edoyad:Why him no dey play the guy consistently for premiership? anyone with half a brain knows he is one of the few creative players he has left in that team. |
And this team continues to grow in stature, interesting half so far cos we are playing at such a low tempo and for once we are containing another team, when last have I seen possesion 57% to 43% against Arsenal? |
Cesc is having one of them games where we need someone else to share the playmaking, wouldn't bet against him to turn it on later in the game though but this is a game we could have done with Rosicky Goal Cesc. |
Our play is a bit disjointed so far, we could see a match of 2 very different halves |
The team is playing with the brakes on, we definitely can up the tempo. |
debosky:Remember 2 years ago, we also had Denilson, Song, Clichy, Diaby et al as up and coming players and we can see how that is paying off at present. rather than wasting money like Liverfluke and co. How far Coquelin goes in the CC cup run will determine when he can join the first team but that guy is almost ready IMO and Song is at present our only specialist in that role. |
@Gooner Kakuta is good but I doubt if the money miss road blues will fast track his progress the way we did with Cesc and are presently doing with the likes of Wilshere, Ramsey and Merida. I personally believe the next big player to come out of our reserves will be Francis Coquelin (a more refined version of Flamini IMO), I have a feeling Arsene will not buy any more DMs and Coquelin might just get his opportunity to come into the first team when Song goes to the ANC. He presently plays that holding role in our reserves and we are yet to concede a goal when he is playing. You must have seen him in the Carling fixture against WBA, he will likely get another opportunity in a massive test against Liverfluke next week. |
@Abuzola Are you saying that entire nations such as Iran, Afghanistan and Turkey where such acts are rampant aren't practicing islam? where then did they get their injunctions from? Do you realize that this came to light only becos these people were resident in the UK? what of the untold stories of thousands who might have been killed in such cases back in their countries? What about these injunctions from your various holy/unholy books? Quran- 4:15 “If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, take the evidence of four (reliable) witness from amongst you against them; if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them. Or God ordain for them some (other) way.” Hadiths: Sahi Muslim No. 4206: “A woman came to the prophet and asked for purification by seeking punishment. He told her to go away and seek God’s forgiveness. She persisted four times and admitted she was pregnant. He told her to wait until she had given birth. Then he said that the Muslim community should wait until she had weaned her child. When the day arrived for the child to take solid food, Muhammad handed the child over to the community. And when he had given command over her and she was put in a hole up to her breast, he ordered the people to stone her. Khalid b. al-Walid came forward with a stone which he threw at her head, and when the blood spurted on her face he cursed her.” Bukhari: Volume 7, Book 63, Number 196: Narrated Abu Huraira: A man from Bani Aslam came to Allah's Apostle while he was in the mosque and called (the Prophet ) saying, "O Allah's Apostle! I have committed illegal sexual intercourse." On that the Prophet turned his face from him to the other side, whereupon the man moved to the side towards which the Prophet had turned his face, and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have committed illegal sexual intercourse." The Prophet turned his face (from him) to the other side whereupon the man moved to the side towards which the Prophet had turned his face, and repeated his statement. The Prophet turned his face (from him) to the other side again. The man moved again (and repeated his statement) for the fourth time. So when the man had given witness four times against himself, the Prophet called him and said, "Are you insane?" He replied, "No." The Prophet then said (to his companions), "Go and stone him to death." The man was a married one. Jabir bin 'Abdullah Al-Ansari said: I was one of those who stoned him. We stoned him at the Musalla ('Id praying place) in Medina. When the stones hit him with their sharp edges, he fled, but we caught him at Al-Harra and stoned him till he died.
