contigiency:I don't know why you have so much sense like this. That is exactly what I've been trying to type since but for want of time. He can only get few NASS members' support because the NASS members also have ogas who dictate to them, especially in this primaries era when they need their parties' ticket. |
Is it because buhari was pity-voted and won by just 2.5m votes (which can be easily wiped by a state or two) that they are taking things easy? Jokers. what a flawed analysis of PMB's 2015 victory! Granted some of the sentiments that worked in his favour may no longer be there, but also some of them that worked against will definitely not be there anymore. So it's like a balance, if it is not even tilting in his favour. |
APC has zero presence in Rivers State.
. Do you really mean it or you just want to talk? As a reminder, APC has 3 senators in Rivers state. |
Baba has correctly predicted that he would be insulted for saying what he said. And this is just one of such attacks that would come at him. As much as i want to agree with the writer that Baba was well known for his shady deals with the NASS, i also want to say that recanting that story over and over any time Baba raises valid points against the NASS has become boring. I want the writer to tell me whether it is reasonable that a Nigerian legislator in a country with a poverty rate of about 75% earns more than his counterparts in more developed western countries with far far less poverty rate. Moreover, it is important to know that the NASS is made up of humans. So it was humans that made the decision to reject his third term bid most of whom are no longer in the NASS. So if Baba`s utterances are those of vendetta, they should be directed at the key players in the rejection most of whom are no longer NASS members, yet alive. |
Edu3Again:You mean Abia is better run than Imo? That`s very untrue. For your info Edo is not in that category. Oshiomhole did well and Obaseki has continued in that light. |
malton:. GEJ is definitely a great person but a terrible leader. This has always been my opinion about him. I`d like to have his kind of person as friend anyday but i wouldn`t want him to lead even the smallest group i belong to |
VanBommel:Maybe you are too young to know that all the states fund all the federal security agencies in the state to complement the FG`s effort and enhance their performance |
What kind of people do we even have on nairaland! So you people argue so much about Nigeria yet do not know how Nigeria works? People have been busy arguing about the religion and tribe of the appointed judges and none of you was able to point out that the president doesn't have a hand in the appointment of a judje. The president only acts as a channel/ medium between the judiciary and the legislature. He has no hand(constitutionally) in the appointment. The NJC appoints while the legislature confirms. At least reading OBJ's recent public lecture note should have made you know that if you didn't know before then |
Things like this are the reason I've always prayed for another party to be in power. Our institutions will be better of for it. Institutions will be strengthened and professionals ( such as the military) will behave as such. Imagine what was going on in INEC and the Nigerian military under PDP! How would we have known if PDP was still in power. You can't really blame PDP because that's what a one-party state begets. They were running Nigeria however they liked, knowing that no party was strong enough to challenge them and defeat them and bring them to book. That's why People like Tinubu will always have my respect for paying the necessary sacrifices to bring about another strong party. Institutions will now know that whatever they do will be accounted for especially if an opposition party comes in. |
bejeiodus:I've heard so much about restructuring from your likes in recent times. Pls I want to understand what it really means. I hope it doesn't mean taking the cash cow of the country (crude oil) away from the control of the FG and placing it in the hands of few greedy and thieving fellows in the SS called governors? How do you expect other states to survive when their resources have been abandoned and undeveloped to fetch them money. The truth is that I must agree with you that restructuring will set a healthy competition among states and enhance development, but we are not ripe for it because the mechanisms for it's success have not been put in place. Until the mineral resources and agriculture are developed in other states and regions, then the talk about restructuring is far immature. And desist from calling people names because they disagree with your point of view, rather counter them with superior argument. |
APCHaram:Hypocrisy is when you question 36 state governors and 774 local govts on how they spent just 48 percent of the ECA and not question how FG that got a whooping 52percent spent its own. The governors were willing to save until they found out that 'hero' and NOI were going behind their back to spend their commonwealth. That's criminal! In any case, what stopped 'hero' and NOI from saving their lion's share of 52% if they really had the will to save? The truth is that 'hero had no willingness to save. |
Mynd44:Hope you can hear how horrible you sound. GEJ awarded contracts in 2012 and failed to pay contractors from then up to 2014 even in the midst of oil boom and you still have the guts to mention 'GEJ project'. You and GEJ should be ashamed. The question you should be asking him is to tell us what he did with all the money he got from oil boom if he couldn't pay for projects awarded. Oh, I forgot! He and his cronies stole it and used the rest to compromise everyone and everything, including INEC, to win reelection |
myshoe:This is what happens when you don't read before commenting. As much as he doesn't like the way GEJ ran his govt., he still owes a lot of respect to him as a former president |
Achuwa1:You know I really like it when wailers and their PDP party have a taste of the bitter pill they dished out to Nigerians and the opposition parties for 16yrs and they start wailing. Where were you when the likes of Akpabio, Liyel Imoke, T.A Orji, Chime, and even mama piss were compromising INEC and using security forces to impose their candidates on everyone? Now you have a governor campaigning vigorously for his party, not waiting for federal might and security forces, and you are wailing. |
