We need a scribe to start taking notes to write a book. Any takers? Too much info/knowledge being archived on these pgs.

@ yodiyokun
Very observant. If I get your question; like easimoni said, the fact is you can't be sure if price is going down or up. You just have to wait to see which trendline price breaks and then trade accordingly. I was biased to the price breaking top blue line just because we were in a bull market but one never knows. Perhaps anyone with fundamental info on Airservice can shed more light on the stock.
Now that is the KOKO grin Good a reason as I can think of.

Difference between divergence and convergence? teacher easimoni?

also how can you be soo sure that this convergence will produce postive price action since it can also produce negative price action?

Sorry, my question too much!! grin
See another example below. How do you know whether the breakout is +ive or -ive? I think I'll need Larry's crystal ball for dat one!  grin grin I'll consult John J Murphy and get back 2 u.

Pumice and Aktopgun,

Oya  show your color and explain that chart you paste to me.

I tell you I don read this thing tire, I no fit understand how picture dey give signal.

I just dump the murphy book I dey read ojere,
You see the two blue lines pumice drew? They connect the "tops" and the "bottoms" of recents trends. When the lines converge, something must give! The price must go up or down sharply AKA "breakout". Pumice is saying (u see the black arrow?) the breakout is happening right before our eyes. And it should be a +ive breakout.

Hello guys,

Just wanted to call you attention to the Airservice breakout of the wedge today. I do not usually include MACDs, but I decided to today after reading that wonderful primer by aktopgun.

Cheers.
Invaluable stuff! I wish the fundamentals were stronger but a FY 2007 PE (expected) of 32 is a bit too pricey for me, but I fully expect it'll obey your trend analysis.

Temmie10,
na your face be dis?

@ ALL,
my musings after seeing today's numbers:
[li]Deap Cap and Big Treat both dropped points; the party is over (?)[/li]
[li]After losing ~20% in the previous 7 trading days, Trans-Expr gained today. It may have bottomed-out. Grab your copy now[/li]
[li]The N50 resistance seems real o. Even Zenith is butting heads with it. UBA failed to breach it. But the Elephant just broke through it!  grin If FBN can sustain a run above 50, the next set of results by UBA/Zenith/Union/InterCont may be enough to wipe out the resistance. Get your UBA now/soon. See what AP did to the downstream sector, esp Oando[/li]
[li]Blood-letting continues on the Ins dance floor. Too unstable for the faint-hearted.[/li]
I'm exactly in the same shoes & socks here, it's quite baffling that with the volume of trade & the fact that the stock has been on net bid, my broker has not been able to sell! Any explanations please?
@ Adeyinkat and DisGuy,
If your brokers can't sell a stock that's been on net bid for 4 days, there are only 2 issues;
1. You put a limit on the sales price which handcuffs your broker. remove it.
2. You broker is incompetent not aggressive enough. Threaten to report him/her on Nairaland. Seems to have worked in the past.

I just bought from shares fro bank Phb IPO, though not much but they seem to have appreciated well, I just want to know how i can register them with a stock broker
If you already have a broker, give it to your broker to register. If not, you need to open an account with one. You may need to add cash if the value of your certificate is not up to the broker's minimum.

UBA needs to make gains o! Your boy is in big time.  grin

Abi how una see am?
I concur. But it'll take months for the shares to be listed and I don't see a free fall until those shares are listed. The PP will surely add another 3 months to the process and I don't think the PO shares will be listed until all is complete. Now I wish I'd gone in. But long-term, it's going to be rough.

@ Easimoni,
can u upload the consent letter please. I subscribed to the PO too.

@ lawalidowu

AIICO
Law Union and Rock
Crusader (assuming no shares to be listed from numerous mergers)
Int Energy Ins
Standard Alliance

All depends on the offers to come; how succesful they are and what projections will be made. I've washed my hands of the Ins sector. Good luck.

hardMoney:
Below is the text I just received from my broker,   I know the content may affect some of you.  You may need to take quick action as the consent is about to expire.  Please contact your stock broker for the consent letter.

Gurus in the house, How does additional 2,657,835,300 units affect Japaul in the short and long run?
,

Please find attached draft of a Consent Letter regarding Japaul Excess monies - the Offer was over-subsribed by about 400%. As you may be aware, the  Allotment proposal for Japaul Hybrid offer has been approved by SEC and full allotment was granted to only applicants within the range of  1,000 - 50,000 units, while those that applied for units from 50,001 and above will be given partial allotment. However the joint Lead Issuing Houses have structured an arrangement to ensure that applicants that partial allotees get full allotment via a supplementary private placement and which exercise has already been approved by SEC.
So should you prefer not to receive return money payments, kindly execute and return to us  the attached Consent letter so that you can benefit from this opportunity.

Please ensure that your Consent Letter gets to us on or before Tuesday Feb.5th, 2008, as no letters will be treated after this date.
So Japual wants to swallow 400% oversubscription? Is the 2.7B shares you quoted above the hybrid offer or inclusive of it? Either way 400%  oversub will be diffcult to handle in the long-term. Still months away from listing so short-termers need not worry, esp if they decide to issue a bonus. PO buyers wil def not benefit from the bonus sha!

Omoba, thanks for the Wema update. I need am!
