Anybody who doesn't like this response; be you of any tribe or tongue, can take a cue from the Oba of Lagos and go and receive automatic membership of the "lagoon" club! There is freedom of expression here; he was asked an honest question, he gave an honest answer!! If you don't like it, go and drown in the lagoon!! ![]() Afterall, when in 1984 buhari proposed what is known as Buharism; he practically made himself the butt of jokes of all known scholars of economics and accounting alike - a thing that put him at loggerheads with International Financial Organisations, IFO's, so attacking Nkonjo iweala for no just cause under the guise of a loopsided anti-corruption war is Buhari's MO anyday anytime!! U can quote me anywhere!! ![]() |
What kind of lie lie blogger is this!!?? $400million and only signal news reports authoritatively on that? Not vanguard, not punch, not even premium times but signal?? Somebody returned $400million from Jonathan's government and APC didn't have a media buffet to rubbish the GEJ administration nor praise Buhari for exposing that corruption?? Other bloggers are reporting this as an unconfirmed report and signal here posting thrash!! Thast how they said Nkonjo Iweala returned $10billion!! And Allison returned $90bn!! Nonsense This in my opinion is rule 8 in violation!!?? |
Rule No 8: This is a violation of the rules that guide Nairaland!! I don't believe that this is the platform to use to tarnish someones image!! Mods and Super Mods et. Al!! Please close this chapter |

Is "fox" a prayer, a blessing or a curse?? Babies who know nothing about God's word nor God nor Spiritual things but know exactly how every man of God is expected to behave!! |

The members complain give U; if U truly believe and feel say na homeless shelters people need; why not take it to God in prayer and ask for grace from God to building homeless shelters!! Or better still, why not move into one yaself and show how good it is to be in a homeless shelter and then dedicate ya life fulltime - just like oyedepo did - to advocating for the creation of mega homeless shelters and let's see what happens; abi?? |
First, all this arms probe is a miscalculation as far as APC & Buhari are concerned & at the end of the day; it will only backfire & the Ordinary Nigerians will be the victims. Men like Buhari, Osibanjo, Tinubu & the rest have enough diplomatic & political capital to protect & shield themselves & their families unlike ordinary Nigerians who may have nothing but the same government that is just recklessly handling it affairs under the present administration just so that it can be seen to be working - work without a solid plan or clear policy direction!! Everyone who is conversant with the affairs of this country; does not need to be reminded that for the greater part of the Jonathan administration, arms for the Nigerian military were purchased through unofficial channels - a situation that was created by the current ruling party when they were still in the opposition, when the first wave of attacks against boko haram were initiated & they succeeded with help of ignorant Nigerians in politicising the Boko haram war. News archives are filled with stories of statements made by Chieftains both of Northern and southern descent in the opposition accusing the Jonathan administration of genocide & ethnic bias against Northerners in different quarters! The result of which, most developed nations refused to sell arms, under various legal codes to what was believed to be a government using military might to oppress its citizens or a government accused to be training snipers to shutup opposition because it didn't want to hand over power. All of which were just lies, at least buhari's swearing in leaves no one in doubt!! Question, is it possible to buy arms - or anything for that matter - on the black market through due process?? Does it even make sense for someone to legally do an illegal thing - because technically, buying arms on the black market is illegal, abi?? First, consider the damage that such an open probe will cost the Nigerian government in terms of capital within the intelligence community - locally and internationally!! I said open probe because there's nothing that says buhari shouldn't know what happened during the arms purchase, but discretion should have been the watch word!! But because they want to be seen to be working & also the person who was at the helm of affairs is an arch-nemesis - at least we all know dasuki was sent by Babangida to kick buhari out of Dodan barracks in 1984 - you create a press buffet with anti-corruption being the theme!! The same government is travelling everywhere looking for help to handle terrorism, its the same government that doesn't know when to shutup and when to keep quiet!! On the second end; I belong to a school of thought that doesn't see corruption as our Nation's problem!! Corruption is a global phenomenon & as long as human beings are at the helm of affairs there will be corruption; even in China were death sentence exists there is still corruption!! We just have 2 problems and no administration wants to address them head on because they are capital intensive and they put politicians in a weak position!! Address them and we are set for development!! Problem one is education; not the junk that the 6-3-3-4 has become because of the errors of including it under UBE's port-folio!! Education that's meant to arm Nigerian kids with technical, sell-able skills by JS3 as well as provide them with the right civil information to function in a democratic Nigeria!! By JS3, a child should already have a skillset, by SS3 a child should already know where his/her life is heading and what he/she wants to do with his/her life!! The second is a vibrant, robust and properly positioned and independent judiciary that is easily accessible to the average Nigerian!! I will rather have all the billions in subsidy channelled to subsidise Nigerians judiciary cost than petroleum cost; this is why a politician can steal #10bn and go to jail for just 2years and he is out but an average Nigerian will go to jail for #25year for stealling #200,000 why?? Where money to pay lawyer to read and prepare for cases?? Nigeria is the only country I know, where a woman will report at a police station that her husband is using iron rods to beat her and police will tell her to go home and settle with her husband because it is a domestic case, then when he don kill the woman finish they will step in say na murder case!! Does this even make any sense!!?? The role of the Judiciary is to protect citizens through the enforcement of law!! Concerning corruption, if the average Nigerian, who is educated & know his/her right; find himself in a situation where corruption is about to trample on his/her right & has easy access to the judiciary, what is stopping him from taking advantage of the law!! Or a corrupt politician knows that the minute he/she removes a pin from government house/treasury; the average Nigerian is educated enough to filter politics away from administration & put him in jail using an independent judiciary; why steal?? Instead of crying probe everytime a new administration comes into town!! Or crying probe everytime one tabloid or newspaper shout billions being looted in the papers! I believe these 2 are enough to solve the problems of development and corruption instead of all these noise..... |
This is the real source to look at if you want to see her true reaction to the request for funds by the office of the National Security Adviser!! http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/okonjo-iweala-makes-public-memo-on-arms-deal/ No matter how hard Oshiomole, APC oh or is it OPC and Buhari try to taint her reputation; you will find that this woman called Nkonjo Iweala is a sucker for doing things right!! |

