I taught BMC zombies held all the notorious monikers. Why are you people now crying. So you want us to support you guys in suppresssing the truth. Over our dead bodies! Don’t get it twisted, many of us dislike IPOB but when paid guys like you want to paint a dog bad inorder to kill it, we speak up. We speak against evil! When the EndSARS happened we spoke up. When thugs and hoodlums hijacked our genuine protest we didn’t keep quiet. When the army began shooting at protesters we spoke up! When the EndSARS in Rivers turned to a tribal battle we spoke up. I made sure IPOB bore the brunt. And now that the army have turned themselves to killers in Oyigbo, do not expect us to keep quiet. We will never fold our hands and allow another Odi happen in Oyigbo. Not in my lifetime. The security operatives have no right to commit extrajudicial killings on anyone without being tried and found guilty. This is a new generation. Even if you people regulate the social media, we will always speak in condemnation of the nonsense happening in this country. |
solonazzy:And what happened to apprehending the culprits? Why must the military carryout another Odi in Oyigbo? What is the correlation with army invasion and shoot at sight order? |
Exmilitant:And what will happen if Wike is messed with? Is Wike not smart enough to understand the antecedent of the army when it comes to dealing with non-northerners? Which 1966? This is 2020 bring the gbege. You never see anything. Na noise you just dey make. No use mouth talk wetin go clear your doubts. |
RedPhoenix:You need to watch your mouth. So IPOB must be killed according to you |
Aregbesola is really a trickster. Minister of interior cannot claim not to know what happened in Lagos. Now the dots are connecting. I bet Tinubu attack dogs and BMC didn’t see this coming. To even think they rushed to blame IPOB for the destruction in Lagos is quite a shame to their political sophistication. Only an insider can pull this job, and that person is not far from a Tinubu’s right hand man. |
What about Kelly Handsome? The maga don pay crooner. He released a banger recently after years in absentia. |
Juliusmalema:Who let this one our from Yaba? Does the topic relate to what is ground? Whoever made this video should be appreciated. Most especially now that a lot of touts fix their ears to Radio Biafra forgetting that we are known to respect visitors in our land. Igbos are lovely people and this woman in the video proves that. |
See dem. Fools |
Ibadansun1:You’re right. Made the correction. But every other mentions is verified. However, what you call the Fulani are Jihadist of different tribes. And majority of the Jihadist were Nupe and Baruba. |
Ibadansun1:You still don't want to learn. Maybe you want me to reply boldly. |
Ibadansun1:You don’t want to learn and that’s a problem. Dump that book you were taught in school, keep time to study well researched works. 1. I just checked. You were right. Ajayi Crowther was captured by Fulani. 2. Emir Shitta ruled Ilorin. Now are you aware that Oyo Ile still exist in present Kwara state. Oh, you think they were all chased out? Infact, only the family of the Alafin, his Chiefs and others fled. Some fled to found Ibadan, while other fled to found modern Oyo town. However, those who remained in Oyo Ile converted to Islam and were spared. The present Oyo Ile is under an Emir and the territory is under the Shonga Emirate in Edu LGA. As I told you before, the Emir of Shonga during a courtesy visit to our NYSC camp told us this. The people are Yoruba and Nupe but are ruled by a Fulani Emir. 3. The Jebba town is a chiefdom under the Borgu Emirate. Jebba became recognized after Borgu joined Niger state. 4. The Tapa people are in Ibarapa I know. They are found in many parts of Yoruba land. You can find them in Okokomaiko in a place called Ago Tapa. They are also found in Lagos Island and in Oshodi. |
Ibadansun1:This is what I’m correcting. The Fulani did not conquer Ilorin, they only installed an Emir after the death of Afonja. The Fulani did not even raid old Oyo. Those who raided old Oyo we're the Nupe and Bariba. Jihadist can be any tribe who fight for an Islamic cause. |
victons:It’s not about how close Oshogbo is to Ibadan. The main thing that bonded both was the former Oyo empire. After the fall of Oyo, Ibadan became the heir to the former empire. Ibadan was the city where the refugees of old Oyo converged. Therefore, Oshogbo had no choice than bow to Ibadan. In that sense, fighting a battle in Osogbo was similar to fighting in Ibadan soil. |
mrmachine:Borgu was never a vassal to Oyo. The Bariba people who dominate Baruten LGA were under the Kiama emirate before it was joined with Bassa emirate to form the larger Borgu emirate by the British. If you say Kaiama was a vassal under Oyo, we never know because history didn't record so. History only recorded that Borgu kingdom hosted Oyo when Tsoedo from Nupe invaded it. But one thing we know was that the Bariba, Nupe and Oyo live side by side. Even till now if you visit towns like Share, you would not know the difference between Tsaragi and Share. Tsaragi is the Nupe derivative, while Share is what the Yoruba call it. Share falls under Ifelodun LGA, and Tsaragi is under Edu. There is no common boundary between both. The same is applicable to Jebba a Yoruba town, close by to Moro in Niger state, separated by the River Quorra (Niger). Even Lafiaji and Shonga towns, host both Yoruba and Nupe who live together. The Yoruba call the Nupe Tapa while the Nupe call the Yoruba Oyo. |
