double0seven:sir, good news could be so thrilling even if it appears as a dream...My response to that news shows that i love it when people love eachother despite their differences...So whether the news is factual or not, i choose to believe the best for Pastor Chris and Anita! |
Apparently some on this forum have opinions on what could be done to stem the crisis while the less educated lot spout name calling and gibberish just to be heard...To the bright minded, i suggest it is not enough to air opinions on nairaland rather it is pertinent to; get facts, construct your opinions into a formal theory, validate them with verifiable facts, sum up your efforts in a research paper and submit it to the CBN's Journal of Applied Statistics (JAS). That way it goes on the record that you lent your voice as an unsolicited adviser! This is the era when we need to justify the BSc, MSc and PhD's that we claim we have and make our universities worthy of existence! Now is the time for the educated to think Nigeria out of the doldrums and not just give in to ignoble yet rambunctious rants often displayed on this forum by those who claim to be educated! |
From the highly sophisticated grammatical bile in the words of the commenters prior to me i can glean that if Nigeria splits today the so called republics angling for secession will literally obliterate themselves to oblivion...Here are Niger Deltans spouting a truck load of venom on eachother when one could easily tolerate the other in the spirit of brotherhood! Please brothers and sisters lets stop the hate! Our collective enemy are the elite. They are Yorubas, Hausas, Igbos, Niger Deltans and Fulanis. Their religious and ethnic affiliations are subservient to their elitist interests but they use religion and ethnicity to divide us, make us attack eachother, help them create territorial influence and rule us with the might of financial and political power. I am Yoruba, my mom is from Owerri and my fiance is an Ika lady from Delta State, if we split and we go our separate ways then fellows like me would be doomed to lose great treasures that no amount of money can buy! I expect to be attacked for saying this...but I'd rather love than hate... |
some people commenting in this thread make satan look like a saint...Pastors are humans susceptible to error. Moses got angry, Joshua was hasty in judgment, Samuel was judged carnally, David was selfish, Isaiah had sinful lips, Jeremiah feared the people, Jonah was unforgiving, Elisha regarded not authority, Elijah granted himself exclusivity, Samson belittled God's grace, Jehu did not purge Israel of Idols, Solomon fell for the trap as Adam did, Enoch for the first 65 years of his life didnt walk with God, Peter was timid, arrogance grew in Paul, Christ's disciples abandoned Christ, Barnabas parted ways with Paul and the Corinthian church was divided by their allegiance to Peter, Paul and Apollos...Christians are saints because they are set apart by repentance and faith in God but they require perfecting and that's why God prepared Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists, Apostles and Prophets! Pastors Chris and Anita may have fallen out of line but the LORD has brought them back to the unity of faith they once had...anyone unhappy with this is threathening the LORD, God of Marriages...and who can battle with the LORD? May the LORD bless their reunion and all the plans of darkness against Pastor Chris and Anita are paralysed and destroyed in Jesus name, Amen. |
Many of the people commenting are literal illiterates as far as economic issues are concerned and they are here only to cast aspersions on the president (I suspect they do the same to their parents at home) Buhari inherited an economy with severe structural problems like: high level of involuntary and underemployment unemployment, infrastructural decay, high dependence on oil revenue, high primary export concentration, deleterious bureaucratic corruption, high import dependence (for both strategic inputs and consumables), high crime rate and high cost of doing business...If to these problems we add the crash in oil prices then a huge problem emanates! Some thinkers argued for a flexible exchange rate regime but failed to acknowledge the structural deficits present in the country. The structural problems highlighted above will make a free floating exchange rate regime will make imports costlier and deplete welfare by raising the cost of living, while the resulting exchange rate depreciation is expected to engender a inflow of net foreign assets as stipulated by the uncovered interest rate parity rule but this may not be realized as the erroded investor confidence will deter investors from reaping what appears to be interest rate differentials. Hence the needed foreign exchange will not flow in. More so, a recent paper discovered from simulations that a floating exchange rate regime will harm the agricultural sector and render the service sector unstable in the face of an exchange rate depreciation...I suspect the Buhari economists saw this coming and adviced counter measures. Considering that such adverse effects following a floating exchange rate regime will be bad for their image. But all Buhari did was to postpone the evil day because the fixed exchange rate stance was not sustainable given the structural issues stated