I guess the http.conf will have something you can work with.

Alternatively you could add some regular expression in your .httacces file
This may work, I am just writing it and cannot test it for you.

If this does not work straight up, fiddle with that last line. Its the only line I am not sure of but that's the concept.
WebmastersRe: Is Utiware Hosting Currently Offline Or What? by DualCore1: 7:17pm On Mar 29, 2012
The domain in your post is presently unavailable. If their site is also unavailable its possible there was an unexpected server issue. If that is the case it will be almost impossible for Utiware to contact its clients regarding this as their site is down too. Be patient.

Go to school and learn. You can also do it the hard way by asking google.com
I twist, turn and tumble PHP, MySQL and Linux in such a way that no classroom would have taught me how to. No one has to go to a school to learn what you have a passion for. Anybody with the right passion can spend zero Naira and go from zero to hero in web development. Web dev is binary, you're either zero or one.

If you are a developer/programmer as you claim then I should not be telling you how frustrating the life of a programmer/developer will be without a search engine like Google.

Information is free of charge but not free of your time and determination.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Using Your Phone As Bible On Sunday Service A Sin? by DualCore1: 1:51pm On Mar 26, 2012
This is not a sin. However when it comes to public places like churches you don't just have to do things you want to do just because its not a sin. Think about the people around you and be sure to do things in a way that will not stumble members of your congregation.

If using a handheld device to read the bible during a service will distract people around you or make them feel oppressed or make you look like a show-off, its best to use some discernment and stick to the normal hardcopy Bible.

If you attend church in Silicon Valley, ignore all I have just said and use an iPad cuz carrying normal Bible will just make you odd.
WebmastersRe: Noobs Php Questions by DualCore1: 7:16am On Mar 26, 2012
netesy: so if the text smf is changed to maybe goat the script stops working?
It wont stop working. Because the code does not test to see if the constant "SMF" is holding a specific value. It just tests to see if the constant "SMF" is holding anything at all. So as long as the constant "SMF" is defined and holding any value, the code below will return FALSE

<?php
if(!defined('SMF'))die('Hacking attempt...');
?>

if SMF developers wanted to check if the contant was a specific value, lets say 1...the code will be something like

<?php
define('SMF', 1); //this part should be in another file. I have joined both parts for the purpose of learning.

if(constant('SMF') != 1) die('Hacking attempt...');
?>

So this won't only check that a constant is defined but also check that the constant is set to a particular value (1), else the code dies.
The function constant() is used to get the content of a PHP constant.

Danyl: @dual core, thanks,actually there's one AMD telecoms that I once registered with and they offer to give me their api when am ready but the link to their api is like a url that connects me my sms interface with their gateway,how to make use of the link is bothering me,bt may be am looking deep into the stufe well, the url contains 'GET' method calls with ampersand characters somethn like dis http://amdtelecom.com/aaaa?user=danox&id=34254. For the url address to the server that host the api
@ogbongezky,how can get the joomla component u talkd abt,is it on the upgraded version of the joomla scripts on the softaculous or fantastico suites or its custom made?

@limitbreka i'll gv u a call but I'm serious abt the stuff.
@all, thanks
Most SMS gateways have same API implementation. It consists of a listener URL and a set of get variables passed to the URL through GET. You can pass the required get variables to the listner URL in PHP through cURL or fsock.
WebmastersRe: Urgently Need Help On This Dreamwaver Problem. by DualCore1: 9:13pm On Mar 23, 2012
I'm tired of yelling here about how much I hate these "webdesign" software packages.

Let me try to explain what's happening. Am image is inserted into HTML using the <img> tag. Here's how:
<img src="path to image" alt="yada yada" />

"src" means source and that is where you put the source to your image.
"alt" is used to specify an alternative text that will show incase that image has been kidnapped by . . .

the "src" will receive to types of paths. Absolute paths and relative paths.
Absolute paths are full paths to an object starting right down from "http://......"
Relative paths are paths to the object in relation to the scripts location.

