Ojukwu, the man that understands 'Nigeria' very well is dead. He might not be perfect but he has wisdom. ETHNICITY killed Nigeria! Till today we have not been able to solve this problem. |
Her death is a reminder that everyone MUST die one day, irrespective of your talent/achievement/position/status. Nevertheless, He voice and songs will ever remain green in our hearts Adieu Whitney! |
It is both a blessing and curse but that depends on who is using it and for what purpose. I suppose it was originally intended for business more than social -networking. Yes there are bandwagon effect on mainly youths to have one. That's where the abuse comes-in. Personally, moderation is the key. If it is not needful pls dont buy it. If you buy and gradually is becoming under its control, kindly sell it. I think is good for matured minds who can handle it. I would rather use the money for something more enterprising than having one if am student who depends on stipends from sponsors. |
Yes! Overspeeding/Impatience is the MAJOR cause of FATAL road accidents in Nigeria. Average Nigerian driver doesnt have 'driving sense' and are very reckless on the road Bad roads and poorly/ricketty vehicles are also problem. Most articulate vehicles/trucks on Nigeria roads are poorly maintained and often fail brakes Fake spare parts, Armed Robbers, Bank&Govt Excorts, there are many factors!!! |
There are many Zakari Biu in Police. They can go to any length to compromise national security for money or protection of interests of handlers/cabals/political bigwigs etc The only deterrant would be to teach this guy serious lesson (kirikiri maximum). Dismisal from Force is not enough! |
How much does it go? |
Outstanding success. 90/100 % mark. |
well done reps but many of you are clowns and speak from both sides of the mouth. Like the executive and judicial arm of government, we still have a long way to go as a nation in being civil. |
disappointing |
Subsidy removal by GEJ govt is like putting the cart before the horse. Every Tom, Dick and Harry knows that CORRUPTION is our main problem. That we are sudenly going bankrupt as a nation is not b/c of subsidy but because of prolonged and merciless plundering of our collective resources by very few.The whole world know that. Now we have a president that is not willing to fight corruption. He is afriad to cleanup NNPC and fight to standstill the so called 'cabal'. So why punishing the poor masses for his own ineptitude. Many Nigerians are already biting concretes, struggling painfully to survive in a land of plenty, only for GEJ to just wake up and like a military president, decreed and added salt to their injury by removing fuel subsidy. You can't beat a child and also force him not to cry, that's cruel. Ngozi, should shelve her intellectualism and IMF/WB economic flowchart and be realistic. How come IMF/WB economic experiments and theories are mainly tested in Africa and not in Europe/America? How come the same subsidy was not removed completely during OBJ time of which Ngozi was a finance minister? If we remain unserious and unwilling to tackle corruption, one day, and a just one season, Nigeria will go down, that's if BOko Haram does not beat corruption to it. |
Yes, that's how it is suposed to be. Pragmatic approach to a problem with a human face to it. PHCN has been dead and buried long ago and Nigerians are not surprised. But waking up on new year day and be rudily shocked with susidy removal which is like an out of blues decision is big thumb down to GEJ or whatever ministry this emanated from. The C-in-C shuld not punish me or Nigerians b/c he cannot clean-up NNPC. When he cleans up NNPC and have the will to fight corruption then subsidy removal will be quite easy. |
Another sad news. A repeat of 1966 war is imminent. While the Govt remain weak and confused, Christian shuld do everything possible to defend themselves. They shuld stop being too spiritual! At the background preparation shuld be on top gear in case seccession finally happens. Christians of Northern extraction what will be their faith as well as moslems of Southern extraction? Finally counting down for the eventual collapse of Nigeria b/c the Govt doesnt seem to have answers to security problem in today's Nigeria. My heart bleeds for Nigeria. Is that how the coockie will crumble? |
I am still under shock. Let's all work together and do something drastic before GEJ crashes Nigeria Arise Nigerians!!! |
In as much as I like the content of this tread however I think it's pre-mature to start adjusting b/c we have not even gone to the street to protest our displeasure. Are we that gullible that we are already agreeing? |
Fantastic tread! So meaningful that it culd help many to discover who they really are. I recommend this piece for NL Nobel prize for Peace. This tread trascended tribes and languages. It soothes instead enrage, heals instead of bring pain. I love it! |
Such admission of extreme slowness to make critical national decision is an impeachable offence. It's a mark of fear and weakness. A leader should not be above his follower except in responsibilities. The burden of fuel subsidy is unacceptable. |
Suddenly removing oil subsidy, hmn, is that how to show brave heart? This is simply, Killing with d spirits and sheding tears with human beings. GEJ pls show ur bravado to Boko Haram and not to the Nigerian masses that is already wounded under ur watch. This is the time for Nigerians to arise and ask Goodluck to resign. |
What a New Year gift to Nigerians by GEJ. We are yet to overcome the shock of xmas day only for GEJ to add a New Year shocker. I am disappointed in GEJ as a leader. He is so insensitive to the plight of d masses. I tire for this country! |
