Yu know my vested interests naa ![]() always monitor the financials like a hawk ![]() we'll still be fine financially for sure. |
Krayola:What business of yours is it? turn on Wenger becos we lost 4- 3 to a team rated as the best on the planet with a dodgy ref call. Are you on drugs? Why hasn't Mourinho been sacked after losing 5-0 to them with a team of proven stars with over 250m investment in players? ![]() |
debosky:There are also payments for every stage yu get to, if you add all that with the gate takings already in the 3m range, yu wld have gotten something in that range, but the payments have actually increased with the new deal this year so compared to what we made last year we won't miss much, but compared to what we would have made if we progressed further this year, I'm sure sure there is a sizable shortfall. Nothing we can't live with though. |
debosky:Also some payments from UEFA for making the quarters and playing those 2 matches actually, we might have lost between 6m - 8m in revenue compared to last year if the UCL payments for this year haven't gone up generally, as it is we might still lose something in the range 2m - 4m in UCL participation compared to last year but this might be offset by a longer CC and FA cup run with a hopefully better final league placement and dare I say championship winning bonus. |
Now this is gettin ridiculous, una don dey cross boundaries abeg. Its best to ignore this lot. Saturday soon cometh and an FA cup quarters to look forward to. |
@DK Enjoy wella, if it helps you cope with Mumunich's pathetic season I'll gladly oblige you. this team is winning a trophy this season mark my words. |
DAMN, I've gotta ask myself have I wasted my life? I should be an effin great granddad. WTF. ![]() |
@Krayola debosky:This clearly sums up my feelings about it, to be honest I would have been happy if we somehow went through but I would have known at the back of my mind that Barca shld probably have gone through (in exactly the same way I felt they deserved to beat Inter last year). And while yu might be right some decisions went against Barca, but then even yu can't deny that there are marginal line decisions where an Assistant ref or ref gets a wrong call and then there is sheer stupidity on the part of an official like what happened with RVP. Barcelona are a brilliant team that don't need such calls, and no matter their grand standing they all know football was not best served with such a decision. And while yu're on the Arsenal are bad loser's theme, remember the issue that happened at Porto where the ref handed over the ball to Porto to score against us and how the boys recovered to beat Porto 5 - 0 or the shocking Saha goal decision just a few weeks back that the boys also strongly bounced back from but going a man down to Barcelona is any team's worst nightmare when even with 11 players yu couldn't get the ball. |
@Krayola Joke or not, any one with a discerning eye would know that was what we set out to do, the object was to hang in there until Barca's pressing took its toll and then we could hit them in the latter stages. Classic rope-a-dope as someone called it. There were 2 major events that spoilt any chance we had, Cesc's silly move and the Ref's decision. |
What concerns me with shots on target or off target when we had a goal? the way some people are talking, its almost sounding as if Busquets deliberately threw the ball into the net just to give us a goal. ![]() |
DAMN, not this damned inquisition again abeg. 1: Ref or no ref, on the balance of play Barca deserved to progress 2: Sending off RVP was a silly decision, Barcelona did not need that help 3. Our boys did well against Barcelona, we were up against a better team, our approach didn't work out at the end of the day due to circumstances both within and without our control. 4. There is no need for inquisitions on players at this time when our captain fantastic messed up and please don't in an emotional state start believing Cesc is not commited, its a sign of feeble mindedness, he played the game with strapping on his hams FFS, that is the only sign of commitment I need to see. Best thing is to look at this from a glass half full perspective and move on, we are still in 2 competitions, and have lost to a team that has every chance of winning this competition, to those of heavy hearts all I can say is, next year soon cometh, time heals all wounds, emotional and otherwise. Personally, I was more disappointed we lost the Carling cup final to Birmingham, beating Barca wld have been glorious but it wouldnt have brought anything. To the haters, yu can all suck on my middle finger, at the end of the day, only one club will win this competition, to that club I say congratulations. |
