ejimatic: A rogue bank cashier, Ebenezer Adeolu Longe, his wife, Isakunle Olamide Oyinlola and his mother-in- law, Isakunle Eunice Moradeke were today sentenced to 60-year imprisonment each.
Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye of Ekiti State High Court, Ado Ekiti delivered the verdict.
The trio were convicted on a 12-count charge of conspiracy and stealing contrary to the Criminal Code.
The charge was brought against them by the Ibadan Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Justice Ogunmoye, in his judgement, ruled that the prosecution team led by Abdulrasheed Lanre suleiman proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.
He said the convicts had failed to extricate themselves from the self-evidenced proofs before the court.
EFCC, in the course of trial, called two witnesses and tendered several exhibits to prove their case.
The convicts were found guilty in all the 12 counts and sentenced to five years on each count.
The cumulative sixty years prison terms will, however, run concurrently.
The journey to the prison started when the illicit activities of Ebenezer got exposed through a petition to the EFCC from one of the new generation banks.
The bank reported that Ebenezer Adeolu Alonge was involved in fraudulent activities.
It was alleged that sometime in February 2018 the bank received a complaint concerning the missing N62, 400.00 in a customer’s account.
According to the petitioner, on February 15, 2017 a customer lodged the said sum into her account but the transaction could not be traced in the customer’s account even after the customer presented a copy of the slip signed by Alonge.
In the course of investigation, the said transaction was allegedly traced to Ebenezer Alonge’s wife’s account.
Further investigation however, revealed that there was a turnover of over N21, 000,000.00 as deposit from other customers in his wife’s account.
Also, it was alleged that other sums were traced to his mother-in-law’s account, who was also a beneficiary of the fraudulent act.
The court ordered Alonge to forfeit his house, which shall be sold and the proceeds used to restitute the bank.

. 1 Beware of bank staff 2 They know what is in your account 3 They check customer's acciout and can betray you anytime 4 They dare not check account of who is who is who in Nigeria 5 Know what is in your account through your bank applications 6 Some of them them open accounts for their friends for dishonest practices. 7 If you are given a bank officer be careful with him or her. 8 Among those who are corrupt in Nigeria now bank officers are among the first three. 9 If you doubt all I have saying so far ask yourself: How do fraudsters who call to dupe you know your account name account no and phone no? ...May God save us from the insatiate Nigerian bankers
Wiseandtrue: Good one! This should serve as a deterrent to others!
Parents should ask for the source of money they are receiving!
It's their silence that has encouraged these youths into crimes!
Crimes in whatever form no pay! They ended up losing EVERYTHING!
This man may even be a contract staff . He opened accounts for his wife and mother for his knavish activities. He will just resign and become a motor delear.Yet his wife knows everything about his fraudulent activity. His mother may have known too with logments of money in her account. That is Nigeria for all of us where people steal money and start to do Thanksgiving services in churches or mosques to appease God . What will happen to their innocent children? What will happen to the pregnancy if it is recent? The family name is in a mess now .From grace to grass now. What a disgraceful family!

p. My question is :what did Sunday Igboho do that merit home inavasion and his being declared wanted by the DSS? The answer that came my mind is Igangan saga!
. Yes I did Issues 1to 4 ,decided in favour of the appeallant 5 to 7 in favour of respondent Yet the AC held that the prayers lacked merits and did not in any way affect the result of the election I believ as an SAN Jedege should know what it means to present strong greavances on election matters not to go for a procedural tussle that can never affect the outcome of the election. ........By extension it means he agreed with the result of the election but disagreed that Buni should not have singed the nomination form. An APC member would have been the appeallant like in Zamfara unlike a PDP fighting over another party ' s activity. So in my opinion it is only Jegede who knows what he wants in his appeal.I SEE NO HOPE for him until I am proved otherwise. By the SC which I doubt

She's still in school while I'm still in school too. She's 22 while I'm 24 nd also in final YR and we both love each other..my mum has supported me to marry her. I proposed to her and she said yes...I plan going her house next month next to start official martial rites but I'm afraid. Here is my reasons

My major concern about this girl is that those his brothers are not willing to do anything, istead the came asking me for small small money when I'm back, knowing fully I'm just dating thier sis....most times the my girl always feel ashamed of her brothers nd keep cursing them. The can't even call her on phone unless she calls them...nd the will keep asking why she didn't call them all this while knowing fully thier sister is in school nd not working.
