Hi guys, my friend is in kinda dilemma, he wants to apply for a UK student visa, he has gotten his admission. The problem is, he has previous tourist visa rejections from US, Canada and Australia, the agent handling his application is advising him not to declare the visa refusals since it's not UK or Ireland, that if he declares it, it might prolong the approval of his application because they will start investigating why they rejected him. The refusals wasn't because of anything bad, it was mostly his employment situation then and weak home ties. He is asking everyone for advice, so I decided to bring it here so I can hear from more experienced people.

I really don’t know if traditional marriage is seen as an actual marriage, I doubt but maybe someone else can help with your question

no update UKVI keeps asking me the same questions, send your name, paper number, etc. I’m still waiting on the MP to forward the case to the parliament

Hello everyone. Pls gurus in the house I need help with this question as I’m about to fill my younger sister visa application. She’s under the child visa category as she’s just 15 years and our dad is late. My mom is her sponsor. The area where we need to provide a consent form since it just mom do we to provide a death certificate for dad in place of his consent etc. or just mom is sufficient. We just confused � pls help clarify this. Thanks

if you say the dad is late, you have to prove that with substantial docs, also yeah you will still need consent letter from the mum as well, court order will be best to add to be on a very safe side. Do not forget the death certificate, because your story has to check out 100%

despite taking up a formal case with the UK parliament, it has gotten to me emotionally, because I know how hard I had to fight to get my career up to this level, this is devastating. God dey sha. I spent almost 200k trying to get a Nigerian passport, now I’m about to do the same, coupled with the Nigerian stress on it, and who’s fault is that? Who takes responsibility for the damage they’ve caused me? All this dehumanization from these guys, God dey

Update- Passport delivered and visa granted. I returned all glory to the almighty God, and many thanks to @Justwise and other people who advised when I was so confused.

Dude, they just know what they're doing how? I have been seeing your comments and complaints and I'm sorry you're going through this. But here is the truth, there is no amount of complaints you drop here that would make the UKVI return your passport if it is lost. Here is what I suggest you do - talk to your sponsor and propose you getting another passport so they can do another COS with that one and submit to UKVI. You can suggest it to UKVI either by yourself or by your sponsor before you do the passport. Through your sponsor would be better and more effective/persuasive I think. Since your visa has been approved and they can't locate your passport, they might agree to put the visa in the new passport and cancel the one that can't be found. You're the one it's affecting, focus and see how you can smartly navigate this.

bro that’s what I’m saying, they are not admitting that this passport is lost. They’ve been going back and forth telling me they contacted TLS meanwhile they did not, can’t you see all this is just to buy time, also I have given them that option of sending a new passport but they choose to tell me they will send the passport. I’m not for that anymore, will take up the case with the UK parliament this week

To add : I also asked for the outcome of the decision and they refused to answer.

if they needed another COS they would have asked, they asked the first time I sent in the application cos it expired and we got them another one, they just know what they’re doing really

I went to TLS, thinking UKVI sent them a mail like they said, but they didn’t, TLS now said they will scan that mail and send back to them cos I printed it. I’m done with all that back and forth, filing a proper case this week, will forget about the passport and do a new one

the games continue, until it turns to legal thing now they will understand, decision was made September 2nd but passport was withheld up till 17th November and TLS was confident they are not with it as of 16th November, so who is with it, the quicker they accept responsibility for this mess, the better for them, I am so disgusted

Legal I meant isn’t suing them. Since it’s work visa. I would suggest you write them and make enquire about the earlier decision. if the earlier decision came out successful. Maybe it’s possible you get another passport and send to them. If that is possible. It not as easy as that tho but never say never. You can’t continue to wait when the passport is actually misplaced.
