So for those who are too lazy to look for info., it is obvious that everything Akunyili did to reduce fake drugs is available online. Surveys carried out by WHO are quite clear on this. From setting up guidelines to enforcing drug specification, regulatory compliance and proper certification of foods, beverages, cosmetics and medications to outright seizure of counterfeit goods, a lot has been written about how she strengthened NAFDAC to become an effective regulator. May the Good Lord continue to keep her in perfect peace. cry

Let us hope the new DG, Prof. Adeyeye can also be more effective than Akunyili was.... undecided She certainly has the right qualifications for the job.

thank you for the posted article. Been searching for it.

The entire operation safe haven team that ordered the victims to a so called " safe unit" where they were massacared must be detained and investigated. Preferably by a South-South indigene as head of investigating team.

That's the only way to get to the bottom of those behind the unprovoked massacre.

Evaberry:
very few men are victims of domestic violence. Women always bear the brunt of a man's anger

No matter what a woman says or does, a man should never hit her, a man is physically stronger than a woman so hitting her will inflict serious physical damage, whereas a woman may not cause any real harm to a man.

Op the husband in your write Up should have quietly left the compound and go relax somewhere until he was sure his wife had calmed down. when a woman is angry she throws all reason and caution to the wind, it therefore falls on the man to be understanding and reasonable

Engaging in a fisticuffs with a woman is wrong and should be condemned.

Bullshit!!!

Right now your madam expect you to be cook, cleaner, houseboy, yes-maam-husband, the type when ask a simple question that would respond " wait let me consult with my wife first"....but guess what? so long you are not lazy,be ready to pay some prices..e.g take up offers that could take you away from your comfort zone, you will bounce back...believe me!.

Then your marriage arrangement will have a more adjusted pattern.Cos without money flowing from you, to her, you are worthless.

chuksanambra:
The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Navi Mumbai police arrested a Nigerian national in Kharghar on Tuesday for being in possession of 178.6 gram of methaqualone worth ₹8.15 lakh.

The accused, identified as Garry Okafor (36), was arrested from Sector 34 in Kharghar after Sub Inspector Rani Kale from the Anti-Narcotics Cell received a tip-off.

According to the police, Okafor arrived in India a one year ago on business visa and trading in garments. The police said methaqualone, the drug seized from the accused, was a party drug that cost between ₹4,000 and ₹5,000 per gram.

An official from the Anti-Narcotics cell said, “This drug is mostly used by youngsters at parties. We are trying our best to curb the supply of such drugs in the city. We are trying to find where the accused acquired the drugs from. Usually in such cases, after a case is filed, the source of the drugs is alerted and he goes underground. We fail to trace his name and hideout and he does not get nabbed.” The police said they are also trying to find out the person who was to receive the drugs from the accused at Kharghar.

Travel / Re: 5 Ways To Overcome Flight Turbulence Anxiety by donodion(m): 5:33pm On Jun 02, 2017
Opinionated:

The frustrating thing about flight turbulence is how suddenly they occur, completely without warning. Thankfully, there are ways to overcome the anxiety that comes when these sudden flight turbulence hits. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 5 ways to overcome the anxiety that comes with flight turbulence.

Increase Your Pool of Knowledge

Fear is intensified when the object of your fear remains a mystery. Therefore, it’s important you avoid ‘what if?’ thoughts by reading up on flight turbulence, its causes, potential dangers and the likely risks associated with it. Know all you can about planes and how they are designed to handle turbulence. When you understand the phenomenon, it’ll be much easier to manage and overcome.

Remind Yourself That Fear is Separate From Danger

The fact that you’re afraid doesn’t actually mean you’re in danger, you need to be able to separate the two to successfully overcome anxiety. Remind yourself that feeling anxious doesn’t mean you’re in danger, it just means you’re feeling anxious. You’re safe even if you’re feeling intense anxiety. Besides, why remain negative when you can be positive. Stop fueling your fears and anxieties.

Try To Outsmart Anxiety

Anxiety tricks your mind into thinking you’re in danger when you’re perfectly safe. Following your emotions at that point will only reinforce your anxiety and very likely make you hysterical. As a rule, you should learn to do the opposite of what those anxious feelings are telling you to do (even when you’re still feeling anxious). You’ll be surprised at how effective this will be in helping to overcoming anxiety.

Figure Out What Soothes You When Anxious

Is it talking to someone? Is it reading a book? Is it listening to music? Is it praying? Is it meditating? Figure it out. Once you know what soothes you when you’re anxious, you can do that thing to help calm you in those times.

Be Patient

Over time, you’ll actually get used to flight turbulence and remain unfazed when they occur. Besides, after a while you’ll eventually get tired of jumping in fear at every flight turbulence; you’ll get tired of being fearful. Be patient with yourself because every flight provides you with an opportunity to make the next one easier (if it helps and you’re the religious type, you can pray as often as you can for a safe flight and commit it to the hands of the One you trust). Your brain will eventually become less sensitized to the triggers that set you off and flight turbulence will cease to become an anxiety trigger for you.