I have thought about this over and over again, how do I marry from a family that can't even assist in anything...I know marriage is not always Rosy, what if something happens tomorrow nd I needed thier financial support..the can't render to me. I discussed with my mum nd she told me I'm marrying thier sister who is well trained nd not the brother..that I can decide not to give them money again... But I'm very sad over this. It's only the father and mum that acknowledge I hay been trying to see their sister through school expenses, including food and wears. I discussed with my woman, she started crying, saying she knows her brothers are such a disgrace, telling me how she may commite sucide if I didn't marry her... Sixsigmahub: Another Final Year Student in a Federal University in Nigeria has been spotted by the school authorities with an Examination Malpractice Shirt.
It’s been a very trendy month this July as the internet as been raging hot since the news of Uniben’s Peace Ufuoma being investigated by the School authorities for wearing a shirt that said, “Aggressive malpractice brought me this far”.
According to be report by , Department of Microbiology, University of Benin has constituted a committee to probe the results of a female student, who marked her graduation in a controversial shirt.
Some weeks ago, a video had gone viral on social media which featured the young lady, Peace Ufuoma, wearing a shirt that reads ‘aggressive malpractice brought me this far’.
In a meeting on Tuesday, July 13, the management of the institution begun investigating all the results of the lady and a report is to be given within a week.
The memo sighted online by Siggy correspondent was signed by the department’s head, S.E Omonigho, and directed to one Prof I. O Enabulele to head the committee.
There had been reports on Wednesday that the student was asked to rewrite all her papers from her level two till the end of level four.
The report also alleged that the school management is of the opinion that Peace Ufuoma be used as a scapegoat to tell every student of the University of Benin that examination malpractices are not allowed within her walls.
In yet another unconfirmed report released on the evening of the same wednesday, the spokesperson for the University of Benin, Benedicta Adeola Ehanire, has said there is no report yet from the panel set up to investigate a 400-level student, Peace Ufuoma, who is under probe for alleged exam malpractice.
Everyone has had one of two things to say about the incident but the fact remains that the University of Benin has made her point clear in publicly declaring that she has no room for malpractices of all sort and offenders will be prosecuted squarely.
Amidst all these drama, another photo surfaces online of a young male graduate of a yet to be identified University boldly showing this sign-out shirt which read, “Cheated in every Exam”.
A source has reported that the school authorities have started to take the “Uniben move”. They might have to start investigating into his record to find loopholes.
What is going to be the end of this? Are they going to take any drastic decision against the young man?
. What will happen if a student writes: I OVERPAID MY SCHOoL FEES ? Will the check if it is true and return the excess? Whoever sets a committee on the inscription on somebody's t shirt is clueless and wasting his time.It is like chasing a shadow. You are entitled to what you wear and what is written on it good or bad
bakila: Is Buni allowed by the APC or Nigerian Constitution to be Chairman or an executive of a political party? Be testing the microphone for your party.
. I am not a politician neither do I have intension to be one.My submission is that convention selects NWC members with the chairman.NEC dissolved the NWC and appointed Buni as the acting Chairman. No court case on it implying acceptability of the party members.Primary election is the constitutional right of a party and all party members are stakeholders in it. Dissatisfied a party member can go to court. I beging to wonder logically why Jegede would use signature procedure to win at the SC and how that will affect Ondo election. He himself is not in APC. You cannot benefit from an issue where you are not a party to it..I share same view with the AC and TB that the petition lacks meritss and it is mere an academic exercise whose outcome cannot affect the Akeredolu victory. In the case of Iheodia the SC established forgery and inconsistency in name identification and in Zamfara the SC established no primary in APC.Imo and Zamfara are tenable cases but in Ondo I believe Jegede should have done better in his approach to his appeal.
fergie001: “While the Court of Appeal acknowledged that it was a violation of the Constitution, it still went ahead to dismiss the appeal." Appeal Court agreed that it was a violation of Buni to have signed the form as Governor and as APC National Chairman, but insisted that it lacked merit.
Who organises the Guber Primary of a Political Party? The NWC....
Who heads the NWC? National Chairman
Who is APC Ag. National Chairman? ?
Did Ihedioha not teach us something........hmmmm
. Thank u my brother! The outcome of the election was not affected by the violation of the signature process of the primary! This is the position usuly maintained by the TB AC and SC on election matters.
Listen....Section 183 & APC Constitution, Article 17 have already faulted Buni, however the tribunal doesn't have that jurisdiction but the Appeal Court and SC does.
Without that signature, INEC won't touch your nomination form.
Aketi's HOPE is that Buni wasn't joined....You cannot shave a man's hair in his absence.
. Smilesssss......In Literature we shave a man's head in his absence by interpreting a text in the absence of the author.......lol
fergie001: It is not an issue with the Primary, but of nomination and sponsorship.
