" in the bible it said something similar to that.

well i grew up with this strong pentecoastal belief that whenever you pray and don't cover your hair that God wont answer the prayer.

i just don't know why people always question things about christianity. what about the muslims that cover their hair 24/7. what do we have to say to that. this goes to prove that christianity is slowly becoming the weak religion.
Strong penticostal? grin because you puta clot on your head?

Anyway i am not a penticaostal so i wouldnt go there yet. But i think we should read those portions of scripture in context.

We should understand what group of people he was addressing at the time.

Apostle Paul said if she dosnt cover her head(not her hair) she dishounours her husband( not the men around her).

He also said, the hair is given to her for a covering for her head. Didnt you see that?

Understand that the Eastern woman who is married covers her entire head in public (and not just the top of it) to show tht she belongs to someone. She is not to expose her head ( her face inclusive). If you have seen those Eastern women with long hair, long and black, enough to cover thier entire heads and faces. This is what Paul was refering to and not some piece of cloth on top of your head.

Now if her hair aint long enough, she should use a veil. And this is not gelle. Have you seen a muslim woman in public before? ahaaa. That is what he was refering to.

So please let that little girl feel free and comfortable in God's presence. Do not put any load on her head.

In todays society, we have rings to show that a woman belongs to someone or is under a man's authority.

As far as I am concerned, he is a thief like every other one of them and using the present situation of the country to play on peoples mentalities.

I wonder whether one of the calls from God was to float these business. In my opinion they should start taxing these churches. And like someone said in an earlier thread, stop paying or contributing money to them and lets see if Miracles will still occur
Mind you, Pastor Chris is presently not resdent in Nigeria so what are you talking about the situation in Nigeria?

Before the good friday miracle night, he hadnt held a major program in this country since 2004.

Why don't you say, "the situation in my pocket" 'because everyone in Nigeria aint broke okay?

In south Africa, the last time he held a major prgram there, the coca-cola dome was filled beyond capacity with the crowds outside the dome almost outweighing the one inside. Many had to be sent back home as the gates of the venue were shut. In another program, he had to cncel the last day's meeting 'because the evidence was that the venue could no longer contain the crowds.

In Europe recently (April 14th 2006), they gathered at the Excel centre in London to watch the good friday program holding in nigeria live via satelite. The same thing happened; the venue was packed out and many had to be sent home. And this was without any publicy whatsoever.

You do not know what you are positioning yourself against. We are like a moving trailer, approaching at full speed. And people like you who choose to stand in our way are simply CRUSHED.

This is not the church in the book of acts; it is by far more powerful and influencial. It the glorious church, the latter house.

So you can take your frustration elsewhere or better still, repent and turn to the Lord.

Hey guys,

There is one thing you must understand when dealing with Roman catholics (cos i come from a staunch Roman catholic family - i'm a catholic but not the Roman kind).

They do not think the church should be subject to the Holy scrptures(bible). They will rather have the scriptures subject to the ancient Roman church tradition which they cherish so much.

They only refer to the scritures where necessary. So trying to knock out their beliefs using the bible wouldnt work.

It could only be by the demonstration of the Spirit and power.
Christianity Etc › Re: Evolution Or Creation: Which Do You Believe? by donnie(m): 7:31pm On Jun 07, 2006
What does God look like?

He looks like Jesus.

what does Jesus look like?

He looks like me.

God looks like man. Man was made in his image(to look like God) and likeness(to function like God).

We were given creative minds, to think like God. To love like him and to give like he him.

The account in genesis was actually a re-creation of the earth.

You see that the waters which once covered the earth brought together so that the earth could be seen. Man came from the dust of the earth; the plants and animals too. The fisah came from the sea.

There was the destruction of the old and there will be a destruction of this present earth by fire.

