Engineering Maths is easy. The real maths are in Maths courses in Mathematics and Physics departments. I have 2 degrees (Physics and Electrical Engineering) and a masters (Engineering) and the difference in difficulty of maths between science faculty and engineering faculty is clear like 7up.

I had class mates in my electrical engineering degree program that graduated, but won't survive 3rd year in my physics degree program.

Let me tell you guys a brief story.
When i was in secondary school, i was the best student in my class. I was so good that I represented my school in any competition held.

Going to university, i still had that flare. I was still very serious. I read like a mad person , but due to some factors , my gp was really bad in yr 2 and 3. Regardless of the fact that I studied hard. Other years were good but it was unfortunate i came out with a 2.2 degree. If a degrees were to be given according to your level of seriousness, I would have made a first class.

However, i came out of school thinking that atleast its not like 2.2 is a bad result, It’s average. I tried looking for a job, but everywhere says minimum 2.1. I had to settle for a teaching job which i still do now. I have given up on looking for job because everyone says the same thing. 2.2 has made me believe i am no longer intelligent. People in my family, my friends , my colleagues at work all believe that i am intelligent. But my degree tells me otherwise.

Now here is what saddens me. A friend of mine whom i knew i was better than academically back in school posted a picture of a car given to him by his employer. He came out with a 2.1 (p:s he got that job without knowing anyone in the company,he saw it online and applied).Everyone in the department knew how he always passed his exams. Although i am genuinely happy for him, but I am sad for myself. Do employers think that we 2.2 graduates are totally worthless? Coming out with 2.1 is a nice achievement and many people who got it worked really hard for it but many factors can make a bright student come out with 2.2. I have been teaching for three years now and I sometimes ask myself, would I continue like this? I don’t want to be like some of my colleagues who are way older than i am and still teaching. I am 25.

An advice to people in universities. Do any thing you can to come out with a 2.1. Don’t let that no job thing fool you. Read , cheat or buy 2.1, but do whatever it takes to come out with it. Get it first then listen to the no job story because your story can actually change with it. As for 2.2, there is actually no job unless you have somebody somewhere.

Go for your masters and spice it with professional qualifications ..... You are more than 2'1 already !!

There was this babe that just moved into my neighborhood. She was the complete package then or so I thought. She was visiting her aunt who lived just behind our house. I was this very shy and timid guy, so there was no way I could approach her directly to let her know I was heavily interested in her.

To gain her attention, I turned to a stalker. I’d wait for this girl to come out in the morning, that’s when I will remember I was suppposed to sweep the front of the house. I’d do it with so much energy with my earpiece plugged to my ears, humming and singing along to the music playing. While doing this, I make sure to sneak a peek at her once in a while but this girl does not ever seem to even notice someone is there.

I did other odd things like going to ask her aunt if she needed any help. Someone I was never acquainted with. I got to know of this Girl’s itineraries. I knew she always go out late in the evening to get bread from a bakery close to our house. So every evening I will freshen up, bath myself with perfume, and tag along like I am also going out, but what I actually doing was trying to even get her to notice me. All na lie.

Then one day, I got an opportunity to speak with her. I was walking home that day when I saw her coming in the opppsite direction. With palpitating heart, I contemplated greeting and striking a conversation with her or not. The closer I got to her, the more my heartbeat per second increased. I got close enough to her to catch a glimpse of smile on her face or so I thought. I in turn started.

Me: Good evening
Her: Yeah, evening
Me: You are Chinenye right?
She replied in the coldest voice ever with a cold face to go along with that. “Yes I am”. Then she continued walking away. Damn! I felt so stupid. I didn’t know what made her treat me that way. I mean we’ve been seeing each other before then. It’s just that we never said a word to each other.

After that incident , I started locking myself inside. I dodge her anytime I see her. The things I was doing to impress her reduced drastically. Heck even my mood was affected. At last she left for wherever she came from.

Lo and behold, I saw this lady sometimes early this year and I knocked myself repeatedly. I couldn’t believe this was the same person I wanted killing myself for just her attention. Damn! Relieving this incident now just makes me chuckle. She wasn’t worth it at all.

Na so e be Na ... Kid's era !

(Some course go use tchotchothco kill person), then proceed to ask you whether you be the scholar (Overall best) in your dept/faculty ....
If you are working, name of your organisation and your role ....... You are free to also ask me mine .....
All these things are to ascertain whether both of una are fit for one another .....

The most important thing is the presentation !!!

These questions are. means of igniting a conversation or just for the purpose of conversation. Asking if a lady has eaten doesn't really mean he wants to do abracadabra and food will appear, if she hadn't eaten.

In common civilized parlance, women are very comfortable with such questions because they see it as a norm and men can't help it. Only in this part of the world that women feel one must be an expert in conversation without asking these questions and when the man is seeming boring or adamant just in a bid to avoid being tagged a pest or stupid for asking such questions, this same women will come crying "Negligence!" on the man's part.
Although some men ask these questions haphazardly, it is still permissibly commendable to ask as a means of imitating a conversation.

But as for me, can't remember the last time I gave a lady an attention in the name of chatting her up. I simply mind my business. Highest is "good morning and good afternoon" unless there is an important information I need from you, apart from that, you can remain in my handle for years without even a "Hi" from me let alone a phone call.

Most Girls on Nairaland are joyless, and don't mind them Na shakara dem dey do ..... If a tushed up guy ask you , what are you wearing , have you eaten, where are you working ... they will answer like two pages but let a broke ass nigger ask them same , Na ihm dey will feel irritated !!
