This is a very sad confirmation of the fact that most Nigerians are indeed dull, lack critical thinking, and only thrive on being herded like cows. What the fck?

Do you mean a body that's been enclosed underground for over a week is expected to be exhumed without the expectation of any body fluid seeping through? The illiterate idiots and cheap clout chasers can't even figure out a simple decomposition process..what a shame.

It is indeed true that the leaders and government that we get and have are a reflection of the citizenry and thus, very well deserved.

No one is allowed or expected to think differently or have differing views from the mob or else such one will be termed either a "hater, enemy of progress, insensitive, or jealous".

Majority of the youths who have been pinned down by successive failed governments and a raging level of joblessness have found an opportunity to trend on a "poor" dead boy's sad tale and want to use it as an opportunity to venge their frustrations by way of protests where they'll go destroying and looting people's source of livelihood.

The latest with them now and a very annoying one is hearing all the idiots coming online and on TikTok analyzing and saying all sorts of nonsense. Adults will come in to be fooling themselves that since the boy passed on they can't sleep because they keep seeing him in their dreams. Are you idiots okay at all?

What do you expect to see in your sleep when you are fixated and looking to milk a boy's death for clout all day due to your joblessness?

Disgusting to say the least.

Illiterates with access to phones and the internet.
Thanks for sharing. I'm pleased to come by someone who has broad knowledge like you have exhibited and who is patient enough to share it on NL these days.

Critical thinking capacity is something that is going nearly extinct in the Nigerian society today, and I can quite relate with almost everything you have written.

You deserve a follow on NL. Please write a lot more often.

I hope ADEKUNLE is evicted this week. He is possibly just as vile as his girlfriend. When I saw him say that, I knew he must be a hideous!
Guy has probably been pretending all the while with his equally hideous girlfriend.

Can't the HOH change BFF, please?
Venita should not be upstairs with our HOH.

Baye made a horrible error that she would never make again in her life: Girl power is a fraud. The girls would never do good for themselves.
I cannot imagine what Mercy is doing with Venita against Ilebaye. It looks like a scene from Jezebel in the old testament. Kai, she goes as far as saying 'don't waste your advice' to Mercy who is having an otherwise pleasant conversation with Baye.

So evil.

VENITA is very unfair. Very vile.

They cannot hide their bile against Ilebaye. This task where all ladies are grouped together has given the girls the opportunity to attack the poor lady.

To imagine that almost nobody protected Ilebaye. So unfortunate. This would make ILEBAYE WIN.

To imagine that this same Venita has 2 daughters who are much younger than Ilebaye?! To imagine that part of the insults she is hurling at Baye is that she always goes around boys. Who goes after a boy the most in the house?

I cannot wait until she is voted out on Sunday. Adekunle would be so relieved to see her back. Someone told me Ike said during his time in the house that Venita has been an escort for his friends in the past. I do not know how true that is...

Pere just asked a group including CeeC, Mercy and Cross, 'which would you prefer, a Money-Minting machine or Global Power and Influence'?

Mercy: (jumps in) Money. What would I use Power and Influence for?

Cross: If you have Money from your machine, it would bring power and influence.

Mercy: (again cuts in excitedly) I would stay in my house with the machine for 2 months. When I come out ehn...

Ceec: It all boils down to money. So of what use is the Power and Influence...

Pere shakes his head and smiles before saying 'makes sense sha'. He knows better, but has realised that was not the place to educated the money-driven HMs around him.

Now, this is one of the reasons why I watch BB9ja and why I like Pere and Adekunle. Nigerians worship money and a small horizon. It incapacitates us and blunts our capacity to reason for long-term development.

That is what Power and Influence does. It comes on the basis of knowledge and wisdom, naturally. All these are necessary to maintain values like delayed gratification and systemic thinking and systemic organisation/planning.

Power and Influence is far more valuable than money, but these ones whom Kanayo O Kanayo described as dashing ignorant people 120M apparently do not have this understanding...

Guys this another lesson for you in this world.
No one cares and you will always be blamed for everything.

Women are not expected to manage provoking men all the time but men are expected to manage how they react all the time.

Have never seen anyone told women to walk away during confrontation is always the men expected to walk away.....lol.

