Don't be surprised if you see him play. We did the same with Cesc at Nou Camp wink
Was just about to say this, the initial call by Arsene was obviously hasty based on what he had seen, the tests might have shown otherwise. Would be great if he is back in 2 - 3 weeks, the 2 weeks international break could be very timely.
Let them just go and beat West Brom by a 4 goal margin first so that we even go top of the table for sometime.  grin grin

These miraculous recoveries are however getting amusing and ridiculous how could Nani have been ruled out for a month only to be certified fit in less than 2 weeks? dem don dey use Juju for PL abi Madame Kova don start black market treatment?  undecided

@Duduspace You can't win with this folks, when peeps make their mind up about an issue they throw every objectivity to the wind, well done for always calling them out. Its a tough time to be an Arsenal fan. Depending on how they respond on Saturday, the season is not over yet.
Cougar loses his objectivity when its a discussion about Arsenal,  The season is far from over but even the most convinced Gooner would have been shaken by the events of these past 2 weeks. The league at least is still largely in our hands. If the lads fail, they only have themselves to blame.

This is where most of us Arsenal fans disagree, most think its Arsene just being stubborn while some like me believe there is some financial limitation involved (at least in the past). However, that excuse is now past which is why I would be disappointed if we don't win anything this season. So many people have been waiting for that part in bold to happen for the past 6 years but it hasn't. Guardiola worked with the Barcelona B team and knew those lads inside out, it was almost more like he was specifically groomed for that role and Barcelona is not on a project like Arsenal is at present.
This youth project needs to be given every time it requires to be succesful, I cannot guarantee any other coach is capable of seeing that through. Arsene has started it and needs to complete it.

@A-40

The problem is, I don't see a better available coach who can do what he has done or is doing talk less of being better. On the continent, maybe LVG and Hiddink. An Arsenal manager must command respect, have a good pedigree and of course has to deal with the board (whether you accept they are right or wrong, old and out of touch, exponents of sustainability or not, that aspect of Arsenal aint gonna change except life throws one of those curves out of the blues and one of Kroenke or Usmanov chooses to sell out to the other).

In England, I don't see anyone meeting those requirements bar Moyes (and I'm not sure he has the clout Arsene has though being an home boy might help him a bit). On the continent I don't see any who would fit in well and yes that includes "The pompous one", there is no Abramovic's millions rolling here and Barca did show him at the camp Nou some month's back. Yes, if Arsene drops dead tomorrow we'll just have to find someone but as far as I'm concerned while he lives I can't think of anyone else who'll be more suited for that post.

Shey person no hack Duduspace account? He even wants Diaby out of Arsenal?[/quote]Clarification, I will never want Arsene out. (Well maybe if things remain the same next season) but I don't think they will. Arsene still has done extremely well given his resources and this team has improved on from last season. He has also set this club on the right path to sustainable success. I really hope Arsene doesn't end up like Moses, he has done so much with so little compared to his peers, to me it would be a travesty if he doesn't witness that success. I think he has earned it.

As to Diaby, I don't necessarily want him out but I would be lying if I said he contributed much this season. I still don't doubt his talent but like RVP in the past, of what use is talent that is mostly found on the bench due to injury? we are all hungry for success and injury prone players who then need some time to get going only throw a spanner in the works.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (A New Strength, A New Hope). by duduspace(op): 11:11pm On Mar 13, 2011
Decided to write my conclusions on the season right now so my view doesn't get distorted with the absence or presence of silverware at the end of the season. This is the first season since the 05/06 season that I will be greatly disappointed in Arsenal not winning a trophy, the other times I've been able to rationalise and find reasons why but if we end up trophyless this season there will be no excuse, at the beginning of the season I believed we had a squad strong enough to win silverware and I still stand by that assertion.

Saturday's loss to Manure was painful and without excuse, the ref was brilliant but with all respect to manure under no circumstances should we be losing to that team they had out yesterday. Even after making some allowance for the home advantage, we should have at least gotten a draw and dragged them back to the Emirates.

If we do end up trophyless though, I will not call for Arsene's head  because in the grand scheme of things, I think he has done really well for the club in the transition period the club had to go through with the move to the emirates. Going forwards these are the areas where I think we need to work on next season 'whether we win silverware or not'.

1. Pace in the final third
2. Getting rid of the dead wood
3. Better use of our academy products

1. We need at least one more Theo type player in the final third who can go direct take people on and beat them for pace, care must be taken though that they are not like Arshavin and would fall back to cover their full backs, I was one of those on Theo's back last season but it is very clear now what he adds to us and even when I faulted Theo's technical ability, I never questioned his work ethic. Lack of such players result in our purposeless holding on to the ball without doing anything with it as was evident yesterday.