Case Study:
I have a photo of me and i name it fine_boy.jpg and want to display it on my site for afrobaby to see and trip cool

Your root folder on your website is named "public_html" or "www" in most cases.
So if I create a folder under the root folder called "images" and copy my fine_boy.jpg file to it, the absolute link to the photo is http://www.yoursite.com/images/fine_boy.jpg.
The relative link to the photo (assuming my html document is in the root my my site) will be images/fine_boy.jpg

So to put this in html it will be
<img src = "images/fine_boy.jpg" alt ="Fine boy" />
or
<img src = "http://www.yoursite.com/images/fine_boy.jpg" alt="Fine boy" />

Why all this explanation?
Its possible while you were working with dreamweaver your were inserting all images and Dreamweaver was doing so for you using absolute links.
To know if this is the case, check your codes and you will see the "src" of some <img> tags having things like "C:\documents and settings\web design\images\example.jpg".
So correct all those paths and you are good to go.

I hope this wasnt confusing. Dreamweaver sucks.
PoliticsRe: Gunmen Kidnap Senator George Sekibo’s Wife In Port Harcourt by DualCore1: 8:12pm On Mar 23, 2012
Jakumo: Anyone driving a civilian status symbol Hummer SUV in a Third World country such as Nigeria should not expect pity from the vast majority of bystanders in the event of a car-jacking. Even if the Hummer happened to have been purchased at a bargain price off a used car lot in Dallas before being shipped to Nigeria, it becomes, on reaching African soil, a vulgar status symbol signifying conspicuous consumption amid the squalor of abject poverty.

A Hummer reeks of BIG money, making it natural prey for prowling road-pirates on the lookout for that big score. The kidnapping of a politician’s wife described in this report is a natural consequence of the instant monetary VALUE that gets assigned to all passengers conveyed inside high-end vehicles that get commandeered, be that on the mean streets of Mexico City, Bogota, Colombia, or Lagos, Nigeria.

By showing off a Hummer on the roads of Nigeria, the person being chauffeured is saying a sneering "phuck you" to the starving hordes gawking outside that air-conditioned cocoon of decadent luxury. That rich person is telling the huddled poor to eat cake instead of going hungry, if their anguish is about bread shortages, but most importantly, Hummer owners immediately identify themselves as members of Nigeria's looting political class, whose embezzlement careers DIRECTLY cause the medieval deprivation and suffering around them.

And yet, even in the face of the perils they attract by ostentatious living, Nigeria's idle rich simply cannot resist the temptation to show off before the poor, while maybe tossing them a few coins, before resorting to pleading and prayer when they do inevitably fall victim to the Universal Laws of Karma, as exemplified by this press report.
Your papa money no waste for school fees at all.

I recently developed an sms powered web app for a client in greece anf he gave me api to his gateway in greeece and they support shortcodes. I am looking for a similar sms provider here in Nigeria who offers shortcode services that dont need to pass through any of the networks.
WebmastersRe: How Can I Develop An SMS Site by DualCore1: 5:46pm On Mar 23, 2012
You need a good understanding of php and mysql for the back end, html and css for the frontend, understanding of the API for your SMS gateway.

You need all of that if you are to do it yourself from scratch.

You cease to make any sense in defence of your statement regarding the blanket statement you have made here. Seeing as you have nothing to offer I see no point wasting any further time on your case. You seem lost with the concept of virtual servers. A vps is a glorified reseller. pak: I keep getting shocked the way Nlanders talk when issues of money/salary is mentioned.
The way peeps are making comments you'll think we are not in the same country where unemployment is at an all time high

I mean in reality, how many Nigerians earn as much as N1.8m per year ? (especially those outside Abuja and Lagos, and maybe PH).

The guy is like offering more than N150K per month.

How many entry level bankers even earn more than that these days talk-less of IT, where most firm pay low.

It's better to just say you don't have the skill set to qualify for the job than to make statements that seem to demean the laudable effort of this young man.

@Seun, Kudos
You fail to understand this is not a bank job. This is a web development/linux admin job. You cannot keep a full time web developer who knows what he is doing and pay him 150k Naira per month. You cannot keep a full time linux administrator who knows what he is doing and pay him 150k per month.

And NO, there are not much good web developers and linux administrators in Nigeria, most of what we have is people who run their mouths with Joomla and reseller webhosting accounts.