Someone have been goading you for 5weeks.....you have even reported her 3 times to biggie during your DS and Nothing was done to her......the one time you had enough and reacted they are saying you have anger issues.

Pere has anger issues but no one says Alex have provocation issues.....lol

Anger is bad and provocation is good.......double standards that keep making the world a joke.
You can say this again. Big Brother indeed warned Doyin on goading and provoking, in using her a second strike shortly before she was evicted.

Unfortunately, the larger world seems to encourage passive, and sometimes direct violence against men; possibly in order to make up for centuries that men supposedly maltreated women.

In addition, skin bleaching has been proven to expose the body to all manners of chronic diseases like skin cancer and kidney failure. It should be discussed and discouraged.

The price quadrupled between 2015 - to date because APC GOVT Failed to effectively manage the Forex rate devaluing the naira from N180 in 2015 to close N1000 to a a dollar in 2023 that is making naira to lose 82% of its value! shocked shocked

Note if a currency loses 100% of its value that currency becomes utterly useless!

Okay now after devaluation these wicked souls still kept salary and wages at the same level it was back in 2015! shocked shocked shocked

That's why now many many Nigerians are so severely depressed, wretched, miserable, hopeless all thanks to this evil gang of so-called ruling party.
Let us have a conversation:

Tell me, how does/can the government manage the exchange rate in a democracy? The exchange rate works according to demand and supply. For as long as there is more naira available to buy the dollar, the value of the dollar would continue to rise against the naira.

Nobody can hold that. The international market price of a bag of rice has not changed as much. What has affected the price in Nigerian Naira is the value of the Naira. If the Naira becomes strong enough to hold its place against the dollar e.g 200 naira, the price of rice would naturally also fall.

The value of the naira would further fall if the government raises minimum wage as there would be more Naira to chase the dollar. The way out is to make available goods and services to every Nigerian in Nigeria as produced by majorly Nigerians inside Nigeria. It makes money flow within the Nigerian ecosystem while adding value to it on the value chain.

The current system sees money flowing out of Nigeria to the international market and developed countries to add value there while we receive inferior quality finished luxuries like artificial hair for women, razor blades, toothpicks and dental floss and refined petrol. I hear PZ even imports Palm Oil for its manufacturing at Agbara! We import bitumen to make our roads. Our net importation is the problem.

No Government can hold the currency down when we import almost everything and export unprocessed (crude) oil.

Earning remained same while others expenses went to the roof, this is where the problem lies. They are not ready to review it upward. The purchasing power has been severely weakened. That's why people are just borrowing money anyhow. A huge chunk of salary is now strictly spent on feeding with little or no disposable income

That party is a torn in the flesh of Nigerians. A plague
It isn't about any of the political parties. All the political parties in Nigeria are same. We don't do ideological political parties in Nigeria.

If anything, APC / PDP Governorship swapping in Edo State should teach us. We have a LP Governor in Alex Otti today, not so? No APGA Governor including PO made his State an Industrial Mecca. It isn't about the political parties.

You may have to consider my comment above.

I know that APC is bad. I have never voted for them

But using prices of goods to judge a government is not a good thing.

That sack of milk would have cost less than N2000 in the 1980's..if not less, and back then, the economy was just as hard as it was.

And voting PDP would not have made the milk cheaper. In all the years in power, did PDP boost local milk production? Ditto APC. Because if you want cheap milk, it starts with producing it at home

All those European countries we import milk from, the workers that process the milk and the farmers that produce the milk, the cost of production is going up over there. Prices are going up too over there.. So, cost of milk would go up, and would impact on us here.

Then there is the fact that all our governments, APC included, have not been earning us more and more dollars. Instead, na to spend dollars on import and defending the naira that is what they do. Nothing to encourage local production. Then Nigerians too....Fulans would rather continue with the inefficent method of roaming around with cows, and too few nigerians are interested in MODERN (Not archaic) dairy farming (and our state governors too no dey help matter...except to import cow from abroad, which would struggle with our weather)>

Am sure you think I am a tinubu supporter...well., Tinubu is basically like Buhari. The only thing he has done different is subsidy removal (which he may even kuku bring back), and that one was because the cash that was there to subsidisie is no longer there. Otherwise the more things change, the more they stay the same

If you want cheap milk, we got to produce it here at home. We got to even pay for the thing. But we prefer to import, and when the dairy worker in Obodo Oyinbo that we import from decides that it is time to upgrade to new car, the cost of the car would be passed on to us.