earlier. Had the economy been diversified from oil, import substituting industries aggressively encouraged and infrastructural deficits addressed during the GEJ regime when oil prices were highest since 1971, Buhari wouldnt have been faced with the sorry options he is faced with now. Now that we must float the exchange rate we must expect the following: i. soaring commodity prices ii. volatile service output iii. accelerated depreciation (partly driven by speculators) iv. depleting welfare v. agricultural output decline (due to costlier imports of strategic inputs) v. foreign exchange shortage and its attendant effects on overseas education and medical trips vi. increased tendency for dollarization (due to the declining naira and changing portfolio mix in favor of foreign currency denominated assets) vii. increased prospects of remittances viii. inflationary tendencies ix. rising nominal interest rates x. slowing private investment xi. slowing credit to the private sector xii. intensified commercial bank allocation of funds away from real sector investment to financial sector investment xiii. increased incidence of poverty and crime xiv. sustained lopsided regional development across the country xv. increased uncertainty and risk How long it would take for the economy to heal itself by floating exchange rate is the subject of another research work but I certainly hope that by the time the economy heals fully we all won't be dead as once noted by Keynes...controls are needed to accelerate the healing process and whatever Buhari must do to stem this ugly crises must be done and done fast...Most Nigerians have studied and learnt impatience from the malevolent university, PDP for 16 years (enough period of time for most Nigerians to have bagged a BSc, MSc and PhD in impatience) and can't wait one more second to see change! So President Buhari, work now that it is day for the night comes when you cannot work! |
It's amazing how reason goes to the gallows when money changes hands but reason gets exonerated when the flood of money ceases...this is the Reuben Abati that could not own up to this statement during the past administration but now his analytical and journalistic prowess have awoken again from a very deep slumber... ...gifts, indeed, cloud righteous judgment... |
Norajones:Please hold the thunder, fire and brimestone...I just want to say you are pretty and that the problem with our country is not tribal and ethnic differences but elitist interests...I'm Yoruba and i dont hate the Igbos because if i do then i must start by hating my mom, who happens to be from Owerri, and hating my pretty female Igbo friends...The elite in this country are not ethnocentric, but they use ethnicity to divide and rule the uninformed lower class and get them to throw their weight behind ethnocentric causes... Orji Uzor Kalu, Olusegun Obasanjo, Atiku Abubakar...etc were once pals with converging interests and as long as their interests converge they'll be pals and they'll do anything including using ethnicity to fracture the unity of this country to maximize their selfish gains... Pretty lady, you are valuable, just as all other ethnic groups are...and together we make up for the individual weaknesses that we have as a people! Please embrace unity in diversity and fight elitist interests. One love! |
jayzblogng:Bros ur blood dey hot ohh! Abi yu b Niger Delta Avengers squadron commander? People are bombing their own land. I think Buhari would tactically let the bombings continue so that the Niger Delta can be obliterated before the end of his tenure...who knows if this is a strategy by the APC themselves to render the oil rich Delta an unsafe destination for investors and hence shift these investors to other oil rich regions...and by so doing diversifying the source of oil revenues and reducing the susceptibility of the country to vandals...Hmmmm what a theory! Anyways Niger Delta Revengers! Bombs away!!...but try my advice and get a nuke (the US could help) and get this done and over with... |
adenine02:If pastors were worshipped, they why was he at the risk of being lynched even at the King's palace...cure your stereotype before it drains the last vestiges reason you have left! |
Personally, I would take the Niger Delta Avengers serious when they use a nuclear weapon instead of pinching pipelines with fire crackers...A neutron bomb would be a good start... |
i believe you need someone on ground in to administer questionnaires and obtain responses from car owners on their experiences during traffic. I could design a simple mathematical model to justify the inclusion of basic variables that measure the socio-economic costs of traffic, with traffic measured by the perceived amount of time spent on the road stationary. The model will be based on simple constraint optimization and a system of equations can be designed. The questionnaire sample can be designed and administered in certain regions of Abuja (by my hired personel on ground) and an analysis of the data can be conducted to quantify the socio-economic costs of traffic. Though i am not resident in Abuja, i have people there who can administer the questionaire on my behalf and send the coded data in .xlsx format over to me for analysis with either Eviews 7 or SPSS! |
