Its not just a subtle kind of disrespect for the wife´s people which the wife brought it on herself and her people its also a vielled threat. Now ladies listen well and listen good. This is done in igbo tradition and am sure the husband must be igbo. I know cos my uncle who is igbo did it to his wife. Now, I don´t know if its done in the yoruba custom cos none of my yoruba relatives have done such yet. Maybe cos yoruba ladies know how to respect their husbands and elders unlike our igbo sisters since its not really taught at home.
It depends on what the wife did. In my uncles case his wife served his uncles and brothers the wrong part of cow that was killed during a celebration. The brothers and uncles felt insulted and insisted he sends her home to punish her so she had to take suspension for 4 weeks. She went home and came back fatter than when she was at my uncles home.

government to halt any alleged training for political purposes. In the letter written to
Professor Christ of Heyns and
signed by SERAP Executive

the group called for the
investigation of the allegtion and for whoever is involved to
be brought to justice. SERAP’s petition followed
allegation last week by former
President Olusegun Obasanjo,
who accused the government
of President Goodluck Jonathan
of “training snipers and other armed personnel secretly and
clandestinely acquiring
weapons to match for political
purposes like Abacha, and
training them where Abacha
trained his own killers.” The petition read: “We are

the government’s responsibility to safeguard the safely and

“It also constitutes an assault

Second, so Boko Haram is as a result of the North not producing the current president? It must be astounding that Southerners weren't blowing themselves up when the North kept producing president after president.

Third, wasn't the said agreement a PDP only agreement? That isn't binding on the rest of the country.

Fourth, isn't it time for Nigeria to decentralise? Decentralisation will eliminate drastically the need for regions to demand their son/daughter becomes president.

In addition to what u said, from all the presidents the north ever produced which ones or one ever produced developement to their home apart from siting a refinery a million miles from its source in the niger delta region.
Since GEJ came, has he not built schools in the north, knowing that the reason northerners follow their corrupt pollitical leaders is cos illetracy is almost 90% high. Northerners should respect themselve and calm down. They should realize that the pressidential sit is taken and that come 2015, GEJ will emerge winner.
They should realize that the blood they intend to shed is the blood of Nigerians, their brothers. If they deicde they won´t calm down then its going to be one very nasty incident cos Niger delta boys won´t sit quietly nor will Oduduwa and Ndigbo watch and see their people being slaugthered.
If all these warnings don´t sink into their heads then its probably best we split as a country. Funny enof, even of we split that won´t be the end of issues like this, cos in the north if a middle belter takes the sit, core-northerners would form another group that will start making noise and killing people. That should show u all that our problem did not start there and that this ethicity problem is a killer. I think it should be changed to citizenship