What have always worked for me during turbulence and sudden height drop in air 33,000 feet above sea level is....I simply lean forward towards the seat in front. It ease the sense of despair during such episodes. Try it.

Politics / Re: 'I Think Nigeria Is Getting Out Of Recession' - Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun by donodion(m): 5:25pm On Jun 02, 2017
Nnamddi:
Mrs Kemi Adeosun, Minister of finance, has said, she 'thinks' Nigeria is getting of recession.

Nigeria's economy officially entered recession last year and with Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari's ill health, there is no sign of Africa's most populous country getting out of it.

Nigerians are suffering the effects of the economic crisis with prices of goods and services almost increasing by more than 300% in the markets.

Speaking with ChannelsTV on Friday, June 2nd, Kemi Adeosun said, statistics showed Nigeria is getting out of recession.

In her words; "I think we are getting out of recession. All the statistics seems to suggest that but more importantly, we are getting on the path of growth that will be sustainable so we can see a future for Nigeria. So I think it is getting better. We inherited a lot of problems. The Nigerian economy didn’t just need a little bit of fix here and there but needed radical surgery and to heal it will take a little bit longer” she said

This is what will become our lot so long we keep allowing " illetrates, thugs and political god fathers" dictate our wellbeing as a nation.

Such have no regard nor respect for rule of law, hence to make extra cash by the side, law enforcement agents equally engage in " illegal" assignment at the backing of "Supro", who's equally benefitting from the largesse of the thugs in power.

Theirs are worse o. They're creatively crafty too. I was once travelling to Lagos from Anambra. When I got to the park, there were many buses, their 'agberos' were all seen trying to lobby passengers thus the competition was high. We saw many comfortable buses loaded almost half full, but seeing a 'not so comfortable' bus with only two seats remaining, I hurriedly got on the bus with excitement that we would leave soon. After buying bus ticket, I realized they were all fake passengers. Everyone got down one by one, remaining me and just one passenger. The stone face on the agbero self will not let you gather confidence to ask for refund.

I doff my hat to these guys.

This is likely to be Steven Johnson's Syndrome.
A rare adverse reaction to some medications.

Doesn't mean the drug was expired or the nurse was wrong.
Could just happen.

God help her though.

From the photos and symptoms described by the OP it is SJS.

Allow me to use this opportunity to remind healthcare workers on this forum. Before you admit and administer any medication on your patient, always ask about medical and medication history, which includes allergies. Some people in time past have shown allergic reaction to paracetamol and other NSAIDs but because the caregiver was either in a hurry to apply medications, forgot to note this nd notify the doctor to authorise a different medication.

Doctor's/Nurses/ Pharmacist/Lab scientist must always remember we work as a team for successful patients health management.

To reverse this condition will take time and cost more,if the child survives it.

Crime / Re: Why I Don’t Like Nigerians By Robert Lindsay, A US Citizen by donodion(m): 10:52am On May 17, 2017
It is so baaad ehn...but Naijas should first carry out an introspection. It started with the "selectrd rulers". They practically rob the citizens blind. How does one explain how civil servant working in pension board could make away with BILLIONS and it caught, get only 6-9 months in prison..dazzal....look at Saraki, Dino, Dasuki, Igbinedion, Ibori, even Tinubu, past and present governors, senators, local government chairmen,....look at all the political leaders who are now political god father's... Rogues, murderers, Looters and criminals. They breed Nigerian youths to become Political thugs who does their bidding. And those that could not stand murder, become internet fraudsters, claiming alliance to one politician or the other.

And the Religious bodies are equally in cahoots with them. These fuckers rob the nation, pay huge tithes and consultation fees to their prophets, pastors, sheiks, Alfas, native doctor's. And these are same people who would demand their congragrats FAST and PRAY for the success of their corrupt clients, politicians.

Check the spate of looting and gross anomalies in the education sector. Read how Vce chancellor's run universities and approve arbitrary levies and fees.

Same applies to Judiciary, Health, Defense and Security (Police),etc. Corruption have become a reality and culture in the country.

The rate and degree we have soiled our images home and abroad is terrible. I know many of my countrymen and women who gladly brandish foreign passports and identity now, not wanting to be associated with Nigeria, as the name irks suspicion.

Nigerians destroyed Nigeria and now the world is tired of Nigerians. Nobody wants them around for too long. The good ones are encouraged to swap allegiance and identity.its that bad.

The fish rots from the head.!!!.
So long we continue granting support to criminals and thugs as leaders.Cowing before them and their equally corrupt inhuman police system, DSS, SSS, NPF, the corruption disease will keep spreading and breeding youths who in turn become militants, kidnappers, ritualists, Internet fraudsters, human traffickers, Drug barons and dealers, name the vice.
