I do not think it is about competence. I think all ethnic groups in Nigeria have great professionals across board. I also think that there are tens of thousands of Igbos who are APC card-bearing members since the last party registration.

I fear that it might be a situation where legal professionals from that ethnic group do not want to be seen as acting against the interest of the particular ethnic group. That level of tribal sentiments would never help the ethnic group.

You cannot intend or wish to lead a people whom you have not allowed to buy land and flourish amidst you, when you do same everywhere else in the world. Underline 'buy land', not 'rent land'. You cannot impress it upon your people not to associate with the rest of the country - by refusing to sell land to people from outside your communities.

Suffice to say that the names in any PCC is a window into the type of government and governance that would take place if the party wins.

Obi currently doesn't seem to even have the South East where he is from.

Atiku and Tinubu seen to currently be at each other, neck in neck, in the real campaign to win States. While the Wike/Ayu situation is tearing PDP; Tinubu's age, health and Freudian slips aren't helping APC.

I see a rerun happening when the elections happen with Atiku winning most states of the North but without National Spread APC winning most in the South West, some South South and minority North Central/North West but not meeting 25% in 24 states also

.What I do not know is how this IPOB/ESN would help Obi to win the South East States which are indeed governed by APC & PDP & APGA currently!

Like Alex Ekwueme before him, PYO cannot aspire for any other role in government aside Presidency, and may thus be stuck forever, speaking and writing English, but being unable to effect the changes that he enthuses and knows - bar what he effected during his 4 months reign as Acting President.

However, if you read what I initially wrote, you may realise that I accommodated your sentiments - for its veracity.

Mr. Fashola as well as Prof Osinbajo were in and around governance and administration at high levels - both being Senior Advocates of the Federation - before they were voted into political offices. Both had worked as members of State cabinets in Lagos State, for example, amongst other roles.

However, a Deputy Governor candidate in one of the two major political parties, in fact the known opposition party in Lagos State - is as good as a Governor.

It isn't something that is done as an after-thought. Such role has to be filled by a person who has been in, about and around governance and who understands his/her role in delivering excellent service to the populace at the level and functionality of a State Governor.

As far as I know, BankyW fits that - if it comes to a popularity contest on the strength of fame in the entertainment industry as a leverage to tilt electoral victory in the PDP's favour - than Ms Akindele. Banky had been in the political 'trenches' for at least one cycle, and understands the dynamics of same. This 'emergency' politician in Jenifa reeks of unpreparedness in the PDP camp.

Ok. If you have ACCA in Nigeria, you also have to be a member of ICAN before you can derive the full benefit of your certification. In order for ACCA to become ICAN members, they have to write some ICAN papers as well. So it is not an upgrade as such in terms of superiority or inferiority.

In the UK, you can practice with the ICAEW. With your ICAN membership , you don’t have to write any exam to gain the ICAEW. In most countries, you just have to write very few of the locally developed syllabus such as Advanced Taxation in order to become a member of their local chartered accountancy body. It's not exactly so with ACCA. You don't have to write any such locally developed syllabus to become a member of ACCA or ICAEW. Most ACCA holders don't even have the advantage that comes with being a member of the ICAEW because they wrote the international variant of the ACCA and so cannot reach the pinnacle of their career say as audit partners if they choose to practice in the UK. They needed to write the ACCA UK variant in Advanced Audit and Strategic Business Reporting.

Even if you are a member of ICAEW; if you are interested in becoming ACCA, you would write the same number of papers that ICAN members needed to obtain the ACCA certification. ICAN is a member of IFAC and CAW among other global chartered accountancy bodies.

A CPA holder is useless in most of EUROPE and most of the world. Most countries are IFRS compliant however ACA is not an upgrade or superior to CPA despite you having to write ICAN papers in addition to your CPA in order to practice in Nigeria.

Most countries have similar arrangements. So the CPA holder does not know the accounting and audit standards that are prevalent in much of the world (IFRS and ISA) . So there is no superiority or inferiority as such. It’s only normal and expedient what is obtainable and it goes either ways.

