Athleticism is the basic foundation of the great players and sheva is so unathletic for a marquee player its untrue.

@viee

well it seems you get orgasmic when you read the collins books.

I must admit they have their attractions. But don't you just hate a book that just seems to give you what you want, feeding you with juicy morsels of gossip, and sexual tit bits.

Oh horrible I tell you horrible grin

I guess I am in the minority of those who abhored the film. Talk about a film that tries so hard to make you depressed.

Utterly predictable. I felt so bad that at the end I was rooting for him to just lock himself in his bathroom, run the tub full of water, plug the damned medical machines in the socket and electrocute himself with them. They would have been of some great use then.

frankly i find the whole equity and fairness thing weird.

In my own opinion what woud be fair and equitable would be that only ethnic minorities should be given federal posts. Then we might have an incentive for the tripod of majorities to break up to their smaller constituencies, and end their ruinous domination of the smaller ethnicities.
Politics › Re: Progressive Taxation And Exam Score Redistribution by doyin13(m): 1:51pm On May 27, 2007
i think bolarge already addressed the disingenuity of the analogy.

for one progressive taxation is meant to address amongst other things the supposed inequities of the wider society of which grade disparity might be one.

I have met many people who don't like the book, but I find it one of the most satisfying reads ever. the comedy is absolutely glorious, very complex but intriguingly so, and it offers an insight into the lives of an idealistic generation in the immediate post colonial era, especially the returnees from abroad.

For all this I have to say it is the best book I have read by a Nigerian(Anthills of the Savannah runs a close second) if not by any one.

talking about sidwell, he just might give mikel a run 4 his money.

He doesnt have mikel's poise on the ball but he sure does go forward more than mikel does, and he is a more ferocious tackler.

I categorise sidwell as a typical premiership player, and mikel more european.

@jewyork

while rock pays no heed to my 'ilk', hiphop caricatures what is deprived about black people. I might ignore rock but I absolutely detest hiphop, of the popular
variety anyway. Prefer the likes of Little Brother, Dilated Peoples, Oddisee, Mos def Pharoahe Monch and Common.

I find it one of the most absurd connections linking Soyinka and cultism.

A disastrous distortion of history.

With Achebe and Fela. Holy trinity of Nigerians
Music/Radio › Re: For Rock Fans by doyin13(m): 12:56am On May 24, 2007
At least I have defenders.

Frankly my reasons for detesting rock stem from the fact that they already get enuff support from ppl the music was meant for. Carlinhos Brown plays rock and i like it. Otis Redding was also mean with the guitar and I liked it. But rock venerates a lifestyle that didn't have ppl of my ilk (ie colour wise) in mind and I would feel like an impostor if I tried to bum rush their thing.

I dont feel I am ignorant. In fact if you name the group I probably know them. I guess I just see things in black and white, no pun intended.

As a football scout I would definitely recommend Kaka.

Perhaps you can prove in any sort of way in which Soyinka betrayed Nigerians by highlighting the scourge of road traffic accidents in the country.

It wasn't a post that existed b4 he arrived. He wasnt filling any corrupt boots.

He should be thanked rather than crucified.

Sports › Re: Strictly Barcelona Fans by doyin13(m): 1:49pm On May 23, 2007
@dason

you think this is some mysticism page or what. Barca have played the best football in Europe for the past few years. That is why they were dominant.

This season just a few injuries have been responsible for the drop in form, especially Etoo's. Admitedly Ronaldinho has not been at his best and the inclusion of Zambrotta( should be belleti playing) and Thuram has not been helpful in my opinion. The attacking play from defence has suffered as a result.

But the recent demolition of ATL. Madrid shows what this team is still capable off.

So dont hate. angry Appreciate. grin

Politics › Re: Propose A Solution To The Niger-delta Crisis by doyin13(m): 6:38pm On May 20, 2007
@Backslider

I am not against paying taxes to the federation account if other states will do the same. Or else how will the Federal government run itself.

I also envisage that in any future arrangement due to the impoverished state of vast swathes of the North , they will require SOME assistance.
But handing hand and foot 10% of the federal revenue to Kano, a figure that is incommensurate with its productive capacity is madness, and economic stupidity aside of the injustice of it all.

The money will only be used to perpetuate useless bureaucracies and phantom workers in non functional entities.

I'd rather have one region of the country with a lot of money where we can collect ouselves rather than for the whole country to be in a perilous state. The latter will only lead to the end of the country anyway.

All of a sudden they are hosting or on standby to host all manner of sports tournament.

Gilded clothing to hide a decayed polity.

Shame on these bastards. They do not know but they sow the seeds of their destruction.

U should have discerned by now.

I don't particularly support anybody.

I just like to spread d wealth.

On the other hand, if I were to support anyone it would be Federer.

Only player since Borg to be able to compete on all surfaces. (Oh well Agassi as well)