Better we vote out the APC, PDP, LP and co, and try something radically different.
This is possibly the most intelligent comment I have read here. I have a few reservations though, respectfully.

1. I think Tinubu may actually be the best Captain to steer this ship right now. He is an experienced finance person with local and international knowledge. He is also a leader of very many great men.

If his health doesn't fail him and the politicians do not sabotage him, he knows what you have written - which I also know - and would work hard to make Nigeria better than what he met. He definitely would want to leave a positive legacy, and be the National impression of what Chief Awolowo was to Western Nigeria; something Chief Obasanjo may not have successfully achieved.

2. Voting out APC/PDP/LP is only good on paper. LP was the third option people clamoured for. It turned out that it was a mere reflection of the two parties and even had ethnic and religious leaning. So it tells that Nigeria's problem may not be the political parties, but the capacity of the average Nigerian to see the bigger picture, the broader horizon. The average Nigerian doesn't understand what it means to delay gratification.

People who cannot do that, because of the decades-old lowering of education standards, and the bastardisation of educational processes coupled with large-scale examination malpractices has led to a large population with significantly lower critical thinking abilities than what would make us compete productively with the developed world.

Nigerians simply want the soft life to be able to buy the pleasures of life. Nigerians do not understand that life would be hard to as long as the value of the naira is low - exactly as you have explained. Nigerians do not understand that even when the international commodity prices are stable (they are steadily rising), prices would continue to go up in Nigeria because the value of the naira (an import-dependent currency) would continue to in comparison with the importing currency, the US Dollar.

It doesn't matter who is the president. The price of a bag of rice or sugar or milk would continue to rise for as long as Nigeria continues to be a net-importer of finished goods and services. Even if Sultan of Sokoto and Pastor Adeboye and Rev Monsignor Matthew Kukah are President, Vice President and Senate President. Even if we have 35 other Rev. Fr Alia as Governors of the States, aside Benue where the people have elected a Catholic Priest as Governor.

It is about the economics of trade. Nigeria has to IMPORT less and EXPORT more for life to be better. It is not about any radical approach besides the written.

Kind regards.

Now I understand.
Would Mercy also be called a rapist because she drew WM's nipples last night and kisses everyone she wants - but same cannot be done to her?

In today's world, women can do a lot of things to men and get away with it. Unfortunately, Gender based misdemeanours in Nigeria today are largely viewed from the angle of men towards women. It is unfortunate, but it is what it is.

Even in UK: the Greenwood Manchester United experience, or Mendy's in Manchester City.

It is sad, but that's where we are. Kemen was disqualified years ago for touching Tboss 'without her consent'. I however doubt if Pere consented to people touching his member or watching him shower.

It is what it is. It shouldn't however bring the word 'rapist' into the conversation. Rape is a strong word, and lawyers in the house can correct me if I'm wrong: the Nigerian Law has no place (as of today) for a female rapist.

In essence, there can be no female rapist in our country. By the constitution of Nigeria - except in FCT Abuja, Rape can only be committed by a man against a woman.

He is confident because he won his own season. It doesn't mean he cannot be evicted today.

Although, I doubt that Venita beats him on the poll. I think he is stronger than Venita. But don't use his overconfidence as a benchmark.
I'm not sure if it is overconfidence. I think it is mien, his persona.

You can call him overconfident when he says he would win a Grammy. Yes, that's almost comical, but nothing else.

During his proper season, which he won, he was also like that. He never took his nominations to heart and as he increasingly survived them, he became even better.

When he became HOH in his last or penultimate week, and his love interest Queen tried to get relatively intimate with him, he calmly deferred. Being calm in the face of adversity and/or pressure is something Hazel (WM) has as a huge strength.

Mazi has it - but it is Mr Olopade/Kuku/Adekunle's title this year!

Doyin and Venita are must likely going home today. The only way WM may go home is if three housemates are to be evicted. WM is certainly more popular than Doyin and Venita.
