TheSuperNerd: Op, all this as news and no list abi?
Anyway, here is the list:
Goalkeepers: John Ikedinachukwu Amah, Joseph John Essien, Joseph Ayomide Oluwabusola
Defenders: David Akulo Ishaya, Sunday Cletus Odey, Clement Chigozie Ikenna, Sani Abacha Suleiman, Muhammad Ibrahim, Adam Agba’a Mustapha
Midfielders: Samson Okikiola Tijani, Hassan Hussaini, Saviour Johnson Isaac, Olatomi Alfred Olaniyan, Peter Agba, Babatunde Jimoh Akinsola, Ibraheem Olalekan Jabaar, Akinwunmi Ayobami Amoo
Forwards: Oluwatimilehin Lawrence Adeniyi, Olakunle Olusegun Junior, Favour Akem.
Below is a picture of one of the lads, Favour Akem with Ex-U17 star, Victor Osimhen in 2015. I guess it is a show of maturity that the above listed team has not been dubbed Islamic Republics of Arewa and Oduduwa. If a certain ethnicity has represented the large portion of the players on the team, some goons from certain parts of the country would have labeled it Biafran team. |

Myjanuzaj: During the 2011 elections, when General Muhammadu Buhari contested forbthe presidency of Nigeria. Most Southerners and mostly Christians were very vociferous against his ambition. Most Sighted the fact that he is an Islamic Fundamentalist and an ethnic bigot, People like me honestly did not understand what they meant by that, infact When I critically analysed Buhari as a person, i did not see anywhere he said he is going to stop Christianity when elected as President and during the time he was Military Head of State, he never made any attempt to islamise the country. Its quite understanding that people from the south south will want their regional man Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to win Buhari so will be at the forefront of the campaign and would want ro run down the person of Buhari who at that time was his main competitor. But I was surprised that Southeasterners (igbos) were even more vocal than the region where GEJ hail from in the campaign against Buhari. JONATHAN won. Fast forward in 2015, the ethnic and religious Mudslinging reached a crescendo when Buhari having joined forces with Asiwaju Tinubu, became a more formidable force. This time around the reverse became the case, BUHARI WON. This generated a lot of bad blood between the camps of PMB and GEJ.
Since then even after Buhari took power, the igbos have remained very stubborn and adamant critics of the current president, even when the region by which Goodluck Jonathan their adopted son hailed from have even forgotten what transpired in the last elections. The igbos have maintained that Buhari have greatly wronged Igbos and that there is nothing that he will do for them that will make them forgive him.
So much humble question is .
WHAT EXACTLY DID MUHAMMADU BUHARI DO WRONG TO IGBOS. Please no insults please. Humble opinions please With your mindset, if given a century of time you will not understand the explanation. So quit asking this irresponsible question. |

Bigdeeee: All the main political parties already KNOW if it it fields an Igbo presidential candidate, they have already LOST the elections even before the elections start. An absolute DOA case. Even PDP, that has basically been reduced to a an Igbo party, cannot and will not field an Igbo presidential candidate. Even PDP wants anybody but igbos . Even the SouthSouth that the Igbos love to claim [FAKE] familiarity and brotherhood with, they can never vote for igbos. Majority will vote for either SouthWest or North, except only maybe the indomie generation who don’t know history. Because historically, during the Regional governments era, the Igbos oppressed all their SouthSouth neighbors with reckless impunity. That’s why SouthSouth elders always distance themselves from the igbos Biafra actualization nonsense and always insist they are NOT a part of Biafra. Because they know if you give the igbos political power, they would oppress everyone else that’s not igbo in their midst. Heck, they even oppress themselves, and sell their own children and use their own people for baby factory. Buhari (including the Senate) should just give igbos Biafra in 2023, so they can rule themselves and we can all drive them out of our region. We don’t want criminal parasites in our midst again. Brunosamel: The US says there is a massive perpetration of corruption at all levels of the Nigerian government. It also indicted the EFCC for failing to follow due process while prosecuting corruption charges. The country further listed various human rights issues which have occurred in Nigeria The United States says the failure of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to implement laws against corruption has led to the perpetration of such practices. The country made the remarks in its 2017 Human Rights Report, The Cable reports
NAIJ.com gathers that the US said numerous cases of corruption were evident across all levels of government. It added that “impunity remained widespread at all levels of government,” even though the government had taken steps to investigate alleged human abuses. It said: “Although the law provides criminal penalties for conviction of official corruption, the government did not implement the law effectively, and officials frequently engaged in corrupt practices with impunity. “Massive, widespread, and pervasive corruption affected all levels of government and the security services. The constitution provides immunity from civil and criminal prosecution for the president, vice president, governors, and deputy governors while in office.”
The report also indicted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for failing to follow due process while prosecuting corruption charges. It pointed out that despite court orders demanding his release, a former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has been in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since 2015. Among the most significant human rights issues which have occurred, it listed the following: “Extrajudicial and arbitrary killings; disappearances and arbitrary detentions; torture, particularly in detention facilities, including sexual exploitation and abuse; use of children by some security elements; looting and destruction of property; civilian detentions in military facilities, often based on flimsy evidence.”
Also included are: “Denial of fair public trial; executive influence on the judiciary; infringement on citizens’ privacy rights; restrictions on freedoms of speech, press, assembly, and movement; official corruption; lack of accountability in cases involving violence against women and children; trafficking in persons; and early and forced marriages.” Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that during a bilateral meeting, President Donald Trump of the USA commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the success recorded in the fight against corruption. He also said the US was ready to support Nigeria in the war against insurgency; noting that the country had sold 12 Tucano fighter jets to Nigeria. Politics › Re: Adeosun’s alleged certificate forgery not a corruption matter – Presidency by Duru1(m): 9:56pm On Aug 28, 2018 |
naijapips04: The Nigerian presidency on Tuesday said that the case of the alleged certificate forgery of the Honourable Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun was not a corruption matter.
Mrs Adeosun was alleged to have forged a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate after an investigation by an online newspaper, Premium Times.
Professor Itse Sagay, chairman of Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) had said the minister should not be sacked because ‘she’s damn good’. He further claimed it is irrelevant if she didn’t do the mandatory youth service.
Femi Adesina, a presidential spokesman on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily, stated that the case was not a corruption matter. He further noted that Professor Irtse Sagay’s comments were his personal opinion and not the stance of the President.
‘It was a personal comment, that is not the position of the Government and Professor Sagay has a right to his opinion.
“It will not be down the aisle of Professor Sagay to advise on that matter because it is not a corruption matter so to speak.”
Section 13 of the NYSC law prescribes punishment for anyone who absconds from the scheme or forges its certificates, while eligible Nigerians who skipped the service are liable to be sentenced to 12 months imprisonment and/or N2, 000 fine.
Section 13 (3) of the law also prescribes three-year jail term or option of N5, 000 fine for anyone who contravenes the provision of the law as is alleged Mrs Adeosun has done.
Subsection 4 of the same section also criminalises giving false information or illegally obtaining the agency’s certificate. It provides for up to a three-year jail term for such offenders.
Sources have claimed that the Presidency could be considering granting the minister clemency for the forgery case ‘in view of the great works she has done for government — bailing out the country from recession and stabilizing the economy.’
However legal practitioners have countered that, saying only after a conviction can anyone be granted a pardon.
