@All,
Nigerian Stock Exchange has today added 900 million ordinary shares to the number of shares outstanding in favour of First City Monument Bank Plc. (FCMB) following the placement of their GDR.
FCMB never begin. THere are 4.5B shares waiting to be added from the PO (assuming no oversubscription)

@ FBN people, they now have 19.87 B shares after they listed 7.666B shares from the PO on Dec 12

@ the Japaul question, yes you will benefit from any bonus in 2008. Said bonus will not be paid till sometime in 2009 when your shares will have been listed. They may still pay a bonus in the next few months for the 2007 FY. If they do, you no go get am o since they have yet not listed your shares.

Ha!!! I fear you o. No track record for Obamahuh Track record only starts in the US senate? Obama "fumbles"huh and HRC has a "good" track recordhuh Tell me ONE thing that HRC has done. No need to argue this one.
Obama does fumble when he's not thoroughly prepared: na Mrs Easimoni first talk am self. HRC's track record? hmmmmmm HRC introduced GSM to naija (wait, that was OBJ's ONLY achievement". tongue  grin) Never said HC had a good record (as a Senator,no, since they don't do much anyway. I wonder what Hilary has to offer , was she not advising Bill in the Bedroom during his 8 years reign?? Na only their family get leadership skills abi they want to turn to dictator huh
He cannot endorse either one because the guy is going to be bridesmaid VP candidiate again. He must play his cards right.

I'm for the Clintons (did I hear you scream "traitor?)  tongue Methinks Obama is a rock-star; too quick a rise and no track record. He was a nobody only 4 years ago and now is the front-runner. He has no negatives because he's done nothing. It's easy for him to say he opposed the war from the beginnning; he wan't yet a senator when it was time to vote. Also seems to fumble a lot when he's debating instead of speaking. But he seems like a good guy and I think he'll win.

The Japaul bonus is actually planned for 2008 FY and not 2007, so what's the market crazy about? Even if they beat the 07 forecast by 100% and the 08 forecast by 100%, it's still sooooo expensive (esp since we don't know how many shares were sold at the PO - u know how that story goes).

This is for the Large Hearted Gurus here: easimoni; pumping77, windywendy, dollyp1cute, wanaj0, fatherof2, Frankriri

I am new to trading so please can you explain how one can carry out the following trading styles:

RORO - roll on roll off
CICO - cycle in cycle out
GIGO - get in get out

Secondly, is FSDH Securities Limited a reliable broker (do they have a reliable and efficient online based service) ?. If not which ones can I get for about 1m.

Many thanks.
No mind us jo! They all mean the same thing. The premise is you buy a stock when you anticipate news (mostly announcement of results/bonuses/dividends or lifting of technical suspensions) that should drive the share price to a new level. You don't wait to see where the stock goes in the long-term; you simply exit when your target price appreciation (ex-fees) has been met. Fo2 is the pioneer of this strategy and recommends 25% as your target. It should take anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months if you time it right.

It is not for the faint of heart or the patient ones. It is for those who enjoy tracking prices daily and turning-over several times a year. Not sure I can offer you a comparison of this method to others (such as Wanaj0's patented "multi-year siddon look if nothing bad dey happenTM" tongue) but it has it's merits.

I hereby pass on your FSDH request to others. I use their spreadsheets (the best!) but have no knowledge of how good the services are.

Ok o, let's wait for Easimoni to confirm  his figures by the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses . . .  smiley
Here is the official Lasaco outstanding shares story: Once upon a time, time time, Lasaco had 1.411B shares. They came to the market (Oct 2006) and offered us 6.854B shares strictly out of the kindness of their hearts. yeah right! But, only 5.992B shares were alloted representing 87% allotment Lasaco kept quiet for 15 months, letting the likes of Lead Capital the rumbling, bumbling brokers assume they only had 1.411B shares outstanding; Lead, in turn, advertises a PE btwn 5 and 7 and screams BUY BUY BUY!  tongue But alas, the truth is out and Lasaco has come clean much to the chagrin of certain analysts (who need to be flogged for not being able to calcuate PE)

Where the story get k-leg be say na 5.992 B shares (87% allotment) them suppose list. How them take list the full 100%, I no sabi. Anyway, update your sheets to 8.265B shares ( 1.411 + 6.584) until we see the audited report or prospectus (u know it's coming)

Forgive me for the story, been a slow day at work.  tongue tongue tongue

Please anyone one insights about this company should expand ooo, I know their forward PE is around 40, but because there is no other company to compare it with-- how do we evaluate oooo.
The thing baffle me no be small. I bought small at 7.50 thinking it'd take 2-3 months to RORO/CICO/GIGO (do I sense Fo2 smirking, saying "this fundamentalist dey CICO?"wink. Now, 6 wks l8r, I'm about to pull the trigger. I don't think the 200+% PAT growth rate is sustainable (revenue is growing at 70%) and therefore a forward PE of 40 is not justifiable (my opinion)

Hi to all the gurus in the house, i wish i had known of this forum before i participated in Big Elephants offer.

I applied for 10 big ones(330k) and i had 8.3m returned after 7 months, now i have 5 months to make something out of it before i return 7 big ones(incl interest) to UBA. I intend to split as follows.

125k   GTB
30k     FBN
20K    UBA
25K    ZENITH
30K   ACCESS

Please every advise/criticism will be very welcome
I don't understand how you invest N330k in the FBN offer and get N8.3M back  huh Your folio looks solid though I'd recommend avoiding Access. with the allocations they announced and the debt-to-equity conversion, the PE is going to take a beating in the coming months.