As for the earth being spherical:

Isaiah 40:22

Simply foolish talk. i remember in 2003, when we had a program in Benin city Nigeria with over 1.5 million people in attendance. Many banks came around with their vans waiting to carry away loads of naira but to their amazement, no offerings were taken.
Christianity Etc › Re: Evolution Or Creation: Which Do You Believe? by donnie(m): 6:20pm On Jun 07, 2006
KAG,

Firstly, i will like you to know that the book of Job is belived among bible scholars to be the oldest book of the bible.

It talks about about the earth being spherical even though there was a time in history when a man was killed by the church for claiming that the earth was spherical whereas it was in the book of Job all the while.

The fact that Job spoke of a dinnasour does not mean it exixted in his time. After all i quoted the book of Isaiah 24. That did not mean that Isaiah witnessed the destruction of the old world.

Talking about Adam and the ape-man. Adam was made in God's image whereas the ape-man was just one of the creatures even though he was called man.

It is this creature(primitive/ape- man) that God later decided to make in his image.

About scientific proof for the destruction of the old world: haven't you heard of what they refer to as the big bang; from where they claim life on earth began?

Well, that was when God kicked satan and his angels who rebelled out of hell and destroyed the earth to which he (lucifer) was assigned as covering cherub.

Oh poor scientists, they seek what they do not know with a microscope to no avail 'cos you cant find God even with that instrument.

Ha ha ha ha!

see how comfused they all are.

Who does christ embassy belong to?

who gets the money? where does he get his money from?

ha ha ha ha and again, ha!

If it were one man's church, it wouldnt influence the world like it is doing today.

It is the church of Jesus Christ. Who else should be in control of the world's riches if not the church of Jesus Christ)?

A time will come and it isnt far away when nothing will happen in Nigeria unless the church allows it.

you guys havent seen anything yet!

you had better invest your life in what counts; giving meaning to the lives of others.

Ha ha ha ha (continues laughing)
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Chris Floats Airline, TV Station & Fast Food Outlet by donnie(m): 9:14am On Jun 06, 2006
On April 14th, Pastor Chris defined wickedness as the twisting of the mind.

The wicked man can only see evil in everything. He cannot be pleased, no matter what.

Why cant you see the airline as God's answer to our failing aviation industry? Why cant you see the food industry being revolutionised?

I haven't confirmed these stories though.

Someone asked to see the charity arm. There is a very very large inner city mission in Christ Embassy if you wanna know. They have housed, clothed and trained thousands. The size of the inner city mission school where children are taken of the streets, fed, clothed and given free education is on the increase.

I was personnaly involved in the innercity mission in Port Harcourt. It was just wonderful to see prostitutes and drug dealers turned into evangelists of the good news, working and leading normal lives. We housed many. I can remember how many of them gave their testimonies on thanksgiving day as they and the whole congregation were moved to tears.

I do not know any church that carries out as much charity work in Nigeria as Christ Embassy.

It is easy to stand from afar and say rubbish. But if you are wise, you will look around and find out where those who have walked that same road are.

They have by their utterances made themselves juniours in life. By positioning themselves against a man who evidently is backed up by supernatural power, they have themselves become broke of power. But because of their arrogance and wickedness they have not yet realised it and repented.

If you are not afraid of the power that divided the red sea and stilled the storms, you can go ahead and talk. You will only remain in your suffering.

One thing we have gotten to know about this great man of God is thet he is selfless. He does nothing for personal gain. That is why whatever the ministry goes about to accomplish becomes an outstanding success.

If TV stations, an airline and fast food industry are making your mouths drop in suprise, then be prepared to stitch your mouths cos you havent seen anything yet. You do not know the God we serve.
Christianity Etc › Re: Evolution Or Creation: Which Do You Believe? by donnie(m): 8:25am On Jun 06, 2006
I first saw those homo-erectus pictures in secondary school.

Like i said, i do not have any problem with the possibility of these creatures to have existed millions of years ago.

But they are not the decendants of Adam. They were not made in the image of God.

They existed in the pre-adamic world along with the other creatures.

But they were all destroyed by God when he destroyed the old world.

