But seriously, level of moral decay is astounding.

Of all times you chose Christmas day and of all places you had to do it near the church, while service was going on!!! shocked

Our God is truly a merciful God. We thank God for going you another chance and sincerely hope you continue in Him.

With ur initial comment I actually thought you're an atheist which why I didn't quote u b4

However going ur profile, I take it your a Christian, and that makes your comment all the more unfortunate.

Calling him confused and in the same breath claiming you r not judgemental is rather hypocritical.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the title of the program. It's simply a metaphor to drive home a point : no premature death this year. Simple. So why d mockery?

Just for the records I don't attend his church but I think as children of God we should exercise better discretion when it involves spiritual matters.

I've used both heremaps and Google maps, and while I agree both are excellent - and free! - apps, Nokia's version is certainly the best.

I really been misled by Google maps on a number of occasions. Heremaps, on the other hand, is yet to fail me. It's precision is simply outstanding, almost magical. Even in rural areas heremap was able to give exact location of my vehicle and real time direction to my destination.

The only slight advantage I can see with Googlemaps is its ability to locate joints, hotel, complete with the name and even phone number.

If one has two phones and going to unfamiliar territory, it's a good idea to have both maps as a guide

What is wrong with the poster?

We all know the fate of the literal 'Christmas goat', yes! It dies before Christmas!

So why is it so difficult to appreciate the allegorical meaning behind the banner?

Religion / Re: 10 Things The Holy Book Teaches About Fornication by doofanc: 5:00pm On Dec 13, 2015
Sexist:
This is another opportunity for us to educate
ourselves on what our religion teaches about
various social situations.

It is important, as a Christian, to get a clear idea on what the bible teaches about certain social issues. Today, we will look at 10 Bible verses that talks
about fornication.

1. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a
person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. ( 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 )

2. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let
the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. (Hebrews 13:4)

3. Nevertheless, [to avoid] fornication, let every
man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. ( 1 Corinthians 7:2 )

4. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual
immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery,
enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries,
dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you
before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

5. No temptation has overtaken you that is not
common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let
you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the
temptation he will also provide the way of escape,
that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians
10:13)

6. Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not
inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived:
neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God (1
Corinthians 6:9-11).

7. If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed and lies with her, he shall give the bride-price for her and make her his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money equal to the
bride-price for virgins. (Exodus 22:16-17)

8. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you:
sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. ( Colossians 3:5)

9. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they
should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. (1 Corinthians 7:9)

10. If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry
—it is no sin. (1 Corinthians 7:36)

Thanks very much for this. God bless

thanks fir reply. it has thankfully been rectified. as its turns out it was a hardware issue after all. but surprisingly it wasn't it Ethernet card because we changed it and stil didn't work. the guy actually said he doubted d since d device manager would have flagged it. it was actually the HARD DRIVE dat has been giving me sleepless nights. immediately he connected a new hard drive, presto! the network started working.

1) When did you start experiencing the problem.

2) If you have a restore point restore your system back to when it works.

3) How many network adapters do you have at device manager under networks?

4) You can manually input you network information at the network properties in advanced settings.(if you can provide your ip, dns information I'll show you where to input then)

5) It could be your ethernet card is faulty.

thanks very much for this.

1) started about 3weeks after I returned from a jounry

2) tried restoring, didn't work

3) two: realtek PCI controller and ratlink b/g/n wireless

4) tried it, but didn't work. funny thing is one IT guy ran ipconfig and compared d settings with aother computer with working internet but there was basically no difference. device manager says everything is fine.

5) final option we are yet to explore. I hope to do that 2mro.

thanks for d help once again.

it sounds like a simple problem...but u forgot to mention the router or modem u are using.....
if the dhcp is not distributing ips dynamically(static)..then ur system would refuse to get a valid ip..
the problem is not coming from your laptop but from router/modem..
or are you on a private or dedicated server
also,are u using a vpn or concealer?eg hotspot shield,anonymizer,hide myass...etc?

thanks very much for d reply.

I use a variety of means: Airtel and glo using my phone as hotspot and I also have etisalat as usb, and then at office I use broadband. however I don't use any IP concealer, VPN or d like.

the funny thing is all d above means were working perfectly before I embarked on rather bumpy journey from abj to Benue. I don't know if that could cause it.

d problem has seriously destabilize me as it virtually useless without internet. it just refuses to pick a valid IP. d it guy in our office tried manually inputting d IP, but still didn't work. what could be d issue?

gurus in d house. pls I have an issue DAT desperately needs rectification.

