Dlyna: IF many blacks don't read don't you think there's a problem? The problem is the leaders right? Ok. Fine. Let's agree the problem is the leaders but please, answer this question: who voted them into power? Ok. They rigged elections bah? Fine. What are we doing to stand up for our rights? Nothing. We jus dey siddon dey fold our hand, dey wait, dey pray. Nah wetin fela talk again? Every day my people dey inside bus Every day my people dey inside bus Forty-nine sitting, ninety-nine standing Them go pack themselves in like sardine Them dey faint, them dey wake like cock Them go reach house, water no dey Them go reach bed, power no dey Them go reach road, go-slow go come Them go reach road, police go slap Them go reach road, army go whip Them go look pocket, money no dey Them go reach work, query ready Every day na the same thing Then he goes on to say My people self dey fear too much We fear for the thing we no see We fear for the air around us We fear to fight for freedom We fear to fight for liberty We fear to fight for justice We fear to fight for happiness We always get reason to fear We no want die We no want wound We no want quench We no want go I get one child Mama dey for house Papa dey for house I want build house I don build house I no want quench I want enjoy I no want go Ah! So policeman go slap your face You no go talk Army man go whip your yansh You go dey look like donkey So please dont blame the "bad leaders". We the people sef, we bad. And when you say "that problem is bad leaders fix that problem and more than half our problem is solved", who is supposed to fix it?? Is it not the youth that are going to fix it? Ehn, so tell me if they do not read, how do you expect them to fix anything when they do not know anything? Funny enough, this should be the time when the youth should be reading the most. This is the time to change and fix things in the country. Read about your history, read about the world's history, see where we are coming from, read all these books to have a sound knowledge of this crazy world we live in. read books that will cause you to critically analyze issues. READ READ READ to gain knowledge, to stir up ideas. READ. Ever heard of "The boy who harnessed the wind"? He didnt just build the windmill by heart like that. NO. He READ and READ and READ! Look at where he is today. Not all the youths may be literate, but those that are literate should make an effort. Money to buy books? Borrow books. Let's see the interest first. There are many people who will gladly set up book clubs and what or lend you books. Let's not sit back and say it the bad leaders causing it. |
If this is true, then I say this is great news!!! He needs to buy more and compete with the G.Os of the big churches. I mean the jet looks really nice and I bet he couldn't resist!!! It doesnt really matter that hundreds of people are displaced and confused. Infact, he has done very well. |
But it's worth the read. Joined
Thanks for reading it and signing it too!!! Pls spread the word! Gracias! ![]() |

Hey everyone so I came across this link to a petition on facebook and I thought I'd share it. Let's sign it and spread the word. Be a part of the change that's happening. Here is the link to sign the petition: http://ofilispeaks.com/aluu4/ Here's an excerpt from the article: : Update: On October 22, Senator Uche Chukwumerijie of Abia State received the Draft Bill. Update: On October 18, Senator Magnus Abe of Rivers State received the Draft Bill. On October 5th, 2012, Chiadika Lordson, Kelechi Obuzor, Lloyd Toku and Tekena Erikena, all students at the University of Port-Harcourt, were falsely accused of theft and severely beaten and burnt to death as scores of Nigerians stood and watched. This scene Mob Justice has gradually become a normal way of life in Nigeria. As people/communities usurp the law and take matters into their own hands. Now we know that there are no dependable statistics or numbers regarding Mob Justice occurrences in Nigeria, but what we do know is that has been happening for years. And for years we have complained, we have cried and we have watched, but nothing has changed as Mob Justice still occurs with its perpetrators largely going unpunished. This is largely due to the fact that people have lost faith in a police force and judicial system that have been derailed by corruption, incompetence, and inadequate resources. But also exacerbating the matter is the absence and lack of recognition of Mob Justice (and its many variations) as a crime in our Federal Laws, most particularly our CRIMINAL CODE ACT, CAP C38 LFN 2004. An act which in its robust 145 page listing of criminal acts makes no mention or reference to Mob Justice…it covers Ritual Killings, Riots and even Counterfeit Stamps, but not Mob Justice. Nigeria is in dire need of a law. A law that punishes those that carry out extra-judiciary acts of Mob Justice on their fellow Nigerians, but more importantly a law that prosecutes those that stand and watch as these acts occur. Because those that stand and watch are the ones feeding the frenzy as they make it difficult for law enforcement agents to break up the Mob and restore peace. Now we can continue to do what we have done for years…but we know it will not solve the problem as it is yet to work. So now is the time to try something different to rally around the creation of a law that explicitly prohibits Mob Justice in Nigeria. Fortunately, there is a petition for an Aluu4 Mob Justice Prohibition Bill (read: Proposed Bill) to address this issue. We are asking for your support in making this Bill or a variation of the Bill an actual reality in our criminal code. By signing the petition to your right hand-side, you will be doing just this. Your petition will be emailed directly to several Nigerian Senators and House Representatives including Senator Magnus Abe of Rivers State and Hon Abike dabiri-Erewa. Our ultimate goal is to get at least 10,000 signatures/emails. To reach this goal, all you have to do is send this petition to your friends, post it on your blogs and share it on twitter or facebook. The more spread we get, the more impact we can make. Let’s do something different today and let’s honor the aluu victims by creating a lasting law in their name. So that we tell our children a different story about Nigeria, different from the ones echoed below… |