chrisblack:My apologies; I remember seeing people jubilating about his death in Kaduna because he was a christian!! Anyway don't know much about Yakowa but you also goofed as well!! Patrick Aziza - whom you seem to be referencing -died of cancer in 2014 if I am correct!! He was never the NSA and he was never a general!! He was retired by Obasanjo as a Major-General; I believe Commerce and tourism was his last official designation and he is from delta!! I don't need to read any of those sourced links because General Owoye Andrew Azazi has never called PDP boko haram; he was never dismissed as NSA; he died as NSA!! And General Azazi is from Bayelsa state!! Major General Aziza was Chairman of the Military Tribunal that sent Obasanjo to jail for the 1995 coup and that is why when Obasanjo came into power in 1999 he required Aziza to retire immediately!! I repeat Azazi died in the plane crash; Aziza died of cancer!! Azazi died a retired General, Aziza died a bitter Major General!! |

chrisblack:This is the problem with this country; ignorance (or lack of proper education forged out of a vibrant educational system which should be crafted by Educationists and Historians) and easy access to a vibrant and robust Judiciary!! These are 2 issues with my country Nigeria; not corruption! And this is what politicians will never openly admit because if they do, whatever power they have over the average Nigerian is gone!! For your information the poster of this topic is obviously one of the many ignorant fellows who were recruited during the last presidential election to create bad press and water down whatever political capital that the PDP, Jonathan or any person linked to the Jonathan adminstration may have and is obviously still on official asisgnment!! An average Nigerian with a well rounded education would have known that no person by name of Abdulahi aziza was in any heliopter crash with Governor Yakowa! It was General Owoye Andrew Azazi that died in a helicopter crash on December 15 2012 on a naval base in a bayelsa; he was returning from a funeral of Oronto Douglas's father (Oronto douglas was the special adviser to Jonathan on Documentation, Research and strategy, Oronto douglas himself died april 9th this year), he was in company of Governor Yakowa (a muslim who was recent converted to christianity)!! General Owoye Azazi, a highly decorated officer of the Nigerian army, a retired 4 star general, he was former GOC (I believe it should be division 1), former chief of army staff, former chief of defence staff, and NSA to President Jonathan at the time of his death!! Azazi's intelligence framework, as Nigeria's NSA, guided the interception of a large illegal shipment of weapons from the Islamic Republic of Iran which was shipped with the authorisation of iranian intelligence. He had remarkable influence at the CIA and the moment we lost him; all hope of the Nigerian government co-operating with the USA to fight boko haram went to the grave with him!! Azazi practically grew up in bayelsa, he is more or less a kin to Jonathan; he was a very vital tool in his adminstration, only a Boko haram sympathist will want to see him go!! Dasuki is just a mere retired colonel; who didn't even have hope of smelling the corridors of power if not for Azazi's tragic exit!! Even if Dasuki wanted azazi out, he did not have the resources, manpower nor intelligence framework nor bandwith to make that kind of gameplay against azazi!! Get your Head right!! |

