I dont know why politicians like raising a false alarm. A tribunal can be disbanded at any time if it is necessary. It has nothing to do with justice. The tribunal jugment will still be apealed to the Supreme court. It cannot be struck out on techicality. Hpwever my humble opinion is PDP has no case to win at the tribunal. The tribunal that will declare Adeleke winner will write another electoral laws and constitution in Nigeria.Sadly all their lawyers know the truth but they are just collecting money from them. Is the declaration of the election inconclusive consistuitional? Yes there are precedences in supreme court about it even where the leading party has 145 000 votes in the elections .Kogi Imo. and Anambra are some examples with approval of Supreme court because it os in consistuitio and electoral law to do so. In addition can the rerun elevyion be councelled because of the purpoterd cases of viokence in the town outside tje poling areas? No. Elections can be cancelled only if there is a vilonce at the polling booth not outside or in the town as it is reported in Osun..So violent reports that PDP are presenting are civil cases if they truly happen and they cannot mar the results of the election. However the tribunal will justify tmy position in its ruling. Let wait and see. |

Politics › Re: Don't Field Omisore For Osun East Senatorial Slot- Ijesa Indigenes To Oshiomhole by ejimatic: 4:21pm On Oct 16, 2018 |
Chinekepikin: 2019: Don't Field Omisore For Osun East Senatorial Slot, We Want Our Indigene, Ijesa Citizens Write Oshiomhole
Some concerned citizens of Ijesha land in Osun state have forwarded an open letter to the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomole requesting that one of their kinsmen should be fielded as the candidate to represent Osun East Senatorial District.
In the letter, which was sighted by our correspondent asked the Governor of Ekiti state and that of Ondo state, Akeredolu to desist from their plans of making Senator Iyiola Omisore the flagbearer of the APC for the senatorial district.
They denied any knowledge of the party's agreement with Omisore to be fielded for the senatorial contest.
They said an Ijesha citizen should be given the senatorial ticket in the interest of justice and fairness saying the district had more Ijesa local government areas than Ife.
"Otuba Iyiola Omisore was the Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District 2003-2011 and he's from Ile -Ife and Senator Christopher Babajide Omoworare from Ile-Ife from 2011 till date.
"We demand Ijesha citizens to represent us for Osun East senatorial District; we have suffered enough and we have enough population to deliver, Ife has four local government areas while ijesha has 6 local government areas. we have much population than Ife.
Also, we realised the pranks ongoing that Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Akeredolu wanted to use Otunba Iyiola Omisore to hijack Osun from us so as to have total control of the Southwest. We don't want! They are planning to use Omisore and we will resist it.
"More so, we aren't aware of any agreement between Fayemi and Omisore during the Osun guber election as far as the Osun East senatorial ticket is concerned
"We are also aware that the party entered into an agreement with Omisore to have his seized passport released to him and the withdrawal of his EFCC case. We are aware that Omisore was given some huge amount of money. So what else is he looking for?
"All we want is for Ijesha to have the Osun East Senatorial ticket," they insisted.
Source: https://newswirenaija..com/2018/10/2019-dont-field-omisore-for-osun-east.html?m=1 Ijesa people have a case. However they should remember that Aregbesola has spent 8 years as governor and Omisore made it possible to retain APC in Osun.So they should be ready to accept house of assembly speakership for now while Ifes present the senator for Osun East.If this is part of their agreement so be it.Ife and ijesa should work together on political matters so that the district can be strong in the state. |
Politics › Re: Chekwas Okorie: I Prefer 4 More Years Of Buhari To 8 Years Of Another Fulani by ejimatic: 11:40am On Oct 16, 2018 |
CilicMarin: By Yinka Ajayi National Chairman of the United Progressive Party, UPP, Chief Chekwas Okorie, in this interview, outlines why the South-East and South-West should back President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election and speed up power shift to the South among other national issues.
Nigeria is still a work in progress but it’s unfortunate that we are in election mood. While those in government are busy convincing Nigerians that they have done
On President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war Nobody can take that from them because they were able to fight the anti-corruption war headlong.
But for some to call the anti-corruption war of this administration a selective fight is illogical. Because the issue of fraud and corruption does not expire. It’s a matter that lasts over time. And a government that is serious has to start from somewhere. If it’s one sided, who will they arrest, is it other innocent Nigerians or Chekwas Okorie who had never gone near government resources or treasury?
And some particular Nigerians had access to the treasury for 16 good years. If they start from there and another government comes to power, they can continue from there. I always remind those that say anti-corruption war is one-sided of an Igbo proverb that says: A River can only drown somebody whose feet it has seen. If you did not go near the river, how can it drown you? Are they saying if they stole and the other people stole, it should be cancelled? It’s only a corrupt man that will say that. They are not even ashamed that they had 16 years to rule and they messed the whole country up. They laid the foundation for recession.
Before I sound like the ruling party spokesperson, everybody knows that they had a higher source of revenue, by the time this government came, we had less than 7billion dollars in foreign reserve now we are talking about 42 to 46 billion in our foreign reserves.
Despite the situation we have found ourselves, there have been indications of prudence in resource management.
Nobody who will say agriculture has not received the kind of boost we are beginning to experience more certain growth and genuine infrastructural development.
The Buhari’s administration attitude not to cancel contracts approved by the previous government because his government didn’t award them, and encouraging contractors to go back to site is unprecedented.
We are now beginning to look at railway as a source of transportation; Agriculture has a quantum leap in development and is affecting Urban-Rural migration positively.
So things may not be automatic but things are looking up. For us in UPP, we decided not to field a presidential candidate so that we can use this period to consolidate and build a solid structure for 2023. So for me, the Buhari administration is good to go for second term because there is nothing in PDP that Nigerians are missing that will make me want them to come back. I can live with another four years of Buhari but may not be able to endure another eight years of PDP.
The reason is the person running under PDP moral baggage is known, his pasts are known and we know what they did with the opportunity they had when they were in power for 16 years. So a Leopard does not change its spots. The saying that the devil you know is better than the angels you don’t know is true.
In a situation where there are two devils, you can choose the better devil. To Nigerians that are ethnic minded, they are faced with two Fulani, the APC Fulani and the PDP Fulani. It is left for you to choose your own Fulani.
For me, Buhari has an uncompleted job and the way he is going is a path of progress.
It is for Nigerians to decide what they want but I personally will prefer another four years of Buhari before power shift to the South-West or South-East, than another eight years of another Fulani with the same spot and if you add it to the previous nightmare of the PDP it will be too much for Nigerians to bear.
Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/10/2019-i-prefer-four-more-years-of-buhari-than-eight-years-of-another-fulani-chekwas-okorie/ This is why the South must suport Buhari so as to return the power to us in 2023 according to our rotation.we cannit wait till 2027 for the power shif.... |

