It was carved out of Abia, not imo.

Egbema was the one carved out of Imo
Oyigbo and my Egbema were carved out of old Imo. The East Central had only two states then, Imo and Anambra. It was Gov. Sam Mbakwe of Imo state that dragged the then federal government to court. Abia as a state was later created from Imo in 1991. Get it!

Oga shhuss! Didn't Southern Cameroons conducted a referendum in 1960 to leave Nigeria? While Northern Cameroons voted to join the north? What would you call that?

Don't worry Biafra isn't going with your Ijaw lands. You'll definitely stay in your ND republic. Biafra shall be a country of mutual consent groups. Peeps like my folks in Rivers, the Akwa/Cross folks and other minority groups with a mutually agreed constitution that allows every group controls its resources, regional government and so much more. Militant and unproductive groups are not needed in the new country, but civilized and hardworking fellas. Thanks

OMAR12:
NRI is the spiritual father of northern Igbo land whose popularity went as far as Bini and igala, aro is the spiritual father and war chief of southern igbo. the middle is just both aro and nri coming together like we hear mbairi, mbaitoli, mbaise, mbano these are just the coming together or people that understood each other. my opinion
Nri and Aro are significant only in their enclaves. While Nri was founded mainly on spiritual and cultural ethos, Aro was simply a war-like bully who rose up to cheat others of their earnings, forcefully steal lands and inhumanly sell able bodied Igbo population to slavery.
None is the spiritual father of Igboland. Nri is just the spiritual father of Umueri and Aro the spiritual father of Aro Okigbo.

You busy blowing hot air! We dont even need Ijaws in Biafra, five SE states, Delta North, Upland Rivers & Akwa Ibom/Cross River will make a perfect country. Bayelsa, Delta South & Riverine areas of Rivers state will always remain volatile & so will be a liability to Biafra. Your fight with Itsekiri In Warri is a pointer to what ND republic will be. Every state will control its resources in Biafra & Igbos are business minded people that have no time for billigerancy while Ijaws are redundant & lazy in nature.
Easy Mr Everest. You're were too harsh with your tune! But still you carved a true picture of what Biafra would be. A country made of every part of Igboland (SE, SS, NC). Other friendly minority tribes may join through a referendum. Ijaws and others should form their ND republic.

cheesy the plan to make Nigeria a pariah nation by evil forces just went up a notch, somebody just had to blame "Niger Delta militants" for crimes perpetrated by local criminals. Only the north will starve and maybe the West. As for us in the South-South we are ready to exchange our oil and technological strides from our cousins in the South-East for imported food from Brazil and Thailand. We can decide to produce some staple food like cassava, rice and plantains for sustainance, the rest can be imported if need be.
If Britain can import most of its food from the carribean and still survive, who says we can't do the same.

Last shot: The 2050 I foresee is the era of the 5 seperate republics of the former entrapment called 'Nigeria'.

Amaechi may be hated, but on this one he is
right. And I support him whole-heartedly.
You cannot abandon the almost dilapidated
Nigerian Maritime Academy Oron, for a new one
in Gbaramatu. Methink the money should be
channeled to renovating and standardizing the
one at Oron to bring it at par with it's
counterparts in other neighbouring countries.
The interest of the Niger-Delta should be
seperated from the interest of the Ijaws. For
God sake, must everything post-amnesty booty
coming to the Niger-Delta be cornered by the
Ijaws. Are we not part of the Niger-Delta? Are
the Efik-Ibibio, Itshekiri's, Urhobos, Isokos,
Ogonis not part of the Niger-Delta too. If you are
in doubt check the list of goodies that came to
the Niger-Delta and see if Amaechi was not right
to rescind that selfish decision.
1) 80% of ex-militants who benefitted from the
post-amnesty schemes were ethnic Izon.

2) The Minister of Niger-Delta affairs were held
by Ijaws intermitently from the time it was
created till the defeat of GEJ. First was Godsday
Orubebe an Ijaw from Delta before the baton
was handed to Kingsley Kuku, another Ijaw from
Ondo.

3) The Minister of Petroleum throughout the
tenure of GEJ was an Ijaw from Bayelsa in the
person of Mrs Alison Deziani Madueke.

4) The DG NIMASA Akpobokelemi was Ijaw from
Delta.

5) Among the (3) three new federal refineries
appropriated to be established by GEJ, the slot
of the SE/SS was allotted to Bayelsa state. The
other two were sited in Lagos and Kogi.

