@duduspace
the atheists do not allow Christians to debate their own religion and distract good Christian discussions.
"He that blasphemeth the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven in this age nor in the age to come"
this is what atheists continue to do on christian threads; I claim no divinity but what I have said is Biblical and God is the Judge - I am just warning atheists of possible danger. I dont like seeing stuff like what mazaje has just posted on my thread (I could not even read it - its blashemy) but thats by the way.
Alright, I'm not an atheist but I'm no christian, neither do I subscribe to any organised faith or creed. I think Recognise has done justice to your initial call, the curses threat just seemed a bit heavy handed for me.

@Recognise

I get your drift, there is also devolution of powers in god's court, so the devil takes the office of accuser and prosecutor while god takes that of Judge and Executioner with Yeshua taking the office of the defender if you allow him.

perhaps the problem is not me talking out of point but you being confused as to exactly what it is you want to say.
Point of correction, you are not only talking out of point, you are also uttering absolute rubbish.

davidylan:
That's because you have a mind that is already dead-set against seeing the truth of the gospel.
Do YOU understand the semantics behind the gospels? Or are you simply super-imposing your own ideas on it?
The truth to be found in it I already have i.e. love of your fellow man for the general well being of the human race, maybe that is what you should be looking for rather than a magic carpet ride to sugarcandy mountain.

Deep Sight:
Turkey is a secular state
I am not disputing that fact, but isn't Nigeria a secular state in theory? has that prevented some sections of Nigeria from declaring a Sharia society? The fact remains that this occurs in predominantly islamic areas and the core reason for these people's actions is premised on their islamic faith and those verses quoted above are used as justification for their actions, do we then blame them or blame the faith that motivates their action?
Islam › Re: Abuzola, Pls Explain "the Tulay Goren Story" by duduspace(op): 2:03pm On Oct 21, 2009
@Yoji and the_seeker

Why must you always play the christian card? can't islam exist without reference to christianity? who has mentioned anything about christianity here? I have told you I have no time for the christian zealots who are not in any way better in their delusions of one unquestionable big for nothing man up there doing as he pleases, but with due credit to them there is nothing like honour killing in most christian dominated states. At present it is largely confined to islamic dominated states (who actually claim to operate under Sharia law) and you have not put forward any argument to refute that or even any credible explanation for why that seems to be the case.

@Yoji

Are you implying in any way that those countries such as Afghanistan and Turkey(which is seeking entry into the EU) which we generally know as bastions of sharia law and models of what a typical islamic society should be like are still living back in the middle ages?

@Abuzola
Have you ever considered the possibility that the reason why Jesus didn't stone the adulteress might be due to him being a bit more refined than your bloodthirsty prophet

*shakes head* may God open your eyes amin. If your information Honour killing is unlslamical,
I never said it was islamical, but I see it predominantly in islamic countries and I see statements in your "Sacred book" which encourage it or at the least encourages acts similar to it so don't blame me if I blame it all on islam or can you give me an alternative idea or concept to blame it on?

I dont understand why those who declare themselves to be doing good need to force themselves into the biblical heaven culled from the same bible they regard as irrelevant.
You are always talkin out of point, what does this have to do with me portraying the bible in a negative light?? undecided

I have no use for your biblical heaven, I however fully understand what deepsight and m_nwankwo are saying that the meanings of what Jesus or the original writers of the bible were saying might be deeper than what you take it to be after all the poor blokes words still continue to be used to sanction things I can't imagine him having a part in.

As to your quotes, there is none that directly corroborates your initial statement or which couldn't be interpreted differently which is why I asked if you actually understood the semantics behind the initial writing because all those words are written at different times in different contexts.

I have already done justice to your question so why playing round the bush. I stated it clearly that killing children in the term of honour killing is unislamical. Period!
I am doing no such things, look at the man in the mirror cos you're accusing me of your exact actions. You have not addressed the crux of the issue in anyway. You have only denied something that makes you look bad when the holy book you supposedly follow clearly encourages it.

funny how you insist on a literal translation of the bible when it comes to portraying it in a negative light.

I do not need to repeat the statement in Hebrew, there are far too many bible verses corroborating it.
Perhaps, if you consider allowing people who do good go to heaven as portraying the bible in a negative light.
can you please quote just 5 of the other verses that corroborate it ?

I'm not considering anything as something else grin I'm only telling you what your supposedly holy book says.

Even if I choose to play your game, can you tell me what the punishment is under islamic law for:
1. lewdness
2. apostasy

is there any difference or do they carry the same sentence of death? is one halal and the haram? please also give examples from within the Koran and Hadith.

Christianity Etc › Re: Banom v Deep Sight on the Existence of God by duduspace(m): 11:13pm On Oct 20, 2009
Krayola:
@ deepsight.

Let us pretend the big-bang indeed was a beginning of something. It doesn't follow that the big bang had a beginning, or that it was the beginning of everything, or that everything had a beginning, or that it was "caused". . . . . . . .
True word Krayola, the fact that "The Big Bang" is the widely accepted theory of the beginning of what we know now does not mean that what we know now did not exist in some other form previously which would tie in quite nicely with the indestructibility but transitory nature of matter. I made that statement in another post that maybe when we are able to destroy matter, then we might come to an understanding of how it is created.

That infinite regression thing is at present an impossibly tough nut to crack and unlike mathematics where we can introduce the concept of limits, it just wouldn't work for logical reasoning cos we can't just throw those infinitely small numbers away without someone asking questions as to what we did with em.

I'm beginning to hold the view that the Universe itself has aways infinitely existed, just not in the form it is now, and that what we wrongly call creation is just another transition of matter from one state to another.
It is however all conjectures until someone proves it conclusively.

@Deepsight
I have no issues with you believing in a prime mover, I would however be more comfortable with you not giving attributes of power and intelligence to the prime mover because believing in an uncreated prime mover is actually for want of a better explanation and is subject to the same fallacies we accuse other theories that argue against the existence of God of having.
Building on that fallacy is a bit too much for me to swallow, cos it is like constructing a skyscraper on a spider's web, it just wouldn't hold up and might explain the various other inconsistencies that the god concept throws up.
@duduspace, did u read your post at all? You should be ashamed of yourslf. Thanks for reminding the world how merciful our holy Prophet is.
Did you smoke anything? What mercy? where is the mercy in locking women up (I'm sure without food) until they die or burying them in the ground and then stoning them?

Or maybe a more important question is to ask what one must do worse than the 2 examples I've given above to be termed wicked?

Your prophet is wicked and you must be a very wicked person.

@Abuzola

This statement does not specifically mention adultery except yu want to start muddling up issues about the original language in which it was written like the christian zealots.
Quran- 4:15 “If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, take the evidence of four (reliable) witness from amongst you against them; if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them. Or God ordain for them some (other) way.”
And even if it did, is adultery enough reason to stone someone to death?

More importantly, yu miss the point. These are so called "Islamic" countries that supposedly operate Sharia law where these things are happening so what do yu have to say?

Negatives:
1. We didn't really play as well as we could
2. We switched off when it mattered and shouldn't have
3. We threw away a victory we shouldn't have

Positives:
1. We learnt that we can actually control a game while allowing the opposition possession
2. Good result for the team if the boys can take something away from it