i beg to differ! Religion is not the biggest problem. It is not a problem at all. Religion is more or less a practice of devotion to a supreme being, the west practices it, the east practices it, Africa practices it, we all practice it...even atheists practice it (because in the world of an athiest science, humanity, the cosmos are accorded God status). Religion is not the problem. Rather the problem is an inherent trait of mankind which is called SELF INTEREST! Adam Smith, the Father of classical economics opined "It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer,or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest." this shows that self interest is at the base of economics, the economy and indeed many a society...However even as self interest has resulted in giant leaps in technology and productivity, self interest is the reason mankind has had wars, famine, disease, genocide, corruption, financial system collapse, poverty, income inequality, social exclusion, marginalization, pollution, colonialism, imperialism, economic dependence, infrastructural collapse, prostitution, unemployment, insurgency, insecurity and deterioration of moral standards... Self interest was here in Africa before Christianity or Islam came and self interest has survived the onslaught of religion. So though there are millions of Christians, self interest still rules, and though there are millions of Muslims, self interest still rules... Christians aren't selfless like Christ who gave his life to redeem others and so are many Muslims...The day altruism buries individualism and benevolence rules over selfishness will be the day that earth will become paradise...but selfishness is a natural trait exhibited by man since birth, a trait that reflects even in what appears to be acts of kindness! The biggest and the source of all problems is SELF INTEREST, VESTED INTEREST, ME-MYSELF-AND-I SYNDROME, SELFISHNESS, SELF IDOLATRY, SELF EXAULTATION, SELF GRATIFICATION, SELF MAGNIFICATION, NA-ME-HOLY-PASS SYNDROME, NOTICE-ME-SYNDROME, NA-ONLY-ME SYNDROME...at the expense of other people! |
Everybody don turn marriage specialist! I believe that "in every kid is an adult and in every adult there is a kid"! People here dismiss childish acts as means of conflict resolution but they have forgotten that even the Father God will maintain silence and suspend communication if He is offended by a loved one (Isaiah59:1-2)... Ladies here will agree that when they are offended by someone so dear to their hearts they naturally start by sulking and hoping in their hearts that the offender's attention is drawn to the offence and a heart felt apology followed with proper restitution is made without a formal complaint being expressed by the offended party... In romantic relationships communication becomes less verbal and more gestural. I frown at what my woman says and instantly she knows she has said something wrong and she apologizes or i'm too busy to chat with her and she gives me short, cold and snappy responses to my statements then i know she's unhappy so i get #1000 airtime and spend it all calling her to apologize and gist with her till she's happy again... Love only thrives in the innocence of childish hearts and in the wisdom of the adult minds... but unfortunately couples have the foolish minds of children and stone cold hearts of adults and that's why divorces are everywhere...(1Cor14:20) |
If a man gets violent its one of two things, it's either he has a beastly trait or he is provoked (even women too are faced with these options too)...if he has a beastly trait, then the wife has to be a beast too to accept as a beast as a hubby and hence she denies herself the right to evade domestic violence but if he is provoked and he is provoked by the wife she has literally purchased domestic violence and the same happens with wives... women can be subtly violent too in response to provocation or due to her beastly traits. A wife that deliberately fills the hubby's food with spices, insults the hubby, abandons the home without notice, hurls things at the man, tarnishes his image before friends and family, the list goes on and all these are violence of sorts... we all need to be God-like. God doesn't provoke others to their hurt and he doesn't get provoked easily... violence between couples is not godly irrespective of the source of violence, whether it is the man or the wife! |
bronzegoddess:Oh Genius! My apologies... |
When the plunging and pounding was sweet you didnt remember God and i can guess you even turned the other way when preachers spoke to you to repent...Now that HIV is playing with your mind, you remember God...You better go for the test and face the consequences! "Stolen waters are sweet...but her ways are those that lead to hell" |
I am jealous and i wished i lived in that world, the world of the supernatural, talking to God and Him talking back to me...but my pride, lack of control and materialism are getting in the way! As the LORD pitied you and gave you such an experience, may he pity me too and help me rise above myself to be like his Son, Yeshua! Amen and amen. |
...respect your superiors, apologize even when you've done no wrong, listen and watch 99% of the time but talk 1% of the time, fast and pray before carrying out your activities, take authority on demons before conducting your activities and sanctify your environment with the blood of Jesus...and one more thing love your enemies but wrestle with the adversaries of darkness...victory is yours, God bless you. Amen. |
