I almost threw-up. Disgusting! Are we this wicked? |
Farouk Lawan |
Barth Nnaji. |
What a shame! What other lies can we tell the international community. ![]() My dear Nigeria is finished. |
of course, one language, culture and religion is always the best when a nation is at building stage. Diversity becomes a strength after the nation is built already, otherwise it hardly work. |
So disappointed in El-Rufai. So he's really an apologist to Boko. |
I can'tunderstand why Yoruba's are so much concerned about any 'moves' of the Igbos. Why are they having headache for another tribe's issues. Live and let Igbos live. The Hausas/Fulani and other tribes are minding their business but the Yoruba's wont. Dont worry about the Igbo's and do face you own business. Igbo this, Igbo that... na waoo! |
They are simply wonderful. |
Ribadu is the man! Fearless!!! |
Very pathetic. He is a good actor. Wonders shall never end in this country! |
What a country! |
Hatred is serious blindness. Time shall tell how long this 'joke' called Nigeria will last. |
For me, Dupsy Abiola performance at the Dragon's Den was super! Very very fantastic! |
Truth sometimes hurts but it must be told. We don't need Achebe to tell us this truth, because in Nairaland alone, it is obvious. It would have been a wise thing if Biafra were allowed to exist, so that this bitterness would end. Now that Igbo is part of Nigeria, it baffles me why the other major tribes are still complaining with hatred in their hearts. How else do you want an Igbo man to be when you are seeing him as an enemy instead of neighbor. It is not possible for Igbo to meet all the expectations of other tribes neither would it be possible for other tribe to do same. All tribes have different cultures and belief and some are resentful while some are wonderful. Since the Nigeria union is a forced union, we have to bear one another to forge ahead otherwise the union would remain dysfunctional as it is till date. Let Prof Achebe live. He is old and I perceive that he is gradually giving the younger generations a parting gift-which is the truth about our history. Let other elders do so from other tribes, so that we can all learn, otherwise we will keep on making mistakes. Enough of unnecessary insults on the man, pls! |
I don't understand why people want to bias these statements to be Igbo vs Yoruba discuss. These two governors weren't the only speakers at the forum. How healthy are our minds. Exactly what Fashola is saying our attitudes needs changing including that of the poster who titled this post as Fashola & Obi disagreeing. For me the two governors opinion are all good only that one should come before the other in implementation. The constitution need to be accepted by all parties then obeying it will be a lot easier. One of the biggest problem with Nigeria is fear of change. When something is not working we still stick to it b/c we are uncertain about the consequences of change. It's not only the constitution that need change but also the current leadership at the center. |
Truth sometimes hurts but it must be told. |
These ones should be maximally punished. What they did is barbaric and horrendous. |
There are so many dreadful and ear-tingling things happening in our so called citadel of learning. Thank God the educational embarrassment is coming to fore. I have seen one undergraduate who cannot write a simple letter through email. We aint seen anything yet... |
Time shall tell whether the entity called Nigeria will still stand not the current rantings in Nairaland. Corruption and tribalism is a serious treat to this union and should be our primary concern and not what happened in the past. Tribal bashing is a serious waste of time but can incite hatred just like Tutsi and Tutsi war in Rwanda. At the end it was all vanity and stupid. |
Not good at all. |
It is depends on how we individually defines success. It can be 'yes' for some and 'no' for others. But for me, marriage is a significant achievement and in fact gives humans sense of pride especially if it a happy one. |
very nice to be there with your wife especially in Nigeria where you can't trust anybody. You know what I mean. |
A very candid advise to all youths in Nigeira! He who has ears let him hear. The Ocean doesnt drown a man without first touching his legs. He who knows how to pound will pound on the moter and he who doesn't will pound on the ground. A rat that swims with lizard, if the body of the lizard dries what will be the case for the rat? A word is enough for the wise. Too much freedom can be a disaster. |
fagamite: DUde, its better to be a slave in America than be a king in Nigeria. True talk. There is nothing going on in Nigeria, America on the other hand is just out of this worldYou didn't say the above...may be a slip of tongue. But that's your choice anyway. Personally, I won't subscribe to being a slave to anybody or anything talk more of when am already a king. |
If only Muslims are a bit tolerant, there will be peace in the world. |
Spot on! The Bi-Cameral system is a waste for now. Even the present presidential system is also expensive |
I am not surprised. Just go through the streets and you will know that there is 'nothing for the Nigerian youth' Your survival is purely on your own. |
Bluetooth, Eko Atlantic and dayokanu why are you guys fond of hurling insults to other people. It's time this forum will be left only to you guys because it is becoming too childish for me. Let there be a sense of moderation a bit so that more concrete things can come out of the discussions in this forum. My car is better than yours attitude, is it not enough so that we can move on? |
info@lpf:Do not be curious and saddened. Just know that all these Muslims very well knew that it wasn't the US government that caused this issue. But mark it, any little or flimsy opportunity, these fanatics will strike on any US interest and by extension the west. Anything that will make US cry is their delight. This is my view and am seeing it going on for a while. In fact, it's not only US that is suffering it. Nigerian Christians are being killed for nothing just to get at the very heart of our emotional balance. There can never be any justification for the killings but the worst kind of blindness is the blindness of the mind. It is suicidal! |
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or unclothedness or danger or sword? Romans 8:37-39 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. |