A teenager was murdered by her father and two uncles because they believed her love would shame their family, a court was told yesterday. Tulay Goren, 15, died because she planned to wed factory boss Haili Unal, a jury heard. Both of their families came from the Kurdish area of Turkey and were Muslims. But the Gorens followed the Alevi branch of the religion and Halil, then 30, was a Sunni. Jonathan Laidlaw, QC, prosecuting, told the Old Bailey jury a relationship between them "would have been viewed as bringing dishonour to the family". Tulay vanished in January 1999 and her body has never been found. The court heard Tulay had fled her home and went to live with Halil. But she was persuaded to return and an attempt was made to lure her lover to the house, the court heard. Mr Laidlaw said: "Tulay managed to warn him of the trap and his life was saved. Advertisement - article continues below » "Tulay was never seen alive again. The prosecution's case is she was murdered at home that day. The body was hidden in the garden and removed a week or so later." He added: "This is what has become known as an honour killing. There is nothing honourable about the murder of a young woman by members of her own family." Tulay's dad Mehmet, 49, of Woodford Green, East London, his brother Cuma Goren, 42, of Walthamstow, East London, and elder brother Ali Goren, 55, also of Walthamstow and the head of the family, deny murdering Tulay and conspiring to murder Halil. Mr Laidlaw told the jury: "Tulay pursued Halil. She clearly loved him. She spoke of being unhappy at home, of hating her family. Her father was outraged." Tulay and Halil tried to wed in Hackney, East London, in December 1998 but she had lied to him about her age. They agreed to wait three months until she was 16. The accused thought women's marriages should be arranged by their families and for money, said Mr Laidlaw. He went on: "Of principal concern to men who follow the honour code would be the girl's virginity." Police who returned to the case 10 years after Tulay's disappearance, he said, "possessed of a better understanding of honour-based violence". The trial continues.
from http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/10/09/murdered-by-her-dad-for-loving-the-wrong-man-115875-21733749/ You "moderate muslims" claim terrorism is primarily political, is honour killing also political? |
@Debo No shaking, I understand your point and I do hope Abou can continue to progress. I think he is finally finding that equilibrum level of performance rather than the yo-yo performance that has marked him out in the past. Last season was Song's time of improvement and this season seems to be his, all he needs is an uninterrupted run in the side which he seems to be getting now. He is yet to prove himself against the topmost clubs even though the performance at Old Trafford was credible apart from the OG due to his fidgeting. Stats do matter though, particularly if there is a consistency to it what Diaby's stats suggest to me is an emerging powerful box to box midfielder. You need to check out the chalkboards for yourself. Eboue is another player who is putting in massive performances which explains why Arsene is playing him a lot at present, you need to see how penetrating he was against Brum. |
Definitely going to be a massacre of cataclysmic proportions. |
This match will further illustrate the continuity of liverpool's mediocrity. |
Arsene backs Mannone:
"He's a young goalkeeper," said the Arsenal manager. "You have to accept that no matter the age of a goalkeeper that can happen. "In the Premier League you are always challenged and he should have certainly fisted the ball out." However, Wenger was pleased with how the 21-year-old reacted after conceding the goal. "The good sign was in the second half it didn't affect him. He came out for crosses, he saved a good cross and that could have been an equaliser, so it didn't affect him mentally. That's very good."
I think Arsene is backing the lad because he made instant ammends in the same match, something blondie failed to do in the Man Shitty match. debosky:Abeg Debo, get off Diaby's back and stop nitpickin his performances. Should he have left the ball to start bouncing around dangerously in the box? there is much to applaud in his recent performances and long may it continue. An illustration of the energy Diaby brings to our midfield again from the Guardian chalkboards: Tackles Interceptions Blocks Clearances Cesc 5(1) 6 0 0 Diaby 11( 8 ) 4 0 4 Song 4(4) 3 0 1 the value in brackets is the number of tackles won with the number attempted as the preceeding value. It is interesting to note that he was active at both ends of the pitch having at least 2 shots on target. Some might question the strength of the opposition but it is games like this that determine where old big ears ends up come May. |
bawomolo:I was actually shocked when I saw some guy do this during the summer but him no get belle reach this guy. This guy is a wrong poster boy for that kind of behaviour. By the way, wetin happen to this thread? DeepSight don run? abi him don realise say him dey try prove the unprovable? |
It is actually the press that makes too much of what Arshavin says, I watched the interview on ATVO where he commented on the Manure match and it didn't appear to me as if he was criticizing his team mates. It wasn't even an external interview but an internal ATVO feature on Arshavin. He always used the words "We" meaning that he did not count himself as being separate from the team. If you take a look at the individual quotes attributed to him, they don't suggest any criticism of his team but motivational statements imploring the team to improve. Trust the English media to always see the worst in everything Arsenal and transmitting that on to the global press at large. How can a statement such as the following be interpreted as criticism
'' We are very friendly off the pitch but we must be stronger and trust in ourselves a little bit more. We must believe more. The confidence is coming but sometimes it seems to me we don't have enough.''
