The lead justice in Bayelsa that nullified Lyon election, Justice Odili, a known wife of PDP ex PDP Gov in Rivers State.

If such person with similar closeness to any Apc members had been selected to head and give a verdict , only God knows how many organisations in the world, PDP would have copied.

What are you saying? So if he needs her and calls back she should accept. She should quit for her sanity and for fresh air.
. I am also in support of leaving her as indicates in my comment. However if she officially leaves him and he calls her with a view to arranging their marriage rites (which I doubt ) she may still accept and give him stringent conditions unlike when she allowed him to play on her and toy with her feelings anyhow.

In my earlier comment I said Abuja court should have asked the parties to maintain status cope pending the determination of the matter in April but went ahead hurriedly to give an injunction to satisfy a party. This is an aberration in the judicial dispensation. I wouldn't really be bothered because if a Court in Rivers does same tomorrow, you will say it is wrong and the PDP members will say it is perfect.

I hope every judge will start dishing out motion expartes, so that the Judiciary will grow.
. Politics is in judiciary and vice versa. Some politicians in APC hid under FCT court to suspend Osiomole.Osiomole with his cohorts his under Kaduna High court to set aside the ruling. Each judge acted within his power on the matter before them. These are judges that will soon be promoted to Appeal court soon. I was among those that predicted this development. So in politics nothing is impossible in judiciary

Ineedtoheal:
Hi Famlanders, Please I need your advice. I beg you all to save a sister. I have to bring this here coz I know it's where I will get wonderful contributions. Again, I am using this new account coz I have friends and customers here. I don't want to blow my cover. Please this is real and not fiction. This will be quite lengthy, please bear with me.

I met this guy in 2013 when I was in year one. It was not a steady relationship coz we barely call nor see so I didn't take him serious. And whenever we see, it was always at one friends house or another. I accused him of being married but he vehemently denied it. Later on I figured out he had accommodation issue after he lost his job. He later rented a house when he got another job with one of our prestigious federal universities here in Nigeria and that was when things became serious (kinda).

We became very serious around 2016 that is why I count it as 5 years instead of 7. But then during one of my visits, I was sleeping in the room when I overheard him talking to someone but the only thing that caught my attention was when he said "I don't even have a girlfriend". Though I didn't confront him, but I thought about it deeply.

Two nights ago, I had a dream where he was getting married to another lady. I was crying while he was still saying he loves me but can't marry me. I confronted him yesterday, he said I am pressurizing him to marry me that was after he first asked what will happen if we don't end up together. He hasn't told me where the relationship is leading to after 5 years. We have been living for the moment. Just for the moment!

Few info about the relationship
1) He will be 40 this November while I am 27.
2. He has always had numerous girlfriends that when he's with them, he doesn't pick my calls though he always apologizes and he's trying his best this year.

3. He always send pictures of other women to his friends to let them know they are the people he wish to marry but never has he sent mine. Though he claims he's not doing it again.

4. From the look of things he's still searching while he wants to have me all to himself. Maybe a second option since the others are not accepting him and I love him foolishly.

5. The relationship is 50 -50 .We spend on each other. He believes it's the woman's duty to do all the house chores but not the man's duty to take care of the woman.

6. On his Fathers burial last year, 3 of his girlfriends came (me inclusive) and we all wore the burial uniform. Together, we served his guests even when we realized we are dating same man. His neighbors were giggling and gossiping but we all decided to be matured and work together.

7. When my sister that raised me died, he didn't come for the burial. his reason was he had supervision that day in school, same person that calls his colleague to cover for him during exam supervision so he could do other things. He also didn't send me any money but he questioned me for not giving him any money for his Father's burial. Even when I paid him excess for the burial uniform. I know why I did that. Mind you, he has asked me before if he can give one of his ex 10k during her Father's burial which I agreed and he sent her the money.

8. I have rejected some suitors who were willing to marry me coz of him. Though he has never encouraged me to accept any of them. In fact he gets angry hearing that another man is coming close to me.

9. He doesn't call often, I do more of the calling though he always return my calls. He can stay for days without calling unless I call. I know I have been the one holding the relationship coz I thought he will change.

10. Sine 2017 till last year, all I did was forgive him coz I love him. He keeps bringing new / different ladies into the picture. I have gone through a lot of emotional stress. He keeps asking me to stay that he loves me but he's confused.

His good side: He's understanding, motivates me to do my best, he doesn't hit me, he is gentle.

Me on the other hand is sometimes stubborn though very faithful coz I love him to a fault. I easily get angry but forgives easily. When I'm angry I talk so much but I don't abuse him. He is simply the cause of all my anger. He always say I am very understanding, a good girl, drama free but yet he doesn't want to marry me and won't let me go too. I have never involved a third party in our relationship except my late sister who said she wish I will walk away from the relationship because I love the guy more, that it won't end well. All my friends thinks I have a perfect relationship because I don't discuss him with them.