pweeryambre: Naturaly, a child stops peeing on himself around the age of 5, while some stop earlier, some do take longer and not totally dependant on how u train dem, BTW a child stil peeing at 15 definitely has a U.T problem, dat been said. Shaming a child in class is so wrong, while there r other better and friendly ways to correct him but sadly dat has been our way of life. If d child was a white mans child, or even a half cast, I m sure the teacher won't even bat an eye.(Africans and dia slave low esteem mentality)the cane is now being abused. Teachers are frustrated because they are not satisfied with their jobs, they are not paid well and in fact, many of them dont really want to be teachers. Now couple that with dealing w children. Isnt that disastrous? thats why you hears cases of teachers beating children to death. They take out their anger on these kids. It's no longer a form of correction but torture. I will still beat/spank my kids but in love and correction not the way these frustrated teachers are. Teachers need to be patient. Not everyone is qualified for this position and it just so happens that our country has churned out such unqualified educators. I've experienced teaching first hand and I can say that initially, I thought it was dumb to not beat kids but when I was in that position myself, i realized that there were other ways of correcting children. In Zimbabwe, you dont beat children (only in high school and its only the guys that can be caned by the headmaster himself or assistant headmaster, the girls are given manual labour to do or something else). There are other corrective methods that can work just as effectively. Also, haven taken psychology classes on this issue of behavior and what not, trust me, shaming isnt the best for children. |
Stupid man talking. Are Nigerians not one of the most hard working people around.WTF is wrong with this bastards who steal money and believe everybody is below them?
they might be hardworking but many people dont read books. SIMPLE. it's not just nigerians. call me silly but many black people in general (HUGE generalisation btw) dont read. "If you want to hide something from a black person, put it in a book" stereotypical but stereotypes are sometimes true to an extent. To be fair however, the world is shifting from reading books to reading blogs, etc so hey I dont blame them but there is still something about reading books that cannot be replaced. |
binger: am talking of lil girls 7-13ahhh i see. well, like i said before, i see no harm in them wearing a lil bit of jewellery. Earrings are not a prob as long as they are not overdoing it and bangles/bracelets maybe 1 or 2. There are grown females who dont wear jewellery and are still attractive. If you are trying to protect your lil girl from the preying eyes of men, then find another way. Unless the jewellery is too much, I dont see a problem with it. |
binger: ^^am nt saying wearing jewellery alone makes one prone to molestation.thats absurd...my point is,when lil girls wear such hoops and bangles and all that, there is a sort of attraction towards the opposite s3x,cos they begin to see her as a babe, sexually.of course,nt every guy.i mean the ones with their brain in their d1ck.thus randy/devilish men can take advantage of her. Biliv me,i knw guys more than u doso lets specify the age group here cause Im not digging what you saying. are you talking about lil girls like 2-9? or close to teenage years (i believe that should be bout 11 not 13 anyway). Oh and Im sure you know guys more than I do. I wont contest that ![]() |
binger: well,my argument isnt how precious the jewellery is,but the cons in wearing one at all.like i said b4,that look of innocence is gone 4rm dem and they are prone to molestation by randy menare you saying that young girls that wear jewellery are more prone to being molested by pedophiles?? I think not. Whether or not a girl wears jewellery, a man will still do what he so desires. I dont see the in wearing it at all. I mean earrings for one are usually worn by lil girls. The key is moderation. It shouldnt be excessive. I mean I see no reason why a lil girl should be wearing large hoops or any of that sort but there's no big deal if she wears moderately sized earrings that are not too flashy and when she gets older, she can make her own choice and wear whatever. Moderation and perfection in all things as my mom always tells me. |
I dont see anything wrong in my daughter wearing earrings, bracelets and necklaces. AS LONG AS they are not expensive. To be honest, she probably wont be wearing any of that gold or silver 'cause I dont wear them (only have 2 silver chains given to me by people. I would never buy them lol). She'll probably have more of african jewellery which I would LOVE for her to wear but none of that gold and silver. |
Ericomoto: Some professionals wear uniform but are not compelled under the law to wear or be fined or harrassed except where they are law enforcement agents. But in this case its different. Let him repair all our roads and provide A/C buses then come back to ask all of us to wear uniforms, we will all comply. Not unless your org or company or whatever requires you toand in thid case, the govt does |
wait sef. why must they hold an event all in the name of buses? Why cant they just buy them and distribute them or whatever. why waste extra money for people to come and sit for hours and do nothing? |