It was also in the same interview where he said he was lazy and didn't like to train and that our pre-season preparation was too tough and had worn him out, but the press wldn't comment on that now until Arshavin's performance levels drop and then yu will see an article in the papers next year with an headline screamin "Arshavin is lazy in training" and then turn around to blame Arsene for not removing him from the team. ![]() |
@edoyad No shaking, I have near absolute faith in this squad so much that I have a 1 grand bet going with my sister in law (whose husband is a manc) that we would at the least finish above manure. The boys are growing and challenging themselves (did yu see that swerving shot from Theo shortly after he came back on) because there is so much competition for places. The potential Arsene saw in these boys to back them amidst all the media negativity is finally starting to bear fruit and we will enjoy it for a long time because these boys are yet to peak and even the older ones like Rosicky and Arshavin still have 3-5 quality years left in their legs. |
@illusion2 This is not meant to be tongue in cheek but I just dey watch match of the day and if the highlights are anything to go by, it seems it was a beat down for yu people by Sunderland today, see all the one on ones sunderland lost. |
@Banom Biko, e joo this your beef with Tpia don dey become something else. I'm not sayin she doesn't deserve it but in the spirit of forgiveness as signified by this particular post, please take una wahala go somewhere else. Don't mess up Noetic's second born again experience. |
Well, I haven't been abusing any man of God cos I'm yet to see one. I've only been abusing gods of man if yu catch my drift. |
Here is what Arsene had to say about Song
"He is strong and smooth. He is not rigid, he is agile. He is a slalom player and is not a straight-line player. He uses that very well, he has a good combination of strengths and agility and I believe as well he uses his technique in a very intelligent way. He likes a tackle. Cameroon people are strong, you know? In Africa they call them the Germans of Africa because of their strong bodies."
To be honest, when I got to see Song physically during the Emirates cup, I was shocked at his size he is really a big chap. When yu compare his size to someone like Denilson, you will understand why our midfield is no longer overpowered and harrased, it is also a credit to the Arsenal system that he also has considerably good technical ability and a fine passing range. He and Diaby have the potential to become the new Vieira and Petit. |
edoyad:Pele, dem go think say yu dey pressed or something the way yu go dey restless. Dem neva ask if yu wan go toilet? |
The boys are doing good, just pray these thugs from the midland havent done any long term damage to poor Theo. |
pinky lady:Arabirin, why are yu crappin my style? any hidden agenda? and why exactly does she need to see a "man of Gullibility" in order to get married? uplawal:I meant the poster (Original Poster) and not uplawal, dnt feel left out cos I've got so much luvin to give. ![]() |
I'm sure even the pope would be interested in such a place, I am also interested but what exactly are the requirements to get there again? doesn't one of them have to do with killing other people for allah? |
@Oladeegbu In what way does that justify the lies that some people drilled right through the gates of hell? believing in that obviously bogus tale will only make rational people question your intelligence. Are yu sure you read the contents of that link at all? |
If he existed at all, he couldn't have been of negroid or mongloid stock as the modern day jews are not, I would go for caucasoid which is similar to what most people have on their walls. In any case, it is irrelevant his message is more important than any specifics relating to his person methinks. |
Deep Sight:OUCH |
Krayola:Eleyi tun yato o, Krayola, wetin happen? any specific reason why? do yu have an unhealthy fear of blood or what? |
skfa1:Yes o, well oiled, excellent spark plugs and firing on all cylinders. So I can pull up to that bumper and floor the throttle. |
This is an impressive gesture and greatly appreciated Noetic, no matter our differing viewpoints we are all seeking for answers to the complexities of our existence. |
@Mukina2 Thank you so much for bailing this once great club out. It is a noble thing for yu to help them out until they are back on their feet again. |