Back to last night, I told him I won't call him again coz he said I am pressurizing him to marry me. The truth is I have seen the hand writing on the wall, not today but two years ago but I keep going back. Please I need advice on how not to go back again. The love he proclaims for me is not enough for him to marry. I have wasted enough time already. Maybe hearing the raw truth here will help.
. This man will never marry you...You asked him he said he would not marry you but he loves you...He even asked u what would happen if he did not marry you.At a function three others girlfriends came....If he had never said and done the above I would say may be he is not ready yet for marriage with you but he would still marry you...Now do this: Call him and tell him how you feel again and let him know that you want to leave him now.End your relationship officially. If he still needs you he will call you back...You have endured enough for him.

Below is a picture of a 22 year old, Biafran warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and his aunty, Winifred Ojukwu, shortly after he returned to Nigeria in 1955 on completing his studies at Oxford university. Ojukwu bagged a Degree in History.

Ojukwu attended Kings College Lagos, Epsom College, Surrey, England and the prestigious Oxford University, England.

By the time Ojukwu returned to Nigeria in 1955, his father had become one of the richest businessmen in the country with a business empire that spanned Transportation, Banking, Retail, Construction and Manufacturing.

Ojukwu's father took him to his corporate headquarters and showed him a well furnished airconditioned office, offering him a top position in his business organisation. Ojukwu turned his father down, telling him he wanted to make his own way in life. Ojukwu eventually secured a job in the civil service as an assistant district officer of Udi division, just outside Enugu. In 1956, Ojukwu was posted to Aba. It was at Aba that Ojukwu attended a party that would change the course of his life. At this party, Ojukwu met a young Yoruba man called Adeyinka Adebayo, who had just been newly commissioned as an officer of the Nigerian Army. Adebayo told Ojukwu that the Army was in the process of being indigenized and their was a shortage of officers. A few weeks after this party, Ojukwu was promoted to District Officer and posted to Calabar.

On hearing that his son had been posted to Calabar, Ojukwus influential father prevailed on the authorities to cancel the posting. When Ojukwu learnt of what his father had done, he angrily resigned his job and drove all the way to Kaduna where he enlisted into the Nigerian Army as a lowly recruit.
. Ojukwu ..the man I respect most in the East with his bravery unlike those who are noise makers today and are reputed for noise making outside the shores of Nigeria.

I don't know what the prayers were;
But going by the rulings of Justice S C Oji at the FCT High Court in December, the suspension wasn't in contest.

Even though it was struck out by same Court in Jan after the appellants had sought to withdraw the case.

Surprisingly, from that same FCT High Court, Justice Senchi has said he should be temporarily suspended.

Don't forget, the matter before the court isn't Oshiomhole's suspension from his ward but his removal as National Chairman.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2020/03/apc-in-turmoil-as-court-suspends-oshiomhole/amp/

If the matter before the Court is on suspension of Oshiomhole, the Court has no territorial jurisdiction.

But if it's to remove him as National Chairman, there is jurisdiction because his office and residence is in Abuja.

The case started from the party ward in Edo state. The case should have been filed at the Edo State High Court or a federal high court. FCT high court didn’t have jurisdiction on Edo State.
. This case started at his ward in Edo.He was suspended at the ward level there.A Federal high court in Edo should have been asked to enforce the compliance. for jurduction purpose. If it is a matter concerning the NWC of APC any Federal hight court in a Abuja can hear it .From my observation the litigant want s to chanlege his continued actiing as the chairman .Thus Abuja court was used for it since it is the seat of power of the APC .NWC.

I think the judge is wrong here. Isn't the suspension the case of litigation before the court in the first place? So if you rely on the submissions of one party to suspend the chairman, it's like passing judgment before the main trial. I think the right thing to do was to put the other party on notice to commence a full trial as to determine the veracity or otherwise of the suspension. So it seems prejudicial to admit the suspension of the chairman when the litigation itself is to ascertain whether or not his purported suspension is procedural and in accordance with the constitution of the party. It's more like judgement before trial. I think the order will be appealed and stayed.politicians have bastardized institutions in Nigeria. They use them to get what they want.

Scores of youth stormed the Kano Hisbah office on Wednesday over an alleged blasphemy song against the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The protesters holding placards alleged that the government and the security agents in the state are reluctant to act over the matter.

The convener of the protest, Idris Ibrahim (known as Baba Idris), said they came to notify the government to do the needful; otherwise, they will take the law into their hands.

Mr Ibrahim said similar incidents had happened in the state in the past that were not attended to by the authorities.

Earlier, one Yahaya Sharif-Aminu composed a song containing alleged derogatory comments attributed to the Prophet Muhammad. This prompted violence against the family members of the musician who fled the area last week.

Last Friday, the family house of the singer located at Sharifai quarters in Kano Municipal Local Government Area was set ablaze by irate youth who protested the song.

The singer is said to be a member of the Islamic Tijjaniya sect and a member of Faidha group. He is yet to speak on the matter.

While addressing the protesters, the Kano Hisbah Commander, Harun Ibn-Sina, said officials in the state are on top of the situation and the parents of the musician have been arrested and are currently under police custody.

Also addressing the protesters was the representative of the state police commissioner, Habu Sani, who told the protesters that the police are making efforts to arrest the fleeing singer.

