spy24: Many people on nairaland don't know football
I can't believe that most of you are surprised by osimhens performance yesterday.. and you guys seems to be insinuating that yesterday was his only good performance so far
Incase you guys don't know, the difference so far between the likes of ivory coast, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria so far is that we have osimhen and those teams don't
The guy has been our best player in all the games we have played so far, without him this team would have been like any other team
Secondly the entire defense line and the goalkeeper have been very good and consistent. aside these two factors( osimhen, defense and goalkeeper) only lookman is the next individual worthy of mention..
Iwobi and Onyenka has actually been good but most of you don't know because to you people if they are not giving KDB and Bellingham passes they should not play in the team, mumu thinking Iwobi and Onyeka are not holding the midfield well, the defence has been outstanding and Zaidu is the underrated player, he feeds Osimhen consistently |

Henryjr: So far, the men above has been doing great
1. Ola Aina - He is my number 1 so far
2. Victor Osimhen - selfless, team player and a great forward
3. Calvin Bassey - he is part of the reasons the defence is solid. And when he replaced zaidu to go a bit forward, he used the opportunity to create a goal scoring chance
4. Ademola Lookman - he is giving his all. 2 goals and 1 assist, that's what Nigeria needs to reduce the pressure on Osimhen
5. Troost Ekong - superb
6. The coach's tactics and dynamics - whether you like it or not, this guy has done a great job.
7. Nwabali - the goalie has been terrific
8. Omeruo - has been a great substitution. He should be starting our subsequent matches, for Bassey to take the place of Zaidu
Average 1. Ajayi 2. Onyeka 3. Iwobi - this guy's legs are obviously faster than his brain. Regardless, he made great passes and holds the midfield momentarily 4. Simon Moses. He is a great player, though he has not impressed us in this tournament
Not so good 1. Zaidu - greed, wrong passes 2. Chukwueze - he will make you hate the whole team with his pattern of play. Zaidu is creating problems for the opponents by cobstantly passing the ball to Osimhen |

adabaraabdul: This marginalisation thing you igbos say is very funny to me. If you guys want more representation in Government, you guys must learn how to play politics and key to the center, Governors like Imo state Gov. understands this. Playing regional politics will not take one far, spread your tentacles to the centre, make networks. But truly the people marginalised in Nigerian Government are the minorities spread all over the federation, the bulk of them all are more than all the Igbos in Nigeria. They are the ones truly marginalised. Nigeria does not belong to Hausa, Igbos and Yorubas. Thank you. Yorubas cried out too, its about who controls power, you can see northerners lamenting about CBN moving key depts to Lagos forgetting that Buhari moved University of Transportation to Daura including marine transport when there's no major rivers in Katsina, its just wickedness and not politics when federal character laws are violated by one group |

The Igbos have faced discrimination in recruitments to military and paramilitary over the years to a point that they lost interest. Even when they bribe the officers they hardly make the final list because they are not represented in the recruitment boards.
Imagine that Frank Mbah had to be promoted 3 times in 3 months to make him a DIG because IGP Solomon Arase insisted as Chairman of Police Service Commission that South East MUST be represented in DIG Cadre in line with federal character.
I travel on Nigerian roads and many people will tell you they have never met an Igbo Customs Officer, na northerners full there and they controlled it for decades until Tinubu recently appointed a Yoruba. Our goods are seized and we have to go beg an Emir in the North to call someone in the Customs to help us.
When Igbos cry out about marginalisation only wicked Nigerians will pretend as if they are making noise and say its they have not built political bridges. Go to America and you find several Igbos in their Police and military, an Igbo lady was made a General in US Army last year and it was published here. |

Hisbah and some parts of northern Nigeria are still living in ancient times whilst the people who brought the religion to Africa are carrying out reforms and modernisation and doing everything to attract investments to their countries. Meanwhile, I don't see states banning alcohol in Nigeria as sincere as long as they enjoy proceeds from alcohol taxes in other states which is like saying "I don't eat dog meat but I enjoy drinking the water used in cooking it" |

Foreign Affairs › Saudi Arabia Opens First Liquor Store by Dpharisee(op): 8:23am On Jan 28, 2024 |
The shop is located in the capital Riyadh and will serve only non-Muslim diplomatsSaudi Arabia has opened its first liquor store in over 70 years, several news outlets reported on Wednesday, citing diplomats. The store is reportedly located in the Diplomatic Quarter in the capital of Riyadh. The shop will exclusively serve non-Muslim diplomats, who will be required to register to buy alcohol in advance via a mobile app and get a clearance code from the Foreign Ministry, according to a document cited by Reuters. Monthly limits for liquor purchases will also be in place. It is unclear if non-Muslim expatriates outside of diplomatic circles will have access to the store. Local residents, however, will not be served, and the alcohol ban that has been in place since 1951 in Saudi Arabia is not being rescinded. Meanwhile, Riyadh on Wednesday confirmed earlier reports that it is preparing new restrictions on alcohol imports within diplomatic circles. According to the Center of International Communication (CIC), the new laws aim to combat the black-market liquor trade. “This new process will continue to grant and ensure that all diplomats of non-Muslim embassies have access to these products in specified quotas,” the CIC said in a statement to Reuters. CIC did not mention the new store in its statement, however. The opening of a liquor shop is among the latest measures taken under a wider strategy known as Vision 2030 that seeks to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy, boost its standing in the world, and introduce a degree of social liberalization. Under this policy, in recent years the country has allowed non-religious tourism and concerts, lifted restrictions on women to drive cars, relaxed segregation of men and women in public places and waived requirements for women to wear all-covering black robes, or abayas, among other measures.Saudi Arabia is not the only nation that has an alcohol ban. Others include Kuwait, Iran, the UAE, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, and several other Muslim-majority countries, though most of them allow non-citizens and non-Muslims to buy and consume https://www.rt.com/business/591251-saudi-arabia-liquor-store/fergie001 nlfpmod