A freelance web developer who knows what he is doing can nail 3 jobs at 100 - 250k each per month.

The show-off by Leomax was highly unnecessary but I ignored him. Going through a person's post you know loud mouths and serious people.

This is a good opportunity for any medium-level web developer who is interested in learning Python. Python is not a very marketable language in the freelance industry so I don't go deep into it.

The salary of 150k per month is not a catch, its the experience, passion and the long term benefits.

P.S: Please don't talk lesser of Information Technology near Banking. Very different fields with very different possibilities. I won't give away my IT skills to be a bank manager. I don't a bank manager will give his job up to be a programmer. Its not about the money, its the passion. We are what we do.

On blackberry its .airaland, on android its the ₦airaland. This is an encoding problem. The character ₦ is a non-ASCII character. You are better off rendering the whole text as an image if you must retain that character.
WebmastersRe: Can Anyone Help Me Solve This by DualCore1: 4:41pm On Mar 21, 2012
There is no one straightforward way of doing this, it varies across different domain registrars. Let me do some explanation that may help:

Domain registration and Webhosting are two different things, as you already know. What ties a domain name to its hosting account is the Nameservers.

You can see Nameservers as clothing for IP addresses.

Now lets say you get a reseller hosting account from trudigits.com and during your order you chose to use suneepet.com as the primary domain for your reseller account.

If trudigits.com does not offer whitelabelled reseller plans (this is just an assumption), it will register your domain and tie it to ns1.trudigits.com and ns2.trudigits.com. Then send you a welcome email with your reseller login details and you see something like this:
Your Nameservers are
ns1.trudigits.com (192.168.0.1)
ns2.trudigits.com (192.168.0.2)

Well now you have your reseller account but you have to register your domains and tie it to ns1.trudigits.com and ns2.trudigits.com . . . not nice!

This is where you have to create your own nameservers ns1.suneepet.com and ns2.suneepet.com.

To do this you need to have full access to your domain management. Go into that panel and look for where to create nameservers.
Key in ns1.suneepet.com and give it the IP address of ns1.trudigits.com which is 192.168.0.1
Key in ns2.suneepet.com and give it the IP address of ns2.trudigits.com which is 192.168.0.2

Now you have your own name servers (ns1.suneepet.com and ns2.suneepet.com) pointing to the same IP addresses as ns1.trudigits.com and ns2.trudigits.com

What is left is for you to go on to change the nameservers of suneepet.com which are ns1.trudigits.com and ns2.trudigits.com to ns1.suneepet.com and ns2.suneepet.com. Then allow 24-48 hours for your changes to take effect. You may experience some downtimes in the process as your changes propagate across the internet.

Once this is done, create a ticket with your host to make the same DNS changes in your DNS zone settings on their server because the settings on the server still think you are on ns1.trudigits.com and ns2.trudigits.com. Also tell your host to create A Records for your new nameservers.

I hope I haven't thrown you into more confusion. Just relax and take things slow. This thing isn't critical so get the who concept first before making the change so you don't screw things up.

CORRECTION: TRUDIGITS LLC IS NOT A RESELLER OF ANY WEBHOSTING COMPANY. WE HAVE SERVER RACKS IN A DATACENTER, CONFIGURE, RUN AND MANAGE ALL OUR SERVERS AND HAVE IP BLOCKS ASSIGNED TO US BY RIPE.

If you want to know the real upstream provider of a site (the real host) you can check the site up here: http://www.whoishostingthis.com
Key in the domain name and it tells you who is hosting the site.

Now, back to what you want to achieve. Go into your domain management panel and create nameservers and tie them to the IP address your host gave you. That means you have to create ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com and point them to the same IP addresses your present nameservers are pointing to. Next, change yourdomain.com's nameserver to point to ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com.

Its best to do any DNS changes on weekends or at night.

Nollywood movies make me appreciate hollywood and its realistic car crashes, gunshots, affectionate kisses, suspense music for real suspense and slow motion effects at the right time. Plus the interesting hollywood storylines that show the composers had a clear idea of where they were heading before they even started moving.
