okotv: Definitely not in Nigeria... nothing like that exists. When I wanted to join the armed forces at 20 some years back, they still requested for parental agreement.... Okay, so what then is the legal age at which one is considered an adult in Nigeria? 30? And at what age is one able to vote? |

okotv: the family structure among the black race is flawed. Anyone who births a Child has the full responsibility to cater for their own kids. Its not a privilege on the part of the child but a right. If you aren't ready to cater for a kid, don't birth one.
Now to the matter, hustle hard and one day it would pay. Just be prepared to leave home cause it might never end. From his write up, his mother appears to be the one Training and bringing up the kids alone while the father seems to be a “hands off dad”. Yet the mother is the one bearing the brunt of his insults. |

Family › Re: Marriage: A Way For Most Nigerian Women To Escape Poverty? by EfemenaXY: 9:59pm On Dec 29, 2017 |
eyinjuege: Its a natural need of humans to want to build a family. In Nigeria, its worse as society expects you to do the needful immediately you graduate from school or even marry in school as a woman. As a man, you go for a woman you graduated 5-10 years ahead of her and you propose for whatever reason as soon as you see she's graduating from the school. You then have the effontery to call her parents paupers. Why couldn't you wait for her to find her foot as you were able to years after graduating? Or better still, why couldn't you go for the women closer to your age group who also graduated same time you did? @op kindly respond to these points. This should be interesting. |

A vulnerable woman taken advantage of by a randy īdīōt and all the onlookers could do was to pour muddy water on her and the fööl?
I weep for Nigeria’s non-existent health care and failing judicial/ justice system. |

Family › Re: Is Love Enough Reason For Marriage? by EfemenaXY: 8:58pm On Dec 29, 2017 |
Blazing8: What he means is that you should marry for the things that are within and not the things that are on the surface (I.e beauty ) , because the things on the surface would eventually wither away... this is the reason for many divorce, people are carried away by the outward appearance and forget that time reveals the true nature of a person... I don’t think so. Love is not something “on the surface that will eventually wither away...” and “love” is the @op’s bone of contention here, hence his substituting love for character and attitude which incidentally are out of context with respect to his write up. |
Family › Re: Is Love Enough Reason For Marriage? by EfemenaXY: 7:40pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
Marry for attitude and character not just love, and I am sure you will be having a "happily ever after" marriage. Next i'd be talking on" WHY LOVE DIES".[/quote]Really?
Explain the bolded pls. |
