If you truly sent this to your father then I'm not sorry to say you are very stupìd. Are you aware that you threatened to kill him from all that you sent? At 28 years of age you are still blaming him for your woes. Why didn't you finish school? Did you drop out or not, yes or no?

Even if he is the worst father in the world (which he is not), he deserves some respect and more importantly, he has his own life to leave.

Idiot!
Not much point in trying to reason with a thug.

If @op really is the 28 year old son in question, it’s amazing he didn’t feel a shred of embarrassment posting that trash.

Really, what’s surprising about expecting lies from a guy who insists on getting sex as his payment from a married women. I would bet he’d totally lie like crazy so please y’all cut the judgment.
Sounds like he’s got a terrible crush on her.

Would be interesting to read his side of the story though.
TravelRe: The Adventures Of A New UK Migrant by EfemenaXY: 8:38am On Jul 29, 2018
UKmigrant:
Some things are beginning to come to light to me in my few months of being here. As a Nigerian, most people (other immigrants) think they are better than you. Ghanaians, Zimbabweans, Asians all think they are better than you. You only need to have deep interaction with people around for you to know how condescending they could be. Some Nigerians who were born here or who have been here longer also sort of think they are better people, you are even more likely to have problems with these ones than other immigrants. This thing weak me o grin
Depends on where you work, the sort of people you work with, and how you present yourself to them.

One thing I know for sure is that in the highly professional work place, respect is earned. You get it even more if you demonstrate (without an attitude) that you know your stuff and are willing to help out.

Been here for just over 20 years and with time you learn a lot....through making your own mistakes, observing what happens around you, etc. But that’s life isn’t it?

How’s your savings plan coming along? And how’ve you found the heatwave over the last few weeks? cheesy

After traveling for a very long time, I paid my dad a visit recently and was surprised to still find these old records in his room. These stuffs really took me down memory lane.

Still remember back then in the late 70's and early 80's when we used to attend birthday parties as kids and to know that the songs we danced to actually came from these old records played from old stereo players.

I remember Oriental Brothers of Africa, Johnny Nash, Bongos Ikwe, I-Roy and U-Roy from Jamaica, Edna Evi Ogoli, The New Edition (can't forget 'Candy Girl' and 'Cool It Down'), The Mandators, Isaac Black and many more. Memories!!!

I read somewhere that with proper linguistics investigation, a lot of history can be unearthed about a people’s tribe, migration, etc

Now this is something I definitely would be interested in smiley

FamilyRe: .MANMEN by EfemenaXY: 11:12am On Jul 08, 2018
@op.

Gambling is addictive and once you’ve formed the habit, like any addiction, is hard to break.

You obviously need counselling but can you even afford such services?

I think you’ve reached the stage where you do need some had knocks (not literally). You gamble the way you do because it’s not your money. It’s always been handed over to you on a plate.

Until you sweat (and I mean really sweat) and toil for every Kobo that comes your way, you’ll never appreciate the value of money.

You mentioned your mates have long graduated from university. So you must be 24 / 25 years old or more. You’re no longer a child but an adult, so you need to start taking some responsibility for yourself. Start by moving out of the family home. Look for your own place e.g. a face-me-I-face-you sort of accommodation. Forget about uni and go get yourself a job - and before you say there aren’t any jobs out there, there are. You can work as a labourer on building sites, be a market wheelbarrow pusher, be a pit latrine toilet cleaner, etc.

The point is you need hard grafting work where you scratch very hard for every Kobo to keep a roof over your head and food in your belly. You need to hit rock bottom in order to rise up.

Right now your family and friends are fuelling your addiction by providing your basic needs (food, clothing, shelter). You haven’t suffered. Not really.

As long as they keep giving you money, it’s all easy-come-easy-go for you.

Marriage.

It can be as beautiful or as hellish as one wants it to be. Either way, it’s hard work.

Having said that, it’s lovely seeing couples who’ve stayed the course and are still going strong despite the challenges. A real source of inspiration.

FamilyRe: How to handle finances in Marriage by EfemenaXY: 7:17pm On Jun 13, 2018
@op nice write up especially for those intending to wed / new starters. Not many newly weds knew these in my time.

I don’t agree with your 2nd point though because there are situations where the woman earns way more than the man e.g 90% more.

Does this mean that in order for the man to be a real man, he must spend 70-80% of his meagre pay footing the bills? I don’t think so.