I read in saharareporters today that there is security report of impending religious crisis in parts of NC and NW. Maybe that's why the president called him to use his influence to calm things down being a high ranking political figure and Christian |
I think the question isn't too hard if you look at it carefully. What I think prof meant is for you to state reasons to support and oppose the following statement: 'examination is a true test of knowledge' or 'examination is not a true test of knowledge' |
It amazes me how nairalanders make comments on topics based on the titles given them by th authors and not based on the overall content in general, and the core issues addressed in the topic in particular. These sensational headlines are made usually for mischievous reasons and people easily fall for them. Amaechi said so many things in the discussion and only one almost insignificant comment became the core of our discussion. That's not good enough of us as young and educated people |
wilsondave:It's like you didn't read the news before commenting. Deziani's name and that of Aluko were struck out at the request of the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, because they are not in Nigeria at the moment. This is to avoid delaying the trial of the available suspects. |
sunnydayasaba:This shows that you do not understand Delta state politics. If politics is about structure, the most powerful person in delta politics now is Dr Okowa. That person mentioning sen Nwaoboshi doesn't know that he's the weakest among all the people he mentioned. Even the election that brought him in as a senator was won by engr victor ochei. Okowa helped him to rig that election while still pursuing his own victory. Okowa fought against uduaghan and defeated his candidate in the primaries. He fought against Ibori in 2007 primaries and defeated his candidate (uduaghan) only for the election to be declared inconclusive and was manipulated at a later date. He's a proven winner when it comes to politics |
AtlanticBreeze:That's not what he said. You are quoting him wrongly. Read it again and understand what he said. Well, it's not in our position to decide. It's a legal matter, so let's watch on as things unfold |
AtlanticBreeze:Did you just write blame? Are you now an APC zombie? |
AtlanticBreeze:Did I hear you say blame? Are you now an APC zombie? |
AtlanticBreeze:That's where you are getting it wrong. A notice of appeal does not amount to stay of execution. And INEC did say that they were only served with a notice of appeal and not stay of execution. Also, whatever injunction Ikpeazu got from the state high court is not binding on the judgement of the federal high court because they are correspondent. So what you can do is to urge Ikpeazu to prove INEC wrong and display a copy of the stay of execution from an appeal court (not a high court) that he served INEC, otherwise he's an arsenal fan, I mean a goner. |
What kind of sex position did the woman promise him? |
Geniro:Exactly the same question on my mind. But you are not asking that question to the right person. The right people to answer that question are GEJ and NOI and to a lesser extent, OBJ and Yaradua (because the last 2 had less money than GEJ who was in power during oil boom). There was no social welfare yet there were no savings and no significant infrastructure development. In short, we had nothing to show for oil boom. GEJ should count himself lucky to have lost the election because Nigerians would not have taken any excuse from him. |
Hmmm. GEJ has been sent back to Otuoke, no more free government money for Kanayo. He's gone back to business |
onepluone:where was your separation of power when deziani declined all the invitations by the 7th assembly |
at least this is better than what sergious ogun (esan fed constituency, edo, pdp) did recently when he distributed food items including garri that is produced abundantly in that region. people should be thought how to fish and not just given fish. as for those who are always on standby to discredit whatever good news is coming from osun, keep trying. |
Kogi state is like my beloved Delta state. They are both very unfortunate with bad and corrupt leaders. |
TippyTop:So did Fayose not know that she travels with diplomatic passport as first lady when he dared her to travel to the U.S? Did he equally not know that the minister of foreign affairs who's her husband's appointee could work with the US to allow her visit and return. That's my problem with wailers, inconsistencies and hypocrisy. They don't mind sounding silly to defend their dumbness and those of their 'heroes' |
OjukwuWarBird:keep dreaming. Is it by force to be part of Biafra? we won't join you people |
The part is an obvious, bare faced lie. How come only PDP members and those APC members who are in the prrsidency's black book(Saraki et al) are being prosecuted. Can the Efcc chairman honestly say that Amaechi did not embezzle any money while he was governor of Rivers state? What baffles me is how IPOBs are quick to mention Amaechi in every corruption topic but failed to mention people like T.A Orji that have nothing to show for being governor for 8yrs. The hatred for Amaechi is becoming annoying and that's the more reason why PMB may want to shield him because whatever vilification he attracts now I s because he threw his weight behind PMB and against the 'hero'. This shows that if you people had the chance, Amaechi would've long been thrown into the prison whether he's guilty or not. But the ways of God are not the ways of man. I'm not saying Amaechi shouldn't be prosecuted (because I know he isn't clean) but I'm saying it is wrong to make him the face of corruption. The former governor of my state (delta) left a debt of over #600b (according to the incumbent governor who's in the same party with him) and without projects on ground to justify it, not to mention that workers were still being owed when he left, and yet people like you don't mention him. |

that they are taking things easy? Jokers.