Gender equality is tantamount to "genderized" stupidity! The principles of equilibrium maintains that for stability to hold the opposing forces of nature must be such that deviations from equilibrium results in excesses that restore equilibrium...However if these forces are "equal" equilibrium may cease to exist and if it does stability is not guaranteed and chaos results...Instead of gender equality i advocate gender empowerment. Women should be empowered to play the special roles that makes the society functiona instead on angling to play the roles assigned to the men. I theorize that gender equality, enforced in its strict sense, could be the end of marriages. If men could play women's roles and vice versa why would marriages be necessary since the only thing that would be lacking would be sexual satisfaction and thanks to the prostitute and toy boy industry lifetime sexual satisfaction is cheaper than a wedding or a marriage... Gender equality is a preposterous construct of minds that are bereft of harmony, stability and sound conscience! |
Purerealist: Purerealist: Purerealist:sir i mean no offense but i believe you understand English language. Is a person that is near death actually dead? You should know that God often has mercy on some so that they can go back and warn the world - he has mercy on whom he'll be merciful to (Exodus33:19). A sinner who dies at his appointed time will await judgment in Hell if he finds no mercy in God's sight but a man that got mercy from God has his appointed date of death postponed - much like King Hezekiah (2Kings20:5-6). Hell is not a place of judgment it is a waiting place for the damned awaiting judgment. The judgment the scriptures talk about is the white throne judgment which will take place at the end of time and punishment for the damned will commence in the lake of fire and not hell fire (Rev 20:11-15).These are two different places. The rich man in Hell is awaiting judgment, the white throne judgment, and Lazarus then wasn't in Heaven he was in Abraham's bosom which is a compartment of Hell as shown earlier (Luke16:22, Ephesians4:9, 1Peter3:18-19). I'v been a student of Christian eschatology and i by the inspiration of God's Holy Spirit have been able to piece together the bits and pieces of the end...so do your study as well and do it well! |
I dont mean to offend you but i'd like to ask do you know who this "elevated spirit being is"? Do you know the source of energy that is manifesting in you? Do you know how compatible this elevated spirit is with Jesus Christ? Concerning the last question, i know some may label me a bigot, fanatic or a religious stooge but science encourages the consideration of plausible explanations to observed phenomena and with this in mind I say read: 1John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 1John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Now if these words are true, then with them you can categorize the spirit(s) that visit you and the source of that energy! When your manifestations show up, ask it, they hear you, DID JESUS CHRIST COME IN FLESH AND IS HE THE SON OF GOD? If they are silent ask the same question and demand an answer in the name of Jesus Christ! If Jesus is nothing, and a nobody, then the spirits will not be compelled to respond in any manner but if otherwise they'll respond. Judge their response in the light of the verses above...spirits exist in dimensions outside ours so there is often information asymmetry which is often not to our advantage! So beware the spirits you relate with! Test them all. |
nobody said immediately after death is judgement...the time frame between death and judgement is not specified but it is certain that it is APPOINTED unto man to die once and after that death judgement! For your information, Jesus went toHell, the lower regions of the earth (Eph 4:9) to declare the saints free (Matt 27:52)...Hell is real and has compartments! A part of it burns (Matt5:22), a part is filled with darkness (2Peter2:24), a part was the waiting place of the saints before Christ's resurrection (luke16:22) and another is the kingdom of demons (Matt16:18)! |
please answer these questions: 1. Is the ancestral serpent from eternity to eternity? 2. If the answer to 1. is no then who created the ancestral serpent? 3. if the ancestral serpent was created by God and will be destroyed in the end, Does God create a thing to be evil only to destroy it later? |
na wa o...some ppl just open their mouth and satan filled it...Was Paul a commissioner? Paul commissioned nothing. The name Christian was used by the citizens of Antioch to labelled the believers in Christ...Christ told Cephas that upom this rock will i build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it...Read the Bible without your blindfold of prejudice! |
Historical balderdash awash with hogwash...all that matters is a new creature... |
mile12crises:So a wife has a price in your land...the cheapness of a woman is not in the cost of her bride price but in the cheapness of her character! |