Ericomoto: So you think its normal for them to wear uniform? dont you realise they are professionals also in their own rights? they already have taxis, buses, cabs etc painted differently to differentiate them from private ones. The worse to happen is for them have membership registration and ID cards not uniform abeg. Very soon Teachers,Doctors,Ministry workers etc will have uniform too and you will call that Fashola working. I support Fashola but he has simply derailed on this one.wait so nurses dont wear uniforms? doctors in the US wear uniforms too!! |
Anyone know how much fees cost at CU? |
cupid4ig: can u tell me any country or state that drivers wear uniform? smhI know America for one and I think the Uk too. not sure. but America, most def! |
babestella: Did I hear someone say that is the way it is done in America, UK, and china. ImaoThat is the way it is done in America. |
osamedia: Come na egba, edo state u from come abi u dey claim?claim wetin? Is there a place called egba in Edo state? Im not from Edo o. Im from Abeokuta, ilu rere, ilu olola. ![]() |
okpara ugo: Why do you like mini tinz alot?LOL. I dont o. ahahhahaha I just thought it was only mini cause na wetin pple tell me be dat and i also only saw mini everywhere online. I guess the mini overshadowed the 4 |
TroGunn: Two devices were announced today- IPad 4 and IPad Mini.Oh I see!! hmmmm na only mini i see ni o. Ayt thanks for the correction. OP abeg no vex o. i no know ni. Na only mini i think say dem release cause na only news for mini dey fill our ears. lol |
nitlad: Yhu lot are dunces. The iPad 4 unveiling preceeded the Mini's!mscheeeeeeew. na on top that one u come dey call person dunce?? why dont u be like the person who nicely corrected my error. abeg go siddon jor. |
eazyd: Apple unveiled an Ipad mini today--where the heck do you get your gist fromHe meant to say mini not 4. forgive him. lol |
denzel2009: LOl Apple ripping off mugus as usual.Buying their products is a choice. They are not necessities so if you choose to buy them, then you must have the excess money for that. It's business. If people didnt buy them, you think they would make money? The prices might be on the high side BUT people are still buying them. Let those who think they are necessities buy at the exorbitant prices. Some of us will continue to hope and pray. But just cause they are doing business does not mean they are ripping people off. |
iPad Mini. |
Clemzy16: What would you say when your elderly father baff up every morning, wears a uniform probably with a socks and sandals like a primary school pupil just because he is a bus driver. Is the uniform going to change their attitude and what is the essence of wearing a neat uniform in a dead bus and roads full of poth-holes and mud. Or are you saying that all the roads in Lagos has been rehabilitated. It is now obvious that Nigerians only react to Negative policies as being bais only when it affects one of their own. My father is not a danfo-driver neither do i have a relative that is one but i see this policy as some piss of shitt. Fashola has a clue to everything that he is doing not that he actually has the people at heart. He is obviously displaying some cheap publicity stunt, trying to wear a good face towards the 2015 presidential election. Mark my words!smh. wont you like to see some order for once?? wont that also affect your own perception of the bus drivers? What do you mean wearing uniform like a primary school pupil? dont police men wear uniforms? dont firemen wear uniform? you're talking like as if only children wear uniform. o ga o. dont other groups, some companies and organizations enforce uniforms?? Are they children? Abeg enough of this mentality. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It creates a sense of togetherness, orderliness etc. Let's put some order to our country mhani!haba! we need a sense of orderliness. buses and public transportation vehicles should be uniform so that they are easily recognizable by all and those driving them too should be the same. ORDER. ORDER. ORDER. Maybe when we begin to put public things in order, our heads too will be in order and we will stop all this confusion and chaos that has taken over the country. |
Kassidy90: Why not fix all d roads first? Misplaced priority......soon nw evry1 wuld b putting on uniform to differentiate people from different town or neighbourhood...I swear, anything that any governor does is always misplaced priority! why? There are too many things wrong in our society and to be honest, it's hard to tell which one should come first because they are all intertwined. Biko, let them start from somewhere. let them start small and progress. Enough of the criticism. I honestly dont see anything wrong in bus drivers wearing uniform. no big deal at all as long as they enforce some neatness level like i previously said. |
Kassidy90: Why not fix all d roads first? Misplaced priority......soon nw evry1 wuld b putting on uniform to differentiate people from different town or neighbourhood...are they not fixing the roads? or are you trying to tell me that they havent fixed any roads at all ![]() |
packman: GOD TO ME THIS IS THE MOST JOBLESS AND MOST ANNOYING THING I HAVE EVER HEARD FROM THIS ANNOYING ACN GORVNMMENT WHAT RUUBISH ARE THIS THE MOST IMMIDAITE THINGS OFF THE GOVERNOR SLEEVESsmh. whats wrong with wearing uniforms now? tell me? what is wrong with it? doesn't it give a sense of order and meaning to what they are doing. think about it. what do some companies require uniforms? why do schools require uniforms too. what is a uniform sef? maybe you should start by understanding what a uniform is and the reason groups require it. petit à petit, l'oiseua fait son nid. the only problem is see with this is that the uniforms will be dirty but then if they can successfully carry out uniform inspections, then no probs! na wa o. when we wan move forward and develop the country, some pple go dey hold us back dey talk say somethings no necessary. wont we start from somewhere ni? o ga o. i just tire. Think about it too now. There are some positive effects of wearing a uniform. I cant even start sef. I just frustrate. |
