Before the last VC, an Igbo man (Prof.Nwanze).There was no meaningful development. can an Edo man be the VC in IMSU?

totally NOT true. much of improvements, at least structure-wise began during the tenure of Anao. I vividly recall how beautiful uniben used to be then.

Nwanze's major achievement was the introduction of ICT and its use in admission, accommodation, result checking etc. uniben was one of the very first uni to use it.

the outgoing vc was Bini if I'm not mistaken, and this one is Bni as well. Doesn't seem too fair in my opinion. what abt the other ethnic groups? Esan , akoko Edo etc

Now this is becoming irritating.

What's this obsession some Christians have with things related to Islam? They have asked to given their exclusive section, which was granted. Why can't we mind our business and face our faith?

Are there not far more compelling issues in Christendom to be considered?

Imagine the impact on your life if the amount of time some of you Christians spend trolling in their section was spent reading your Bible.

Please enough of this nonsense. Concern yourself with those things profitable.

Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Remain Rapturable.

Jesus Christ is coming soon. Shallom.

bukatyne:
Practical examples of submission

Remember that submission is in all things (as far as they are not sinful) so we really do not have any 'private' business once we are married. For example, I think it is wrong to do the following:

1. Send money/stuffs to your family/friends/relatives without the consent of your husband note I said consent and not permission irrespective of the financial model run in your home (joint or separate accounts)

2. Do something hubby has said he doesn't like without trying him to win over (If it is important) E.g. if he has said he doesn't like fixing of nails and you want to, you must win him over. There might be a way to fix it without him knowing but even if he does not see or notice, God does

3. Buy things without informing him/ hiding what you bought/ investing without him been in the know etc. amongst others

Nice idea behind the thread, but let us take head to state the scrpitures exactly as it is.

Craukhuas already highlighted some inconsistencies, so no point discussing them again.

However, consider this:

Eph 5:21 and submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Eph 5:22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord,
Eph 5:23 because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church – he himself being the savior of the body.
Eph 5:24 But as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Does the Church merely seek "consent and not permission" from Christ, or does the former do exactly as they are told. Something tells me Paul knew what he was talking about when he decided to use such a powerful comparison, The Church and Christ, to describe the union between man and wife.

That of course does not make the wife slave or robot, just as the Church is not a slave. But the message there is crystal clear. Any attempt at embellishment or watering down to soothe "gender correctness" of any form is ungodly.

The bottom line is the scriptures does not always go down well with the flesh; it takes the Holy Spirit to understand and heed, meekly, the treasures therein. May The HOLY GHOST grant us better understanding of His Word. Amen.

Stay blessed!

koyyes:
I won't argue with you..you've spoken like a responsible man. But what will you say about women who work and close late,do you expect them to cook all the time like housewives? haba!

Fine. I actually close earlier than my wife, but that doesn't stop her from preparing my food, either cooking in bulk during weekend and refrigerating, so all I have to do is defrost and warm, or coming during break

The point you ladies should get is husbands are not heartless. I'm very good cook myself and I do the role countless times, even when she's perfectly okay. then of course when she's sick or pregnant, I do most of the cooking.

I'm sure a lot of men, just like me, would have no problem cooking for their spouses. what, however, we will not tolerate is for ladies to start claiming its not their responsibility.

Yes, if you have, raise ya hand! I give you 10k grin grin

wosai!!!! its all noise I tell your empty, clanging cymbals. As I said previously, its more of a show off thing. Many of them actually finished cooking for hubby before coming online to type trash.

Danhumprey: Yes! Even me!undecided

What's 'archaic' in that? What make it an 'archaic advice'?undecided

Mark my word! I will drill it into my daughter(s) head either directly(during father-daughter conversation) or indirectly through their mother(my wife) that it is her(their) responsibility to cook for her man/family! And when I say 'man',I don't mean any random man/guy! I mean, her legally married husband! Not even her boyfriend or fiance! She ain't even supposed to be living together with any man except her legally married husband and whom it's her RESPONSIBILITY to cook for him!

Accept it or not,it is a woman's responsibility to cook for her man(her legally married husband) and her family!

Unless, when the woman is tired, sick or incapacitated(heavily pregnant),should the man help out with the cooking. But the man helping out with the cooking at such times doesn't automatically make it his responsibility!

