Okesilas15: Pls don,t think what you are experiencing is side effects of ciprotab. It is actually adverse drug reactions! It can lead to anaphylactic shock and death if not well managed. It is dangerous than you are joking about, stop using the drug and you must never use any quinolones like ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, norfloxacin, sparfloxacin, levofloxacin.Report it to the pharmacist or doctor that prescribe it for you and you will be adequately adviced.I am a pharmacist. I feel so relieved reading your post. There are so many brand with Cipro.... Out there and the medication is by far toxic than curative. When NAFDAC was effective, I clearly remembered no month passes without publications and public campaign awareness regarding fake drugs, their manufactures, their country of origin and what to do once medications becomes toxic with side effects as most people have commented. Ciprofloxacin brand medications should be prohibited for medicinal use until tested proven and confirm safe to use for consumers. |

HaneefahRN: it is very true in Naija where there seem to be no law. Drs train illiterates call them auxiliary nurses and these illiterates are asked to perform nursing duties putting many lives at risk, they make silly errors, do unthinkable things, but the public will shout 'nurses are at it again'. Many of the so-called private hospitals in Naija even big ones make use of quacks. Personally in my area I know abt 10 girls who didn't even complete Sec. School, yet they parade about now claiming to be nurses, one is even suspected to be running a home service for illiterates like her who don't value their lives. So the menace these guilty Drs are creating is something that's killing the health care system as a whole, in a bid to have more profit because they don't want to pay qualified personels rather quacks they'll pay stipend. Quacks who don't know right from wrong, who don't know the rationelles behind each nursing action, some can't even speak a complete sentence in English, they think all that is to nursing is giving inj. After the pt dies from negligence or wrong treatment they claim it's the will of God. They shout 'Quack Drs', but are the quack nurses they train any less dangerous? Nursing is not a vocation like fashion designing, u can go to anyone to learn, it's a profession. This is life we are talking abt, bt alas, everything is upside down. But like I said earlier, it isn't their fault. My goodness!!! I'm following you henceforth. It's about time someone sit down and begin an online campaign against unwholesome practises our dear nation doesn't deserve. Il need folks like you for update from time please. Thanks sis.Nigeria must change for good by fire by force. |

philips70: I will not blame you for this insult. As a Niger Deltan am just really ashamed and angry the way my people think and how they allow these politicians to divert their minds from their itchy and greedy fingers and lay blames on some other regions that are grappling with their own problems. Anyone on this forum that lives in Warri and still blame the Fulanis, Yorubas etc for his or her woes should have the head examined. If you drive around Warri now you will feel the urge to get any government person and just put a hole in his head. For Christ sake the revenues that have accrued to Delta state like any other ND states in the past 16yrs can make the region compete with other developed countries in the world. What we find are leaders like Dickson who loot most of these monies and use surreptitious ways like this to divert the minds of the masses to other issues that will only create imaginary enemies for them. We are talking about a man who was found with a £1000,000.00 of your state money cash in a room in London and you are here telling me some rubbish of how some people outside himself hound him to death. Does he know what it means to see just £10,000 cash with anyone in the UK? If this money and others he carted away belongs to the fg I would understand the sentiments of not only him has stolen so he should be left alone. This is YOUR MONEY which is meant to provide basic infrastructure, good hospitals, ironically the absence of which has led to his death, good roads etc. Alamieyeseigha did not steal monies belonging to Katsina or Gombe, he stole your own money and there's no man who loves his people who will do that. These politicians down south don't love us and so should not use some crafty tools of manipulation to further increase our gullibility. If we are wise we will gather all the likes of Dickson and publicly execute them so others after them will learn never to deceive us after raping us and attempt to divert our minds to some imaginary enemies. Word!!!! ....I'm following you my bro..if I need. Pour out my heart.. 5 pages of Nairaland won't bebe sufficient..Niger Deltans enemies are our own kith and kin. |

HaneefahRN: We need this sanity in nursing too . When will NMCN wake up? Some or many Drs are busy training quacks and using them in their private hospitals putting many lives at risk because of the profit they'll get from paying the illiterates they use stipend instead of employing qualified nurses, yet they go unchecked and this anomaly continues to grow. They fight against quackery in their profession yet they propagate it in another profession in the name of auxiliaries, I'm not saying it's all Drs but many Drs, but it's not their fault though, NMCN allowed it and the crazy way everything is in Nigeria. The health sector really needs thorough sterilization. Btw the 6 months is too small for such criminals. It's faster since there's no traffic to slow them down. This case is particularly annoying because there's a police station very close to the robbery scene. What use is it having a Police department if they wont respond to distress calls? Also the federal government has to draft laws to forbid private hospitals from turning away critical patients during an emergency. This is pure madness, they could've saved this woman's life had they stopped the bleeding, even a simple pressure dressing or tourniquet could've made some difference. You spoke my mind...our tax pays their salaries and allowances.... Besides harrasing and mauling unarmed citizens, saluting and answering yes air to thieving politicians, I make a motion that the Nigerian Police Force and training academy be overhauled asap. |

Boss13: People who have no knowledge about things, wake up, don't brush their teeth and start writing. Children do not really know what they want even Adults. It is a difficult thing. Only matured minds can actually sit down and determine what they truly want. It is important for Parents to guide their children on the path they should choose. Now what I would critique is the approach parents indulge. Some use force, mere folklores or insultive words. On the other hand, Children in their ignorant nature can choose some ridiculous fields probably being influenced by the media or friends.
I read something from Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. She said her dad always gives her economic books to read and made it exciting for her. Thus, her interest in economics grew. I also had a female friend, whose dad, in his effort to encourage his kids to enjoy maths, made it exciting by using word plays and games whilst promising them cash gifts if they could solve puzzles. All her sisters including herself are Engineers.
Parents can guide their children and assist them with making a good decision with career choices. It is not just by telling them, it is important to show and guide them. Draw their attention to role models, important people and I don't mean wizkid et al. You do have a point, however experience have taught me,its much better to let the kids bring forth what they naturally have flair and passion for. Then encourage them to attend career guide counselling sessions. Choosing careers and profession for children does not always turn out to be satisfying nor fulfilling. |

EbukaFran: A lot of these people rejoicing because she has been granted bail do not understand the British judicial system
Before you are arrested in the UK and most organised societies, especially for a crime like Diezani is being accused of, they must have done their homework for months and maybe years. They have the evidence and they are ready to either prosecute her or send her back to Nigeria. I can bet you that she would have almost thrown up with the amount of information they have about her personal life.
The UK is not a zoo or a lawless country. They cannot detain her indefinitely. This is just the beginning. They have confiscated her passport which means she cannot travel out of the UK. Dont be surprised that she might seek political asylum which will be turned down very quickly.
Diezani is in a lot of trouble. This is a multi national investigation and it was well planned. None of us had a clue , not even the over zealous Nigerian media. The best she can do now is to start singing like a parrot and name all her co- thieves. Hope her supporters are reading this. It's the same UK that nabbed James Ibori, ex- delta state to governor and jailed him. They made Nigerian judiciary look so hopeless and irredeemably rotten. UK is fast becoming less attractive to corrupt Nigerian political office holders ( past and present) for their effective crime busting and legal processes. To UK government, thank you for shaming these rogues. |
