A state that has all it takes to be self sufficient.

Super fertile soil with abundance of arable land.
Yet languishing in poverty.

Very sad.

Chai.

Look how he was saved from the trenches.

Instead of being sober and giving Nigeria good governance.

He plunged us into deeper problems with his extremely corrupt and vindictive breed of politics.

NightHawke:
MTN is this regard just wants to protect their interest. I do not support destroying their facilities but adoption of other means of protest. Beyond the attacks in SA MTN has since stopped been my preferred network.
Unexplainable airtime deductions.
Charges for promos
Ring back tunes i never subscribed to
Charges for internet services not subscribed to(This one they were robbing me of N100 daily until there was these sudden N1000 naira deduction then and had to go their office. I waited in their office until the reversal was made)

I think the following forms of protest may suffice for now:

1. We the people can chose not to recharge our MTN lines for a Week
2. Refrain from buying MTN branded products and more

Their are alternatives to MTN services as against DSTV but as soon as more satellite companies enter the business the force of supply and demand with quality programing will be key.

Time will surely tell.
Very civil unlike so many posters before you calling for violence.

All of you here casting mtn are all bunch of hypocrites. Keep deceiving urslf. If you or ur brother, wife,or any member of either ur nuclear or extended family works with mtn nigeria, will u come out and pray for them to lose their jobs? If this 6000 nigerians ( dnt forget dey are nigerians not south africans) will it stop the xenophobia attacks? Some one was talking about mtn warning their government this just shows how uninformed u are. Who says the sa government is in support of this, and who says that mtn has not bn kicking against it. (#SayNoToXenophobia). the mtn u guys are even attacking is practically a nigerian company. Forget the origin. A nigerian CEO, just 12 expatriate which I think makes up just 1% of the companies workforce with 99% nigerians. Be reasonable, this is no threat from mtn, the man is just saying the possible outcome should nigerians pour out their rage on its company. We should seek solution and stop using our hand to dig our own grave.
Thanks.

A very objective assessment.

This ain't good enough. You keep preaching love, they keep killing your people and you continue to preach love, soon enough there'll be no more love to preach. Desperate measures require desperate solutions. Spare the lives but destroy the properties.
Xenophobia is evil.

But fanning the embers of hate is worse.

No Nigerian has lost his life in this attack. Some have lost their livelihoods but we are not any better if we retaliate.

Tens of South Africans lost their lives in the building collapse in Lagos, some relatives spent months to have their family members identified, some never got to bury their dead.

Yet the case has somehow been overlooked. This of course does not justify xenophobia.
What we should do is a diplomatic approach not to descend low like them.

So we should bow and tremble while people are getting roasted.. Can't you see the mumu spokesperson didn't even criticise the actions of those south Africans
He did criticize their actions.

He was only trying to make a case for his company but I guess it struck the wrong chord in some people.

If you view it without bias he said nothing wrong.

did you say far away South Africa? We have 800000 Nigerians in SA who are under threat. Who‘s business are been attcked & their lives in danger & you tlking about FAR AWAY. It is because you neither have a friend nor a relation in SA thats why you wrote that.

Come to think of it: what is 6000 compared to 800000? Even the 500000 he mentioned is still not upto 800000.

I think it is time Nigerian government start to nationalize all SA business in Nigeria.

Wale Goodluck is talking as if this is not where MTN makes most of her profits. It is the Nigerian market that empowers & finances other countries for MTN.
They should not threaten us with job lose. It is life before jobs. If we lose jobs they lose facilities. Other companies will buy the facilities & still employ Nigerians. So he should forget that story.
If you escalate tensions.

Nigerians in SA stand to suffer even more so what is your point.

He who has ears. Irate Nigerians that are calling for the closure of MTN should understand the consequences. MTN is a law abiding company doing in business in Nigeria, the events occurring in their originating country shouldn't be used as an excuse to promote further divisions between the countries. They're a major stakeholder in the Nigerian economy and we should give them the respect they deserve. We should boycott Shell and other IOCs that degrade our environments with their business operations. Besides, its hypocrisy that a country like ours with a rich history of human rights abuses would seek revenge over acts human rights abuses in another country.
You have said the unpopular truth.

Some diplomatic arm wringing first.

Before economic sanctions.

Clueless APC kitchen economics.

No wonder they are unable to pay salaries in their states.

Instead of focusing on key sectors that will generate revenue they are here trying to defend the most bogus welfare scheme ever.

HealthRe: Residents Flee As Death From Strange Disease In Ondo Rises by eaglechild: 10:21pm On Apr 17, 2015
Could be some sort of chemical poisoning of the water supply.

The very short interval (hours) between onset of symptoms and death makes it less likely to be infective.
But more investigation is needed.

AgentOfAllah:
To demonstrate how your bigotry compels you to draw specious conclusions from evidence built on circumstantialities, we could ask this question in a different way:

What would be your conclusion if, after several years, Boko-Haram is routed with remarkable success only 1 week before the initial scheduled date for elections by an incumbent who is, nay, was seeking re-election?

Although, I wish to know your answer to my question, it is merely an academic exercise of interest to me. The answer of majority of Nigerians, particularly those from the most affected states was heard loud and clear on March 28th. They saw through the hypocrisy!

You know what GEJ said when he was asked why he had to wait one week before the elections, even forcing its postponement by 6 weeks? He said ordering weapons is not like buying packs of cigarettes. It took him one whole presidential term to realise that. Even worse, the questions that were raised by that statement. What happened to the billions of dollars (a third of our national budget if I remember correctly) that were budgeted for security all those years?

Feel free to dwell in your sanctimonious pontifications, you'll only end up hurting yourself, not the truth. It's this attitude of blaming the other instead of taking responsibility that nailed the coffin on GEJs ambition.
lol.

Nigerians saw through hypocrisy indeed.

Please everyone knows GEJ lost because the north felt it was their turn to rule.

It is a democracy so no biggie.

However, don't go preaching that change bullcrap.
It is a big lie.

On the contrary, I am happy the bombings have been called off.

There is no longer need for them since the general has been delivered.

1. That since GEJ and his clowns are no longer in power, they do not have the resources to continue sponsoring boko haram.

2. Buhari's strategic tactics and his quick-to-action guidance, compared to weak GEJ, stopped boko haram.
Lol

Buhari is yet to be sworn in yet no more bombs.

That policeman was obviously not laughing.

We just like to propagate hate unnecessarily.

Xenophobia is very bad but we only worsen the situation by posting unconfirmed reports.
