The Nigeria Football Federation on Sunday terminated the contract of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, and appointed Augustine Eguavoen, to take charge as the team’s Technical Adviser on an interim basis. “This is with immediate effect, and follows the termination of the relationship with Franco-German Gernot Rohr, who has been in charge of the three-time African champions for the past 64 months, and is Nigeria’s longest-serving manager,” the NFF said in a statement signed by its spokesman Ademola Olajire. General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Mohammed Sanusi said, “The relationship between the Nigeria Football Federation and Mr Rohr has come to an end. We thank him for his services to the Super Eagles and Nigeria. “We also want to thank the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports for their collaboration and guidance all through.” The federation added that following a virtual meeting of the NFF Executive Committee on Sunday, it was decided that Eguavoen would work with Salisu Yusuf (Chief Coach), Paul Aigbogun (Assistant Coach), Joseph Yobo (Assistant Coach), Dr Terry Eguaoje (Assistant Coach) and Aloysius Agu (Goalkeeper Trainer). Former Nigeria captains Austin Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Garba Lawal were also appointed to provide technical and ambassadorial support for the crew. Eguavoen, a former Eagles captain, was coach of the squad when they finished in third place at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in 2006. He was on-field captain when the Super Eagles lifted the Africa Cup for the first time on away ground, in Tunisia 27 years ago. He will now take charge of the team as they begin preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6, 2022, and until the appointment of a substantive head coach. The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) to address the increasing rates of data privacy abuse by money lending operators, particularly fintech. This is according to a statement signed by Mrs Hadiza Umar, Head, Corporate Affairs and External Relations, at NITDA, and seen by Nairametrics. According to NITDA, the impacted money loan companies have been exploiting their customers’ personal information, compromising their privacy, and sharing it with those who were not involved in the initial arrangement. What NITDA is saying The statement signed by Mrs Hadiza Umar, reads, “These operators execute this by abusing their data, breaching their privacy and sharing it with others who are not part of the initial contract. “The Agency has received over 40 petitions from members of the public on the personal data abuse of some lending companies. Our investigations led to the imposition of a Ten million naira (N10,000,000) fine and other administrative sanctions on Soko Lending Company “As an agency focused on using its mandate to empower Nigerians and make them active players in the digital economy, NITDA is very concerned about the worrisome effect the nefarious activities of the money lending companies is having on families, friends, and the society at large.” Umar said that NITDA is worried about the effect the nefarious activities of the money lending companies is having on families, friends, and the society at large, as some of the complainants had contemplated suicide, indicating that the government needed to do more to protect vulnerable Nigerians. “The partnership with FCCPC will lead to a more robust and concerted regulatory approach which we believe would ensure that Nigerians get a necessary reprieve from the illegal use of their data for money lending operations. The partnership would entail joint investigations, enforcement and possible prosecution. We, therefore, use this medium to inform all money lending operators and other data controllers and processors that NITDA is set to enforce the privacy right of Nigerians in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019.” Umar noted that NITDA’s investigation led to the imposition of a ten million naira (N10,000,000) fine and other administrative sanctions on Soko Lending Company. She remarked that controllers and Processors who seek guidance on Compliance with the NDPR should contact NITDA licensed Data Protection Compliance Organizations (DPCO). In case you missed it Findings made by Nairametrics showed that a number of these loan app operators now send embarrassing short messages service (SMS) and WhatsApp messages to the close contacts of their loan defaulters with the intention of shaming the defaulters, tagging them with terms like ‘criminal,’ ‘fraudster,’ and ‘terrible debtor’ among others. In some cases, the full names, phone numbers and pictures of the alleged loan defaulters are shared with their contacts like religious leaders, members of churches and mosques, close friends, bosses, colleagues and family members (Courtesy:Nairametrics ) |
Congratulations to all Anambra people. They voted well . |
I meant mentioning the Church. [It's not secret. Moreover he is a public official . Prophets are supposed to call out leaders of nations and put them on the right path . He went to theology School he should know that .] |
Must you spill ![]() Is he doing what he should be doing ? Is Buhari not worth crictisizing ? Is the economy not affecting you? Put Church allegiances aside . He is not doing well ! We should learn to commend and condem our own |
