He should be careful of what he says because as political leader it might come back hurting. |
I hope this Buhari and his people will not cause war in Nigeria with their high-handedness and vituperations against SE. How come 'state of emergency' have not been declared in North inspite of all the atrocities that's going on there, but suddenly now started being clever by half when it comes to SE. Bandits, herdsmen and Boko Haram will go to villages and kill enmasse, burning houses and setting alight people's belongings. What do govt do? Feel shocked, commiserate with victims, give a new ultimatum, until next incident/killings. How come state of emergency never come across their mind until now? ![]() |
What a terrible idea. You don't quench real fire with fire. Umahi as an Igbo man, I guess understands the psyche of an average Igbo when it comes to injustice. He will hardly back down. I thought Umahi could use his position as chair of SE governors forum to engage IPOB with "talks and actions" to assuage their agitations. That's what Umahi as a political leader is supposed and expected to do if he's genuinely sincere to get to the bottom of this current wild east. Find a common ground with IPOB to cool things off, then count the damages latter. That's how militancy was descalated in Niger Delta. Peace is always preferred than fight, however some peace can never come without a fight. |
Umahi being the chairman of SE governors forum is now counter productive as he now uses his position to water down the perceived general opposition by SE to Buhari's federal government. Never forget he has been nursing an ambition, and would do anything to make Buhari happy, so that he will keep his hope of higher political ambition alive. Remember how he protested at the choice of Peter Obi as VP by Atiku. There and then, he started singing a different tune. I doubt he supported Atiku-Obi ticket bc he said he wasn't consulted as a stakeholder. Compare him with Ondo governor, and you will see a very big difference. While the later is galvanising the whole south to a collective common course for the good of the citizens, what is Umahi doing, he's playing hide and seek. Neither here or there, so that he will still be seen as an ally by Buhari. Imagine the SE governors are not really United. They don't sing one tune or speak one voice to solidify the interest of SE but personal interests consumes their energy. I hope Soludo wins so that he can galvanise the SE to common economic and may be political course. This current set of governors is unbelievable. ![]() |
This kind of comment will fast track the breaking of Nigeria into North and South Nigeria. |
"It wasn't me"...credit to Shaggy. Even Pantami said the same thing. |
This man no dey sleep for IPOB matter ooo. It's now a nightmare. |
A very good point for our Igbo neighbors to learn and digest. Igbos are born that way, to always reject injustice. Call it stubborness, call being troublesome, one thing for sure is that they will always resist injustice. And they are vocal and direct about it. If Nigeria was founded on equity and justice, there won't be all these troubles. |
I read the expose with shock. Now I can understand why an Islamic Cleric in the name of Gumi is defending the bandits. It was strange to me but after reading this, I can now connect the dots. Now I understand why Buhari is not firing on full cylinders to end BH. Now I can relate why a serving minister is strangely sympathetic to the course of Osama Bin Ladin. Can you imagine that the founder of NASCO biscuits that we all loved then, is a big money financier to terrorist organisations esp in the Magreb region of North Africa. No wonder this APC government is so weird. It is controlled by core jihadist movement activists and sympathisers. |
What's really going on in the EAST. Why the carnage? |
Sammy07:Beautiful ❤️. I learnt sth today. Thank u. |
I didn't know there is River Ogun. I thought Ogun is God of thunder. |
How can Nigeria progress if we refuse to sit on the round table or give each other opportunity to discuss the way forward. |
It is a variant of Igbo language or a derivative. A bit fast spoken, but Igbo words can be picked easily. |
Buhari the unity destroyer, you mean? |
dre11:The North have tried all tactics but ended up shooting itself on foot. You had the presidency for more that 50 years and you are still the poorest. How come? What lessons have you guys learnt? |
perambulator:Your thought about SE economics is a bit parochial in my view. Your talk leaned heavily on land mass and population as the metrics for economic success but I think in this 21 century, it is level of productivity and quality of human resources that is key. Have you seen such countries like: South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Belgium, Switzerland, etc, they are dot on the map but are economic giants in the world. I leave you to draw the necessary analytics. So think big of the world. See the world as your playing field. That's how Igbos think. And that's what attracts unnecessary hatred by you lots. |
perambulator:So by your logic, all that the northern leaders were doing for the past 50 years in leadership is to carry out cold war against Igbos with the hope to break them. That's interesting to know. How much did they succeed if I may ask? |
Nigerians and shadow chasing. How can there be election in Nigeria with the ongoing huge security challenges - which has gone unabated. Yes, the game of political permutations and combinations is interesting and amusing but let's not be blind to the big elephant in the room. Security and Poverty! |
The North have been found out. They rigged the system to their favour under military governments. The forgot that one day the deceived will find out. There cannot be unity when a section of the country thought they owned the country. If there is still tiny elements of unity or pseudo unity in Nigeria, Buhari unfortunately have killed it off. |
1. Buhari have no business with leadership and shouldn't have been handed a lottery of being re-elected to power inspite of his incompetence. 2. Buhari should resign now before the damage to national psyche gets to the state of coma. 3. If the no.2 above happens, then may be there could still be hope to re-unite the country, where every federating part of the country should be allowed to determine their fate. |
This man has always defended banditry as if there is no law in the land. Is Nigeria now a lawless society that the so called cleric is shamelessly advocating for these bandits without thoughts about the victims. What a mess! |
If you want peace in Nigeria, then rotate positions between north and south. It's only Buhari that has abused the federal character code by appointing so call best brains only from the north. How do you reconcile this? Did Sanusi ever raise a voice about this, neither do El Rufai. |
Strange things happening in Igboland. Tufiakwa! |
A northerner speaking sense, just like Father Kuka will do. But you see those their politicians and some of their educated elites, they're manipulators. |
What an effontry? South sit down with who? It seems the north want Nigeria to break, and they rule themselves. This is not military govt. |
Reno is putting words in Buhari's mouth. What a turn coat he is. Like FFK like Reno. |
Imagine what the plight and feelings of the children will be. They lost both parents to evil people in Nigeria. Very sad! |
Is this for real, taking down Nigeria flag? |
Even if you talk, nothing will still happen. Buhari govt are not that interested, neither is the senate not house of rep. The carnage will continue until we all decide one day to get grip of failing Nigeria. The lists are many of people that are indicted by public opinion, but it really changed nothing. Even America couldn't muscle Nigeria to release Kyari to them. It's same Buhari govt. It doesn't change. |
Labour and productivity indeed. Nigeria labour law is biased towards employers and they take advantage of it. Meanwhile security issues, power problems, nepotism, high loan interests and dollar wahala have had a knock on effect on job creation. The amount of brain drain going on in Nigeria is alarming. Govt should focus on stabilising the country at least. |
You were asked to drill (punish) him and you ended up killing him - your colleague. Na wa ooo! |