In fact, none of the big 4s have their headquarters in the US or in Canada. It’s the same way you have the Nigeria office, that you have the US office.

Universal recognition is the better basis. CPA is superior in the USA or Canada. In Nigeria, ACA is superior. In the US, you can have CPA from a state and you will not be allowed to practice in another state in the US. For global universal recognition, IFRS and ISA are most prevalent. Which is the core of ICAN and ACCA; but of Coz, the a significant % of the top 500 companies are in the US.

Is the CPA more rigorous?
How rigorous it is, will be in the course content or in the elaboration of the course content and how easy it is to pick marks.
To write ACCA or ICAN averagely requires 3000 hours while the CPA test itself requires an average 150 hours. The CPA exam itself has 4 sections which is Audit, business environment, Financial accounting/reporting, and regulation... and 50% of all of the exams is multiple choice.
Of coz, one easily sees that this is just like a level in ACCA. So, other exams that they should write, it is expected to have been examined in their prior qualifications which is called the ‘masters degree equivalent’.

The rigour in ACCA or ICAN, is that you having a masters degree is not sufficient to get you such exemptions that the CPA would suggest you have. CPA has less processes and defers what you may find in ACCA to a CFA. And in no way, am I trying to diminish how rigorous the CPA exam is.

Generally you have more graduates and educated fellows than had decades ago. MSC and MBA are no longer scarce as more people have the opportunity of obtaining it. However, being a chartered accountant is always relevant; in most private organizations, it would project you further.

It is ignorant to compare ACCA/ICAN or CPA with CFA. The scope of the former is much wider. The CFA is chiefly for finance; it’s scarce and so very valuable. The reason why the CFA is scarce is besides being rigorous, the exam is very expensive. In a highly credentialised nation like Nigeria, you would have many CFA if the cost of the exam is very affordable and more accessible; but the CFA has high barriers of entry and so has retained its value significantly. However, despite such value, you cannot use your CFA anywhere in the world to become an audit partner. The organizations that needs CFA’s are very minimal in numbers and you would not earn the opportunities that being a chartered accountant affords by being a CFA. Anyone can be an accountant and anyone; even a medical doctor can be a financial analyst. However, there are certain regulations that requires strictly the consent of chartered accountants.

There is no need to convince anybody really of the relevance of acquiring professional certifications; if you are entering labour market, you would come to appreciate what advantage it may afford sooner. Most of the contents is in response to those diminishing ICAN and even the ACCA.

The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has revealed that contrary to the sanctimonious posturing of his predecessor, former Governor Peter Obi, the state was saddled with a huge domestic debt of N127 billion when heleft office in March 2014.

Speaking in the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Governor Obiano explained that his silence over the debt his predecessor sought to tie his hands with had been mainly because he did not want to allow his regime to be distracted at inception. He explained that he wanted to concentrate on the delivering his promise of good governance to Ndi Anambra.

According to him, the N127 billion debt came mostly from the 101 road contracts that the former governor hurriedly awarded at the dying minutes of his regime without making any provision whatsoever for them in order to create probles for his administration from the very first day.

Obiano listed other disingenuous designs by his predecessor to make sure that his regime never really took off. He mentioned the last minute employment of 6000 workers without provision for their welfare as well as the various hotels and independent power projects which he had no plans to complete.

He however revealed that he has quietly completed 51 out of the 101 roads and assured Ndi Anambra that the remaining 50 would soon be completed.

Obiano’s revelation came on the heels of the growing inconsistencies in the figures being thrown up by Obi which have left many discerning observers wondering just how much the former governor actually left behind.

They point at Obi’s sudden volte-face from his earlier declaration that he handed N75 billion cash to his successor and his declaration at the flag off of the PDP campaign in Onitsha yesterday that the actual amount he handed over was N48,626 billion.