Ibadansun1:The history of that area is muddled if we even go deep. Let me break it down. The Fulani did not really come down to conquer those areas as people may think. Only a few Fulani fighters joined the push. But majority of the Jihadist were indigenes. In Bida for instance, the leader of the Jihad was a Nupe. He was even the first Emir of Bida Emirate until a Fulani leader spring up to take power. Consequently, in Ilorin Afonja lead the Jihad there. Rebelling against Oyo was to make Ilorin an Islamic town. A lot of people don't know that Afonja was a Muslim. He joined forces with Alimi to achieve this task. However, the palace coup that happened in Bida, was what happened in Ilorin. Alimi plotted against Afonja and had him assassinated. It was in the demise of Afonja that Alimi made his son Abubakar the first Emir of Ilorin. It was he Abubakar that structured Ilorin into the Balogun houses. But inspite of Ilorin being ruled by Alimi it wasn’t recognized by Dan Fodio until the coming of Sultan Bello when Abubakr went to collect the Jihad flag. And it was this period that Islamic scholars added Ilorin to the Banza Bakwai Hausa history. For the other Emirate such as Borgu, it was the British who joined the Bassa emirate in present Niger with that of Kiama emirate in present Kwara into what we know as Borgu emirate in 1954. However, it was the Bassa emirate that fought Lugard tooth and nail before they were defeated. That was why Lugard made Bassa the head of Borgu Emirate. For the Baruba people, there are scattered in Kaima and Bassa. But they dominate Baruten LGA in Kwara north. |
Ibadansun1:I actually did my NYSC in Kwara. I knew all these history first hand as a Librarian in KWHA. Borgu, Bida and Ilorin we're not actually conquered in the same way like Kano Emirate. Each of them invited the Jihadist. In the case of Bida and Borgu, both collected Jihad flags from Dan Fodio. In simple sense, Borgu as an emirate was not even recognized until 1954 when the British joined Kaima and Bussa emirate to form it. The recognized emirate by Sokoto in that axis was Lafiaji before the Emir was demoted to a chief by the British. Today Lafiaji as a chiefdom falls under Shonga Emirate created when Borgu town joined Niger. In the case of Ilorin, it was not recognized as an emirate until the coming of Sultan Bello (Heir to Usman Dan Fodio). |
yarimo:You are right. Borgu is a local government in Niger state. The present Kainji falls under it. However, Borgu was once under Kwara until the people asked to be joined to Niger state in 1991. The Borgu emirates spreads from Niger to Kwara. As a matter of fact, Kwara North Senatorial zone falls under the old Borgu emirate. There’s even a Shonga Emirate in Edu local Government of Kwara north. I guess, this Emirate oversea the people of the whole Kwara north if I’m not mistaken. During our NYSC camp in Edu, the Emir of Shonga (A good man and former Army Colonel) who spoke fluent Yoruba visited us. He told us he’s the paramount ruler of the towns in Kwara north and that the old Oyo we knew about is what is known as Shonga. |
Ibadansun1:Bariba as a name is even Hausa. Baribawa is the full meaning, just like Nupeci and Yaribawa. Bariba is the name of the people, Borgu is their emirate, while Borgu LGA is the headquaters of Borgu emirate. Borgu emirates consist of several tribes, which includes the Bariba, Nupe, Fulani and many others. In Kwara state for instance, Baruten is seen as the remnant of Borgu emirate. Borgu emirate stretches from Benin republic, to Kwara north and up to parts of Niger state. In the old Oyo empire, Borgu was an independent kingdom that had the same status as Nupe. Both were allies to Oyo. In fact, when Nupe under Tsoede invaded Oyo, it was in Borgu Kingdom Oyo people fled to. When Oyo finally got themselves after year's of rebuilding, that a new Alafin rose and took the battle to Nupe. Oyo never conquered Borgu. Rather both were allies who helped advanced the Oyo empire. However, when the Fulani began their Jihad, the trio of Nupe, Borgu and Oyo fell to the jihadist. It was even said that Nupe and Borgu never really fell to Dan Fodio, but rather a few Nupe and Borgu sons solicited the flag from Sokoto to which they used in claiming their kingdoms to the Islamic fold. But when the deed was achieved, the Fulani sons within plotted their removal and installed Fulani Emirs in both Kingdoms, similar to what happened in Ilorin. After cementing their claim to the throne, each Emir rallied the indigenes of both Borgu and Nupe to match towards Oyo. In fact, the army Alimi/Afonja used in fighting Oyo was gotten from the bulk of Nupe and Borgu kingdoms. Even when Oyo fell, it was these two kingdoms that continued the match down south, terrorizing Yorubaland until they were defeated in the hands of Ibadan warriors at Oshogbo. |
orisa37:Which yeye Goodluck. The one who failed the Niger-Delta by sleeping in office for 6 years with no tangible achievement. Jonathan is now past tense, join hands and support the Igbos for Presidency. |
Ibadansun1:Are you sure about this? Jagaban has an Hausa meaning and was used in the Fulani emirate of Borgu (part in present Benin republic). It has nothing to do with Oyo empire. As a matter of fact, apart from Bida emirate, they formed the main marauders that terrorized Yorubaland after the fall of Oyo. The Borgu emirate is headquartered in Baruten in Kwara state and once ruled present Kwara north senatorial zone upwards towards Kainji in Niger state. It took Lord Lugard both blood and firepower to conquer them. Infact they mounted the highest resistance than any other emirate in the ancient Fulani sultanate. Even more than Kano and Sokoto.