The representative of the police chief who identified himself as Hamza urged the protesters to be law-abiding citizens by allowing the security agents to do the needful. He assured the gathering that the musician would not go unpunished.

Are you aware there is a similar ruling upholding Oshiomhole's suspension on Dec 2019?

The Court on, Friday, granted an order restraining the reconciliation committee, constituted by the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, from acting on the activities of the Edo State chapter of the party. It also, upheld the suspension of Oshiomhole by Ward 10 Executives of the APC in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

Justice Sylvanus Chinedu Orji in a ruling December 6, 2019, granted the order of interim injunction in a Motion No. M/680/2019 between Mr Stephen Oshawo & 2 Ors v. Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole & 2 Ors.

The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, declined to restore Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the Governor of Imo State.

The apex court, in a decision by a seven-man panel of Justices led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, reinstated the judgement it gave on January 14, which declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as the validly elected governor of Imo state.

In the lead verdict that was delivered by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the apex court, held that Ihedioha’s application to set-aside the judgement that removed him from office lacked merit.

It held that the application was an invitation for the Supreme Court to sit on appeal over its own final judgement.

Though it dismissed the application, the apex court refused to award cost against the Applicants.

However, a member of the apex court panel, Justice Centus Chima Nweze, disagreed with the lead verdict and gave a dissenting opinion that allowed Ihedioha’s application.

Nweze said he was satisfied that the judgement that declared Uzodinma winner was entered in error.

He held that the apex court has a duty to in the interest of justice, set-aside its decision that was given in error.

By: Akinloye NG.

As the ruling on the Imo guber appeal ruling review is now set for 3:00PM today, I will do a quick analysis on what transpired on both sides on the floor of the Supreme Court, before the Supreme Court stood down till later in the evening to give its ruling.

Lawyer to Emeka Ihedioha, Kanu Agabi, in his argument, advanced two claims of the appellant, Hope Uzodinma, claiming he was excluded from 388 polling units but tendered results from only 366 polling units and that with the addition of votes from 388 polling units in favour of him, the new result exceeded the total number of accredited voters by 129,000 votes.

In my last analysis, I pointed out two grounds which are only strong enough to warrant the Supreme Court being a court of records/precedence, to set aside its earlier ruling and give proper records and precedence in declaring Ihedioha as winner.

These two grounds are consequent upon the Supreme Court ruling disqualifying Uche Nwosu in December for double nomination having been validly nominated by both APC and AA, Hope Uzodinma is no more a candidate of any political party in the Imo guber contest, as no party can field two candidates for same position.

The other ground is the mismatch of total valid votes and total accredited voters after adding votes from the magical 388 PUs following claims of being cheated in 366 made by him.

It was a surprise that Chief Agabi advanced only the numerical mismatch which he split into two, leaving out the no-party ground in his address which already made the earlier ruling a constitutional crisis.

He only harped on an arm of the grounds, positing inadequate claims towards the case for a review.

On the other hand, the Counsel to Hope Uzodinma, Mr Damian Dodo, countered that the application to revisit, review or set aside the judgment of the court is an incompetent one lacking in merit.

He further argued that the Supreme Court lacks the jurisdiction to sit on appeal over any judgment already delivered by it except where cases of typographical errors or slips are noticed and went further to say such errors have not been established.

Here, Mr. Damian Dodo erred because Ihedioha's application is calling on the court to revisit, review and set aside the judgment. It is competent and with constitutional merit and therefore not an appeal.

While he is correct to say that the Supreme Court lacks the jurisdiction to sit on appeal over any judgment already delivered by it, he erred by seeing the application before the Supreme Court as an appeal. It is a review which the Supreme Court in its own earlier ruling stated it has jurisdiction over, so as to correct errors of misinterpretation or Judgement obtain in error or fraud

In my last analysis, I cited Oriker Jev & Ors. v. Iyortom & Ors. [2015] NWLR (Pt. 1483) 484, where the Supreme Court had in an earlier ruling mistakenly ordered that INEC conduct rerun election, but upon application for review, the court discovered it gave the said order based on a wrong interpretation of Section 133(2) in conjunction with Section 141 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and subsequently set aside the earlier ruling and ordered INEC to issue the applicant a certificate of return.

There is also a precedence of review in the case of Olorunfemi v. Asho [2000] 2 NWLR (Pt. 643) 143. The Supreme Court in its 18th March, 1999 ruling set aside its earlier judgment delivered on the 8th January, 1999 and ordered that the appeal be heard de-novo by another panel, on the ground that it ought to have considered the Respondent’s cross-appeal first before allowing the Appellant’s appeal.

These are examples of where the Supreme Court once set aside its earlier rulings and they are not typographical errors but misinterpretation and administration of justice in errors like it is evident in the Imo ruling, which gave mandate to Uzodinma who was never a candidate of any political party with votes not in conformity with total accredited voters.

. The APC came with a review plea too on misinterpretation of. judgement but was penalised for #60m for abuse of court process. In my opinion if you feel aggrieved with SC judgement you can ask for a review if your plea lack merit the SC will strike it out.The constitution does not say it is an aberration to seek review of SC judgement.