While delivering an address that has been mostly cdismissed by political analysts as suicidal, Obi was caught on camera saying “when I was leaving this place, we left in savings N26bn. We set aside for important projects, N23,629 billion. If you put the two together, it will come to N48, 626 billion.”

The former governor’s contradictory accounts of the exact amount he bequeathed his successor leaves huge gaps in the emerging narrative of dubious accountability and an even more doubtful integrity.

This becomes more so in the light of the revelation that in Obi’s so called N75 billion handover are embedded all manner of moribund and toxic assets which he cleverly reported as profitable investments in the handover note.

For instance, Obi’s reportage of the 16.5% equity stake in emenite, a fibre cement roof and ceiling manufacturing company set up by the premier of the old Eastern Region, Dr M.I. Okpara, which was shared between the five states that made up the as part of the trumpeted investments he had handed over to Obiano is nothing but pure fraud.

Observers also complained that it speaks volumes about Obi’s vaunted integrity to realize that he also reported that he had invested the sum of N3.5 billion in Interfact Beverages Limited, when in reality what he invested was N1.4 billion only. This followed Obiano’s announcement that his administration would soon revise the discrepancy to reflect the actual equity stake of the state in the company.

Other dead bodies buried in Obi’s handover note include the N9 billion involuntary investment in the Nigerian Independent Power Project, conceived in 2004 by the Obasanjo regime which the Federation Account was charged to fund on behalf of the 36 states. One wonders how this investment could have found its way into Obi’s phantom savings that he handed over to Obiano in cash.

Other components of Obi’s “famous” N75 billion cash handover include the N4 billion estimated value of the land resources of Anambra State on which the oil installations of Orient Petroleum Resources stands which he “cleverly” converted into the state’s shareholding in Orient Petroleum Plc and quickly reported as his own wise investment while in actuality, the only investment in the company when Obi handed over was the N100 million invested by former governor Chris Ngige who also issued the C of O for the land.

Another embarrassing falsehood reported as part of the N75 billion cash handover is the Federal Government refund to Anambra State on the repair of federal roads in the state which stood at N10 billion during Obi’s regime.

It smacks of utter mischief to report this debt owed the state by the Federal Government as a part of the cash handover as the Federal Government has yet to clear the debt while the Obiano regime has responded to more distress calls on federal roads in the state, pushing the debt overhang now to N43.8 billion to date.

Indeed, Obi’s ill-advised decision to speak up on the actual amount he left his successor has blown up on the faces of his admirers who cringe at the embarrassing inconsistencies in his accounts which now dangles between N75 billion and N48,626 billion.

At this rate, many political observers bet that Obi may not have any reputational capital left by the end of the current electoral campaign in Anambra State.

- if the kids are like 1-5 years , she doesn’t sleep straight, the kids will keep crying and sometimes she ends up sleeping in their room just to ensure they get to sleep (which some kids don’t and the mum ‘most times’ gets to stay up with them’

- she has to get up early and cook food for the family (pack lunch boxes for the kids), bathe them, prepare them for school (on top the kids crying and making it hard for her. Some husbands sleep through it all)

- she will then take them to school before going to work (because the average Nigeria family don’t all have cars - so school run Na keke or if the school is close, trekking)

- come back, prepare dinner, wash food flasks and uniform. Do assignments etc


And the cycle begins all over again the next day…

So most times, marriage favors the man more because after work they go home and sit in front of tv, say goodnight to the kids, expect sex and then sleep

But a woman….. let’s not even argue that abeg

Good evening. Let me try to attend to your posers line by line:

1. The husband and wife virtually never get home at the same time. The average man works HARDER than his Mrs/spouse to feed his wife, his children, his extended family, his wife's extended family plus run the home to meet the woman's social and societal expectations. Recall that women generally marry UP the social ladder.

2. The 'men can go straight to bed' is all but overaching fallacy. Very few men can go straight to bed, or simply come home to bath and watch TV. There are very many house chores that married men can/often help their wives with. I sweep, clean, bathed the neonate, iron clothes, wash the vehicles, fixed or arrange all gadgets and installations, maintain same etc.