. Nomination before primary .Primary held and resukts approved by INEC ...Who must sigh is the issue .I still share same view with TB and AC .The issue raised can never affect the outcome of the election.Pronto.No wonder the AC concluded by saying it lacked merits.
senatordave1: It is about the qualification and disqualification of aketi.it bothers on his nomination
. The signature of the Nomination form may be abberant but it will not affect the result of the election That is the weakness of his case.He agreed that primary took place but signature is his bone of contention......Funny appeal!
senatordave1: He is not challenging apc primaries but the legality of governor buni who is constitutionally estopped from holding another post from signing gov aketi's nomination form contrary to the constitution.
. How does that affect the result and outcome of the election..... That is why in my opinion his case will lack merit forever
The Appeal Court agreed that Buni shouldn't have signed his form as National Chairman but the issue was the "Non-Joinder issue."
INEC & APC are still filing cross-appeals at the SC to circumscribe its case as pre-election. If it waCas frivolous, will they?
The only case, APC can arm itself with is Non-Joinder, and defend it with their FULL CHESTS.
Aketi shouldn't sleep oooo, what you are advising was how Ihedioha did his, and he landed as SC-removed Gov.
. What is the business of Jegede with APC primary? Is he a party to the primary? You need Issues resolved in his favour are weak to overturn Akeredoku s victory. That is the submission of the AC on this matter. In my opinion it can't go in Ihedioha's way.
fergie001: Seven issues under appeal.... Issues (1) - (5) resolved in favour of Jegede Issue (6), partly allowed and partly dismissed Issue (7) resolved in favour of Akeredolu...
Appeal Court Judgement.
The appeal is partly allowed and partly dismissed and the appellant’s case is also dismissed for lacking merits.....Jegede is wasting his time on frivolous issues
. Jegede only knows what he wants to achieve in his petition. As from the begining at the tribunal he did not challenge the conduct if the election or the result of the election but only challenged the candidacy of Akeredolu. Is that his business? Has that not been status barred? He lost at the tribunal and the appeal court .He will lose again at the SC.I expect that judgement will be given same day of oral presentation because of the frivolity of the case.
senatordave1: A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a suit seeking to nullify the election of Hope Uzodinma and his Deputy Prof Placid Njoku and declare the governorship seat of Imo State vacant.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo held on Monday, July 19, that the applicant, Mcfyne C. Chikwedu, had no locus standi, adding that the suit was “patently non-justiciable.”
The judge noted that Uzodinma’s election had been affirmed by the Supreme Court and his court was not an election tribunal that could sit on appeal over elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He ordered Chikwedu to pay INEC N250,000 as costs “for bringing such a frivolous and meaningless suit to this court for adjudication.”
INEC and the Attorney-General of The Federation (AGF) were the first and second defendants, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1085/2020.
The judgment followed Chikwedu’s suit alleging the Governor did not meet the constitutional requirement to be declared winner of the March 9 gubernatorial election of Imo State.
But dismissing his contention, the judge observed that there was no connection between the plaintiff and the defendants jointly or severally.
Taiwo held: “If I may ask, was he (Chikwedu) a contestant in the Imo Governorship Election in 2019? He only described himself in paragraphs 1 and 2 of the affidavit in support of the originating summons thus: ‘(1) That I am the plaintiff in this suit and an indigene of Ikeduru LGA of Imo State. (2) That by virtue of my position I am conversant with the facts of this case.’ “These averments are not enough to cloth the plaintiff with the toga of locus standi.
“It is a notorious fact that the issue of the Imo State governorship election has been litigated up to the Supreme Court; the Apex Court in the land on the 14th of January, 2020 and it was held among other things that Senator Hope Uzodinma is the winner of the Governorship Election of Imo State and that the Certificate of Returns be issued to him.
“This court cannot shut its eyes to these facts…This case has no legs to stand on. It is dead on arrival and nothing can be done to resuscitate it. I need to state that cases of this nature ought not to be permitted to see the light of day if not for the constitutional provision as to fair hearing.
“I am of the well-considered view that parties should desist from bringing such time-wasting suits to court knowing fully well that they have no chance to succeed. The time of the court is very precious.
“This case is dismissed in its entirety. This is the judgment of the court.”
The applicant had sought a declaration that Uzodinma’s election as Imo governor was unconstitutional and illegal for violating Section 1 and 179 of the 1999 Constitution.
He also sought, through his counsel F. I Aliuna, an order compelling INEC to withdraw Uzodinma’s Certificate of Return and conduct a fresh gubernatorial election in Imo State within 90 days from the date of the nullification.