2. It is now clear that some players have to go, my list of those players who have  failed consistently in their supporting cast duties include primarily Denilson and Rosicky, to a lesser extent Arshavin, Diaby and B52 have either not shown up at crunch time or been injury distrupted. Denny in particular has no place in this club any longer in my opinion, I will repeat that anytime he comes into the side, we immediately become susceptible to conceeding on counter attacks.
If 3 out of the 5 I've listed are shown the exit door, I'll be very glad but at the barest minimum 2 of them must go.

3. Most people would question this assertion but sadly it is true, it would become more apparent when you consider the fact that the only reason Wilshere did not go out on loan at the beginning of the season was cos Cesc got injured, Dr. Kit has severally called for JET to play and I know for a fact that some of the players we have out on loan are either better than some of these guys who play every week or bring something different from what we have already in the squad for example Lansbury might not be as technically gifted as Denny but has a great engine and you can be sure would leave it all on the pitch unlike Denny.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (A New Strength, A New Hope). by duduspace(op): 9:10pm On Mar 12, 2011
@Debo

I'll watch the goals again but my grudge with Denny is that since he dropped out of the team, we stopped conceeding these break away counter attack goals, now that he is back Manure did exactly what they did to us last season, letting us have the ball and keeping it tight at the back only to hit us on the break.

We pay the price for not being efficient up front again.

Only thing I saw from the first goal was that JD wld have probably done better sticking tight to Hernandez, he couldn't have gotten that header otherwise. Wouldn't blame Kos much cos on a rebounding ball the attacking players always have a slight advantage cos the defender is just turning to face his goal and might need time getting his bearings or even atimes end up conceeding an own goal.

Can't remember who was arguing the fact that Arshavin doesn't protect his full back, its instructive to note that the 2 goals we conceeded came through Gibbs who was playing behind Arshavin again and both times Arshavin was nowhere to be found.

Squillaci and Kos shld be okay provided we dont face many long ball teams, only problem is we are only one injury away from Song becoming a CB and having to depend on Denny and co in MF again.

No excuses today, congratulations Manure
we should have been able to beat the team Manure put out, just imagine 6 or 7 defensive players playing against you and beating you 2 - 0.
VDS as man of the match is not enough reason to lose this.
I'm not sure even winning the PL can make up for this, though cup matches are always meeh, if there ever was an opportunity to beat Manure, it was today.

Having all the ball but lacking incisiveness to score has just got to stop when Barca had all the ball and beat us 3 - 1  undecided
Players I want out at the end of the season in the order of preference:

1. Denilson - gets worse with each passing game, a 19 year old has overtaken you
2. Rosicky - great player in his prime but now past it
3. Arshavin - lazy git, all the creativity and ability in the world don't mean a thing if yu're lazy and can't go the extra mile to win.

Players I want dropping to the bench until they man up and just learn to take a stand and hate losing

1. Diaby

It is no wonder Cesc will have to play with a dodgy hammy and Song with a dodgy knee when yu can't depend on these guys.

Still hope they can do something in the PL sha, some players deserve to end this season with something.
Jack Wilshere can always leave the pitch with his head high.

DK, I don tell yu to go sleeep off yur alcohol induced rants, can someone get this chap some valium please or Largactil if valium is not strong enough.  undecided

dayokanu:
jack Wilshere has Started 22 games in the EPL for Arsenal and 18 EPL games for bolton total 40 games

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/122089/jack-wilshere?cc=5901

In 2007 Almunia already started 10 games

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/14582/manuel-almunia?cc=5901

while Sczeny has only started 8 EPL games

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/131634/wojciech-szcz%C4%99sny?cc=5901

So this points to it that WenGAY experimented vs barcelona.
Does it make sense now Your royal foolishness  grin grin grin

Next excuse since your last one has been blown out of water
Wilshere and Szezesny are exceptional talent (internationals for their countries England and Poland as teenagers) while none of the other 2 yu mention has a cap for England and spain respectively up till now even in the latter stages of their career. Even then, some could choose to term Wilshere and Szczesny's appearance as experimentation in some way cos they have no experience playing at that level before compared to Xavi and Iniesta and the other players they played against. In reality yu've actually buttressed his point but I'm sure you and your fellow spaghetti brains can't see it.
You could actually extend the same excuse for the other losses in finals to the Barcelona loss but we choose not to cos we believe our team is on the right path and we demand nothing less than trophies from them, if they do fall short however we are not blind and understand why they did.