Jesus Christ symbolises love and so is Christianity. Why this kind of hatred and senseless killing. Can't Allah/God fight for himself. Why fighting for Allah/God who's supposed to protect u in the first place. Which kind of God is that, that cannot fight for himself? Haba! Human beings fighting for Spirits, nawaoo! Boko Haram will never go unpunished. The perpetrators of this devlish act will all die a sudden death with their bodies never to be found. May the soul of the victims rest in peace. May God grant their families fortitude to bear the loss. My heart bleeds and am pained to see Nigeria go under. The labour of our past heroes is almost in vain. We all failed! |
In the capacity of ECOWAS president, he has no choice than to issue a warning statement as expected, however, in the capacity of Nigeria president he has so much burden to deal with than to think of what is happening in G.Bissau. He, too should watch his back! |
Family deliverance my foot. Why paying for prayers? Nawaoo! Another dimension to desperation to survive in Nigeria. |
Spot on Prof! Nigeria is terribly sick and it urgently needs a drastic solution. Let us all go out to the street and demonstrate. Action speaks louder than good words! The entity called Nigeria is dying ooo! Hmnnnn! |
Fully supported the protest march. This shuld send a clear message to Boko & Govt that xtians cant take this anymore. Let what happened in 1966 not repeat itself. Hmn, GEJ wake-up frm sleep & tidy up all these mess otherwise we'll sink. |
dayoKanu and CyberG, your over bearing arguments are unnecessary and over nothing. If there is no event, there will be no history. We learn from our history and history is all about the past. Concentrate your energy and arguments on current issue(s) like Boko Haram that is about to bring Nigeria down and not over frivolities like my tribe is better than yours. If Boko Haram succeeds, it does not matter whether you are Igbo or Yoruba or Efik or Ijaw, etc. Also let's leave the dead (ojukwu/Akintola/Awolwo/Ziks/Belewa/etc) out of this and concentrate on correcting their mistakes. The foundation is really faulty and that's why after 50years we are yet to understand ourselves. Enough of my tribe is superior to your tribe fight in NL. Don't dissipate your energy on non-issues please. |
What a stupid question! Not even from a child, |
It is becoming clearer that the entity called Nigeria is at the verge of collapse. It is an experiment which has gone bad. We could not steem the tides that divided us on tribal and religious line after 50yrs of trying. Now if GEJ does not act fast and drastically, the boat will sink b/c it has already rocked. Boko Haram is EVIL that is capable of sinking Nigeria and shuld be taken seriously. Christians please beware and be wise b/c the anti-Christ is already on rampage. |
A bit of hypocritical question b/c marriage is much more than name changing. The main ingredient to successful marriage is patience, understanding & tolerance which many lack. Nevertheless, name- changing is valid for most cultural and religious marriages though I dont knw much about d court/legal ones. It depends on upbringing & values. Name changing does not demean or diminish anyone, so to say. Nowadays, our cultural/religious values are constantly being attacked by western way-of-life. In this our age we want to re-write everything. Let's be careful b/4 we create an uncontrollable society. |
Do not be decieved, God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows so shall he reap. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Instructions on daily living and prophecy of this age is in the bible. Knowledge + understanding + application = wisdom. No wonder the children of darkeness are wiser than children of Light. Do u know what time it is? Joy to the Wise! |
What a waste!!! Executive extravagance at the expense of tax payers. No conscience! |
I salute the courage of Nigerian senate for holding up to our cultural values & belief inspite of pressure. They got it right. Spot on! Let the bullies (Soyinka, UK & US govt) cry more. We shuld be very careful on what we adapt into our culture. Pls take-in only the positive one and leave the rest. Are we now culturally inferior? If you dont know your history, you've got no destiny. Liberty shuld not be abused in the name of expressing right to freedom or privacy. Liberty-abuse kills conscience. Soyinka's view on gay is anti-Nigerian. When Nigerian's say they dont want gay culture, Soyinka is saying we are all fools & shuld go back to school. Gay to me is alien & weird. From another angle- religon, it's horrible & disgusting. Sodom & Gomorra! Prostitution shuld also be legalised in the name of exercising privacy or freedom. Wise-up Nigerians! |
Based on the topic, I think every profession failed b/c the Nigeria system is crap. A bad system will definitely churn out bad professionals. You cant single out one profession that is not tainted with corruption or ineptitude. All in all, bad goverment/system begats bad people and bad people begats bad professionals. A snake can not give birth to an Eagle!! |
Fashola should bow his head in shame. Peaceful protesters should not be attacked for whatever reason. The toll gate issue is quite sensitive and should be handled carefully. Leaders shuld try and listen to the voice of their people. ACN have eventually become PDP, there is no difference again. Personally, I salute the courage of the protesters b/c injustice can only be addressed if u cry out loud. This is a wake-up call to Govt especially as we enter 2012. |
