Kaita receives death threats Midfielder Sani Kaita has confirmed that he received death threats following Nigeria's 2-1 defeat by Greece in a World Cup Group B game last Thursday. The Super Eagles were leading 1-0 when Kaita petulantly kicked out at Greek defender Vasileios Torosidis on the touchline, earning himself a straight red. Nigeria cracked after that, giving up their lead and then conceding a second goal to lose the game, and leave their World Cup hopes hanging by a thread. Kaita's Facebook fan page was immediately inundated with tens of hate messages, including some that called for him to be killed, or to commit suicide. Kaita admitted that he had also received some messages via email. ''Yes, I have received some threats to my life,'' he told the German media. ''They were sent to my email but I'm not disturbed about that because as a Muslim, only God decides who lives and who dies. ''Everything on this earth is in God's hands, whether it is your life or whatever and unless God allows it, no one has the power to kill me. ''Only God knows what will happen tomorrow. He holds our destiny. That is what my religion teaches me.'' Kaita admitted to having sleepless nights after his dismissal against Greece. ''I cannot stop apologising to all Nigerians for making this costly mistake,'' said the 24-year-old. ''I couldn't sleep thinking about what my action has cost my country, but I hope we will win our next game (against South Korea) and qualify for the next round, where I hope to redeem my image with a good performance. ''I promise to put my life down on the pitch to ensure we go very far in this competition. ''And I promise that what happened will never happen again.'' http://www.supersport.com/football/nigeria/news/100619/Kaita_receives_death_threats |
whatever anybody says, Dora has honourably written her name in our golden sand of history by taking the historic move 2challenge the vampires/cabals tormenting us, headlong ,even at the risk of her live. what she needs is commendation coz her bold move was the turning point in the ya'adua illness saga. and Kanti Bello's questions 2 say the least were puerile and his action amounted to trivialising such important national assignment of screening ministerial nominees. our senators shul learn to address issues of dev instead of dissipating their energy on trying to achieve personal vendetta. |
Meldrick:Meldrick u're absolutely correct. This zoning and federal character nonsense have accounted for our underdevelopment coz we often end up wit round pegs in squared holes. even if they are all frm one area in Anambra state, are the people of Anambra complaining? it's high time we stoped this sacrifice of merit and performance on the alter of fair representation.America is where they are 2day coz leaders emerge on the strength of what they can offer rather than on where they come from or what faith or religion they belong to; Obama is a classical example. And why are people saying Dora will still appear 2mrw, it's like i heared the senate president told her 2take her bow and leave. I am proud of her- she was composed, cool, calm and collected even in the face of unecessary antagonism of Kanti Bello against her.The cabals, which Sen Kanti is obviously a member, will not succeed in stoping her re-appointment.They should go and hide their heads in shame for underestimating the collective will and intelligence of naija. naija is not katsina, where they had their way for 8 years. |
hope he will not recyle these old cargoes.we need fresh bloods as promised |
what is happening is a systematic execution of Islamic agenda to islamise Naija. the earlier we realise this axiom the better for us the christians |
The time 2divide this country is ripe. it's the surest solutn 2d inexplicable barbarism of these nothern muslim terrorist. when d country is divided we go c how al-qaeda handout go sustain dem. bastards. ![]() |
dayokanu:I agree with u absolutely. Islam is terror- actions speak louder than voice |
interesting |
this statement by d army confirms they failed woefully to respond to tip off given them, because there was no where they deny being informed by d governor. This is tragic. This is another evidence that Nigeria is a failed state where Hobbs state of nature reigns supreme. |
why on earth are we deviating frm d issue at hand here?.when will we stop playing ethnicity and tribalism on issues call 4sober reflectn. It's a shame ![]() |
saw the appalling pictures short while ago on chahnnels Tv and now on Sunnewsonline. It is incomprehensible that a human being can do this to animals not to talk of fellow human beings. in fact am short of words 2express how i feel n i doubt if i can sleep dis nyt. it's sad and unbelievable that this can happen in this age. ![]() |