From time immemorial,it has been the responsibility of the woman to cook for her husband/family!

Deal with it!undecided

Danhumprey: Cooking is a woman's responsibility! Like it or hate it. Agree or disagree. That's your problem! End of discussion!

If you don't like it,go and die!

Just have it in mind that cooking is a woman's RESPONSIBILITY to her husband/partner and family!angry

Nuff said. To the innocent young ladies who may be tempted to lap up the toxic stuff being bandied by the 'crew' on this thread, I advice you to take heed.

IT is primarily your responsibility to cook for your husband and family. Its one of the hallmark of a stable successful marriage. That of course is not to say the husband cannot cook once in while. Heck, I can't count the number of times I've personally gone to the market buy the foodstuff, cook and serve my wife. Yes, serve her!

I don't done see it as any big deal because she recognises I'm doing her a favour.

But woe betide her the day I ask her prepare food and she tells me its ''not her responsibility" as many of these fish-brained feminists trolls have been yapping. She go no say its not by mistake I have a pe*** and she a vag***. angry angry

Truckpusher: Don't give up. Most of these Nairaland female tigers are just toothless bulldogs in real life. grin

If you see the length at which most of them would go to keep their relationship intact ,you'd be dumbfounded. grin

All these bananabenders, carefreewannabes and the entire park of feminist wannabes are the easiest of women to control, manipulate and do whatever you wish .Mark my words we've seen them before and we are still seeing them today.

One night of marathon is enough to reset their brains. grin

You know that awkward moment when a supposedly hard babe follows you around while crying like a puppy telling everyone that cares to listen - how much she loves you? wink.......She doesn't really love you ,you're just too hot to cage and every woman wants to do this (cage this wild man and keep him for herself) grin
Do not loose hope ,it is normal for teenagers from homes where there is no love between parents to resent men especially if their fathers were bad men to their mothers, the only difference now is that they are hiding under feminism to vent their anger. grin

Just get yourself one and prove me wrong......Ayam waiting cheesy

LOLZZZ!! grin grin grin grin of course, only an iidiot will take these NL closet feminists seriously.

But who are we to begrudge them their few minutes of fantasy, however inane it may be? shocked No doubt, it must be immensely gratifying for them and their horde of IQ-bereft followers to form "big girl" on the virtual world of cyberspace by typing crap all in the name of feminism. Plssss allow them to enjoy it while it lasts. . . grin grin

The thing about fantasies is that they're just that: fantasy. The reality normally should hit them once they log out. Nonesence

Religion / Re: Is The Expression, "God Helps Those Who Help Themselves Biblical"? by doofanc: 1:45am On Sep 23, 2014
Udoabasi: Some of those examples are not in the bible and the fact that people continually use them does not make them valid. It is even dangerous as the bible warns against adding or subtracting anything from the bible. Like your first example. Some churches warm against adding the adjective, "sweet" to "fellowship" while sharing the grace as there is no bitter fellowship with the holy spirit. The bible records, "the fellowship of the holy spirit" not "the sweet fellowship of..." Thank you.

So is it wrong to say "sweet fellowship"?

@OP, IMO its only morally loose, ill-brought up and hopelessly unintelligent girls that find themselves boxed into having sex against their wish. Again, no apologies: Any lady who finds herself in such a situation has only her pathetic self to blame.

Science/Technology / Re: 20 Of The World's Most Destructive Weapons In History by doofanc: 12:01pm On Sep 13, 2014
50calibre: The Russians have a history of creating monstrous weapons. While the US focuses more on smaller precision weapons, Russia couldn't care about precision, they create monstrous weapons to strike fear & take every thing out.

The Tsar Bomb is the largest every man made explosion, the USSR initially planned to make it a 100Mgt yield but later had to reduce it to 50Mgt for fear of what it might not only do to the people testing it, but what it might do to the planet. Yet the explosion was so large (about 1000+ times larger than Hiroshima or Nagasaki) it caused a minor earthquake.

This struck fear into the Americans, that the UN had to meet to start talks on Nuclear proliferation treaty.

The Topol-M is another Russian monstrosity, this beast is able to deliver enough war heads to take out a sizeable chunk of any country. Its so terrifying they nicknamed it Satan