I have a window 7, but have not been able to connect to internet. troubleshooting gives "invalid IP." I've done all d DNS flushing/resetting/renewing to no avail. I tried using an external adaptor (dlink) still not working. I've deleted and reinstalled d drivers, still nothing

I'm extremely hesitant to format it because I'm not sure it will help. someone also suggested d network card because it fell at a time.

Last I checked, the NA is made of up members from all parties, and none, to the best of my knowledge has rejected the obscene allowance. Pls and pls we need to collective rise and condemn this brazen daylight robbery. It may be constitutional; but nonetheless immoral, wicked and callous.

ProphetUdeme:
go and check your scripture dear. Jesus warned of hell and used it to preach the gospel. You need to warn the sinner about the impending doom and wrath of God against all Christ rejecters. The whole preaching of the gospel of Jesus centers on God's love for humanity in saving us from Hell thru Jesus. Period. Apostle paul says knowing the terror of God (damnation of hell) we now persuade men to be reconciled to God. God's love for humanity is about warning us from hell. And our love for God is to escape that cursed place and spend eternity in heaven with him. So the center point of my gospel is populating Heaven and depopulating Hell. If Anyone preaches anything asides from this then such a person is accursed

hmmm, Oga Pastor easy o. grin

There will be always be consequences for sin, the Bible is clear on that. WE should all avoid all form of sin. I however have problems with those punishments you listed. What exactly is i supposed to achieve?

Yes, Jesus did indeed use some pretty strong words occasionally, but you'll notice it was mostly to the hardened Pharisees.

I usually ask those who spend so much energy on the 'fire and brimstone' messages a simple question: If there was no punishment for sin, would you still go on serving God and keeping his commandants? There you have it.

A true Christian does not need the threat of hell or punishment to compel him/her to serve God. It [should] come[s] from an overwhelming desire to please God in all things.

Focus more on the eternal love of God and the and incomparable Grace given us through Christ Jesus and you'll see better results.

MAy God continue to grant us grace to bring more and more souls to His Kingdom. Amen. Stay blessed

Religion / Re: Is The NIV Version Of The Holy Bible Anti-Christ? by doofanc: 9:35am On Jul 12, 2015
GrammarNazi:
Most Christians ignorantly & erroneously believe that the bible is a perfect book. I hate to tell you this, but it's not true. The Bible, as we have it today, was compiled by MEN (not necessarily for the altruistic reasons you think, but that's another story altogether) from books and letters written by MEN (maybe or maybe not under divine inspiration). wink

The bible as we have it today, is host to many errors and inconsistencies. That doesn't mean it is not a holy book, inspired by God. We just need to know when to draw the line, when interpreting verses and stories from the bible. wink

There are translational errors in virtually all versions of the bible we have today, ESPECIALLY The King James Version, which most people erroneously believe to be Sacrosanct. Later versions of the bible have attempted to correct some of these errors. The New International Version (NIV) is not the only version that attempts this. Lemme use the example of 1 John 5:7-9 that someone quoted earlier. See how the KJV and other versions quoted the same verses.

Moral Lesson: God is NOT the author of confusion, but anything that passes through human hands, cannot be perfect!!!

Many Christians have a very, very hard time accepting this. I think it has to do with wrongly applying Biblical references that point to its inerrancy (2tim3:16). I do believe the original divinely inspired manuscripts were without error to the last dotted 'i' or crossed 't'. Those manuscripts are unfortunately no longer available. Like you rightly observed, what we have are translations made by fallible humans. They may contain errors.

I think the danger of hanging fastidiously to every single word in our translated Bibles as inerrant is that once the atheists are able to point out apparent irreconcilable inconsistencies (most likely brought about by translational errors), the faith is seriously shaken, sometimes irredeemably. Many previously great scholars (e.g. Bart Erhman) fall into this group.

On this board you see numerous "gotcha" threads by atheists (MizJanet etal) or even muslims claiming to have come across such inconsistencies. And yes, in some cases Christians do have a hard time explaining some of them. As William Craig put it, yeah there are some minor errors, so what?? Do any the undermine the central message of the scriptures, which is Christ? Definitely not. The Bible still remains and will be God's gift to man.

Lastly those claiming KJV as the only 'authentic' translation obviously haven't taken time to research its history. I personally use many translations for my study, which I can always compare, and of course asking the Holy Spirit for guidance.

BTW what the name of that app you're using?