6) The federal government sponsored deep
seaport for the South-South was sited in
Bayelsa.

7) The maritime university, another white
elephant project was again approved by NIMASA
to be established in Gbaramatu Ijaw community
of Delta state.

Like seriously are you trying to tell me we didn't have other sets of criminals from the East during the Era of Anini & co right? Clap for yourself. Have you ever heard of the name Fred Ajuda?

You wrote about Edo girls prostitution, fyi igbo girls are also into prostitution big time. And it's also on records that your igbo women were also involved in exporting girls to Italy and other parts of the world. Aren't you ashamed that your people are hugely involved in Child slavery and trafficking?

Besides I think Igbos have the highest numbers of prostitutes in Nigeria because I don't understand why young igbo girls will sleep with men just to get pregnant and sell of the babies?

Are you sure you weren't hallucinating about Edo State been the headquarters of witches and cultisim? Please remind the world where Okija Shrine is located again? Or you think we have forgotten about Okija Shrines and your evil forests?

You listed Gabriel Igbinidion as a 419er and I really do think that's the height of stupidity. If chief Gabriel Igbinedion was a 419er that means late Ojukwu and his father were 419ers too.
Does the name Ade Bendel sound Edo to you or are you just been plain s tupidd?
Enahi, good one for standing by your people even though you knew my argument is laden with much facts. You can now see that Edos were the originators of virtually most of the nonsense some Igbos exported to the east.
So, we are even now. And yes, when next you go about chanting your usual 'We South-South' only limit the agitation to your area, any attempt to cajole us into that facade shall be fiercely resisted. We've said it time's without number that we have one destiny with the South-East Igbos and anywhere they go, that surely is where we shall be. And I expect you Edos to respect that decision.

Lol making impact in what aspect? I will surprise you Igbos very soon with a thread about Edo Youthes.
Edo youths don't do rituals or cocaine like you Igbos do,they work hard for their money
. They are not greedy neither do they kill their parents, wives or kids to get wealth.
If I hear? It's on record that Edo youths were the first in Nigeria to introduce the lazy concept of making fraudulent money in the psyche of our youths.
Edos were the first to introduce criminal elements into the society. Who remembers Shina Rambo, Anini, Monday Osunbor and other notorious criminals of yore.

International cocaine smuggling started from Edo, Ogedengbe was the first Nigerian to be arrested for cocaine related charges.

The first set of 419ners of Nigerian origin were Edos. The likes of Ade Bendel, Chief Gabriel Igbenedion and many others.

Edos introduced international prostitution into the country. It's on record that the first exporters of prostitutes to Italy, Spain and France were Bini girls who used their Catholic connection to soil the image of the country in Europe.

The headquaters of cultism in Nigeria is indisputably Benin. Aiye and Eye are good examples.

International flying witches had its root from Edoland. The highest conflagration of witches and wizards in Nigeria commune in Benin.

Do you people think or do just open your mouth and utter rubbish? Who said Washington DC is poor? Why are you comparing Washington DC (which is NOT a state) with states that have MULTIPLE cities bigger than it? How many cities have you lived in to make a determination that DC is poor? Where in DC, NY and Texas have you been to conclude that DC isn't as prosperous as other states? You think DC is a poor state like Abuja is? Please stop making references when you know nothing about it.

To correct you, DC is NOT a state but a federal district (more like a city) but under federal control. DC does not operate like you state does, it don't have a state assembly and still relies on Congress for budgetary approval. Instead of Congress, the city has a council (about 12 council member) seating on a board, chaired by a Mayor (just like in a city). To think you said DC is poor is the height of absurdness. Washington DC still remains the top tourist city in the U.S. because of federal activities. If you're looking to explore Art and History Museums and several hundreds of other bldg, it's in DC. I don't want to delve into anymore details, and if you want FACTS about DC, I will give it to you but please, refrain from calling DC a poor city or comparing it to large states.

The truth is that there is no single Ijaw in Rivers State. Riverine parts of Rivers State consist of Obollo(Akwa/Cross), Igbo, Ijaw, Edo people mixed disproportionately. They all found distinct ethnic groups of Okrika, Kalabari, Andoni, Opobo, Ibani, "Engenni", Abua, Odual, Degema. You can check up on UN ethnologue report on Nigeria. Ijaws are found in Bayelsa and Delta States however Kalabari, Okrika and Ibani are directly linked with Ijaws but still very distinct.