With the way this Buhari and APC of a party is going; they will soon link Dasuki to why Oil is selling at $46 per barrel in the international market and why fuel is selling at #120 at filling stations Nationwide!! That way Aregbesola can hold him responsible for dwindling excess crude revenue allocation from the federal government which is of course the obvious reason why he cannot pay salaries!! And our current Petroleum minister can distance himself from the obviously wrong allegations that he is a confirmed olodo minister who cannot handle ordinary Oyel ministry!! While they are at it; can they please link me to the reason why APC may win the next governorship election in Edo state come july 2016!! I want to collect small "Change" as soon as possible!! ![]() ![]() |

By Ovuakporie, Johnbosco Agbakwuru & Emem Idio ABUJA FOR the second time in two weeks, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared an election inconclusive. The Commission, yesterday, declared the Bayelsa State Governorship election inconclusive, just as did in the Kogi election.. The sore thumb has remained the highly volatile Southern Ijaw Local Council of the state. Elections could not take place in the area, last Saturday, unlike other parts of the state and the exercise was rescheduled for Sunday. In spite of the deployment of soldiers to the area, attempts to conduct the polls on Sunday met an impregnable wall, forcing the INEC, yesterday, to again, cancel the rescheduled exercise in Southern Ijaw over widespread violence, ballot box snatching and hostage taking of electoral officials. The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Baritor Kpagih, who disclosed this in Yenagoa, said a new date for a fresh poll in the area would be announced in due course. His words: “You will recall that the Commission conducted governorship election on December 5, 2015. The Commission announced that the polls shall be continued in some local governments including Southern Ijaw Local Government Area on December 6, 2015. “The results of the elections in all the Local Government Areas except Southern Ijaw have been collated. “Reports of the election conducted on December 6, 2015 in Southern Ijaw LGA reveals that the election was substantially marred by violence, ballot box snatching, hostage taking of electoral officials including reports from political parties, observers — local and foreign — among others. “This falls short of internationally accepted standards for credible election. Consequently, the Commission has decided in the interest of the integrity of the commission to cancel the election in Southern Ijaw. A new date for the conduct of the election in Southern Ijaw LGA will be announced in due course.” Before the cancellation of polls in Southern Ijaw, results from seven of the eight local councils of Bayelsa had been announced. Governor Seriake Dickson, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who polled 105,748 votes, is leading his closest challenger, Chief Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who got 72,594 votes with 33,154 votes. According to the INEC updated register for the 2015 election in the state, there are 120,827 registered voters in Southern Ijaw Local Council. Results from five councils – Sagbama, Yenagoa, Kolokuma/Opokuma, Brass and Ekeremor, had been announced on Sunday. Yesterday, results from Nembe and Ogbia were announced. So far, Dickson won in all the councils apart from Brass, which was cornered by Sylva. How Dickson won Nembe In Nembe, which has 14 Wards, the PDP polled 10,768 votes while the APC had 6,974. The PDM scored 76 votes. Nembe is also the home town of Dickson’s Deputy and runing mate, Gboribiogha John-Jonah, a retired Air Force officer. According to the Returning Officer, Dr Samuel Ebiye of the Federal University Otuoke, the local council has 66,384 registered votes out of which only 18,799 were accredited. Jonathan delivers Ogbia In Ogbia Local Council, which has 13 wards and where former President Goodluck Jonathan hails from, the ruling PDP emerged tops with 13,051 votes, beating APC (9,106 votes). The PDM got 86 votes. Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Dr. Evans Eze of Federal University, Otuoke, said the area has 69, 253 registered voters, of which 24,532 voters were accredited. The number of rejected ballots was 880 and total votes cast, 23,358. Police ban public rallies, procession Before the results of the polls in Southern Ijaw were cancelled, the Bayelsa Police Command banned all forms of processions, rallies or demonstrations in the state. Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Training and Development and Bayelsa Election, Hashimu Argungu, in a statement said information at the command’s disposal revealed plans by some disgruntled elements to carry out illegal demonstrations, processions and rallies in the state capital. “This form of conduct will jeopardize the ongoing electoral process. Therefore, the command warns the intending perpetrators to desist from such acts as it will deal decisively with any person or group of persons who wishes to engage in any conduct that will compromise the existing peaceful atmosphere,” he warned. Argungu urged members of the public to go about their normal businesses, “as the security agencies are poised to guarantee the safety of lives and properties.” Women protest in Southern Ijaw However, women drawn mostly from Southern Ijaw Local Council, but cutting across all the