Na Asokoro Foursquare Gospel Church . Even members of Foursquare Gospel Cburch are disappointed in him . Nobody reckons with him in the movement . We are simply waiting for him to come back after Buhari's tenure and come and do one stupid preaching or talk in church or any national programme in camp at Ajebo he will be disgraced . God bless the senior pastor of that church , I won't mention his name . |
Go the your phone settings, go to privacy and security settings , go to app permissions and deny the app access to your contacts , location, media, etc You should also lock up your social media accounts especially Facebook so that they won't be able to post on your wall . I had issues with one of them too :LEND CASH. I was hospitalised and couldn't pay back on due date. Once I got discharged and had paid I sent a formal request to the NITDA and sent a copy to the loan agent : the guy weak , I also took it a step further and sent the number to the police for blackmail and defamation . They handled the rest |
Go to permission settings o your phone . Deny sokoloan or any other app permission to your contacts , location , sms etc . That should do |
America and their hypocrisy. Did they not leave at least 3 tucanos in the hands of the Talibans ? |
This is becoming interesting, let t the FG prove all these accusations beyond any reasonable doubt . So they want us to believe Kanu was giving orders from DSS custody? The world is watching . |
let me tell you what will happen if Buhari's foolishness push Nigeria to another civil war. It will not be like the 1967 war because crude oil that made Britain and other world powers like Russia, Egypt to support Nigeria then has lost value and no world power will be fighting for it again like in 1960s. Secondly, The North is highly divided now than in 1976 when Northeast and Northwest deceived North Central into helping them to fight for their hidden agenda, today Fulani herdsmen killings in middlebelt has opened their eyes so they won't be joining Northern Nigeria to fight again foolishly like they did in 1967. Same applies to Southwest, at least majority of Yorubas won't be joining Northern Nigeria to fight any senseless war. Same with some parts of Niger Delta that joined Nigeria. Again, once Buhari causes another war to errupt from the Southeast, of course Igbo soldiers will withdraw, same with some from Niger Delta, there will be a lot of sabotage in the Nigerian Army, and Boko Haram and ISWAP will use that opportunity of divided warfronts to decimate Northeast and declare Northeast Nigeria as an Independent Islamic State, Bandits in Northwest will be pushing for same in Northwest. This will reduce the fighting power of Nigerian Army, and will give Southeast agitators and fighters an edge to completely pull out from Nigeria with little resistance. And finally the Nigeria you all love so much because of crude oil will collapse, all thanks to terrorist Buhari and his foolish supporters and conspirators like you [ Thank God this is a faceless forum . You talk as if you have seen a shooting range before not to talk of bullets flying past your ears. There is a reason why ugwu and other vegetables form a major part of soups from the South East . I want Biafra as much as you want it too . ] |
Nigerian government would have refused to bring him to court today and see Nigeria burn to ashes. The stage was almost set, now I see that Buhari still have some iota of sense and fear in him. Ohamadike nothing will do you. You will forever be remembered for standing against Fulani oppression [The Nigerian Government can decide to kill him ...There will be war and the South East will still lose . Before you attack me understand I am not against Kanu . The solution to this can only be political. ] |

Chioma Ajunwa now has property in Lagos , I assume she has one or two others in Lagos . If Biafra succeds will she leave ? |
You are the mad one here. So shallow and irritatingly pompous. Muslims want Shariah law for cases btw them, how is that ur problem? I normally don't exchange words on this platform cos there are lots of crazy people here . you people should try and implement it first na , we'll see how it goes . You'll tell us how Islam became the dominant religion in the south west. And if they want it, they will get it. And no one can stop that.
|
When they are not mad , Sharia in the south west? Who will they lord it over ? They'd better not try any nonsense , we will just end up killing ourselves. If they want the whole country to go up in flames they are welcome , who go die fo die , who go remain go remain . |
I have seen this on NL for the umpteenth time ....see if you earn 50K and know how to manage it you are better than someone that earns 100k and doesn't know to live on a budget . I know married peeps in my office who earn less than 80k and are doing well Where do you work ? Will your wife work ? Are you in a cooperative ? Do you buy your food stuff in piecemeal or you go to the market to buy in bulk ? Do you have plans for any side hustle , do you do Ajo ? You will be surprised if people reveal how much they earn . |
I have passed beneath that bridge whenever I have owambe at Abk, very useless and a very egregious waste of taxpayers money |