Politics › Re: 2019: All Presidential Candidates Put Together Can’t Remove Buhari – Joe Igbokwe by ejimatic: 9:13am On Oct 15, 2018 |
akelicious: Joe Igbokwe, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has declared that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2019, insisting that all the presidential candidates put together will not be able to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Igbokwe, the ruling APC would not lose sleep over the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition party, stressing that the contest was going to be between integrity versus corruption.
Igbokwe told newsmen in Lagos that Nigerians cannot trust Atiku because of the many cases of corruption hanging around his neck.
He said, “Let me put it this way, all the presidential candidates put together, both the serious and the unserious, will not be able to unseat Buhari.
“The contest is going to be between integrity versus corruption. And if that is going to be the parameter to judge, it means that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock. If corruption and integrity were to be in contest, then integrity must win. If integrity must win, therefore, Aso Rock is not vacant for now.
“There is no meeting point between light and darkness. We cannot trust Atiku with the keys of the national treasury given his antecedent. I don’t know whether you have watched Obasanjo’s video on Atiku.
“If there is anybody that knows Atiku very well, that person must be Obasanjo because they worked together for eight years. Obasanjo said some Americans came probably from FBI and said that they wanted to investigate some Nigerians and Atiku was one of them.
“After that, Obasanjo was also inclusive, but they couldn’t find anything on him. Meanwhile, on Atiku, there was a damning report. And given what Obasanjo knows about the findings of those people, he said that God would not forgive him if he supports Atiku. If Obasanjo says that kind of thing, then we cannot trust Atiku with the keys of the national treasury.
“Another point is what played out in Port Harcourt at the PDP national convention. It was a bazaar. It was an audacious and thunderous celebration of corruption, where dollars were used with reckless abandon to buy delegates’ votes. We cannot have that kind of person in the saddle. His wealth is questionable. Also remember that PDP told Nigerians that they had repented and pleaded that they should be given another chance.” This isb the truth that many Nigerians do not want to hear. There is rotational presidency in Nigeria. If OBJ spent 8 years and wasted them despite hues and cries then Buhari Must spend 8 years. Then the power will return to the south. The kingmakers know this fact they are just pushing masses here and there. They know how to sort things out. Also Buhari is weightier in the north and the core north will never abandone him. A sincere Nigeria does not have to wait till 2023 to that ten Atikus cannot defeat Buhari in the presidential election.

It will be eadier for a camel to pass through a needle hole than for Buhari to lose in 2019. If Obasanjo spent 8 years with our hues and cries then nothing would prevent Buhari from spending 8 years as the president.Additionally the north has four years left to return power to the south. The south will prefer Buhari to spend remaining 4 years and go to letting Atiku spend new 8 years ..The kingmakers know this fact but they will not tell you. They are pushing us here and there. They know their game plan and when to play it. |