Furthermore, he prayed for an order dissolving the Imo State Executive Council, Imo State Boards and Commissions, Imo State Local Government Interim Management Committee as constituted and all other appointments so far made by the governor, and his deputy and to direct them to immediately handover to the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.
Lastly, he prayed the court to direct the Chief Judge of Imo State to swear in the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly as the Acting Governor with immediate effect pending the election and swearing-in of a substantive Governor.
fergie001: I have perused through your statements quite succinctly and find some merits but not enough to overturn certain positions.
There is a difference between morality and Constitutionality. The APC in Zamfara for the 2019 election was a bottomless pit but this is 2021.
Matawalle had a right to even have defected a day after his swearing-in, since the event(s) that brought him in has been overtaken by events.
The Constitution has designed the steps for the removal of a Governor & defection isn't one of them.
I have taken a painstaking look at Sections 180, 188, 189 and what Matawalle has done is immoral but not unconstitutional.
Whilst the Constitution had expressly stated in Section 68(1)g: that a member of the House or Senate should lose his seat when he defects (provided there is no division within his Party); It is silent on how it affects a Governor or his Deputy.
. The siilence on the matter in the constitution for Governor is a strength for Matawalle..Thank u for your additional concise and explicit contribution
ejimatic: . I disagree a bit with your submission. A governor can defect to another party if there is a crisis in his party. The freedom is there for them. However in some cases the crisis is trivial yet it will be capitalized upon.Investigatiing what made a governor defect to another party or the genuiness of the issue is not the duty of the SC.That is why defection is flourishing in the National Assembly and among the governors. So like similar cases in Nigeria ,Zamfara defected governor will be victorious as long as he is using his consttuitional freedom to defect if dissatisfied with the situation in the PDP .SC cannot do anything on it.
. Unless defection is forbidden outright by the constitution ,politicians will continue to defect on trivialities.
Saao: it's only court that can declare a division or crisis in a Party. That guy may loose his seat to the deputy governor. He only enjoyed that seat because he was a member of pdp because he didn't win the election based on supreme Court judgment.
. Constitunalky he is free to defect to any point of his choice based on the existing crisis in his party. The constitution should have been precise on the matter and forbidden defection under any guise. As long as the loophole is there he is free to defect pronto
Penguin2: Supreme Court was express in its ruling that APC had no candidate in Zamfara and cannot hold office.
Mathematically, - x - = -
APC in Zamfara is a hollow space, a bottomless pit. Anybody who walks into it will get drowned; until a sandfilling happens in the next election cycle.
Except Buhari issues a directive to our Sharia CJN, PDP has a good case.

Picture of Sacked Letter of Pastor in Winners Chapel for not generating enough Income
One of the letters reads in part, “Consequent upon the recent performance reviews which revealed that your church growth index falls below expectations.
“Please be informed that your services as a pastor in charge are no longer required from this commission with immediate effect.
“You are to vacate the official accommodation (where applicable) and hand over all properties of the ministry in your custody, including your staff identity card to the area pastor before departure.
“May you find grace for a new beginning. Peace.”
. Performance review ... church growth ......below expectation..... Precisely money is involved as all have been given target already. A person can be relieved of his membership only if he perpetrates what is in 2 Cor 6 vrs 9-13. This is not the case If you talk about human growth Jesus did not expect equal growth at all .In the parable of the talents ,they did not bring back same talents. Yet all except one were commended. The widow who gave only two drachma coins were commended for her contribution not those who were wealthy among them. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free John 8 vrs 33
. With due respect to everbody's choice of religion and way of worship,God told Israelites to pay tithes for the Levites in order to maintain the temple and care for themselves since they had no land inheritance. In the christian era Jesus never made tithes complusory since the law that guided tithes were abolished with his death on the stake Additionally after his death his apostles and older men encouraged willful contribution as you decided to do not forceful payment of tithes (2 Corinthians 9vrs 7). Apostle Paul was a tenth maker and never made himself a burden to the congregations.Today, pastors look on to the congregation for food clothing and basic necessities of life. Churches have become businesses and a mean of livelihood. Churches have been given monetary targets weekly. Is this Christianity or business ventures? I am not against contribution but it must be voluntary not do or die. However millions are in the religious bondage and they have become slaves of humans in the name of Religion .Finally a lot of things are done in the churches today that are not in the Bible. Everything is to make a person richer at the expense of the teeming poor populace in churches.
Special Counsel to IPOB (Alloy Ejimako) has made clear that Nigeria has lost jurisdiction to try the IPOB leader because of his extra-ordinary rendition back to Nigeria which he describes as a state crime.
. You know nothing about international law and the supreme court judment on personal right and privileges. Mr Kanu's case will continue in Nigeria undisturbed.