God did not create the earth to be without form and void as we see in genesis chapter 1. It later became without form and void.

Isaiah 45
18For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

This is what happened to the earth:

Isaiah 24
1Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

It was turned up side down. This explains the fossils of bones, metals etc. which some scientists/evolutionists use to support the wrong conclusions which they trying to sell.

My bible does not contradict the possible existence of those creatures at some time.

There is the description of a Dinnassour my the bible:

   Job 41

1"Job, can you pull the leviathan out of the sea with a fish hook?
Can you tie down its tongue with a rope?
2Can you put a rope through its nose?
Can you stick a hook through its jaw?
3Will it keep begging you for mercy?
Will it speak gently to you?
4Will it make an agreement with you?
Can you make it your slave for life?
5Can you make a pet out of it like a bird?
Can you put it on a leash for your young women?
6Will traders offer you something for it?
Will they divide it up among the merchants?
7Can you fill its body with harpoons?
Can you throw fishing spears into its head?
8If you touch it, it will fight you.
Then you will remember never to touch it again!
9No one can possibly control the leviathan.
Just looking at it will terrify you.
10No one dares to wake it up.
So who can possibly stand up to me?
11Who has a claim against me that I must pay?
Everything on earth belongs to me.
12"Now I will speak about the leviathan's legs.
I will talk about its strength and its graceful body.
13Who can strip off its outer coat?
Who would try to put a bridle on it?
14Who dares to open its jaws?
Its mouth is filled with terrifying teeth.
15Its back has rows of shields
       that are close together.
16Each one is so close to the next one
that not even air can pass between them.
17They are joined tightly to one another.
They stick together and can't be forced apart.
18The leviathan's snorting throws out flashes of light.
Its eyes shine like the first light of day.
19Fire seems to spray out of its mouth.
       Sparks of fire shoot out.
20Smoke pours out of its nose.
It is like smoke from a boiling pot over burning grass.
21Its breath sets coals on fire.
Flames fly out of its mouth.
    22Its neck is very strong.
People run to get out of its way.
23Its rolls of fat are close together.
They are firm and can't be moved.
24Its chest is as hard as rock.
It is as hard as a lower millstone.
    25When the leviathan rises up,
       even mighty people are terrified.
They run away when it moves around wildly.
26A sword that strikes it has no effect.
Neither does a spear or dart or javelin.
27It treats iron as if it were straw.
It crushes bronze as if it were rotten wood.
28Arrows do not make it run away.
Stones that are thrown from slings are like straw hitting it.
29A club seems like a piece of straw to it.
It laughs when it hears a javelin rattling.
30Its undersides are like broken pieces of pottery.
It leaves a trail in the mud like a threshing sled.
31It makes the ocean churn like a boiling pot.
It stirs up the sea like perfume someone is making.
32It leaves a shiny trail behind it.
You would think the ocean had white hair.
33Nothing on earth is equal to the leviathan.
That creature is not afraid of anything.
34It looks down on proud people.
It rules over all those who are proud."

If baptism has power to cleanse original sin, then it surely should guarantee salvation.

The truth, is remission of sins can only be recieved through faith in the shed blood of Jesus on calvary.

However, baptism is a very important commandment of Jesus. It is a demonstration of our faith.

yes i am. However, i agree with davidylan much more than i do with syrup.

The reason being that when Jesus said ye must be born-again, he actually meant every Word.

It is actually a new birth. It is recieving th divine life of almighty God.

It wasnt possible for anyone to have that life and circumcision of  heart with out the Holy Spirit.

The Holy spirit is the one who baptizes us into the body of Christ.

This is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This is the born- again experience. This is salvation.

When Did The Disciples (Peter, James, John And The Rest) Become Born-again?

Was it when Jesus called them, when he died, when he rose or when the Holy Spirit came on penticost? Or were they ever born again?

It is my desire that this topic will lead to better understanding of who we are as New Creations in Christ