3. When I was 3, my mum never had to sleep in my room, really. My brother was freshly born at that time. By the time he was three, neither me nor him slept in our parents' rooms, of course, except we were ill or something. When mothers however, as this entire conversation is about anyway, shift marital and family attention to the children as priority, all these become a difficult thing and she'll find excuses to overpamper the children with time and attention. My parents simply dismissed us to our bedroom after night prayer back in our day. Nobody cried for attention and everyone slept, whether there was NEPA and fan or no NEPA and the kerosene lantern was at its lowest ebb. So what's new?

4. Get up early and cook:. Okay. Is Oga lying in bed when she gets up early? Oga is also often awake to assist with bathing the kids, dressing them and all - or out of home early to hustle traffic/work. Lagos is bustling by 4.30am every day and there are more men on the streets by those early hours of the day than women, innit? You wouldn't hear/read men complain about waking early anyway or helping with kids. Only husbands like Ned Nwoko, far older than their wives and with a relatively large harem may not help with child(ren) welfare at that age 1-5.

5. Let's talk about the school runs. Who is the school bus driver or keke driver? A man: someone's father from another family and another woman's husband. That's if the biological father isn't dropping the children with his vehicle. My point: it is an exclusive women preserve. What is in washing dishes? Any gender can quite rightly do that, but where the man pays for everything at home, or the lion share in most Nigerian homes, you do not expect him to contribute to house chores as much as his wife. He works hard and often funds the home heavily in lieu of this 50% domestic chores expectations. In the West where both spouses share finances equally, chores are similarly shared equally without fuss. Washing machine are in most homes, so let's not go into clothes washing chore as some female bugging.

I think I may have addressed every item you raised. Let me now shock you: I know married women with no kids at all, with their own cars and careers who still do not 'serve' regular sex in marriage. They watch TV, internet and want to sleep after 'a hard career-day'. What excuse would you quite formulate for that?

Remember that the entire article is about NO MARRIED MAN, not one, saying that his wife's libido is more than his. Not one. Not even a 60 year old man where all the kids are out of home, at least the age 1-5 child excuse wouldn't be there... Na scam.

I may be wrong, but I think there is almost NOTHING women do that men cannot and have not accomplished in history without much fuss, except what they are biologically incapable of doing e.g carrying pregnancy naturally. Women should reflect on these things. It is the reason why there would always be side chics till the end of the world in most places. Women often change priorities in marriage and leave the man short-changed.

P.S: About breastfeeding babies at night being work: Hello? Do our sisters make a complaint about everything? Should men complain about sex being hard work? Yes, the intercourse we are talking about: do you know it is very hard work for the person thrusting - usually the man?

So the person on top during the said sex works hard and that can quite be calculated is weight multiplied by distance (or length of his phallus) multiplied by acceleration due to gravity multiplied by each stroke required to reach ejaculation multiplied by number of ejaculations. This can be converted to values in Newton, Calories, Joules or kilojoules - to determine the amount of work done or energy dissipated. Yet, you'll possibly never hear or read men complain.

Women make it look like the men enjoy the sex more. Another one: when the cotton bud goes into the ear, where is the enjoyment? The bud or the ear canal? Scientifically, the vagina has relatively more nerve endings to transmit pain or pleasure than the penis. That tells you who possibly enjoys more. The force of the person doing the thrusting, which I have demonstrated earlier, is largely borne by surface on which the person receiving the thrusting is lying on, which is then transmitted to the floor. Meanwhile, don't women generally prefer more muscular and taller men for that purpose?

New fathers hardly get good sleep. I remember going to work every day with bloodshot eyes when my baby arrived years ago because the little one woke us up every other hour for attention and breast milk. It didn't matter who did the breastfeeding. Sleep was distorted for both of us - and the woman is usually on maternity leave in the first three months anyway.
