for aunt Nnenna

I picked up my pencil to write but know not what to write
When I was told, I replied that you were sleeping
Early the next morning, I came where they laid you and asked God for your life
In retrospect, I realize that then was one occasion that God did not answer me
“Peace… Hush! Hush!! …she’s resting” I heard
If you could have been won back by a battle, I would have led the warriors
But my tears will not forever flow
For I know you now rest with my Saviour, in Elysium

09/07 will be evergreen

Adieu, Eche here, a candle for you,
i'm mot marrying her 4 her looks.
good to know this. that at the minimum removes infatuation from the picture. depending on how long you two have been together, you should be able to tell if her character is manageable. getting maternal consent will be easier if you talk with some of your maternal aunties close to your mother. they should be the intermediary. all the best.

There was this proverb in Yoruba that was translated to me to mean:
Some one you can't deal with yourself, you send God after him

Does anyone know the original proverb in Yoruba?

Guys join me in celebrating the literary icon - Prof. Chinua Achebe - as "Things Fall Apart" marks its golden jubilee. He has been a source of inspiration to wannabees like my humble self. Watch out for the novel in Igbo - Ihe Aghasaa