councils of the state, yesterday, defied the ban on street processions and demonstrations to protest what they described as the widespread irregularities in the conduct of the rescheduled election in the council and called for cancellation of the exercise. The protesting women, clad in black, bore placards with the inscription,”Leadership is about building and not destroying!” , ‘’INEC are you still independent?”, “Buhari are you still for everybody and nobody?” “No vote in Southern Ijaw wards!” They moved towards the INEC collation centre, chanting war songs but were stopped by men of the Joint Task Force code named Operation Pulo Shield, the Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC. The aggrieved women, led by the State Woman Leader of the PDP, Madam Faith Opuen, alleged that the decision of INEC to collude with the APC to disenfranchise the people of the state was wicked and unconstitutional. She said though the decision to reschedule the election was normal, the refusal of INEC to put in place necessary machinery to protect lives and materials for the election invalidates any outcome of the election in Southern Ijaw. PDP Reps accuse JTF of hijacking poll materials for APC Meanwhile, the PDP caucus in the House of Representatives, yesterday, accused security agents of hijacking electoral materials for the governorship elections in Southern Ijaw in favour of the APC. It specifically accused the JTF of chasing away its party chieftains and supporters from voting and facilitating rigging to favour the APC. The PDP caucus, in a statement read by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rep Leo Ogor, flanked by Rep Rima Shawulu said: “The desperate attempt to kill and bury democracy and the right to choose by the APC-led government of President Muhammadu Buhari is to say the least, not just despicable, but also portends end for the nation. “As it is already known, the people of Bayelsa braved the odds to go out and vote in spite of threat and boast of the APC that it will use security agents and soldiers to take over the state. Citizens were told that they should not bother to go out and vote because the election result had already been written in favour of the APC. “The people of the State ignored the threats and handed over victory in the state to the Peoples Democratic Party despite the killings, mayhem, ballot box and result sheet seizing.” The PDP governorship candidate, Gov. Seriake Dickson won in the following six of the eight local government areas, Yenogoa, Kolokuma, Sagbama, Ekeremor, Ogbia and Nembe.” The PDP caucus said that the incumbent governor, Dickson, who is seeking for re-election only lost in Brass local government area which was won by the APC candidate despite the fact that election in the area was allegedly characterised by brutalisation of voters and snatching of ballot boxes. According to the statement, Southern Ijaw was the only local government area that results were yet to be declared, adding, “APC stalwarts and leaders are openly provoking our members, boasting that the Army, Navy, Police and other security agencies are helping to write the results of the local government. “They are also boasting that they are going to the churn enough votes for the APC to overturn the victory of the PDP in six of the eight local government areas. “The President and his party should allow democracy take its natural course. We wish to remind the APC that if PDP had gone this desperate, the opposition would not have been in office now and democracy may have collapsed. The conducive democratic environment put in place by the PDP is being scuttled by the use of force to rig the governorship polls in Bayelsa which is clearly being won by the opposition PDP. “The APC should refrain from such acts capable of creating conflicts and eroding public confidence in democracy. We condemn in strong terms the flagrant use of the JTF to chase away voters, stop people from voting and rigging in favour of the ruling APC.’ Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/why-inec-declared-bayelsa-election-inconclusive/ |

How may of our Nairalanders can remember this glorious day!! Owerri – The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday said he would ensure that the Naira was equal to the dollar in value, if voted into office. Buhari stated this during the South-East presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyima Stadium, Owerri. “It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’ he said. He urged the people to vote for APC, noting that he would ensure that corruption was tackled headlong if elected. Earlier, Gov Rochas Okorocha had urged APC supporters to vote for the party’s candidates at all levels, noting that a vote for Buhari without support to others at the state would amount to nothing. Okorocha said Buhari would address the problem of electricity, bring back the kidnapped Chibok girls and promote industrial growth. He said that Buhari was loved by the people in the region and urged them to elect him and other APC candidates during the March 28 and April 11 general elections. Former governor of Anambra, Mr Chinwoke Mbadinuju and former Minister of Education, Chinwe Obaji, were formally welcomed to the APC at the rally. The rally was attended by APC supporters from Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu and Imo. (NAN) Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/ill-make-naira-equal-in-value-to-dollar-says-buhari/ |