is this forum not meant 4naija? what are Ghanaians doing on it- using d privilege to deride us coz we lost a match 2dem. moderator take note pls. |
H202 be articulate and empirical in ur argument; give example of any organised terror act committed by any of the so called christian extremists. the truth is dat, globally, on daily basis, Islamic fundamentalists kill innocent and defenceless civilians in d name of one misguided religious philosophy. Enof of dis senseless bloodletting; now who can fault the US 4including Nigeria on their Security watch list because d primeval tendencies of these mentally deranged almajiris in the north. ![]() |
1. Pretense 2. Loquaciousness 3. Poor hygiene e.g Body odour, mouth odour n keepn her environ unkempt 4. Materialism 5. Bad English 6. Overbearing attitude |
early marriage is good but d thought of that should not make ppl rush into it without adequate preparation coz it isn't bed of roses. N101's contribution is very instructive. |
good policy. But i hope it will not fail like d National I.D card scheme.policy making isn't our problem in dis country but implementation. |
pls stop blaming America for ordering its citizens 2leave northen Naija. That's expected of any responsible govt. |
DOAweb:you are not d only one vindicated. History is replete with many re- known patriots who knew d absurdity called Nigeria was and is still not feasible or working, hence, d urgent need for its proper re-organisation e.g Obafemi Awolowo ,who once posited that "Nigeria is a mere geographical expression"; ojukwu, who proferred confederation as a solution to d absurdity craeted by d colonialist and its attendant killing and subjugation of others by d Nothern cabals; Gideon Orkar, who during his failed coup, expunged some extreme Nothern states as a solutn; he's indeed vindicated 2day as these deleted states are notorious 4 most of these vicious religious crises we contend with 2day; the USA report that Nigeria will disintegrate in 2015; they are all vindicated. These fake marriage is surely doom for divorce in no distant time, moreso as d south is more united 2day than ever and d increasingly obvious fact that d North's religious extrememism and primeval idiosyncracies in this 21st Century is retarding d progress of d nation generally. |
justfash50:pls without sounding immodest, i think u nid 2b more articulate in making ur points. If d Almajiris and Maitasines are not Muslims, who are they; certainly not n can never b Christians. This is because Christianity does not have a place 4such miscreants using religion to perpetrate evil against fellow human being. Again, d incessant senseless killings of innocent people by these Islamic terrorist cannot be attributed 2poverty or lack of job anymore as d bastard, Umar Farouk, act recently has rendered this line of arguement redundant;the problem lies in d doctrines and philosophy of Islam, which promise reward 4those who kill in d name of d religion- nonsense. If d interpretation of d Quaran is false as u claim then d wise thing is 4 u 2 do d right interpraetation. It is not enof 4u 2just dismiss his objective n correct interpretation as false. My poser 4u Muslims is why can't u pple pause 4 once 2 analyse d fact dat if u say all muslims are not terrorist, why is it dat virtually all, if not all terrorist atrocities against defenceless and innocent civilians are perpetrated by muslims? Shame on u |
mekusxxx:what i need is d name of d Newspaper and date from which u got d scanned material u posted initially so i could obtain a copy here. It seems 2b Punch Newspaper but i don't know d date of publication.Thanx a million; i'v really got a lot of useful info frm ur postings so far. |
beaf, Am relatively new 2dis forum, but i must confess ur contributions rank among d most intelligent and well thought out i'v read so far. there is no denying d fact that d chap's extremism didn't surface overnyt; it is a function of his upbringing/indoctrination, which is typified in form of patent hatred northern muslims imbibe and habour about Christians generally n USA in particular; which they see as d standard bearer of christian interest globally. I live in d north, so i know what am saying here. And to say d least, d statement frm d family is vague and ambiguous as there is no trajectory between its content and d initial claim of d family dat they earlier reported their child was radicalised. Well, thnk God d case is not bn tried in Nigeria, otherwise d next we will hear wul b dat d criminal was innocent afterall. Those praising d family should not rush in2 conclusion coz frm all indications there is more to this 'drama' than meets d eye; d truth will surely come out sooner than later. |
