The damning part is that the Federal Government knew(as would be expected) who owns the helicopters ,but went on to intentionally deceive the citizenry as to the ownerships. This blatant attempt to deceive the public when all the players are former or current members of the Government is uncalled for. Once the citizens no longer trust its leadership, it(the Government), is on borrowed time. It is better to hide things that can cause confusion from the people than to lie to them.

You shouldn't use raw manure or tender plants. It will burn them.It is best to let it age.

I consider NNS Karaduwa to be the single most valuable asset purchase of the Nigerian military. Not JF-17, MI-35M or NNS Unity.

The Karaduwa represents my aspirations for a self-sufficient Nigerian military. It's a beautiful boat, unfortunately photos showing the entire vessel are not yet available.


In total we have 2 locally made IPVs in service, one locally made tugboat. When we add the 120(80 delivered) ordered Inshore Patrol Crafts it shows we are getting somewhere.


From what i've now understood with this project, it is not actually the Nigerian navy that built it. The Nigerian navy designed it, while Dormanlong Engineering, a local oil& gas and shipbuilding company built the vessel and delivered.



Personally, it would be nice for the navy to build much larger, I'll say 58 meters - 62 meters, at-least 2 units. I often look at the KCR-60 from Indonesia, and i say to myself, "we can deliver this".


Big ups to the Nigerian navy, i am satisfied with the outcome of the Karaduwa.

If this wasn't built by navy engineers then do you have an idea what happen to the hull of SDB2? Last I knew it was completed. If you recall the hull is about the same size(38m).

This is an Abeking and Rasmussen craft, same as NNS Brass and Yola. However, i am referring to this as a new build because everything in this boat has been changed by the Nigerian navy, even the haul has been slightly redesigned. I see no reason to classify her by her former title. In my opinion, this vessel is now an Andoni class boat.

The bridge and mast definitely look like andoni (P100)

The battery is set in the trunk closet to the the engine,this is to allow it delivery as much power as possible to the engine when cranking.The further out the more difficult it is to deliver power.

Abuja — As part of preparations towards inducting new platforms, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is
expanding the apron at the military wing of Yola International Airport to enhance air operations against
the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-east and is inducting more aircrafts into its inventory.
This came as German government monday disclosed its plans to commence the supply of military
hardware to support Nigeria's counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the North-east and
Niger Delta regions, before the end of 2016.
The Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, in a statement
yesterday, said NAF, at present, is at the verge of inducting the Mi-35M helicopter gunship and JF-17
Thunder Fighter Ground Attack aircraft in addition to acquiring the Super Mushshack trainer aircraft.
Famuyiwa said that there are also strong indications that the US Government may give the nod sooner
than expected with regards to the sale of Super Tucano to the NAF to replace the ageing Alpha Jets.
He said that the proposed fleet expansion, according to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal
Sadique Baba Abubakar, necessitated the expansion of existing facilities including the apron, pilot crew
room, office/residential accommodation and recreation facilities newly put-in place to enhance the welfare
of the personnel and reposition the NAF for effective and efficient air operations.

maritime awareness visibility headquarters is here in Lagos but the satellite stations are along the coasts,

Towards stepping up its fight against crude oil theft, sea piracy and other maritime crimes, the Nigerian
Navy has procured and launched 25 locally made security patrol boats. The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice
Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas said on Thursday in Port Harcourt that the boats which are less expensive than
imported ones, boast the necessary features suitable for military operations.
According to the Chief of Naval Staff, the cost of production of a unit of the boats is less than half the
cost of producing similar boats from overseas. The Nigerian Navy decided to look inwards by contracting
local ship building vendors for the provision of some of her defence articles due to the current serious
economic downturn, and the decision has helped in conserving foreign exchange.
The indigenous manufacturers of the boats have also been given the opportunity to prove themselves
while garnering experience in the process. Vice Admiral Ibas says the boats would help the Navy to
effectively monitor the creeks and further protect the maritime space, and consequently those doing
legitimate business from harassment by criminal elements.
The boats are 8.2 metres in length, with speed of about 40 knots. Each of the boats also has two gun
mounts, a radar system that can detect shallow waters and two 250 horsepower outboard engines. Apart
from having 16 to 18 hours of endurance to their credit, the boats are also fitted with outboard engines
and life rafts.
Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State governor has also pledged that the state is ready to support the Nigerian
Navy in its efforts at combating criminal activities in the maritime space. ‘’We will partner with the
security agencies and will not relent in ensuring that we provide all the necessary logistics for the patrol
boats,” Wike assured the Naval Chief. The governor has demanded for a list of the Navy’s requests to
underline the state’s commitment.
In the next two months, the Navy is expected to take delivery of 50 more security patrol boats with more
improved features and anti-ballistic protection, towards ensuring that the nation’s waters are saturated
with patrol boats for improved security.