igivefuck4free:I am an African and my woman must be submissive but this does not make my woman a slave not worthy of attention...I will consult my wife on every decision. We have four eyes for a purpose, so that what i do not see, she will see it and be on the look out! If my wife has cogent reasons for not letting anyone stay in our home and her reasons are devoid of sentiment or bias and they are inspired of God then I would heed her words with dispatch! |
A German adventurer whose mummified body was discovered last weekend left a final emotional love note to his wife, it has been revealed. The mummified body of German sea captain Manfred Fritz Bajorat was found by two fishermen last weekend - just 50 miles from the Philippines. But a final note was discovered alongside Manfred’s body - in which he gave an emotional farewell to wife Claudia. He wrote: ‘Thirty years we’re been together on the same path. Then the power of the demons was stronger than the will to live.Manfred’s body was discovered seven years after he was last seen - and was discovered alongside the emotional note. It is believed that he was married to Claudia before he broke their union to go travelling. She died of cancer in 2010. It isn’t known what caused Manfred’s death - but a heart attack is believed to be one of the likely possibilities. source: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/mummified-german-sea-captain-left-emotional-love-095842186.html ARE DEMONS THIS REAL AND POWERFUL OR WAS THE GERMAN BEING METAPHORICAL!? |
lwisee:You are reaping the consequences of 16 years of stealing, pillaging, corruption, mono-economy, lopsided current account, fiscal imbalance, structural weaknesses, socio-economic instability and utter disregard for the sanctity of life...and here you are chiding a man that attempts to go against the tide...If GEJ remained in power, you will not only be complaining of power outage, rising food prices and exchange depreciation...your country would have been sold off to neighboring Ghana! |
Weah96:Well if these pastors have become easy and resourceful simply because dignity is not burden then my question is that why are people with dignity, high caliber education and substantial exposure thronging the churches men of God in this category you have mentioned? I do not allude to the use of popular acceptance as a measure of originality, sincerity of purpose and godliness but I am simply stating that observations should not be brushed off by the broom of prejudice or sentiments rather observations are to be investigated! Many of the persons criticizing and making statements against these so called men of God have not taken time to investigate the veracity of their claims they just judge by hearsay and are often subject to the herding effect... |
As una hala reach, call these so called men of God names reach, accuse their miraculous acts as stage managed...still their church dey full to overflowing! Dem sey TB Joshua, na cult member, na con man, na dis, na dat...still the man church dey full troway, oyibo even come take over...UNA NO DEY USE UNA BRAIN! Please leave this men of God alone if you do not understand what it is that they do...The end will reveal all that is hidden... |
The OP is subtly and deceptively persuasive but nevertheless contains implications that are wrong...Christians are those who believe Jesus and been baptized in the name of the Father, Son and the HolyGhost (Mark 16:15-16) and through this have attained eternal life but those who do not believe in the Son, Jesus Christ are CONDEMNED ALREADY and the scriptures are clear on this: John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Our flawed definition of love has beclouded many into thinking it means ABSOLUTE ASSOCIATION! Some confused Christians will say "love the homosexuals, let them practice what they do, let them be, let them worship with you as homosexuals, let them remain what they have chosen to be and let everyone be what he has chosen to be, do not make anyone look bad, rather condone and tolerate their badness and associate with them" and by these confused assertions they populate the church with people who seek their satisfaction as against the pleasure of God! Christ loved the world but hate their sin and came for the purpose of dealing with sin! The wages of sin is death! So whether you like it or not, if you sin, you will die. This is not the judgement of man but that of God himself. So warning a sinner that if he continues in sin he will die does not amount to judging him rather it amounts to doing the bidding of God himself as dictated to Ezekiel in Ezekiel 3:18. So to love a sinner means, praying for him to change his ways, it means to warn the sinner of his impending destruction, it means to criticize his failure that is not favored by God, it means to paralyze the sinner with prayers when his energy is biased towards committing sin and it means to encourage the converted sinner with prayers that strengthen him in the faith... To love, is to be like God for God is love 1 John 4:7-8 and does God condone our differences particularly when they are not in alignment with his will? Though God makes his benevolence come on the just and unjust (Matthew 5:45) yet he wants us all to be as perfect as he is (Matthew 5: 48), perfect in holiness, perfect in righteousness, perfect in power, perfect in grace, perfect in beauty, perfect in glory and perfect in love! To be a man of love is not to be a man of benevolent emotion or mere sacrifice but rather to be a man of God...for God is love! |