Vanzcharles:The dude is right. Fani-Kayode’s Great Grand Father had same story as Ajayi Crowther. Both were Sierra Leonean with Yoruba origin who were educated by the Anglican mission in Freetown. The same way Ajayi Crowther traced his family to Iseyin, was the same way Rev Kayode traced his to Ile-Ife. Ajayi Crowther luckily met his mother, whom he converted to Christianity and changed her name to Hannah. Rev Kayode might have seen his own family too. I once read a book when during the fracas with Awo, Fani-Kayode’s father was accused of not knowing his village in Ife. However, this does not take away his blue blood. Fani-Kayode is among the few privilege Nigerians with a strong Aristocratic lineage. Imagine having a Great Grand Father with a Masters Degree from a British University. The Fulani link is actually Fani-Kayode’s Grand mother. |
slimfit1:You and who will fight the war? Count Igbos out of your stupidity. So the on going wahala in Oyigbo is not enough, you people want to cause another bigger problem. Meanwhile receive sense
|
NNEWIsuper:Keep deceiving people who don't know this moniker. |
sageb:You don drink ogogoro. Imagine the stupidity. So na you we go join enter bondage. |
Abaman001:Which yeye Ogoni? What stop the Ogoni’s from claiming it. Don’t introduce this nonsense here. |
Igboid:Well, I’ve heard you bro |
Reno is insane. All he keeps talking about is Lekki Killings, he should also lend his voice to the Oyigbo killings too. |
As a matter of fact if things were done right in this country. All of Shettima, Nnamdi Kanu, Asari Dokubo, Junaid Mohammed, Adeyinka Grandson, and others should be in jail by now. |
Tejuri:I expected the world to come down on Wike. What I’m seeing in Oyigbo is not what I expected. Truth be told, the army is killing at will. |
Igboid:Pazienze I just beg you to focus on the issue. And that is Wike vs IPOB. Oyigbo people are being killed extrajudicially and it pains me. I have not slept since days well. Always calling friends and loved ones in that axis. Two wrongs can never make a right. I beg you not to make matters worst. I’m a Rivers man and know much about happenings in my state than many of you in the SE. Yes, you might have your experience about the Ikwerre people, but take it from me, majority are not with Wike in this particular issue. A lot feel Wike goofed. Don't be surprise if the likes of Amaechi makes this political in a coming days by slamming Wike. Wike allowed Nnamdi Kanu enter his head by rushing with such regrettable actions. I expected that the security personnel were called to arrest trouble makers and not take laws into their hands. But it wasn't as I thought. |
Igboid:So you are now judging all Ikwerres because of Wike? Change from this mentality Pazienza. Stop being too narrow minded, it will damage you. Wike isn’t speaking for the Ikwerres. A lot Ikwerre in my groups are as angry as you. Stop this nonsense. Stop this nonsense you are doing? Wike is making a mistake by not seeking advice before acting. Don't make this an Ikwerre affair. The Ikwerre’s are not in support of him. Change from this sentiments in your head. |
Muna4real:Wike is politicizing the happening in Oyigbo and it will spell doom for him if he doesn't call the army to order. I expected the security operatives to arrest those involved in the crisis and not make things worst. But it's obvious things have now excalated. I don't know how Wike would come out of this unscathed? It's not too late for Wike to seek advice rather than keep making things worst for himself. |