FBS:Such is the quality of the boy that he was our best MF on the pitch today, only player to convincingly win balls in MF. Cesc was shockingly poor on the day, can't even remember anything he did and Diaby and Rosicky were nigh dire, couldn't go forward and couldn't harry the Barca players. Our plan was simple, keep in the game until Barca's pressing takes its toll on their players, but then firstly Capt Fantastic had his moment of madness and then the ref had his. On the balance of play, Barca were the better team and it would probably have been unjust for us to beat them but then how many of such games have we lost when we outplayed other teams? |
Our boys can hold their head high jare, firstly I've always maintained that losing to this Barca team is no shame, secondly the manner of the loss is galling, 1 sec between the ref blowing and RVP playing the shot such a shocking decision. Lets put this behind us and just focus on the League and the FA cup, we must win something this season. |
all the players 10 Refree -infinity Congratulations Barcelona, the better team won on the day. |
But this Wilshere boy is not only brilliant but a warrior, I'll wait to clap off my boys jare. |
Football is a funny game, it is not over until its over, it was always a tough ask facing Barca. I doubt they even needed RVP's sending off to beat us in all fairness but then the underdog sometimes has its day. We cld have another corner and another own goal. |
Cesc didn't play anything today actually. terribly below par. |
This referee is a mad man, why spoil this game like this? ![]() |
@DK Prepare yurself for massive disappointment. |
Mr. eyoniggar, I'd have you know Arsenal fans don't do fear. Your pile afflicted coach has started talking rubbish like 'The fraudulent one' abi? I hope yu know that evil association corrupts good manners.Whatever happens in this match, all I know is that it won't be a repeat of last season's in terms of goals conceeded, this team has grown beyond that. Good news for the FA Cup tie, Nani is out of the tie and though I don't like how that came to be I'll still gladly have Nani not playing against us than playing. |
The next 2 games are really critical for our season, win the 2 and we're still alive in 3 competitions, lose both and the media will descend on us like flies on pig's droppings. Oh lawd, I dey look ya eye o. Forgive my recent transgressions and flirtations. |
@Proudly I was just about notifying Debo, he was right and that RVP has been confirmed to be in the squad for tomorrow that was pretty quick healing then. |
debosky:Maybe he has learnt from Nasri how to heal quickly. ![]() he might be back in light training but might still be a bit off full fitness, or maybe we just don't want him going for those darned internationals again. |
The fact that Alex Song hasn't played since the loss to Birmingham makes me suspicious that he played all or most of the Birmingham game injured. He was one of the players far from their best on the day, I initially thot he was overcome by the occasion but I'm beginning to think there could be an alternative explanation. |
ritchboy:This should be about it, but I'll swim against the tide yet again and would personally start Chamakh ahead of Bendtner as the lone striker despite his better form for 2 main reasons. 1. I believe he is more adept at playing that lone striker role 2. He has a good track record in this competition The rest as usual pick themselves and I hope Diaby shows his new found concentration levels is no fluke. ![]() |
ritchboy:got a link from rojadirecta to watch him on sunday against Hereenven, he had a bit of a quiet game but still looked dangerous, He is looking like Arshavin's replacement in the long term. The boy's control at high speed is impressive. He needs to get caps for Japan before we can bring him down in the summer but with the way he is going, he will definitely get some. |
nateevs:Stop making unnecessary noise jare, its not all about reputation my man. Everyone knows Torres is good but Liverpool got the better deal here, lettin Torres go for 50m and buying Suarez and Carroll. I advocated it on their forum at the time and illusion2 disagreed but I'm sure he is happy at the way things have turned out. What has happened between Chelsea and 'pool reminds me of the ill advised Samuel Etoo + 44m for Ibrahimovic deal between Inter and Barcelona. |
Liverpool should thank Chelsea for taking Torres off their hands, Suarez is looking like an able replacement and with Carroll surely they got the better deal. Kuyt got the hat trick but Suarez surely made it all happen today. |
Is Bebe on the subs bench? ![]() |
Kuyt hat trick, thank yu o liverfluke, una dey even help us with GD. ![]() |
