Islam is the only way to eternal salvation. The argument is this: There is only one God(Allah) and he had sent his guidance to humanity with the same message since Adam till this present Age. But vast majority of humanity either reject, twist or forget those messages. Later generations who received the adulterated messages either started worshipping the Prophet who brought the original message or call it the religion of this prophet or that.

So according to Islam, God sent about 124,000 prophets and messengers to mankind, starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and ending with finality with Muhammad (saw).

Among those Prophets whose messages were adulterated or forgotten, came forth various religions including Christianity, Confucius, Buduism and many other religions.

Every Prophet sent by God to mankind preached Islam(belief in one God and the messager of that time and bowing down in prayer)

It was prophet Abraham who called followers of God Muslims:

And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive. He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham. It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation) ; that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah! He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help! Quran 22:78

1. Hadith: only two invocations go directly straight to Allah and those are Lah ilaha ila Allahu and the prayers of the father for his children. So you want your prayers answered, ask your father to pray for you

2. Hadith: father is the middle door paradise(best way to paradise) . It is up to you to take advantage of it or not

My own mum died suddenly at 52yrs fifteen years ago. We were so devastated. Knowing the good Sadaqa does to the dead, I fed many people every day during Ramadan iftar that year. I was in the North then.

On her 40th day after death, I saw her come to our house and gave me one eternal hug. It was like she was rolling and dancing with me outside our house in Lagos. She didn't talk. It felt so real unlike a dream.

I never saw her until about 8 or 10 years later, because I am the kind who doesn't really dream.
In that second dream, she was calmer. No talking or hugging, she was only smiling at me. Then she presented me with a flower from her pocket. And the dream ended.

Apart from giving charity on her behalf, one thing I know is that I really taught and let her practice Islam very well while she was alive, to the extent she started doing voluntary fasting more than myself. Cheers
