If you are a Muslim, I believe it is time to search your soul and ask yourself whether you are sincerely satisfied with your relationship with God and your fellow man.
If you stand for peace then you can make a difference by speaking out against violence.
Against hatred towards non Muslims otherwise called infidels.
Against suicide
Speak about the sanctity of human life
Speak about tolerance.
If you cannot do these, then it is time for you to renounce Islam. |

Even the Nigerian government is too ashamed and embarrassed to defend the military or even come up with the irrelevant argument you keep bringing up.
There is absolutely no excuse for extra judicial killing. The military defended themselves from a restive mob that attacked them. That is no extra judicial killing anywhere in the world. |

aresa: 1. This is a 40 year old tradition that's been 100% peaceful.
2. Security situation in Nigeria doesn't mean you lose your fundamental rights guaranteed under the Nigerian constitution or it means you are subject to extra judicial killing by undisciplined, callous and unprofessional military men.
3. In case of real security concern, they should have banned any form of gathering, demonstration and procession or declared a state of emergency, this is what responsible government and security forces do, not gun down innocent people committing zero crime.
4. Peaceful procession escalates to mayhem only because of the unprofessional, badly trained, murdering and undisciplined Nigerian military gets in the mix..
And unlike your chicken military, the folks in this sect are not scared of BH, they are vocal critics of BH. Are you then saying that the emir of of Kano, a spiritual leader even more highly placed and respected was unwise to voluntarily cancel the Durbar and other sallah celebrations, that even predate your protests? If bombs going off in Kaduna is not a real security concern, then I don't know what is? |

aresa: We are talking about a yearly peaceful procession so you mean they stage this every year to incite and if so, how many people died last year and years before from their so called yearly peaceful procession?
You people need to educate yourself about the issues before commenting because you come off very ignorant..
Peaceful procession in Nigeria is not a criminal activity at least so far according to the Nigerian constitution. These thoughtless and irresponsible actions and activities by the Nigerian military creates more problems. This is how people rise up against injustice just like BH emanated viciously after the extra judicial killing of their leader.
Killing Nigerians indiscriminately and callously all over the place means you are not any different from BH.. Yes it is a yearly protest according to you. However, with the spate of bombings and the security situation in the region and in that city, would it not have been wise to postpone or entirely cancel such protests? Knowing well that any such gathering has a very likely potential of escalating into mayhem giving prevailing sentiments. It is on that same premise that the sallah celebrations also a prefixed event was cancelled, by the emir of Kano. If he had insisted and gone ahead with it, what do you think will be the outcome? |

Onyocha: your above is pure speculation and assumption. if they are victims of unfortunate circumstances, among the 35 killed were women and children. can you tell us how many among the dead were "gunmen"? how many guns were the soldiers able to seize? why on Saturday, after the Friday massacre, did soldiers continue their happy-trigger killings? why did they on Saturday go on to shoot at the mosque of Zakzaky and kill another three of his followers? and in all these and your attempt to vindicate the soldiers and trying your hard based on assumptions, and of course prejudice because the victims are northerners and Muslims, how many of the soldiers (who you want to sell to us as the victims) were injured or killed?
the questions that still pose themselves and can clear up all the arguments are: if the head of the military battalion in Kaduna wasn't aware of the presence of these soldiers, who sent them?; what was their motives?; where did they come from? for what?; under whose instruction? What happened in Zaria was a violent riot, not a peaceful protest. Why only in Zaria? Was that the only place the protests held? You are also basing your accusations on assumption and speculations. Like I said I despise the loss of human lives, but trying to whip up sentiments by your unfounded accusations may even lead to the loss of more lives. |

anonimi: Osun Free Rail Services Beneficiaries Commend Aregbesola
https://sunnewsonline.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/osogbo-train.jpg
Beneficiaries of the free rail transport services provided by the Osun State Government for indigenes of the state have commended Governor Rauf Aregbesola, describing the service as first of its kinds.
The beneficiaries hailed Aregbesola for what they called”the laudable initiative of his administration to make transportation convenient for travelers.”
The beneficiaries, who arrived Osogbo, the state capital from Lagos State on Thursday night through the free rail transport service, said the system made transportation comfortable for them and reduced economic burden.
Mr. Sola Alabi, who left Lagos State for Osogbo alongside his wife and two kids, said; “the journey was highly comfortable for me and every member of my family. I would have spent over N7,000 to get my family transported to Osogbo, if not for the kind gesture of Ogbeni Aregbesola.
We were treated like kings and queens in the train and we really enjoyed the trip.”

Aregbesola Eulogised Over the Renovation of the Osogbo Railway Terminus
The governor of the State of Osun Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been described as prudent, talented, having vision and a God given gift to the state.
The special adviser to the governor on works and transport Engineer Oladepo Amudah stated this in his office while fielding questions from journalists on the rehabilitation and face lifting of the Railway Station, Osogbo.
According to him, government is using its meager resources to develop the station in order to enhance the social and economic status of the state and meeting the standard of Nigeria Railway Corporation.
Engineer Amudah said government has spent four hundred and twelve million naira on phase one, while the next stage will involve the recreation centre, clearing and separation from terminus to Olaiya which will cost six hundred million naira.
He maintained that at the end of the projects the state government will be spending over one billion naira to renovate the railway station.

I respect the sanctity of human life and it is a pity that they lost their lives. However, they were in a company of a group of people who became unruly and provoked the military. This can happen even in if their intention was to be peaceful. They were victims of prevailing circumstances. The most brutal of terrorists are very intelligent and hardcore professionals in their respective fields. And please before you misquote me again, I did not say they were terrorists. |
Politics › Re: Killing Of My 3 Sons Planned By GEJ—Nigeria’s Shiite Leader, Sheikh El-ZakZaky by eaglechild: 11:53am On Jul 27, 2014 |
Onyocha: it is like you don't read. or some people just enjoy spreading mischief, like the clown who earlier accused Zakzaky of kidnapping soldiers.
anyways, this procession was peaceful and no one shot at the soldiers. it has already concluded when the shots were fired by the soldiers. in the procession, there were women, children and elderly people. to what end would these protesters shoot at soldiers?
even if we are to go a step further, let us for argument sake say that "SOMEONE" (in capital letters) shot at the soldiers. does that warrant the soldiers going happy-trigger at defenseless civilians and shoot anyone at sight? what if that SOMEONE (again in capital letters) was a saboteur whose sole aim was to get things bloody by provoking an attack and triggering a response from the soldiers?
these are all arguments made for the sake of arguing, and comments made by people who don't think before they comment, and who do not have any sense of humanity to feel for the oppressed or victims of an injustice.
the point of the matter that can settle all these arguments is where did the soldiers originate from? from the details already posted it is said that they are not from Kaduna. the head of the battalion in Kaduna had no idea of their presence or whereabouts and neither of their movement. the governor too, who is the ruler of the state, wasn't aware. so where did the soldiers come from? what was their motives? and where were they heading to? do soldiers take to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway to shoot at Christian worshipers when Redeem Christian Church is holding its crusades that block traffic on the expressway for hours? in other words how did these soldiers find their way in the midst of protesters? these are questions that beg for answers. aside, this should be taken seriously because it is a dangerous precedence of injustice and lawlessness that if not treated quickly poses danger to life and security. would one feel safe if the perpetrators are not brought to justice? Really? When a mob opens fire on soldiers you expect them to stand by and watch. |
