RomanceRe: Why Are Nigerian Guys Intimidated By A Lady With A Car by Egbagirl(f): 3:01pm On Jul 19, 2012
I just asked an American friend of mine and he said that yea he would feel intimidated approaching a lady with a bigger and better car. So it might not be just a nigerian thing.
NYSCRe: What Soldier Men Do With Our Girls In Camp by Egbagirl(f): 3:57pm On Jul 18, 2012
"What soldier men DO to our girls..." it seems like it's a mutual thing going on here. I actually thought twas going to be a case of rape or whatever but the girl seems pretty happy so I take it to be a mutual agreement.

Christianity EtcRe: The Screwtape Letters By C.S.lewis. A Must Read. by Egbagirl(f): 1:26pm On Jul 18, 2012
Yea I know what you mean. It will certainly make a great movie. Although like you said, making it into a movie can take a lot away from the intensity of the book. A lot can be lost through "translation". I didnt even know there were plays. Well at least, that's a start.

Have you read any other books by C.S Lewis?
Christianity EtcRe: The Screwtape Letters By C.S.lewis. A Must Read. by Egbagirl(f): 11:06pm On Jul 17, 2012
I've had this book for about 3 years now and I havent gone past chapter 5. It;s like the devil really doesnt want me to read this book. I told myself that by force I must finish it this summer but the summer is almost over and here I havent even touched it.

Anyway, Yes I agree with you. It is indeed a very good read. It opens one's eyes to a lot. It's one of those books that will make you "wow! this is crazy" the whole time. I think this thread is going to make me pick up the book right now!

Looking forward to hearing what others have to say about the book.

FoodRe: Do U Know The History Of Jolof Is From Gambia. by Egbagirl(f): 2:48pm On Jul 12, 2012
obowunmi: Thought its Senegal ?!
obowunmi: Thought its Senegal ?!
Gambia is "inside" Senegal and they have the Wolof people there too. Na colonization break them so. So yea, Gambia/Senegal cause the wolof people are found in both countries.

Its actually called ceebu jen rouge (red rice and fish). There is also ceebu jen blanc (the white version). The way it is cooked is totally different from how we make our jollof. They have tons of veggies in them such as carrots, zuchini, garden egg, okra (all cooked in the sauce). The rice is steamed on top of the cooking sauce. When the sauce is ready, they take out the cooked veggies, fish and some of the suave, then add the rice to it and let it cook a lil. then they serve it in a large tray put the fish and veggies in the middle and pour some of the remaining sauce on top (not necessary though)

ediko5: Wat this thread means is dat 'Girls do not read educative materials' rada d spend most of their money buying SEXY MOVIES, LATEST FONES, LATEST FASHION OF KLOTHS, 75 Inches Of Brazilian Hair etc.
One problem with this thread is that it is such a generalization. How can you say Nigerian girls dont readhuh!!! Out of how many millions. The Nigerian girls I know read and read wide. Yal just need to get with the intelligent ones. It is also very possible to balance both fashion and books. Many Nigerian girls read.

I really dont get this thread. Is it about reading books or reading E-BOOKS? Y'al making seem like E-BOOKS are the ish. I mean what if they prefer buying hard copies? It would have been different if the question had been books in gen and not e-books. still smh.
