I don't talk much on this forum so i wont expose my ignorance , but of late i have been seeing some ads in the newspapers(hard copies,not e-versions o,so the NID's might not know about it.)Its an E shape and it keeps talking about coporate governance and the banking system. After i saw the ad,the fonts and style looked like the ones we used to use when i was working with ETB. After asking someone, the person confirmed it must be from ETB but doesnt know whats cropping.

I am saying this to ask if anybody knows whats going to happen,because i learnt Adenuga employed KPMG to purge the 'Civil service mentality' out of the bank and ensure a proper governance structure.The koko of the long story is this.

RT Briscoe results were a bit disappointing; PAT was 610M when the projection was 635M. PAT growth was 15% vs 166% for 2006 over 2005. Looks like RT is about to become a value stock. Good thing (for me) they declared a bonus. Hopefully, I can bail out with my 20-25% on Thursday (the real closure date since the market is closed on the 21st and 24th)

Now that you have the NSE OLHC/Volume data (named NNSE to avoid confusion with AptiStock's Indian NSE), go through the following steps to import the file.

"Tools"
"Data Downloader"
Under Data Destination, check "Other Market" and input the market name NNSE

Select "Import" at the bottom of the window and the "Import Data from EOD Data File" will come up.
Under "File Select", click on "Browser"
Change file type to "Comma Separated File (*.csv)"
Find the place you saved the NNSE file (which you must have unzipped) and select it.
Click "open"
Back on the "Import Data from EOD Data File" window, click "Import"


AptiStock will spend some time loading the data and creating a CSV file for every stock. Repeat the import process when you get new data and it will append new data to existing stocks. It will also create new symbols for new stocks

As a newbie (welcome) make I give you an out-of-the-box suggestion; First Inland bank! Dey watch as the thing dey decline but pick it up when you feel a support. They'll triple PAT after the current FY and banks have had a pretty decent record of meeting the projections in prospectuses (or is it prospectii?). Unfortunately, the FY will be truncated at 8 months because of the Dec YE edict. But I like it as a growth stock.

Other than that, UBA, UBA, UBA.

BTW, I no get First inland but I get UBA plenti.

Mr Rewane, who is a major shareholder in one of the banks specifically said that many of the banks are over-exposed in their loans for shares purchase. I believe that the figure that has been mentioned is as high as 40%. Don't know if this figure is correct but factor it into your consideration.

I read an IBTC report that claimed margin facilities had reached N700b in 2007. At 15% interest, it must be contributing close to 100B to the topline for banks.
